Surprising how Neville and Harry's lives were so similar, Neville was bullied at home and at school too. The book had the way Harry was bullied by most of the school was just awful.
38:46 Cho Chang is supposed to be a year above Harry (though the movies changed it). So she was supposed to be 15 or even 16 at the time she and Cedric started dating.
They don't mention it in the movie but the reason Ron is mad at Harry is because He believes Harry deliberately entered his name into the tournament without telling him, leading Ron to feel jealous and betrayed as he deeply desired to participate in competition himself and felt overshadowed by Harry's fame and attention once again. Another reason Ron is mad and jealous is because Ron spent his life in his siblings shadow since they've accomplished some amazing things.
Priori Incantatem is an effect that occurs when two wands that have magical cores deriving from the same source are used against each other. One or the other of the wands is forced to regurgitate the last spells that it was used to cast.
Nice reaction. This movie is the first of the adaptations that gets extreme cuts from the books. A good way to consider how much had to be trimmed from the book is to look at how long it takes the books to reach Hogwarts. The first 3 books take about 5 chapters to get the school. Goblet takes about 11 to 12 chapters to reach the school (the chapters are also longer as we reach a more teenage reading level). The movies have to make concessions so it can make a lot of plot points wonky. A good example is the 4 champions. You would think, like you mention in the reaction, that Hogwarts having 2 champions would be a big deal and the other schools might be pissed. Well in the book they are. There is discussion of getting the other schools additional champions and during the voting the other schools mark down the Hogwarts champions etc.
Hermione was 15 when she dated Krum (age 17) so their wasn't a large age difference. With Ginny and Nevil there is only 6 months difference since both Harry and Nevil were born at the end of the school year. Hermione was born in September at the start of the school year. Also bear in mind the 'age of consent' in the UK is 16 compared with 18 for the US.
Yes, Hogwarts is the only magic school in the world. Every Wizard and Witch in the world goes there. Now,Every country in the world has a school of magic.
Except for Fleur's little sister the 2 other schools only brought students who were 17 or older. Did you put your name in the Goblet of Fire Harry? ...Dumbledore asked calmly.
What's "questionable" about Neville taking Ginny to the ball?! She's the sister of a friend and she's just one year younger 🤔 Dirty minds are not necessarily right
Don't try to make this series follow our calendar. They're not representing the 1970s here. The first book was published in 1997 and Goblet in 2000. The story is set in "present day" whenever you're reading/watching it.
Hi!, If you think of the wizarding world as living in the 1800's then you can understand the schools treatment of children. Just look how the teachers and most of the adults dress.
It annoys me to all hell that they just have every spell in the movies throw the other person back in a flashy manner instead of, like you said, expelliarmus just disarming your opponent.
The director was the one that got his ribs broken by Oliver & James Phelps who play Fred and George, not a stuntman.
@@mutantx2372 oh didn’t realize that! Thanks for sharing
Neville's parents aren't dead - they were tortured into insanity by Voldemort & the Death Eaters. They live at the wizard hospital, St Mungos
Oh, never even realized that. They make it seem like they passed awhile ago
Not Voldemort, only his deatheaters*
Mainly Bellatrix Lestrange.

They were tortured by Bellatrix Lestrange and Barty Crouch Jr, not Voldemort.

That makes sense. Can see how he would get upset by that.
There is more in the books about why Voldemort came after Harrys parents and Harry, but that cant be explained yet, only after 5th movie.
Got it, thanks for not spoiling!

Wow, learning so much about the lore! Thank you!
you mean to spill out prior incantations?
Yes. Crabbe and Goyle. Malfoy's lackeys' fathers are deatheaters. Also, deatheater McNair is the executioner from the 3rd movie, for Buckbeak.
Oh, never realized that! Thanks for letting us know.
It wasn't a stuntman that broke a rib while demonstrating that scene. It was Mike Newell, the DIRECTOR.
@@danaclinton7105 even more crazy!

No, guys, that's just a Scottish accent. A truly thick Scottish accent you wouldn't understand.
Haha, you're probably right

Thank you! Yeah, unfortunately, that's a tough job deciding what to cut, but if it were faithful to the books, the movie would be like 6 hours haha

nothing haha. It's nothing to do with dirty minds. Just in the film, Neville seems a lot bigger and older than Ginny.
CGI looks worse because our cameras got better. While the cameras got better cgi stayed relatively the same.
Good point!
