We know we've had some big moments missing from some of these edits. Unfortunately copyright has been a bit more intense then normal this past month and a half so our editor was a bit too aggressive. That being said we've communicated some of the major scenes missing y'all have communicated to us in the comments and our editor will be making sure those missing scenes get added to the full Harry Potter binge video once we wrap up all 8 movies and upload that binge. He also will be making a point to double check big moments for future uploads to avoid these missing moments in the future. If there's something big missing feel free to put it here so we can make sure we don't miss anything too important when we add some scenes back to the binge video in the coming weeks. Thank you for understanding Billy!
Understood. I am genuinely curious and say this with a neutral tone: Do your editors watch the movies they edit? Do they watch them before they edit/are they into films and television shows? I ask because I have noticed this trend with editors of other reaction channels (third-party editors), where you can tell they have never watched the movie. It isn't just a moment here and there they leave out, but moments that allude to the story as a whole for the movie.
13:35 the thing is, in the book it wasn't all girls school and all guys school, that was just because they thought we'd be too stupid to keep track of which school the tri-wizard champions were from.
I’m pretty sure it was because they wanted to put more emphasis on growing up, puberty, crushes, etc. So they made all the boys love the Beaxbatons and the girls were in love with the Durmstrang students. I think I remember seeing an old interview of Mike Newell talking about why they went in that direction on an old DVD special features😂
@@DeathKitta Might have been the train of thought along the lines of "during the tasks themselves, due to on-the-field style attire, it would be potentially harder", but yes. Agreed that it'd still feel like a weak sort of an excuse. Perhaps the costume leads weren't paid enough. Who knows
13:00 There's actually supposed to be eleven schools. The 8 confirmed locations being Hogwarts (Scotland) llvermorny (US) Beauxbatons (France) Durmstrang (Scandinavia either Sweden or Norway) Castelobruxo (Brazil) Koldovstoretz (Russia) Mahoutokoro (Japan) Uagadou (Africa) As for the rest, it has been confirmed that they exist. But we haven't been given a name or location for them as far as I know.
you know what sucks? the brazilian, russian, and japanese colleges are all essentially called "wizard place" in their languages. if hogwarts was named the same it'd be call Witchcastle or some shit
@@Ev1L0rdnot necessarily. It could be a mixed school like Hogwarts. I wouldn’t be surprised if most of the schools are to some degree mixed since there aren’t, as far as we now, enough to cover the whole world. So some people would have to travel countries to go to magic school. Again take Hogwarts, in the entire UK and Ireland it is the only magic school so people from England, Scotland, Wales Northern Ireland and Ireland would all have to go to the same school. There are of course other factors that could be part of determining where people would send their kids like what kind of magic each school focuses on more, if it’s closer, language etc.
@@Ev1L0rd No. The Bulgarian team was facing the Irish team. There isn't a magic school in Ireland, the nearest one is hogwarts in Scotland. The teams are not representing specific schools they are representing nations. An example would be someone from London being on a Scottish football team despite London being in England.
Oh his reaction broke my heart more than Cedric's actual death. (although him asking Harry to bring his body to his father did an emotional damage to me)
The best meme about that I've ever seen, was someone edited it to look like Dumbledore was roughing up Frodo in the woods, asking if he put his name in the Goblet of Fire, and Frodo asked 'Who the hell are you!?' and Dumbledore just asked him again xD
This was the book that had a big jump in size. Double the size of the last book and nearly triple the size of the first book. They cut near half the book. 1. The start with Harry at the Dursleys, getting an invitation to the cup. Mr Weasley blowing apart the Dursleys lounge room wall when they try to floo in and find the fire place was bricked up. Fred and George dropping a bag of candy to trick Dudley into eat a tongue growing candy that made it grow to about the size of a rump steak. 2. Bill, Charlie, and Percy cut from the movie. Fred and George planning for Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes. Harry at the Weasleys for a week. 3. At the camp site exploring and meeting classmates. The Weasley family seats where in the top box with the Malfoys and Crouches elf Winkey saving him an “empty” seat. The whole of the detailed description of the match. Winkey getting blamed for casting the Dark Mark and being fired. 4. The other schools don’t arrive until Halloween, and they are both co-ed. 5. Dobby gets hired to work at Hogwarts after haggling his wage down, and then winky gets hired later. 6. When Hermione finds out about the dozens of house elves at Hogwarts she starts SPEW, Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare to advocate for better treatment for house elves. She spends the rest of the movie trying to get the rest of Gryffindor to join. Starts knitting hats and hiding them around the common room to trick the elves into being freed. 7. Moody uses the Imperius Curse on all the students as a form of training. Harry does well at resisting it. 8. Fred, George, and their friend Lee all try to put their name in the Goblet of Fire. When they grow beards, they laugh about it. Dumbeldore is present when this happens and laughs with them. 9. The other champions voice their concerns about Harry being a champion. Dumbledore calmly asks Harry if he put his name in the Goblet of Fire. 10. Ollivander appears to weigh the champion’s wands. Rita Skeeter pushes the narrative that Harry and Hermione are in love from the start. 11. When harry finds out about the dragons Charlie Weasley is there and talks to Hagrid about the dragons while Harry watches from under the Invisibility Cloak. Igor Karkaroff follows Hagrid and Madame Maxine. 12. Harry meets with Sirius and Buckbeak in person in a nearby cave. 13. Moody suggests Harry use a Summoning Charm, and Harry practices with Hermione. The dragon never breaks free and Harry remains in the arena. 14. It is mentioned that Fleur is the granddaughter of a Veela, a species that seduces those attracted to women. 15. Harry and Ron overhear a small argument between Hagrid and Madame Maxine, where Hagrid reveals he is half-giant. Harry spots Rita in her animagus form as a beetle. Rita publishes an article about Hagrid being a half-giant, causing him to isolate himself. Professor Grubbly-Plank replaces him as the Care of Magical Creatures teacher. The trio and Dumbledore visit Hagrid and try to convince him to return. 16. Barty Crouch Snr ends up getting sick and Percy Weasley replaces him as judge. Harry sees Barty Crouch’s name on the map doing odd things, making him suspicious of Barty Crouch Snr. The trio visit Sirius. He tells them about Barty Crouch Jr, who was a few cells away from him in Azkaban. He also mentions the Crouch family’s recent history. 17. Dobby gives Harry the Gillyweed. 18. Harry finds Barty Crouch Snr going mad and asking to speak with Dumbledore. Harry goes to Dumbledore, who follows him back to Crouch. They return to an unconscious Krum, who was attacked by Barty Crouch Snr. 19. In The Pensieve Harry sees Karkaroff, Ludo Bagman, and four other dark wizards on trial, one of them being Crouch Jr when he was a teenager. 20. The Quidditch pitch is turned into a maze. The quidditch team is outraged. 21. Harry sees Mr. and Mrs. Weasley before the third task. Fleur takes interest in Bill here. 22. In the maze Harry also faces a Sphinx, Blast-Ended Skrewts, and Boggart in the maze. Harry and Cedric team up to fight a giant spider and go to the cup together. 23. When Harry and Voldemort’s spells connect, the stream turns gold. Harry’s parents, Cedric, Frank, and Bertha Jorkins appear, each of them getting a chance to speak. 24. After being given Veritaserum, Barty Crouch Jr tells them how he escaped Azkaban, what he did to his father, and how he got Harry through the trials. The book also mentions that Barty Crouch Jr was thought dead the last few years after his father helped fake his death. He then kept him under the Imperius Curse to control him. Crouch Jr is later executed with the Dementor’s Kiss. 25. Fudge argues against Dumbledore, McGonagall, and Harry in the Hospital Wing. He does not believe Cedric was killed by Voldemort. 26. There is a background plot between Fred and George and Ludo Bagman. Fred and George bet that Ireland would win the world cup, but Krum would catch the Snitch and Bagman gave them high odds. Bagman paid them in Leprechaun gold which vanish hours later. They spend the rest of the movie trying to corner Bagman to get their money off him. He forces them to agree to double or nothing on the Tri wizard cup, and flees when he looses that. 27. Harry won the tournament prize money, intending to give it to Cedric's parents. However, they declined his offer. Eventually, he decided to give the money to Fred and George instead. 28. During the journey back to King's Cross, Hermione discloses that Rita Skeeter is an Animagus and that she managed to capture her in a jar.
In the books, all schools are mixed. I never understood why the movie portrayed Beauxbatons and Durmstrang this way. Also, Durmstrang doesn't accept Muggleborn students.
Durmstrang not only doesn't accept Muggle-born students, but they also have Dark Magic in their curriculum. It's no surprise that it was the school to the second greatest dark wizard and Dumbledore's nemesis, Gellert Grinderwald.
Apparently it has a lot to do with the director not thinking it was important to be true to the spirit of the source material and preferred to just make up his own stuff. Supposedly Rowling had to veto him about wanting the dragon to burn down the Forbidden Forest or something. Ofc I've never seen any sources for these claims, so take it as you will. Specifically for Durmstrang, it's poor reprutation around Harry's time about anti-muggle sentiments and Dark Arts only started when Igor was made headmaster. While it is described as always being more "tolerant" towards the subject of Dark Arts, it can be assumed it was chiefly academic, since people like Grindelwald were expelled on ethical grounds and Igor being mostly disliked by everyone as a tyrant. A lot of parents pulled their kids out of Durmstrang in protest to having such a suspect ex Death Eater teaching their kids bad stuff. Apparently he was a coward agiven how he bailed, fleeing into the wilderness when Voldemort returned, where he was hunted down and killed. He was also the kind of asshole who had the students row the magical ship they arrived in, while he was slacking off in the captain's cabin. Not the kind of person I see Dumbledore - for all of his flaws - being buddy buddy with like they suggest in the movie... Could also be that the movie just opted to cut out most of igor's bad attributes, kind of how the movies turned down Ron's own bigotry. Book Ron was as blindly hateful of everyone sorted into Slytherin as Draco was of anyone with muggle relations. You could be the kindest, most moral person ever and Ron would want nothing to do with you if you got put in Slytherin, treating you like a leper. Let's just say that had book Ron not been put into Gryffindor, he wouldn't have made the cut for Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff because he was neither wise, studious or hardworking, nor open minded or fair minded, and certainly not treating people by who they are as an individual regardless of "brand". People forget that Gryffindor is where most of the jocks are, and as such where you will find that sort of bullies. So yeah, the movies dumbing down Ron to a comic relief character is a real grey zone, because while it gave his good moments to Hermione, it also removed almost all of the unsavory side of his personality. Harry got the same treatment in TOOTP. Book five Harry was an absolutely monstrous asshole and all around absolute prick on teenage man-pms while movie five Harry is HEAVILY toned down. Book five Harry saw Snape's memories of how horrible James was to him and still thought to himself more or less "I still will never forgive Snape and he deserved it". While I gave up at book 6 due to how boring it was with nothing happening (same issue the movies have, the story just fizzles out after no 5) i bet he got to eat those thoughts by Deathly Hallows.
@AM-sb9rt And if they'd left out the Dragon Chase that didn't happen, and probably something else I don't remember right now, they likely would've been able to
LET IT GO! There was like 2 pages dedicated to the complex emotion and thought going through Dumbledore's head during that moment, which allowed for it to come across that way in the book. He got maybe a minute in the movie to portray how complex that moment was.
Ron’s got a bit of a complex bless him. He’s the 6th of 7 children and the one before Ginny who was the girl his parents wanted. Of course they love all of them but I imagine he’s never grown up feeling particularly special and now he’s constantly in Harry’s shadow. Now the idea that Harry went ahead to try and get glory and didn’t tell him about it hurts. Remember in the first movie he saw himself in the mirror he was like..head boy and quidditch captain and all those things. That’s the kind of stuff he valued, at least then. Plus they’re teenagers. Y’all know they be bitchin over absolutely nothing 😂😂😂
Not only is he in harrys shadow hes in all his brothers shadows, everything he owns is a hand me down, his clothes his pet his first wand etc, then bill was a perfect head boy, charlie was a quidictch champion, percy is this straight a golden boy and the twins are the ultimate class clowns loved by everyone. he is in the ultimate shadow and his ego is black and blue from the bruising god bless him

The trip to Egypt was part of the prize. It's like when someone wins a trip on The Price Is Right, they also give you a certain amount to spend on the trip
Actually, no... In the book, you can clearly read that they spent most of the gold in a month-long Summer vacation to Egypt to visit Bill. However, they still got part of the gold when they returned, as they even bought Ron a new wand.
To clarify, they spend part of the prize money on new school supplies and robes for the kids still at school (and a new wand for Ron) and used another part of it to visit the oldest Weasly son, Bill, who works in Egypt as a "curse-breaker" (basically making magical places and items safe) for Gringotts Bank, clearing out old Egyptian magical booby traps etc. Dude's job is essentially magical Indiana Jones. The second oldest is Charlie, who works at a Romanian dragon preserve and it's he who took in the baby dragon Hagrid hatched from an egg, as well as being part of the team lending the tournament dragons. The third oldest, last before the twins, is Percy. He is seen in the early movies as the "head boy" for Gryffindor (basically president of the student council) but in the books he has graduated and started working for minister Fudge in the books, which is why he takes the ministry's side with the whole Voldemort thing, causing him to lash out against his family for supporting Harry and Dumbledore. Percy was also the original "owner" of Scabbers, giving him to Ron when he starts school in TPS so there's some more uncomfortable mental imagies for you about Peter Pettigrew and kids. So TLDR the Weasly parents aren't stupid and know how to be economic with their money. Bonus trivia: Moody is played by Brendan Gleeson, and Bill Weasley by his son Domhnall, also famous as everyone's favourite Star Wars Officer to hate, General Armitage Hux.
The Potter family was already very rich to start of, especially because its founder was the inventor of Skele-gro (the same potion used to regrow Harry's bones in Chamber of Secrets) and would sell cures for his Muggle neigbors' afflictions. Then, Harry's grandfather invented a haircare potion that became very popular, especially with American witches, whose sales caused his already vast fortune to grow four times as much. Later in life, Harry's grandfather sold his company for a small fortune, in this way increasing the family's wealth even more. So... the Potter family are not just a rich family... they are rich even in terms of rich families. However, the Potter family was not just known for their potion mastery, but also for their work in the wizarding world. Abraham Potter was one of the twelve original American Aurors and Henry Potter (Harry's great-grandfather and his namesake) was a member of the Wizengamot (the wizarding court of law and parlament) and a great supporter in helping Muggles during World War I, something that actually earned him nothing but infamy between the purebloods supremecists that used that to exclude the Potter family from the Sacred Twenty-Eight (the list of Bristish wizarding families that are trully full blood).
I've always wondered...after Harry's parents died, why couldn't he go live with his grandparents--particularly James's parents? Were they already dead? If so, why were they dead at such a relatively young age? Did James not have any siblings?
@@ericjette2435 Lilys parents were much older and died before Harry was born and James' parents died of Dragonpox not long after he graduated Hogwarts give or take

18:39 Lupin catching strays. What do you mean the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor is always the bad guy? Literally the previous movie it wasn't.
With the maze part, youre supposed put your right hand on the right side wall and keep walking without losing contact. Even if its a dead end and you're clearly making your way back down the same hallway, just keep on the right and youll find an exit.
2:00 His name is Frank and he had been the caretaker for that house that Voldemort was in for years. It's not said in the movie but that house belonged to Voldemort's Muggle father, Tom Riddle Sr. 26:15 It's not "snake oil" if the potions actually worked. 50:44 The first two tasks are for collecting points to determine your position in the third task. Since Harry and Cedric tied for first place in the first two tasks, they both got to enter the maze first. It's so you get an advantage in the final task.
Despite Fleur was not able to finish the second task, she still managed to get some points for being able to performe a magic that would allow her to breath underwater, as part of the task was exactly that. And because she got third place (second, if you consider Harry and Krum tied on first place) on the first task, she was still on the race to win the tournment.
One line everyone tends to misinterpret is Rita saying Harry should feel right at home in a broom closet. She doesn’t know he spent his early years growing up in one. She is implying he should be used to broom cupboards because that’s where students go to make out and run the bases, which presumably Harry would have a lot of experience with since he is so famous.
49:42 More points in the first 2 tasks would get you an advantage in the maze, Harry and Cedric were tied in points for first so they went into the maze first, then Krum went in, and because she failed the last challenge Fleur went in last. Essentially: more points = more time to get through the maze
51:04 if I remember correctly; the higher your spot, the better location in the maze you got. Like it teleported you closer to the goblet so you had a higher chance of finding it first. So getting better scores in the 1st 2 challenges makes it so you are more likely to win
No, having more points gave you a head start. Harry and Cedric were tied so went in first, followed by Krum probably 15 minutes later, then Fleur probably 15 after that.
@@sortastupid There's a video sinning his Cinema Sins video that calls him out on that as well. The idea that he keeps calling a 12-14-year-old girl "not old enough to be hot yet" and dinging it as something the movie is doing wrong is...kinda creepy.
I remember watching goblet of fire when I was about to start seventh grade and I literally had to cover my eyes at "baby voldy" in the graveyard until I knew he was just a human actor again because I read the book.
Fun fact: Fleur Delacour actually got it easy in the first task. The dragon she faced, the Common Welsh Green, is actually the most harmless and smallest of the dragons. They are very much like wolves, prefering to avoid humans and preying on smaller mammals, like sheep. In fact, her dragon wouldn't even be part of the tournment, being only added because Harry got chosen by the Goblet of Fire.
@@mentaya11 When in comparison with a Chinese Fireball, a Swedish Short-Snout and a Hungarian Horntail... yeah, she got it really easier when you compare it with the others.
@@rafaelmatos5851 EasiER yes. EASY, no. Sure, every one of those is larger and more aggressive, but when you are a teenage witch with a wand a 20 foot flying fire breathing lizard is still freaking terrifying, despite not being the spiked 50 foot flying fire breathing lizard with a bad attitude.
Would be great. Unfortunately never going to happen. That would be enjoyable for me, you, or deep fans. That would NOT get the watch time retention or even average views. Cool idea though
For people that don’t regularly read as a past time, the Harry Potter series is extremely daunting, not to mention Bree and Ruff have kids, takes so much energy to do all of this as it is I’m sure
51:40 actually yes. Ilvermorny in Mount Greylock Massachusetts US uses a similar system as Hogwarts and has 4 houses. Thunderbird, Puckwudgie, Horned Serpent and Wampus. Apparently their school also incorporates Native American Magic. There is even sorting quizzes online for your Ilvermorny house.
The reason Neville was so traumatized during Moody's lesson was because his parents were tortured to madness by Barty Jr and a couple of other Death Eaters. They used the Cruciatus curse over and over. It's absolutely tragic. Neville is actually being raised by his paternal grandmother.
Ron being jealous of Harry may look a little childish, but once you take a deeper look, you get to fully understand why he react that way. Ron is the youngest out of six brothers, with each one having accomplished great things in Hogwarts: Bill (the oldest) was the most talented and popular student of his year (more than any his brothers would ever be); Charlie (the second oldest) was not only popular, but also a talented Quidditch player (his love for dragons was the only reason why he didn't become a professional Quidditch player playing for the national team); Percy, despite being unpopular, still got the best grades of his year and became Perfect and Head Boy (something only his oldest brother managed to do); and then we have Fred and George, who were both popular and infamous for their pranks. Even Ginny was able to outshine him... So, yeah... It's no wonder that, when his famous best friend got chosen to be a Triwizard champion, he just couldn't handle it and he discharged all his frustrations on Harry.
Ruff dropping his wand like Dan breaks them on set 😅 Edit: as for ruffs technique on the maze, make constant rights... ive always stuck to the left wall. It usually works. Basically put your hand on the left wall and follow. Edit 2: Notice how Ruff cried when the father realized and the others didnt. He understands ❤
Yep as you said SHIT ton of stuff left out of this film. Lots of context completely removed and some characters made one dimensional to save time. For example Krum wasn’t some stoic mean badass in the books dude was actually shy as hell and had a major crush on hermione. Dude just looked scary as hell. 36:30 And their was a reason why so many people were completely enamored by Fleur. She is 1 quarter Veela, which are beautiful magical creatures that could entrance and charm humans. Her being part Veela meant that she would mistakenly charm male students just by being around them. One of the few changes that made since making Beauxbaton an all girls school. Also the elves were completely cut out some of which were very important in later books The merpeople being homies with dumbledore so none of the children were truely in any danger
In the books Harry Was so fucking terrified and sure he was going to die when he was facing Voldemort in the graveyard he was legitimately just hoping by some miracle REGULAR policemen would turn up and save him although he knew that wasn’t gonna happen. These movies do start skipping through some important stuff, it’s been awhile since reading the books I can’t remember exactly where it’s placed, but in the books Harry finds a shard of a broken mirror and can see a reflection in it and it’s important to the story but in the films you don’t see this happen, Harry just suddenly has this broken piece of a mirror and there’s no explanation for it.
A big part of why this film is so different from the book, is that the director famously did not read the book before directing the film. It led to a lot of things that should not have been cut, being cut, beyond what was cut due to time constraints and the length of the book, the inclusion of scenes that weren't necessary, as well as scenes, things, and characters being vastly misinterpreted or misrepresented (Dumbledore yelling after Harry was selected vs asking him if he did it calmly; Beauxbatons and Durmstrang being single gendered schools instead of mixed; the maze in general, for example).
The two schools introduced are mixed/co-ed in the books. They changed it this way to make it funnier/ more rom-com like. Beauxbatons did have boys and Durmstrang had girls.
he says the use of unforgivable curses on human beings is a one way ticket to askaban, he used it on an insect so there is no crime committed there 20:10
So, Beauxbatons and Durmstrang are actually both coed in the books. Even, Ilvermorny the American wizarding school from the Fantastic Beasts was also a coed school. I don't know of any wizarding schools in the Harry Potter universe that were either just male or female schools.
Actually Ron in the book says to his mum he rather went to the ball naked. Molly went mad and said, fine go naked! And Harry, please take a picture of it for me. Because I need a good laugh!
50:44 if I remember correctly from the book the point of having ppl achieve different positions in the previous 2 tasks was that when they cometo the maze the people with more points got a head start into the maze. As fluer failed the 2nd task she was the last one to enter the maze by like 10m or something
It wasn't explained in the movie, but there were precautions taken to where the hostages under the lake weren't in any real danger. Harry didn't have to save Fleur's sister, she would've been just fine.
Fleur was still in the running for the maze because the tournament was based on a point system, not a win/lose streak. They get awarded points for anything that stands out. Like how Harry came in last but was awarded extra points for saving Fleurs sister.
One thing i did like is how they decided to extend the scene of Harry getting the egg since it was quite fast in the book, though the movie leaves out a small bit of him learning and nearly mastering the summoning charm which he uses to call for his broom.
Fun fact the scene when Hermione punched darco in the face, the actor that played darco said that he told emma to slap him for that scene and she ended up punching him instead
Goblet of Fire is my favorite of all the books and movies. The most important parts for me is when Harry and Cedric first get sent to the Graveyard, along with the part of the fight that was cut. Also the missing scenes with Moody leading up to Crouch Jr’s reveal after the fact.
The thing about books is, you can dedicate a whole chapter to a character or event that wont come back later in the story. You " cant do that" in movies. Everything revolves around the PLOT, if it doesnt move it foward, leave it out.
Another big part of the book on this one was the first 4-5 chapters where Harry starts standing up for himself more with the Vernon. Even Arthur Weasley stands up to the Dursley's and calls them out for being shitheads
@@dragonsvideos6737 Arthur is an awesome character. Remember that scene in the bookshop from the 2nd movie? Arthur actually throws hands and punches Malfoy for being so disrespectful. Also there's moments scattered throughout the books where Arthur is being a good father, and a good male role model.
The movie deciding that Durmstrang is a boy's school and Beauxbatons is a girl's school is because there's not really a more efficient way to explain "Germanic Dwarves" and "French Elves" (meaning the trope is an apt metaphor).
The largest gap in agree from Harry and Daniel was obviously during the filming of the 7th/8th movies, Harry turns 17 in the Deathly Hallows, and at the end of filming Daniel was 21. In this movie it was only about a year difference. Harry was 14 in his 4th year, Daniel turned 15 early in filming, so he was 15 for the majority of production. They really did an amazing job getting these movies out fast and keeping the kids close in their intended ages
The duel between Voldemort and Harry was interesting, and unique. If you remember back in the first movie, when Harry got his wand, he was told that his wand contained a Phoenix feather, and the phoenix in question only gave two feathers. One in Harry's wand, the other in Voldemort's wand. When two wands that are twin cores (such as Harry's and Voldemort's) try to duel, it will create a magic gold cage around the duelers, and the winner's wand (Harry was the victor) will force the other (voldemort) to show the spells it had casts in reverse. This effect is called "Priori Incantatem" and a stronger version of the Priori Incantato spell that was used on Harry's wand after the World Cup. In this case, since the previous several spells were of the Killing Curse, it also revealed the ghosts of those who were killed by that spell. In this case, Cedric, the old man, and Harry's parents.
"Filthy muggle mother" was a script mistake. It should've been "Filthy mudblood mother" 💜 I know he said this in the book: "You stand, Harry Potter, upon the remains of my late father,” [Voldemort] hissed softly. “A Muggle and a fool . . . very like your dear mother. But they both had their uses, did they not? Your mother died to defend you as a child... and I killed my father, and see how useful he has proved himself, in death...” The way Voldy said it here sounded better than it did in the movie tbh. Just a small knit pick. 💚 💜
he said it on purpose because he sees muggle-born as muggles, like when the poor witch was on trial in a later movie, accused of stealing a wand instead of the wand choosing her. Bellatrix calls Harry a half-blood for that same reason.
The movie completely removed the concept of points. By the time of the 3rd task the one with the most points gets an early lead in the maze while those with less points go in later. Fleur didnt retire from the tournament after the 2nd task. She just got last place
Probably my favorite "Book Vs. Movie" moment is Dumbledore with Harry's name. In the books, dumbledore in general is actively trying to be a parental figure to Harry, and for what is worth, the movies do a solid job most of the time, but here, what's supposed to be a calm moment of concern since he's confused that Harry was even put there, IN THE MOVIE, he's about to go John Wick on Harry LMAO
8:27 actually yes, they were meant to look “clanny” and give Nazi vibes because in the books that’s how they’re described, not so much the pointy hats but what they did and how they treated people
So, the first Harry Potter movie came out right as the Goblet of Fire *book* was released, and I always thought it was super clever that there's a part in the book where Hermione is trying to explain to Viktor Krum how to pronounce her name. Admittedly, at that time, I didn't know how to pronounce it, either. "Hermy-Own?" "HER-MY-OH-KNEE" "Her-My-Knee?" "HER. MY. OH. KNEE."
The old man murdered in the beginning was named Frank Bryce he served as a solider in World War 2 then he became the gardener and then the caretaker for the Riddle House Frank was the main suspect in the murder of the Riddle Family but was released for lack of evidence Voldemort aka Tom Riddle was the real killer and in the books Frank was a lot braver when confronting him.
My favourite thing in the books that isnt in the movies is that the weasleys do just punch people in the face. In the wizarding world they seem to only duel but the Weasleys can and will punch you in the face and its glorious. (i can think of three times- Arthur punches Lucious in the second one, ron punches malfoy at some point and the twins and harry three vs one malfoy after he makes fun on mrs weasley.) my headcannon is that Arthur in his love of muggles, saw like a boxing or a wrestling match, thought it was so cool and taught all his kids.

In the book, the champions' standings in points dictated which order they got to enter the maze; the higher the points, the earlier of a start. The movie had them all enter at the same time in different locations~
That's what he's known as yes. Technically however, after the addition of John Hurt as the war doctor, David Tennant became the 11th. :p Sorry for my "um actually" comment
When it comes to Harry's popularity with the students after he got chosen to be a Triwizard champion, it just depends where they stand. Hufflepuff clearly were against him, as they thought he was stealing the much overdued glory they so much deserved. Slytherins were against him... just because. Gryffindors fully supported Harry. Meanwhile, Ravenclaws were neutral about it. However, after the first task, only most of Slytherin house still continued to show their desdain for Harry, as Hufflepuff came to accept Harry as a champion after watching his performance against the Hugarian Horntail, even if their support would still go to Cedric.

No problem. Coming from a real Billy lol

13:35 the thing is, in the book it wasn't all girls school and all guys school, that was just because they thought we'd be too stupid to keep track of which school the tri-wizard champions were from.
Yeah... in fact, the student that asked Parvati to dance during the ball was from Beauxbatons, not Drumstrang.
Lucky guys
I’m pretty sure it was because they wanted to put more emphasis on growing up, puberty, crushes, etc. So they made all the boys love the Beaxbatons and the girls were in love with the Durmstrang students. I think I remember seeing an old interview of Mike Newell talking about why they went in that direction on an old DVD special features😂
They literally have different uniforms wtf.

The 8 confirmed locations being
Hogwarts (Scotland)
llvermorny (US)
Beauxbatons (France)
Durmstrang (Scandinavia either Sweden or Norway)
Castelobruxo (Brazil)
Koldovstoretz (Russia)
Mahoutokoro (Japan)

For Durmstrang, Viktor Krum plays on the Bulgarian team, so would that make Durmstrang a Bulgarian school?
Durmstrang and Beauxbatons are mixed schools too. The movie dont show it to highlight the rudeness of Durmstrang and the gentleness? of Beauxbatons
Daniel was 11, Emma was 10, and Rupert was 12 in the first movie. We really do watch those kids grow up in these movies.
Cedric's father's reaction to his death is genuinely some of the best acting in all of these movies. It feels so raw and just... It's perfect.🥲
Oh his reaction broke my heart more than Cedric's actual death. (although him asking Harry to bring his body to his father did an emotional damage to me)
You can just feel the emotion coming out of the actor as the scene plays out.

28. During the journey back to King's Cross, Hermione discloses that Rita Skeeter is an Animagus and that she managed to capture her in a jar.
i love this, good effort!

Sorta Stupid Editor: *Leaves out so much of this movie reaction*
I know I HATE this
There’s hope the 8 flims video will add in those missing flims
In the books, all schools are mixed. I never understood why the movie portrayed Beauxbatons and Durmstrang this way. Also, Durmstrang doesn't accept Muggleborn students.
Yeah, I have no idea why the writes/directors made this decision. It begs more questions
It was to keep clear which schools the champions were from
The_Real_Mr_Al looks like someone doesnt understand ptsd..
The movie skips all the drama from when the Weasleys retrieved Harry from the Dursleys for the World Cup. it is HILARIOUS

The trip to Egypt was part of the prize. It's like when someone wins a trip on The Price Is Right, they also give you a certain amount to spend on the trip
And the winnings allowed Ron to get a new wand!
the original wand Ron had was a handme down
Actually, no...

With the maze part, youre supposed put your right hand on the right side wall and keep walking without losing contact. Even if its a dead end and you're clearly making your way back down the same hallway, just keep on the right and youll find an exit.
Of course that assumes it's not a magical maze that changes as you walk through it.
This only works for a straightforward normal maze. It doesn't work on mazes that rearrange themselves or have traps.
TLDR doesn't work for this maze.
It's insane how Katie Leung's natural voice is different than the one she uses as Cho Chang's and Arcane's Caitlyn
Jeff Rawle is only in this movie for about 15 minutes and he delivers one of the most heartbreaking performanes in the entire franchise.
I love that Barty crouch jr. was one of the best professors the kids ever had (and like their only good dada professor that isnt lupin)
Radcliffe and Watson were 14 when they started filming Goblet of Fire. Grint was 15 and Felton (Draco) was 3 years older, so he was around 17 , 18.

You’re almost right: to solve a maze, you keep one hand on the same wall the entire time.
Ruff dropping his wand like Dan breaks them on set 😅
Edit: as for ruffs technique on the maze, make constant rights... ive always stuck to the left wall. It usually works. Basically put your hand on the left wall and follow.

Not to mention the whole, Barty Jr is supposedly already dead, thing.
@ yep had to stop myself or this comment would’ve become a Ted talk lol
Pretty sure this was the book that started the Percy story arc as well.

Mrs Weasly didnt make Rons Dress robes. They were just very vintage.
In the books, Krum gets the stitch but Bulgaria still loses because the knew they’d never catch up, so he ended it early
I can’t wait for you guys to watch the fifth movie. You’ll finally see the one character every fan despises most more than You-Know-Who himself
David tenant is also a marvel villain in show called Jessica jones which I recommend if any of you haven’t seen it.
38:57 thats so funny because that's what Ron threatens his mom with in the book when he first finds it, much earlier in the timeline.
he says the use of unforgivable curses on human beings is a one way ticket to askaban, he used it on an insect so there is no crime committed there 20:10
So, Beauxbatons and Durmstrang are actually both coed in the books.
Because I need a good laugh!
ron's actor was actually embarrassed by that dance scene with magonical. and similar to the movie didnt want ANYONE to talk about it
Fun Fact: There's a deleted scene of Igor arguing with Snape while he finds and punishes students for getting laid in the carriages at the Yule Ball.
50:44 if I remember correctly from the book the point of having ppl achieve different positions in the previous 2 tasks was that when they cometo the maze the people with more points got a head start into the maze. As fluer failed the 2nd task she was the last one to enter the maze by like 10m or something
80% blabbering; 7% reaction;13% redundant announcements.
Aww you skipped “DID YOU OUT YOUR NAME IN THE GOBLET OF FIRE” Dumbledore said calmly
The musical score and Amos wailing always brings me to tears.
One thing i did like is how they decided to extend the scene of Harry getting the egg since it was quite fast in the book, though the movie leaves out a small bit of him learning and nearly mastering the summoning charm which he uses to call for his broom.
"Did you put your name into the Goblet of Fire, Harry?" he asked calmly.
Ooof…if Cedric’s dad ever doesn’t make me cry there’s something wrong call a doctor 😂
The books state that technology isn't used in the Wizarding World because magic interferes with it, causing it not to work properly.
I never read the books so I was content with the films. But dang that sounds like it’s be awesome.
In the books Harry does get to keep the baby Horntail, can't remember the exact details but I'm fairly certain he kept it on his bedside table.
It should've been "Filthy mudblood mother" 💜
I know he said this in the book: "You stand, Harry Potter, upon the remains of my late father,” [Voldemort] hissed softly. “A Muggle and a fool . . . very like your dear mother. But they both had their uses, did they not? Your mother died to defend you as a child... and I killed my father, and see how useful he has proved himself, in death...”
The way Voldy said it here sounded better than it did in the movie tbh. Just a small knit pick. 💚 💜
he said it on purpose because he sees muggle-born as muggles, like when the poor witch was on trial in a later movie, accused of stealing a wand instead of the wand choosing her.
Bellatrix calls Harry a half-blood for that same reason.
@@artloveranimation That makes a lot of sense honestly.
I don’t think a mistake. I guess if she’s half-blood he probably views her as basically a muggle. It’s pure-blood or nothing for him.
Moody's like the Wizard equivalent of a War Veteran. so yeah, he is "a beast."
"Hermy-Own?"
"HER-MY-OH-KNEE"
"Her-My-Knee?"
"HER. MY. OH.
"hair growing potion"
"hairy potion"
"harry potter"
YOU'RE NOT CLEVER JOANNE ROWLING
My favourite thing in the books that isnt in the movies is that the weasleys do just punch people in the face. In the wizarding world they seem to only duel but the Weasleys can and will punch you in the face and its glorious. (i can think of three times- Arthur punches Lucious in the second one, ron punches malfoy at some point and the twins and harry three vs one malfoy after he makes fun on mrs weasley.) my headcannon is that Arthur in his love of muggles, saw like a boxing or a wrestling match, thought it was so cool and taught all his kids.
The "That's my boy!!!" seen was always sad, but damn it hits so much harder when you're older enough to empathize with Amos.
"Capaldi's where I stopped as well"
Boy, yall are missing out. I never imagined it but as much as I love Matt and David, Capaldi was my favorite Doctor by the end of his run. He's INCREDIBLE.
Neville’s parents were tortured w. That curse n lost their minds. So he took way more personally bc he saw wat his parents went thru when he saw that spire suffering. But it’s way worse for ppl than a spider.
I don’t think it’s a spider, it had antennas and little pincher things but I don’t know the name
@@dragonsvideos6737 There's a real animal that looks like that, I think it's called a Whip Spider. They're a type of arachnid.
Loving these Harry Potter reactions would love for you to react to the 20th anniversary reunion!
When they finish the movies, of course!
"always make a right turn" works for mazes only if they don't have looped parts, also that method is used in the old windows 95 maze screensaver
What do Harry Potter and Steven Universe have in common? They both want to see a Giant Woman.
Fun fact Cho is Caitlyn voice actress from arcane
Oh hell yeah...
I really hope she does more VA work. She was awesome as Caitlyn in Arcane
In the book, the champions' standings in points dictated which order they got to enter the maze; the higher the points, the earlier of a start. The movie had them all enter at the same time in different locations~
Radcliffe was 15/16 filming this. The actress playing Moaning Myrtle is nearly FORTY. knowing that the scene with them in the tub is just... ew.
6:25
Wrong, Boom. Violence is NEVER the answer/solution......it is the question. And the answer is "Yes." Lol
It’s my boy is burned in my mind ill never be able to unhear that line he gave his all for it
4:04 "He spark in this movie?"
-Yeah, with a green light
After they watch all the films, they should totally watch A Very Potter Musical that will make fun of everything. Super funny stuff!
david Tennant was the 10th doctor 😅
That's what he's known as yes. Technically however, after the addition of John Hurt as the war doctor, David Tennant became the 11th. :p
Sorry for my "um actually" comment
@Platinum-db8rc haha good point! its all very timey wimey 💙💙
@@jesssmith6004 lol
Petition to have you guys watch good omens together on TH-cam both seasons 🎉🎉🎉
50:50 Yes, that's it. It was literally about who gets to go into the labyrinth first.
