      bro i recently played hogwarts legacy like two months ago, and holy moly, it is a beautiful game. the castle and the world you can explore are so insanely detailed. the only problem is that you get addicted to it amd you 100% the game relatively quick. wish the game was bigger.

    It's been a quick minute since you've watched Sorcerer's/Philosopher's Stone. Glade to see you're continuing.

    One of the things I love about this film is that it plays fair. You can see Tom's diary getting slipped into the cauldron; it's right there if you look for it. The clues are there.

      And 16:41 is the point where you should have figured out that the monster is a snake. Then later come the dead roosters, and so on. The fact that Hermione was the only one in 50 years to figure it all out is just top notch comedy. 😂👍🏻

    This one has my two favorite Hagrid/Robbie Coltrane moments in the whole series. 2nd favorite is the ovation he receives from the students and faculty of Hogwarts at the end. My favorite is the part when he is comforting Hermione telling her “don’t you think on it”. It’s beautifully acted by Coltrane (RIP) and always gives me the feels.

  • @BrandonPhilipps-r9b
    @BrandonPhilipps-r9b 14 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

    Hagrid's biggest regret in life, as he'd tell Harry while drunk at Aragog's funeral, was that he did not ignore Dumbledore's orders to bring Harry to the Dursleys. He wished he'd kept Harry and raised him, if though he admitted he didn't know what sort've life he could've offered Harry as the adopted son of a humble groundskeeper not allowed to do magic and worried he'd be ashamed of having a half-breed "Da". Harry almost cried, then told Hagrid "it'd been a brilliant life...can't think of a better Da than you." Hagrid did one of those great honking noises into the hankerchief of many colors, "Great man, Dumbledore, so great that there's oafs like meeself tha' forget he's just a man. Folk are wrong more oft than right; way of life. The Professor would be the first to admit tha'. I shoulda dun tha'."
    I remember crying when I read that, imagining Harry enjoying a happy childhood with Papa Hagrid at Hogwarts; his semi-indestructible Horcrux nature protecting him from Hagrid's less baby friendly creatures, maybe with a pet Hydra or something and Sirius pretending to be a stray that Harry adopted in a sort of reverse-Pettigrew situation.

    *I'm not gonna lie....when I first saw the basilisk in this movie, I had the same reaction Ron had with Aragog. (side note: I am NOT fearful of snakes or spiders). Also, every time I hear Hermione say "She's a little sensitive" to describe Moaning Myrtle, I always have the same first thought: A LITTLE sensitive?"*
    *Side note: I always have the thought of "Harry's lucky Fawkes clawed out the Basilisk's eyes, otherwise that rock trick in the tunnel wouldn't have worked at all", combined with "Don't you dare sneeze, Harry"*

      In the book, Fawkes did claw out the basilisk’s eyes. And Chris Columbus, the director of Philosopher’s Stone and Chamber of Secrets, all things considered made these films faithful adaptations to the books while taking creative liberties when he can.

    Kenneth Branagh, according to the likes of my father, it the Shakespearean actor of our time, even better than the likes of Sir Ian McKellen. Then you have Jason Isaacs, who's one of those actors who knows how to play a good villain.
    I keep seeing people post that Harry Potter should have given some of his inheritance to the Weasleys because they're so poor. Everytime I see that, I first think that even if Harry offered, the Weasleys were proud and humble enough not to accept it and then that while yes, Harry inherited the Potter family fortune, unlike the Malfoys, Harry is not the kind of person who flaunts his wealth around.
    I have seen a hilarious Halloween costume idea, in which new parents dress as Hogwarts students in Herbology class and then dress their newborn as a mandrake.
    This film introduces the Wizarding World's equivalent of race, with society divided between Purebloods (all magic lineage for at least 2-3 generations), Halfbloods (one magical and one muggle parent), and Muggleborns (first-generation wizard/witch). It occurred to me that our main trio includes all three; Harry is a Halfblood, Ron is a Pureblood, and Hermione is a Muggleborn.
    "Can you think of a better way of spending detention that helping me answer fan mail?" Mr. Filch, what was that thing about detention being serving by hanging by my thumbs in the dungeon?
    It's universal - when in need of medical attention, go to a professional, NOT "PROFESSOR" LOCKHART!!!!! Also, the potion Harry has to drink to regrow his bones, Skele-Gro, was developed by Linfred of Stinchcombe a.k.a. the Potterer, the founding patriarch of the Potter Family and Harry's ancestor. The Potters made their fortune in potions.
    It wasn't just you; a number of fans who Moaning Myrtle was played by Daniel Radcliffe in drag because of how similar the characters look, but no. Moaning Myrtle is played by Shirley Henderson, who was 37 when making Chamber of Secrets to Daniel Radcliffe's 13.
    I found this when looking it up for another reaction channel - it was Fawkes who gave the two tail feathers that became the cores of Harry and Voldemort's wands.
    "I didn't know you could read." was 100% ad lib from Tom Felton.
    "Why spiders?! Why couldn't it be 'follow the butterflies!'?" - This and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King are not for arachnophobes.
    So Salazar Slytherin, a man nicknamed "Serpent Tongue," whose emblem was a snake, who could speak Parseltongue, overall a man with a clear affinity for snakes and the creature the Ministry believes he hid in his Chamber of Secrets ... was a spider? Either Slytherin made a very off-brand move or, and I think this more likely, Cornelius Fudge is a bureaucratic idiot.
    Tom Marvolo Riddle = I Am Lord Voldemort. So not only was Voldemort once a Hogwarts student, he is the Heir of Slytherin.
    Jason Isaacs has spoken with the director about an exit line and so ad libed, "Then let us hope that Mr. Potter will always be around to save the day." Not knowing about this, Daniel Radcliffe than ad libed, "Don't worry; I will be." Isaacs said in an interview that this was his favorite line in the series, messing a 13-year-old give such a bold response. Isaacs also gave the special effects team some work by swinging his cane around to hit Dobby and was about to kill Harry (he just said the first spell he could think of, which was the Killing Curse).
    "There's no Hogwarts without you, Hagrid." - It may have been 2 years, but that line will now always be TOO SOON!!!!!!!! Robbie Coltrane, RIP!

      @Sobsilus 4 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @ „Officially“ by the author, but not within the universe since there is no ministry record or anything about blood status.
      The expressions 'pure-blood', 'half-blood' and 'Muggle-born' have been coined by people to whom these distinctions matter, and express their originators' prejudices. As far as somebody like Lucius Malfoy is concerned, for instance, a Muggle-born is as 'bad' as a Muggle. Therefore Harry would be considered only 'half' wizard, because of his mother's grandparents. But technically he is a pureblood, because on a generic level (and that is how magic works in this universe) he is born from two magical parents.

    Spoilers alert (kind of)
    I felt the contest was an unnecessary plot, illogical levels of danger, too much of an elaborated hoax just to put Harry in a particular location for the ritual. With the amount of teachers and administrators that infiltrate Hogwarts, they could have infiltrated a new teacher with a port key, snatch Harry and save 95 minutes of film.

    • @Sobsilus
      @Sobsilus 4 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      If Rowling would have taken Harry‘s trauma seriously, he would have been much more like Snape in personality. Harry makes friends easily, is somewhat charismatic and popular, and even with the Dursleys he is far too vocatice for someone who suffered his level of abuse. At the same time, he can‘t even find a quantum of empathy as Draco gets publicly berated in the book store by Lucious for his poor grades.
      As with everything else, Rowling wanted the abuse for a tragic backstory, but didn‘t give a fuck about the implications and consequences. Also, if Harry was so horribly abused, how has he ever considered their house his home so that Lily‘s protection worked? Can‘t have it both ways.
      Rowling is neither informed nor educated enough to write about any of the topics she tackled, but she did it anyway. The result is the half-hearted worldbuilding and character development we got served. Imagine what a great story it could have been if it was created directly by the people who made the films?
