1:06:05 Crabbe, Goyle, Macnair. Crabbe and Goyle seniors, Draco's friends fathers and Macnair, the guy you saw in third movie who was supposed to execute Buckbeak.
1:16:36 Yeah, Actually Voldemort wanted to become the dark art teacher back then after he finished school, but Dumbeldore refused, so he cursed this position that no one would be able to hold this job for more than one year. True lore.
I love how you guys have subtitles on, because most of us miss out on details in these films mostly because of the English accent in these movies and I love how you pause the video to talk about a scene rather than talking over the scene. Superb reaction guys!
I love your reactions SO MUCH! You pay great attention to detail and are so invested. It makes me so happy. I've watched a lot of reactions to HP and you two are easily in my top 5 favorites! Can't wait for the rest of your journey!!!
A little backstory on the Triwizard Tournament. It was first held in the 14th century but was extremely dangerous and many contestants died. This led to it be discontinued in 1792. So by the time Harry was in his 4th year, the tournament had not be held in a little over 200 years. The ministry was very reluctant to revive the games but eventually it was agreed upon with the stipulation that all contestants had to be of age, which is 17 in the wizarding year. Unfortunately, Cedric died during this tournament and as a result, the Triwizard Tournament has not been held since.
Victor Krum did play in the big leagues but was a “senior“ and wizards become adults at 17. That is why he was the greatest seeker in the world, and also Harry was kind of like the youngest secret chosen if that makes sense lol
Did you noticed that the WB logo changes every movie to reflect the tone of the story? The First One was Blue ad Yellow ad Happy and vibrant... Now we are already at gray...
At 1:14:08 when Hermione says "Everything is going to change" you can see how tired Emma Watson looks. This was around the time, when she told the producers, that she would not come back for movie 5, because fame hat begun to hit her and she felt alone and tired and didnt want the attention anymore. Luckily she ´d stay. Also, one funfact about Fleur. All the boys seem to fall in love with her on sight. Thats because Fleur is not human. She is part Veela. Veela are creatures from real world mysterys and fairy tales. A Veela is a naturespirit that apears human and has an intrancing power towards young boys and men, making them, fall in love on sight. Veela hair is also a core ingridiant of wands, like Dragon heart string, Unicorn hair or Phoenix fether.
I actually expected Mrs.O to be a Ravenclaw because she is so clever, but houses are not always determined by what you are, but what you value. Hermione is smart too, but she said to Harry in the first movie that she thinks bravery is better. Being a Hufflepuff means that you prioritize relationships and fairness and hard work, which is not a bad thing!
In the books, Bill Weasley the oldest brother of Ron was a Headboy kinda like student council president and his second oldest brother Charlie, the one they talked about in Sorcerer's Stone when Norbert the newly hatched dragon was brought to Romania, Charlie became a Quidditch Captain when he was in Hogwarts. Also Percy Weasley, the third oldest brother, was a prefect then became Headboy too at Hogwarts. So Ron as a middle child hopes and desires to become a Headboy and Quidditch Captain just like his older brothers and that's what the mirror of Erised showed in the first movie. In the books, Harry met Charlie too during the first task since Charlie and other wizards were bringing dragons for the first task.
No Hogwarts isn’t the only co-ed school, both Durmstrang and Beauxbatons are co-ed as well. Nicholas Flamel the creator of the philosophers stone went to Beauxbatons
Exactly, the movies simplified the schools to girls/boys only for the ease of visual story telling. Also there are many other Wizarding schools around the world!
I look forward to your reactions to this series. All I gotta say at this point is: "Strap in and get ready". Gets wild now. Thanks for sharing with all of us.
So enjoying your journey through these movies! The 5th movie is my favorite out of all of them, so I'm excited to see you get there. Out of the 4 you've seen so far, I like Azkaban best. I just t hink the writing, with going back in time and all, was brilliant. Also, I'm a fellow Hufflepuff, and my husband and son are Ravenclaws. But our 10 year old daughter is a Slytherin....we keep a close eye on her, hee hee!
In the book, it's explained that the Triwizard Tournament hadn't been held for a very long time because of how dangerous it could be. They only brought it back because they added the rule that only those 17 or older could participate, which basically limits eligibility to people in their final year at Hogwarts when they are already considered adults. One thing that is not explained by the movie that is really important is that Harry and Voldemort's wands connected because their phoenix feather cores came from the same phoenix, so the wands are like brothers and it is extremely difficult or impossible to make them fight each other. The result is a phenomenon called Priori Incantatum which causes wands to "spit up" an echo of the spells it cast most recently, which is why Harry saw Cedric, the old muggle man, his mother, and father that night, because those were the last people killed with Voldemort's wand.
The actress who plays Moaning Myrtle was around 35 at the filming. Gee, Gills from "Gilly Weed". Just remember what Voldemort looked like just before he was dropped into the cauldron. Barty Jr's tongue movement was of a snake. After you finish the 8th movie, you should watch the 20th Anniversary video. Then there are the Fantastic Beasts movies.
Victor Krum is indeed playing for the big leagues. He plays for the England National team. Hi is still in high school but is 17, which is an adult in the wizzard world and he is also the best seeker in the world. He's wizzard Lebron or Kobe
You were talking about Sirius Black in the burning coals and wondered if that other movie had gotten the idea from this. I don't know but I can't tell you that the first movie to use this animated burning coals (or lava) effect was The Fellowship of the Ring. CGI programmers developed new algorithms to render that effect.
Also when harry and Voldemort were clashing the reason his parents appeared and was only possible because they have twin core in their wands showed the latest people killed by Voldemort.
Let's motherfawkin' goooo. I been waiting on this one! Excited to see y'all's reaction to the last four films as well, y'all are in for a wild ride! 😂✨
*I don't care how many times I see this movie. The ritual to restore Voldemort, and seeing him rise out of the cauldron will always simultaneously send shivers racing up AND down my spine and make me nauseous.* *Trivia:* *They got the movie appearance of Voldemort almost identical to the book. There is one missing detail: in the book, Voldemort is described as having blood-red eyes with a slit-like pupil. It is understandable why they didn't use creature contact lenses on Ralph Fiennes in the movie adaptations since it would eliminate the realness of Voldemort's threatening presence.* *The arachnid the imposter Mad-Eye Moody was demonstrating The 3 Unforgivable Curses on was a tailless whip scorpion.* *As someone who was sorted into Hufflepuff on The Wizarding World website, Cedric Diggory's death hit hard. Especially seeing Amos run onto the quidditch pitch and hearing him shout "That's my son!! That's my boy!!"* *Backstory:* *Neville was traumatized by the Cruciatus Curse's usage because his parents were tortured into insanity with it.*
Hey, welcome to Gryffindor 🦁 😊 Our house stands for courage, chivalry, bravery, determination, nerve and daring represented by the lion in our coat of arms. The house colours are scarlett and gold (wear them with pride) in honour of our founder Godric Gryffindor. Our common room is located in Gryffindor tower and our house ghost is the very likable Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington (Nearly headless Nick - but he doesn´t like to be called that 🤭). I hope the lovely lady will be properly welcomed into house Hufflepuff as well (btw Cedric Diggory is.......was an outstanding member of Hufflepuff. RIP) Yours sincerely Toby W. (Gryffindor head boy)
20:45 no they were saying offering him up as bait cause they don’t know why his name was put in and who made the goblet choose him as a fourth. 32:11 he’s not allowed to bring one with him but he can use a magic spell to access it. In this tournament you can only have your wand with you and use any magic spells you can to succeed. 1:00:56 the Weasley twins were taking bets on the first and second task so they are more than likely doing it on this task. 1:12:08 snake.
I know you guys said that Cedric only showed up this movie and already he's the Hogwarts Champion, but we've actually seen him before. He's the Hufflepuff Seeker. During the Prisoner of Azkaban, he was the one racing Harry for the Snitch in that rain storm when the Dementors came and he was struck by lightning. Also, on another note, when Rita is interviewing Harry, Harry says that it's a broom cupboard, and Rita says that he "should be right at home, then," how does SHE know that Harry was used to being in a cupboard. Was she spying on him at the Dursleys while he was growing up there, somehow? That line always felt off to me. And she was always such a jerk character. But, that...she knows something.
The beat part I'd personally say as someone that likes to eat is that Hufflepuff's common room is right next to the schools kitchen. You could go grab a snack and compliment the house elves to make you some late dinner.
Goddamn, brother was cookin' all movie long. Always two steps ahead. I don't remember if they said it in the first movie, but right off the bat in the first book and throughout the rest, it's underlined the Defense Against the Dark Arts teaching position is cursed and that's why nobody can hold it for more than a year.
24:50 Howl's Moving Castle ... Howl's Moving Castle (novel) 1986 and Howl's Moving Castle (film) 2004. The fire in the movie is a Fire demon named Calcifer. He's loud, excitable, and adorable. He's also caring and kind, and often shares information.
Harry won big money (wizard money, but money he can use) when he won the TriWizard Cup, but you don't know that unless you read the books.... and he does something interesting with the money too... but you have to read the books to know that, too. PoA has always been my fav movie. the last book has always been my favorite. awesome reaction!! The wizard world is huge... there is an american wizard school.... you'll learn about that in "Fantastic Beasts" TRILOGY!!
The Quidditch World Cup was the "big league", as you perfectly summarized it. It was the top two professional league teams of the year out of all teams around the world. Viktor Krum, who is 17, is of age to play as a professional while still being a student. Also, the other schools are supposed to be co-ed rather than one being an all-girls school and the other being an all-boys. But the film portrayed it incorrectly. Also, I think the schools that participated in the Triwizard Tournament were randomly selected to compete with one another. It could just as easily have the American school of witchcraft and the Chinese school (I'm assuming there's a Chinese school, I know there's an American, there's at least one in Africa, and so many more).
This movie is so cool! Fighting dragons and merpeople, and the final showdown with Voldemort was gripping! Also who doesn’t love a fun school dance with teenage angst?
I’m a Slytherin in 2 tests then in a 3rd it said I was a Ravenclaw. 24:00 you’re thinking of the 2004 movie “Howl’s Moving Castle” character, Calcifer. He is a Fire Demon in a magical contract with Wizard Howl. He used to be a falling star, whom Howl was able to catch before he fell to earth and extinguished. THIS is a book character, Sirius Black, TALKING through fire to another book character, Harry Potter. He is no a demon. So neither story borrowed from the other. 😅 people communicating using elements as a medium is common in witchcraft and wizardry tale along with using animals as well. 29:40 “So they’re about to watch people DIE?!” Me: “…. 👀…. ………….🥹”
When Severous suggested offering Harry up as "bait" he meant to find out what is actually happening. How Harry's name got in there in the 1st place etc.
I would like you to understand why Ron is acting the way he does. He comes from a big family whom all have some type of success. Bill is a curse breaker. Charlie was great at quidditch and works with dragons. Percy loves to talk about the fact that he's head boy and ends up working for the ministry. Fred and George are popular and loved by tons of people for their sense of humor. Ginny is the only girl and she's great at quidditch too. His parents were always trying for a girl, but ended up with another boy, that being Ron, and then they had Ginny. All of his siblings are good at something. His mother can't even bother to remember he hates the color maroon and corned beef sandwiches, yet she always knits him a Christmas sweater of that very color and often packs him those sandwiches. Hermione is extremely intelligent. And his best friend is Harry Potter, the boy who lived, the chosen one. Though Harry doesn't like the attention, Ron has always been envious. He feels invisible. His own family seems to forget about him sometimes. Everyone at school knows him as Harry's friend who's not as good as he is. He doesn't crave glory, he just wants to be seen and appreciated. He's also at the age of puberty. Your homones rage and you can't contain strong emotions. They just slip out and you don't really care because you're fed up. I wish people would understand this and cut Ron some slack. They act like he should always be happy and peaceful.. as any if those people who criticize him have never been that way at one time. I don't like it when people project onto others and blame them for what they don't like about themselves. So thank you for sticking up for Ron!! Not many reactors do, and it's really annoying.
54:15 - Harry Potter expert here for any questions you might have. In general they don't "have to" do it. It's a nice tradition like the Olympics. But the Tournament was notorious for being extremely dangerous: many champions died while competing, and it was discontinued at some point in or after 1792, due to the high death toll. In 1994, what you are watching now, the Tournament was revived with restrictions in place in an attempt to stop potential deaths (like needing to be over age of 17). You get big money price if you win this, and you get eternal glory in the hall of fame (if you want to become famous wizard or something, it can be nice to add it to your resume). Hope I could help.
Brilliant deduction, Detective October! I don't see it very often that someone figures out the Polyjuice arc before it gets revealed. This is when we really start to see how dark the series gets. Hope you guys are ready cause this one only scratched the surface. The dance scene is probably my favourite Maggie Smith scene in the whole series, I always get a kick out of Ron being awkward and his brothers ripping him for it.
Would you put your name in the Goblet of Fire?

This is an amazing explanation
In Aramaic, Aveda Kedavra means "Let the thing be destroyed"
(gives a standing ovation for the top notch explanation)
Interesting. "Amen" also means "let it be done".
Thank you!
I think you’re the only one to ever put that together. My jaw dropped when you said that.

Yes, that was impressive!
I like your theory of Harry still being under the stairs at the Dursley house and just doing hard drugs imagining all of this 😂
To be clear, Mad-Eye wasn't a bounty hunter; his job was more analogous to, like, a wizarding FBI agent.

1:06:05 Crabbe, Goyle, Macnair. Crabbe and Goyle seniors, Draco's friends fathers and Macnair, the guy you saw in third movie who was supposed to execute Buckbeak.
Keep the Harry Potter reacts coming!! Great vid guys 💪🏻
"Harry, take my body back, will you? Take my body back to my father."
That scene gets me every time. 😢
When harry said “acio fire bolt” with his wand it summoned the broom, the broom is the fire bolt he received at the end of prisoner of askaban
1:16:36 Yeah, Actually Voldemort wanted to become the dark art teacher back then after he finished school, but Dumbeldore refused, so he cursed this position that no one would be able to hold this job for more than one year. True lore.
19:38
A meme is that in the book it says, and i quote:
' "Did you put your name in the goblet of fire" dumbledore asked calmly'
I love how you guys have subtitles on, because most of us miss out on details in these films mostly because of the English accent in these movies and I love how you pause the video to talk about a scene rather than talking over the scene. Superb reaction guys!
I love your reactions SO MUCH! You pay great attention to detail and are so invested. It makes me so happy. I've watched a lot of reactions to HP and you two are easily in my top 5 favorites! Can't wait for the rest of your journey!!!
I got to laugh so much when he said: "he said Abra Cadabra" ahahhahahaha
Saying „He is not fighting fair, he is using illegal spells“ to Voldemort is the most hufflepuff thing to say ever 🥹😄
lol
yup
Barty Crouch Jr. was played by David Tennant, my favorite Doctor of Doctor Who fame.
RIP Professor McGonagall. Maggie Smith died earlier this year.
If memory serves me correctly, Fluer is only a quater Veela, her mother is half Veela, half human.
@dinodasbunce6224 true. So not fully human 😉
@@thomasnieswandt8805 Yes. I just thought that I would expand on what you wrote.
I'm so glad that ron got to become prefect
@khushiii5046 yea he deserves it.
Glad I'm here as a subscriber to see you guys react to HP for the first time. Iconic.
My favorite is 5, but that is probably because of how much I loved book 5.
Same here!
Cedrics death is the turning point of the whole franchise. Thing's become a lot more serious from here
"I'm hanging out with the main characters over here" 😂😂
Love your reactions! You guys are so observant and engaged which makes it way more enjoyable 😊
I look forward to your reactions to this series. All I gotta say at this point is: "Strap in and get ready". Gets wild now. Thanks for sharing with all of us.
So happy to see you guys!!!
CALMLY!!!
This is the comment we came for.
@@joshhutton9534 yeah the motherfuker never got the message
"He's half frog.", haha, I almost spit out my drink! Great reaction!
Bułgaria, not England
@DJLawrence yea
"HARRY, DID YOU PUT YOUR NAME IN THE GOBLET OF FIRE ?", Dumbledore said calmly
"Hey go study the chinese zodiac" - that was incredibly witty and funny dude.
Hey, ill admit I'm a Slytherin. Not all of us are Draco's
Loved the look on his face when he realized Moody had been sipping on polyjuice potion 💀 can't wait for the next one.
"he said Abracadabra" had me laughing so much. Seriously the funniest thing I've heard in a Harry Potter reaction.
Also I love that Mrs. October still won't say Voldemort's name, my girl is INVESTED🤣😭
hhahaha he looks like the guy who says yeah baby! lol! i think you mean austin powers right!? lmao thats soooo funny
In the books, there was a lot more that went on in the maze, but this is my personal favorite hp movie
The animated movie you referenced is Howl's Moving Castle. It was adapted by Hayao Miyazaki from the novel by Diana Wynne Jones.
Got so excited seeing this when I first opened TH-cam and then remembered I’ve already watched it 3x on patreon 😂
You are the best!!!
*I don't care how many times I see this movie. The ritual to restore Voldemort, and seeing him rise out of the cauldron will always simultaneously send shivers racing up AND down my spine and make me nauseous.*
*Trivia:*
*They got the movie appearance of Voldemort almost identical to the book. There is one missing detail: in the book, Voldemort is described as having blood-red eyes with a slit-like pupil. It is understandable why they didn't use creature contact lenses on Ralph Fiennes in the movie adaptations since it would eliminate the realness of Voldemort's threatening presence.*
*The arachnid the imposter Mad-Eye Moody was demonstrating The 3 Unforgivable Curses on was a tailless whip scorpion.*
*As someone who was sorted into Hufflepuff on The Wizarding World website, Cedric Diggory's death hit hard. Especially seeing Amos run onto the quidditch pitch and hearing him shout "That's my son!! That's my boy!!"*
*Backstory:*
*Neville was traumatized by the Cruciatus Curse's usage because his parents were tortured into insanity with it.*
Hey, welcome to Gryffindor 🦁 😊
Our house stands for courage, chivalry, bravery, determination, nerve and daring represented by the lion in our coat of arms.
RIP)
Yours sincerely
Toby W. (Gryffindor head boy)
The YEAH BABY guy!!!😂😂😂
11:27 Hogwarts sang a magical song, the school’s alma mater; no matter what melodies you put the lyrics to, it still comes out perfectly.
"He looks like he's going to invent something "at Ron's suit is diabolical 😭
Your sweater is so nice Mrs. October. You guys are fun to watch. Thanks 😊👍
Wormtail: Avadakadavra
Him: He said abracadabra😭😂😂😂
The beat part I'd personally say as someone that likes to eat is that Hufflepuff's common room is right next to the schools kitchen. You could go grab a snack and compliment the house elves to make you some late dinner.
"Who's a good house elf? You are! Yes you are!"
"Howl's moving castle" is the movie with the little fire guy (he's called Calcifer)
The "old man" @9:59 is actually our old boy, Walder Frey from GoT!
1:17:50 There is a reason there is a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher each year, but not something that can be discussed just yet.
29:40 “So they’re about to watch people DIE?!”
Me: “…. 👀…. ………….🥹”
I am LOVING all your reactions to the Harry Potter series!!! My favorite couple for reactions 😊
When Severous suggested offering Harry up as "bait" he meant to find out what is actually happening. How Harry's name got in there in the 1st place etc.
Girl, I’m a Hufflepuff too!!! My kids sorting hat sorted me 😂 And honestly it’s pretty spot on. ❤
Yay!!! I guessed your houses correctly! 😂 exactly as expected
18:31 actually, it used a different actor, but in the third movie, it was Cedric who got hit by lightning while playing quidditch.
"Floor Decor!" 😂
Fleur had a bubble over her mouth. She pulled out of the task because of the grindylows.
IVE BEEN WAITING I LOVE YOUR REACTIONS!!!!!!
Neville practicing to dance is one of my all time favorite scenes from the entire series 😊🥰
" You already know vengeance is" had me dying 😂😂😂😂
You two are the cutest! I really enjoy your reviews
Cedric def got his vampire job from how well he acted in this movie!
Not me waiting for you guys to post this and now we about to log into work and see that you guys posted this video so now I have to watch it
