My daughter-in-law went to a dentist for a checkup, she was 30 at the time with no fillings etc... (perfect teeth) , The dentist told her she needed 14 fillings. She decided to get a second opinion and the next one said she needed 5 fillings so she went to a third who had a good reputation and was told she did not need any treatments and said her teeth were great and what did she use on them. She told him she used a natural toothpaste, not colgate etc. I have never trusted dentists since.

I'm 69, and have had a mouth full of cavities since an adolescent, by the time I was a teenager my molars top and bottom, left and right had almagam mercury fillings. I believe microwaves actually vaporized the mercury poisoning my brain, making me "crazy", but I digress. I had all the mercury fillings removed/replaced 25 years ago, and detoxed using various protocols ever since. Unfortunately I had a "crown" done a couple years ago, and my dentist keeps suggesting another one. It was torture, over an hour of drilling, almost two hours total - and expensive. I've learned so much from Dr. Ellie's videos, which are helping me save my teeth, and health in general - which begins in our mouths. I sincerely appreciate these videos, and need to watch more!

I have a similar history to yours. Finally, I got my worst root canal crowned tooth removed (after the eye on that side started to have issues!!), and there was black rot at the removed root area. Try an infrared camera (same kind they use to detect heat leaks in houses). Any infected area in the jaw should be hotter. I used my contractor's camera before I got the tooth removed. Use a real oral surgeon, not a dentist/endo. Good luck!

I’m really curious why we are asked to be gentle with our teeth and when you go to the dentist for cleaning they aren’t gentle at all. I developed deep curves around gums due to this for which I was later offered restorative procedure. To restore the damage they created 😅

    • @mariecarton8611

You need to stop getting those cleanings. The hygienists are not properly trained to interfere with teeth. Floss gently and massage gums gently upwards only on liwer gums and downwards on upper gums several times a day. Better bloodsupply will harden them and improve thr strength of the feeth.

I can still eat but really need to get dentures I guess. Been putting it off for yrs. I have always been thirsty and find I always need a drink with me. I have always been told that dehydration probably caused the teeth issues. Sometimes I wonder if I wasn't low in some nutrient. I did drink soda 🥤 a lot as a kid like all day everyday so theirs that. 1. Sipping water all day long 2. The Acidity in your mouth pulls minerals from your teeth. The length of time your mouth is acidic. Stopped the acidity being prolonged. Take a xyilotol right after you eat in a gum/mint form. Don't snack or drink for an hour after a meal. Baking soda and Peroxide strip biofilm from your teeth that it needs. So does a cleaning at the dentist. The secret to not having a cleaning is to ask your Dentist if you need one. Following these protocols will allow you to no longer need one.
It's like taking an antibiotic when you're healthy.
This is a new concept so most dentist won't know all this information, so you will have to work with them to help them understand.

I started following Dr. Ellie’s protocol about one year ago. I use her recommended toothpaste, rinses, and bought the recommended toothbrushes and silent. I’ll mints. My mouth is completely transformed! I also stopped all the water sipping. I went from having my teeth cleaned three times a year to now down to one time a year and I’m honestly considering, holding off longer this year. As she suggested, my teeth and gums actually felt worse after the cleaning. My dentist uses a mechanical device for tooth cleaning not baking soda or water jetting. I recommend following her advice to the letter, including using the original formula Listerine with eucalyptus oil. The other rinse isn’t the same, at least for me. I admire your work doctor.

It also depends a lot on the dental clinic. Some places require dentists to earn the business a certain amount of money or else they get in trouble, so they need to sell as much as they can. Others get paid by the hour and do what they need to do. There's no reason for them to hurt others mouths since their paycheck stays the same no matter how many or how few cleanings they do.

48yo male with no fillings here. I went to the dentist for the first time in 8 years yesterday for a check up because my wife guilted me in to it - they did tell me last time that I didn’t need to come back as often as my family, but apparently they didn’t mean to leave it 8 years!? 😂
I’m interested to now learn that I don’t really need a clean if I play my cards right. I did have some plaque build up which they removed, however given I’m not planning on going back again for an as yet undefined number of years, I will definitely make some changes to manage that better.

I bought a book, how to cure tooth decay, taught me a lot. Xylitol mints, there is one here, but it has other things in it, and plays up with my decay (check what ingredients are on the bootle). People get conditions where they get dry mouth and watery saliva. There are various reasons for this. Nutrition you have supplied the saliva, but there are conditions that cause the saliva glands to malfunction, but also the pathway that activates the bone building enzyme your saliva uses to bind the minerals to your teeth. A little bit complicated for those with problems but worth looking up. Maybe doctor Ellie can do a video on it?

00:01🚰 Frequently sipping liquids throughout the day, including water, can lead to thinning and translucency of tooth enamel.
01:05💧 The key to healthy teeth lies in the natural properties of your saliva, which can repair and remineralize enamel.
01:42🚫 Dental cleanings may worsen enamel issues, as they can strip away protective biofilm.
03:35🦠 Acidity in the mouth is a primary cause of enamel demineralization, which can be mitigated by managing the mouth's pH levels.
04:30🍬 Using Xylitol mints after meals can stimulate saliva production and help neutralize acidity, promoting enamel remineralization.
06:01🤰 Hormonal changes, stress, or pregnancy can lower salivary pH, but Xylitol mints can help maintain a healthier pH level.
07:04🔬 Natural saliva contains minerals that are ideal for rebuilding tooth enamel, unlike manufactured products.
08:00🦷 Healthy biofilm is crucial for protecting teeth from mineral loss and should not be removed with abrasive products or excessive dental cleanings.
09:25🦠 Plaque is infected biofilm, while healthy biofilm is protective and should be preserved.
10:24🚰 Sipping water all day can dilute and wash away the protective properties of saliva, leading to enamel erosion.
11:03⚗ Whitening treatments with baking soda or peroxide can strip away protective biofilm and damage enamel.
13:00📚 Proper mouth care strategies can eliminate the need for frequent dental cleanings and maintain healthy biofilm.
14:00💡 Following recommended mouth care practices for several months can strengthen teeth and prevent the need for more invasive dental treatments.

You likely experienced sensitive teeth because of exposed roots, it naturally goes away after some time if you keep them clean. if you experience more using hers I bet you have early stage gingivitis and it cleans that up exposing more of the root as the swelling subsides, you can’t always tell if you have early stage gingivitis just as early receding gums can be hard to see as it’s not always obvious in normal light. In itself this can also contribute to increasing sensitivity. Dr Ellie, could you also please do a video on what people should do if one can't use your recommended mouthwashes: listerine and ACT?
The ACT mouthwash isn't available in the UK (and is incredibly expensive online for us). And there are many people who don't buy products with alcohol (for religious reason) so can't buy Listerine.
There are some alcohol-free flouride mouthwashes like Colgate Fluorigard Alcohol Free Rinse, but they tend to have glycerine, and glycerine can prevent reminerilisation.
So, what should we do? I hope you could address this issue soon, as many of us can't use ACT and Listerine.

The no trace alcohol thing is kind of a constructed dead end and a bit facetious to say religions forbid it even in life saving food and medicines. If i couldn't get the original gold listerine, i'd make a mouth spray with yarrow herb steeped in 100 proof vodka which also works as a tooth cleaner. there's less alcohol consumed from swishing mouth rinse as drinking a gulp of orange juice.

I heard salt water is harsh on the gums, therefore, not healthy if done regularly for a long period of time. Salt water would also kill good bacteria.
I can see why salt water would be the best alternative to listerine -- both are harsh on all bacteria. And I'm actually confused why listerine is even recommended, because doesn't it kill good bacteria also ?
And if killing all bacteria is necessary, then an essential oil like oregano oil might be good in place of Listerine?
I hope Dr Ellie could shed light on this for us, especially for those of us who can't use/get Listerine and ACT.
