My daughter-in-law went to a dentist for a checkup, she was 30 at the time with no fillings etc... (perfect teeth) , The dentist told her she needed 14 fillings. She decided to get a second opinion and the next one said she needed 5 fillings so she went to a third who had a good reputation and was told she did not need any treatments and said her teeth were great and what did she use on them. She told him she used a natural toothpaste, not colgate etc. I have never trusted dentists since.
Told I had one cavity on a pristine tooth, so I got a second opinion - 10 years later still no cavities and the second opinion saved me from problems and that thief!
A fun thought - and I know this is difficult. A review study came out recently - with strong evidence that 6-month cleanings do not improve long term outcome. Here is a link so you can comment on it at your next appointment. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10572504/
Like all doctors if you bring up some thing they don’t know they say well don’t look read the Internet, there’s a lot of miss information on the Internet. You really have to educate yourself and make your own decisions
I'm 69, and have had a mouth full of cavities since an adolescent, by the time I was a teenager my molars top and bottom, left and right had almagam mercury fillings. I believe microwaves actually vaporized the mercury poisoning my brain, making me "crazy", but I digress. I had all the mercury fillings removed/replaced 25 years ago, and detoxed using various protocols ever since. Unfortunately I had a "crown" done a couple years ago, and my dentist keeps suggesting another one. It was torture, over an hour of drilling, almost two hours total - and expensive. I've learned so much from Dr. Ellie's videos, which are helping me save my teeth, and health in general - which begins in our mouths. I sincerely appreciate these videos, and need to watch more! GRATITUDE/RESPECT
I have a similar history to yours. Finally, I got my worst root canal crowned tooth removed (after the eye on that side started to have issues!!), and there was black rot at the removed root area. Try an infrared camera (same kind they use to detect heat leaks in houses). Any infected area in the jaw should be hotter. I used my contractor's camera before I got the tooth removed. Use a real oral surgeon, not a dentist/endo. Good luck!
The mercury is always constantly vaporizing. You can see it happening under UV light. The fact that they even thought it was a Good idea to use mercury is just insane and it proves how dumb humans can be in their thinking processe
I’m really curious why we are asked to be gentle with our teeth and when you go to the dentist for cleaning they aren’t gentle at all. I developed deep curves around gums due to this for which I was later offered restorative procedure. To restore the damage they created 😅
You need to stop getting those cleanings. The hygienists are not properly trained to interfere with teeth. Floss gently and massage gums gently upwards only on liwer gums and downwards on upper gums several times a day. Better bloodsupply will harden them and improve thr strength of the feeth.
I know. They are vicious with the cleaning. I had a really deep clean and put under anesthetic, as so barbaric a procedure. Cost me £1500!! Said it was gold standard approach. They warned me of my gums receding afterwards. Having ruined my gums, they then wanted to sew on cow muscle. Never did that, as sounded ridiculous.
In response to the news saying that xylitol causes strokes and heart attacks, that is when you use over fifty grams. When you are using it only for after meals and snacks it is less than ten grams.
The 10 heart clinic patients in the study drank the xylitol after fasting - all at once. I recommend 1-2 grams AFTER meals x5 daily. Our bodies make 15 grams of xylitol daily and are familiar with breaking it down quickly.
@@dr.elliephillipsas well as zellies I use Pur chewing gum. Is there a limit on how much chewing gum I should have? I chew the gum a long time after the xylitol must have gone.
My teeth started breaking off at age 40 its gotten bad enough I have had several removed. I have like 7 good bottom teeth left all the rest broken off. I can still eat but really need to get dentures I guess. Been putting it off for yrs. I have always been thirsty and find I always need a drink with me. I have always been told that dehydration probably caused the teeth issues. Sometimes I wonder if I wasn't low in some nutrient. I did drink soda 🥤 a lot as a kid like all day everyday so theirs that. I'm sure that probably wrecked the enamel.
1. Sipping water all day long 2. The Acidity in your mouth pulls minerals from your teeth. The length of time your mouth is acidic. Stopped the acidity being prolonged. Take a xyilotol right after you eat in a gum/mint form. Don't snack or drink for an hour after a meal. Baking soda and Peroxide strip biofilm from your teeth that it needs. So does a cleaning at the dentist. The secret to not having a cleaning is to ask your Dentist if you need one. Following these protocols will allow you to no longer need one. It's like taking an antibiotic when you're healthy. This is a new concept so most dentist won't know all this information, so you will have to work with them to help them understand.
I started following Dr. Ellie’s protocol about one year ago. I use her recommended toothpaste, rinses, and bought the recommended toothbrushes and silent. I’ll mints. My mouth is completely transformed! I also stopped all the water sipping. I went from having my teeth cleaned three times a year to now down to one time a year and I’m honestly considering, holding off longer this year. As she suggested, my teeth and gums actually felt worse after the cleaning. My dentist uses a mechanical device for tooth cleaning not baking soda or water jetting. I recommend following her advice to the letter, including using the original formula Listerine with eucalyptus oil. The other rinse isn’t the same, at least for me. I admire your work doctor.
I would never use a mouthwash. I was working in advertising and given ‘Odol’ to promote. Naturally, I tried the product. It gave me bad breath. Why? Because it killed all bacteria, bad and good. Are you saying that the eucalyptus oil makes the difference? If so, why not ‘pull’ with eucalyptus oil?
I sip all day long: mate in the morning, more tea throughout the day, kombucha, and too much beer! I'm going to start working in the yards all day, and heal my body-mind-spirit, sitting indoors in front of a computer screen is killing me!
Beware of any dentist that goes “fishing in your mouth” and always get a second opinion if your gut is telling you that something doesn’t sound right. Always trust your intuition, always.
My parents didn't send me to the dentist (I'm 73}. When I was an adult I went to the dentist on my own. I had a cavity when I was 28. I adopted the American diet, later. I now have gum disease. I tried Dr Phillips protocol and my bleeding gums went away after 5 days. No more pink toothpaste. I'm hoping this helps my bad breath. People have no idea how important Ph is both inside and outside our bodies and in the products we use.
Bleeding gums is also a sign of Vit C deficiency Has any dentist ever mentioned this ? Not to me personally and I am 57yo. Most just say gum disease Smh
Food grade Diatomaceous Earth is actually very good supposed to teeth and gums and somebody in a thread I want some video said that her gums were in bad shape but within a month of doing it they actually grew back to how they used to be and I believe her because diatomaceous earth has many benefits
I wish I found Dr Ellie two years ago. I have developed an awful tooth sensitivity after I got a crown. All the Dentist tells me is that the sensitivity means the tooth is alive so hooray! Spent a fortune on basically remodeling my old fillings and my gums got worse. I really dreaded flossing because of the irritation. I’ve been using this system for a month and my sensitivity is getting better and I have a check up scheduled in 5 months.
@healing682 tha depends on WHO that biological dentist may be. I went to one. I paid for the cone bean. His advise”that crown tooth is bad and gave me a list and priced it to pull it at $1600.00. A frien has a crowned Bad front tooth. It was estimated at $10,000.00 to pull it and a flip bridge..
I was told to drink 64 fluid ounces of water a day due to my vocal cords. I always have drank a lot of water and I'm 70 years old and I have all of my teeth and have had no problem with my enamel. I think it has more to do with what you eat.
I haven't seen a dentist since October. 2009. I brush my teeth every morning and I floss twice a day. I have had two abscessed teeth due to my diabetes. I treated both abscesses wiith a slurry of powdered clove with 100% success.
I haven't been to a dentist since 2009. I wasn't taking care of my teeth. I pray hard and have used Arm and Hammer baking soda and peroxide toothpaste and original Listerine usually once a day before bedtime and have had no more problems with my teeth except an old filling that fell out and HE and I are still working on that. Had some pain when it first happened and one more flare up but by brushing carefully over that molar and using xylitol gum and lots of prayer the pain is gone, no swelling and I believe it's gonna be OK without my having to go to a dentist or oral surgeon. I do not floss, no need.
Even after a few days of following Dr Ellie’s oral health regime to the letter I noticed an improvement in the appearance of my teeth as well as the *feel*. That I usually only eat or drink once a day is bound to be a contributory factor. Because she argues from first principles I was immediately sold on her holistic/synergistic method. Only wish I’d discovered it sooner…
I was only thinking to make my gums better after overdoing it with a water flosser -- but her program, same results. My teeth are lighter, which I did not think possible and my mouth feels like I just had a cleaning that day, for days now.
Where i live there's a dentists office in every building every plaza, every mall. Good luck asking any of them if something is NECESSARY. I've just been through a nightmare with one and I'm sure i paid twice what was actually necessary. I listen to you because I've had a dentist insist that he had remove a perfectly healthy wisdom tooth that was so solid that he couldn't get it out. So they sent me to someone who put me under GENERAL ANESTHETIC to do the job. I do not trust dentists. That's why i subscribed to you🥺. Your agenda is obviously different. Thank you😁!
Wisdom teeth have a cone root and can cause problems when all the teeth are present and are overcrowded. This causes gum problems and referred pain in ears. These are reasons for having them removed.
Your advice is right above the target! I was drinking too much coffee, and ended up with extreme tooth and gum pain. I started using your 4 part system, and it has 97% healed me in 6 months. Any sensitivity now is negligible, and my teeth and gums feel strong again. I am now able to drink filter coffee again,so long as i rinse afterwards and use xylitol. The iron bar analogy was brilliant also. Thankyou as always Dr.Ellie. God bless. ps.one tip. Do not use toothbrushes with a 'tongue scraper'on the back. I broke both my caps on my back molar from these darned toothbrushes. I now use a bamboo brush, with no 'scraper'on the back, which is much more comfortable and i can brush vigorously, just the way i like it!
One dentist was having a temper tantrum and I think he was drinking, then I went to a different one and the hygentist, hurt me on purpose and she was having a bad day and took it out on me, so I ordered your complete dental care system and I believe you because one time I had a plantars wart on my foot and I went to the Doctor for a year and he put salysylic acid on it and it hurt, then one day my friend had to go to the store and I went with and there was this book lying there , it was about herbs and it said put garlic on my foot and I was healed in 3 days, so I believe you and you have a lot of courage to speak out.
@@asmith2538 it was a very long time ago but I think I cut it in half long way so it's flat and put on with a band- aid, if that's too strong for you , you could try cutting open a garlic vitamin,
Just a personal observation since I’ve been using your system whenever I would travel, I would inevitably get sick last week. I went on four airplane rides traveled from the south to the north and back and I’m fine. keep putting your message out there save people the pain and expense of ruining their mouth please God bless
Thank you Dr Ellie. I have had serious issues with bone and gum loss leading to a tooth loss. Very distressing. I have begun following your programs albeit slowly. I went to the dentist and they performed an annual measurement of gum loss and reported my upper gums are the same in some places and BETTER in others. The hygienist then said my lower were doing BETTER than my upper gums. This was FANTASTIC news. I am so happy. The following are some improvements I made that I believe have helped. #1 drinking more water all at once after a meal (swishing and removing the sugar, etc.) and then going for hours without. #2 a religious use of Listerine AM and PM. #3 less vigorous water flossing and dental floss use, giving them a more fast yet gentle and quick go through. I plan on eventually following all of Dr Ellies' programs. Thanks again
@@chrisnam1603 im in europe, lucky me, there is free healthcare dentists here, and he do only removed and filled material from my cavity tooth said the rest is fine. And i fo feel like they are fine
It also depends a lot on the dental clinic. Some places require dentists to earn the business a certain amount of money or else they get in trouble, so they need to sell as much as they can. Others get paid by the hour and do what they need to do. There's no reason for them to hurt others mouths since their paycheck stays the same no matter how many or how few cleanings they do.
Dr Ellie, could you enlighten us on the safety of using Listerine? I found a new article a few days ago that it causes cancer. I would like to thank you for introducing your oral health program. Really works for me. But with the news I read, I’m a quite unsure about using Listerine as mouthwash. Thank you.
If u get an ant bite or mosquito bite, dab bite with Listerine. I wouldn't put that stuff in my mouth. It kills all bacteria, good and bad. Otherwise a good antiseptic. Rinse mouth with salt water after eating.
This is awesome the way she keeps going to reframe the info she’s teaching so the viewers get all the details . I hope there’s mention of how nutrients play a role in preventing decay.
I wouldn't use a glass-straw because if You accidentally broke it in your mouth, it could be a problem. but I've started drinking my coffee through a metal-straw to at least somewhat minimise the damages caused by my excessive coffee-drinking. regards.
@@macniesful Oh yeah the celery strategy seems to be working. I actually eat a celery stalk after every meal and snack. I'm crazy. But I'm desperate to reverse two small cavities and this is my strategy. But I also just feel healthier eating all this organic celery.
48yo male with no fillings here. I went to the dentist for the first time in 8 years yesterday for a check up because my wife guilted me in to it - they did tell me last time that I didn’t need to come back as often as my family, but apparently they didn’t mean to leave it 8 years!? 😂 I’m interested to now learn that I don’t really need a clean if I play my cards right. I did have some plaque build up which they removed, however given I’m not planning on going back again for an as yet undefined number of years, I will definitely make some changes to manage that better. Thanks Doc! ❤
I skipped 20 yrs due to financial problems. The only problem I found was they replaced a very old and large filling that was breaking up. They griped like crazy about my plaque etc but duh no cavities
@awlhunt thats brilliant. my Husband is 60 and never had any dental work done at all ever, he only cleans his teeth once in the morning, he's so lucky .
I bought a book, how to cure tooth decay, taught me a lot. Xylitol mints, there is one here, but it has other things in it, and plays up with my decay (check what ingredients are on the bootle). People get conditions where they get dry mouth and watery saliva. There are various reasons for this. Nutrition you have supplied the saliva, but there are conditions that cause the saliva glands to malfunction, but also the pathway that activates the bone building enzyme your saliva uses to bind the minerals to your teeth. A little bit complicated for those with problems but worth looking up. Maybe doctor Ellie can do a video on it?
I am really enjoying learning from Dr Ellie! This is revolutionary and I love that it means we don’t have to succumb to the lies we are told through clever marketing practices. Knowledge is power.
Yes, clever TH-cam marketing. You are being misled from every side. Scientists try to prove themselves wrong. Trying to convince people that you are right is marketing.
Maybe a straw is best for water as most people are dehydrated & don’t even drink close to 1/2 their body weight in ounces. Also drinking while eating negatively affects digestion as far as what I’ve read.
I believe many are "rethinking" the old "water" studies from the 1930s.... but there will be resistance from the beverage companies. Dr. William Li has a balanced view of drinking - and he believes water at meals is no problem - although there is individual variation. Lots of things to try and figure out.
I read that drinking water during a meal dilutes the acids that break down the food in your stomach, so you should wait at least 1 hour. Hard for me to do.
@@ελευθερία-ε2ο There is no research material showing any benefit to not drinking during a meal. If anything, there are more benefits to drinking than not (the extra liquid helps prevent compacted stool).
@@SavageArms357 your stomach produces hydrochloric acid in order to digest your food. If you drink water with a meal, you dilute the acidity in your stomach required for digestion. Reason why so many Americans have digestive issues.
You can drink water whenever you think you need it, but drink all you need in one go instead of sipping all throughout the day. It's the constant sipping that keeps thinning your saliva out and keeps the mouth in an acidic pH, which damages teeth. After drinking (for instance) a glass of water, then take xylitol and don't eat or drink anything else for at least 1 hour or longer.
Two questions: 1) if xylitol must be taken after the meal and than don't eat or drink for at least an 1 hour, when must be brushed? Immediately or after an 1 hour? 2) xylitol can be taken in the form of powder insteat of mints or gum with comparable effect?
Brushing your teeth after your morning meal is as good as or better than eating xylitol after the meal. I use her system right after breakfast then pop a xylitol mint about an hour after brushing. Then after meals and drinking. Then use her system again right before sleep.
@@karent.8245 I use her complete mouth care system after eating in the morning. Then I usually try wait an hour after that to drink or eat. I usually have a coffee at that point and then I’ll have a xylitol after coffee.
So I eat breakfast. And when should I brush my teeth? When take xylitol? Before brushing? After brushing? Should I rinse with water the food particles from my teeth before brushing or taking xylitol?
A much better video. The videos are genuinely essential watching and appreciated, but this bite size, pared back and more toned down approach I really like. Dr Ellie, please don't mind me. I do think all your videos as simply passionate! Take care ❤️
Her method works. I have been doing it for a month and I can see a big difference in the appearance of my teeth. I appreciate her knowledge and her willingness to share to help.
I have always refused the extra cleaning, mostly due to cost but also when it was cleaned when I was a child I had my first infections there shortly after. I went back to just brushing them and it slowed back down. In my family it is not weird if your teeth fall out before age 30, 33 now and only missing 1 and the rest is fine. However, I have never been able to eat icecream. It hurts if icecream, or ice cubes, touch my teeth. Even when I was little. A solution to that would be nice
Got to praise Dr Ellie! Xylitol fantastic! Massaging gums with toothbrush fantastic! I buy Xylitol granules (cheaper) and crunch and swirl 1 gram for few mins then spit out. Incredible saliva produced. Teeth feel so smooth and clean. Will not take Listerine, very dubious ingredients. Can’t get ACT in UK. Will not use Flouride. Ever. As makes my teeth very sensitive. Thank you Dr Ellie for reminding us also to leave our mouths alone (snacking and sipping) to let the saliva do its magic.
I am 65 years old and since my twenties, I drink about 3 liters of water daily, in small doses. In addition, I brush my teeth daily with H202. My teeth are a bit worn, but their surface is still exactly the same as it was over 40 years ago... So either my teeth are something extraordinary (but they are not) or there is something highly incorrect or exaggerated in this lady's explanations.
I haven't visited my dentist since 2014. After ten years, i had a cavity in one tooth. I went to the dentist and she replaced the filing. No other cavities. I brush once a day, before i sleep. I use lots of toothpaste and i don't stick to one brand.

Dr. Ellie, about a month ago, I woke up in the morning and my left lower front tooth was noticeably loose! It's still loose as are all of my four lower front teeth. My teeth and gums are healthy according to my dentist and I've been on your system for over a year. I'm 55 years old and scared that menopause is causing osteoporosis in my jaws. Is there anything I can do about this???😩
You might need extra magnesium with vitamin K. Don't take calcium powder supplements though, get it from food. Best wishes getting over the 50s hump, i'm 56
@@Nrustica Thank you! I actually did start taking Vitamin K-MK7 after I discovered my loose tooth. I've been taking magnesium so I will try increasing the dose. I'm really worried. The last thing I ever imagined with menopause was developing loose teeth even with proper (Dr. Ellie's) dental care!
Are you aware of how to do the gum massage that I recommend with the Mouthwatchers brushes? Id say start with the obvious - I don't like messing around with supplementing minerals - too many bad recommendations and too much lack of knowledge.
Multiple symptoms need to find a compromise. Drink water as needed but avoid continual sipping if you can. Run a humidifier, avoid sugary treats, avoid caffeine and alcohol, have meals with more moisture, look for saliva substitutes.
This mantra about 1.5 or 2 L water a day seems to be another modern notion (like dental cleanings for everyone every 6 months) - doubt necessary, and maybe even excessive. Worth rethinking many general of these across-the board recommendations - like Hepatitis B vaccines for newborns and HPV vaccines for 9 year olds which are virtually all risk, no benefit, and basically outrageous.
Dr. Ellie set me straight on a bunch of my mouth issues, particularly using the oxy prerinse, and herbal astringent after brushing. My past frequent hygeine visits had became big deals, I've spent upwards of 20K on lanaps and deep scalings . Now I no longer have any pain that required professional cleaning although i still get routine light cleanings.
@@riumudamc4686 I had deep cleaning on one side of my mouth to compare. The side using Dr Elles protocol alone actually looks better. My gums are really healthy now after 2mo. The side I had deep cleaned is slowly catching up. (after a couple of months) It actually looks worse than the side I didn't have it on. *Try her system for a few months and save yourself a lot of money.* 😊

I Love your content Dr.Ellie and have been using your system 4 1/2 months now. Please fire your video editors. The constant jump cuts to different camera angles is distracting and somewhat annoying, to the point I usually scroll through comments while listening.
This system made my already sensitive teeth more sensitive. I stopped using it. Currently I brush once a day with Tom's Fluoride Free Toothpaste Rapid Relief, and after brushing I swish a mixture of wheatgrass juice powder and a little water in my mouth for a few minutes. I brush with toothpaste in the evening, and when I wake up, I brush with a very very ultra soft toothbrush using only water. My sensitivity is gone.
It made my sensitive teeth completely normal after a few months. It even fixed a tooth that my dentist had scheduled for a root canal (bc he couldn't fix the sensitivity and I couldn't stand it anymore) I tried her protocol as a last resort and it worked. 😊 I'm so grateful I did... but I also added K2, boron and Calcium/magnesium ortate to my daily routine. And Carlsons fish oil 2x daily. *Maybe you need to add nutritional supplements too, for even better results?* 🤔
You likely experienced sensitive teeth because of exposed roots, it naturally goes away after some time if you keep them clean. if you experience more using hers I bet you have early stage gingivitis and it cleans that up exposing more of the root as the swelling subsides, you can’t always tell if you have early stage gingivitis just as early receding gums can be hard to see as it’s not always obvious in normal light. In itself this can also contribute to increasing sensitivity. Her system can’t cause increased sensitivity or receding gums, but it might expose the issue you have, but once the issue is treated it will eventually subside The fact you had bad breath tells me you had gum disease
I went to a holistic dentist who told me I needed a root canal and crown. I didn't anything was wrong with that tooth but I did it anyway costing over $3,000. The later said the other molar needs the same procedure. Went to another dentist who said there is nothing wrong with that tooth but his happy to take the money lol. It's been over 7 years since that day and I still have the same tooth!!!
Thank you for the wonderful lectures 🙂 Is there any substitute for Xylitol? Here in India we get Xylitol gums with sorbitol and other unwanted stuff. Which brand should I buy if only Xylitol can help?
@@brave4625 Don't mix them in water or other food or drink, because they won't be able to improve oral health if diluted. Use at full strength in the mouth. Just measure out about 1/4 teaspoon (1 gram) and swish around in the mouth for 2-5 minutes before swallowing; the granules will liquify with your saliva. Take at least 6-7 grams total per day, spread out throughout the day in small 1gram doses. The best time to take them is after every meal, snack or drink of liquid (even water), and then do not eat or drink anything else for at least 1 or 2 hours.
I purchased the huge bag of zellies, then the report came out about the dangers of xylitol. It makes our blood platelets clot. That could lead to heart attack or stroke. Could Dr Ellie address this report, please?
Dr Ellie has already addressed this in a video she made a week or so ago, please do look for it as you will feel less anxious once you read it..good luck..
Dr Ellie, could you also please do a video on what people should do if one can't use your recommended mouthwashes: listerine and ACT? The ACT mouthwash isn't available in the UK (and is incredibly expensive online for us). And there are many people who don't buy products with alcohol (for religious reason) so can't buy Listerine. There are some alcohol-free flouride mouthwashes like Colgate Fluorigard Alcohol Free Rinse, but they tend to have glycerine, and glycerine can prevent reminerilisation. So, what should we do? I hope you could address this issue soon, as many of us can't use ACT and Listerine.
The no trace alcohol thing is kind of a constructed dead end and a bit facetious to say religions forbid it even in life saving food and medicines. If i couldn't get the original gold listerine, i'd make a mouth spray with yarrow herb steeped in 100 proof vodka which also works as a tooth cleaner. there's less alcohol consumed from swishing mouth rinse as drinking a gulp of orange juice.
I heard salt water is harsh on the gums, therefore, not healthy if done regularly for a long period of time. Salt water would also kill good bacteria. I can see why salt water would be the best alternative to listerine -- both are harsh on all bacteria. And I'm actually confused why listerine is even recommended, because doesn't it kill good bacteria also ? And if killing all bacteria is necessary, then an essential oil like oregano oil might be good in place of Listerine? I hope Dr Ellie could shed light on this for us, especially for those of us who can't use/get Listerine and ACT.
Yes, I read alcohol in rinses can dry the mouth and I already have dry mouth so I am perplexed about the Listerine and also perplexed that Dr. Ellie hasn't responded to it.
I am trying to use a different thing to control acidity in my mouth. I use a healthy ionized water with 9.5 ph for drinking and brushing my teeth. I've read somewhere in the comments that xylitol is toxic. This ionized alkaline water produced fresh from my machine all the time is non- toxic. 😊 But I'm following Dr Ellie's other advice such as the brushing of our teeth 3x a day using e different toothbrush. 8 also use extra virgin coconut oil as a bactericidal. I will share my results after 3 months. 😊

I'd be so curious to hear your thoughts on Weston A. Price's philosophy around dental care and protecting the mouth's microbiome. My dentist wanted to do a deep cleaning on my teeth. I did not want it, because you can get teeth gum pockets. I did not know with deep cleaning you also remove the biofilm. People are damaging their teeth with teeth whitening products. That is abrasive. If you want to take care care of your teeth then you must know these 3 things: fluoride, xylitol and calcium.
Hi from NY. In 2018 I went to see my dentist for a cleaning. He recommended a deep cleaning. I trusted him and went ahead with it. It was a bad decision. The deep cleaning was way too harsh. Plus my dentist did NOT inform me ahead of the cleaning that it would cost me $1,600.00. I only found out AFTER the cleaning was finished. I have been using Dr. Ellie's system for several months. My teeth and gums are healing from that deep cleaning performed in 2018. Thank you Dr. Ellie for sharing your knowledge and wisdom. I am forever grateful. Also, in my opinion, your videos without the music is much better. I can hear what you are saying more easily. Stay well and safe. ❤

Omg listening to this in 95 degrees heat 😳. Um what about the Years of dieting that told us to drink 8 gla@es of water day, when is this supposed to happen, during meals?😊
Drink as much as you like. But follow each sip with a few crystals of xylitol. I sip coffee all morning. After every sip, a few crystals go in my mouth to maintain neutral pH.

@@vickis.9363 That is not the proper way to use xylitol and I can't see how that way of using it would help your oral health at all, because you are constantly keeping your saliva thinned out and not able to remineralize your teeth. After each use of xylitol, you are supposed to not eat or drink anything else (even water) for at least 1 hour or longer to allow your saliva to remineralize the teeth.
You can drink water whenever you think you need it, but drink all you need in one go instead of sipping all throughout the day.

It's common to experience heart issues when fasting anyway. So not a useful study.

Why?
Because it killed all bacteria, bad and good.

04:30🍬 Using Xylitol mints after meals can stimulate saliva production and help neutralize acidity, promoting enamel remineralization.
06:01🤰 Hormonal changes, stress, or pregnancy can lower salivary pH, but Xylitol mints can help maintain a healthier pH level.
07:04🔬 Natural saliva contains minerals that are ideal for rebuilding tooth enamel, unlike manufactured products.
08:00🦷 Healthy biofilm is crucial for protecting teeth from mineral loss and should not be removed with abrasive products or excessive dental cleanings.
09:25🦠 Plaque is infected biofilm, while healthy biofilm is protective and should be preserved.
10:24🚰 Sipping water all day can dilute and wash away the protective properties of saliva, leading to enamel erosion.
11:03⚗ Whitening treatments with baking soda or peroxide can strip away protective biofilm and damage enamel.

Hi Dr. Ellie! Thank you for all of the educational content! Can you create videos on teeth grinding and craze lines? :)
Sounds like you should try using my suggested system of care.

Hi Dr. Ellie. I have had type 1 diabetes for 50 years. What does diabetes do to the teeth and mouth?
Instead of a mint, could I rinse my mouth with a xylitol homemade mouthwash? If so, how long would I have to swish for?
Yes , for 3 minutes , she said in other of her videos
Can you suggest the ratio of xylitol to water?
@@peaceful3250 I just crunch some crystals in my mouth and swish it around for three minutes.
@@JohnSmith-lk8cy Thank you
Dr. Ellie recommends not to dilute xylitol with water for rinsing, so you could use it dry and let it dissolve with saliva
Yes, but I need to drink lots of water during the day to stay hydrated. What Can I do?
listen to video, and many people reply here as well (so do i)
I think we need a video on how and when to drink enough water to avoid damaging the teeth but still remain hydrated enough to stay alive.
Drink before meals.
Use a straw.
Id say start with the obvious -
I don't like messing around with supplementing minerals - too many bad recommendations and too much lack of knowledge.

@@TheSouthIsHotBest of luck! Are you getting better now?
I love your system so much when I was visiting my father I bought all the components and showed him how to do it😂❤
What about dry mouth???
Multiple symptoms need to find a compromise. Drink water as needed but avoid continual sipping if you can. Run a humidifier, avoid sugary treats, avoid caffeine and alcohol, have meals with more moisture, look for saliva substitutes.
Dr. Ellie says that xylitol helps dry mouth.
love the documentary interview recording style ty for the info!
Thank you for the information
Brilliant, thank you!
Great explanation doc ✨
I have a dumb question: When should I drink 2 litres of water daily? Would it help if I had an alkaline water filter on my tap? I love you to pieces!
It's fine but don't sip water continuously throughout the day.

Were the LANAP and deep scalings effective at reducing pocket depths?
@@riumudamc4686 I had deep cleaning on one side of my mouth to compare. The side using Dr Elles protocol alone actually looks better. My gums are really healthy now after 2mo. The side I had deep cleaned is slowly catching up. (after a couple of months) It actually looks worse than the side I didn't have it on.
*Try her system for a few months and save yourself a lot of money.* 😊
Would drinking from a straw to the back of your mouth reduce the effect?
Dr. Ellie says that using a straw just diverts the liquid to your back molars; it does not miss all the teeth.
So…another dental professional here…a body can lie at the bottom of a very acid peat bog for five thousand years and when it is dug up there is no damage to teeth…they are perfect….explain. There are too many people making money and telling us rubbish…on TH-cam.

your system made my teeth extremely sensitive. however, i no longer have bad breath, so thank you for that
This system made my already sensitive teeth more sensitive.
It even fixed a tooth that my dentist had scheduled for a root canal (bc he couldn't fix the sensitivity and I couldn't stand it anymore)
I tried her protocol as a last resort and it worked. 😊
I'm so grateful I did...
but I also added K2, boron and Calcium/magnesium ortate to my daily routine.
And Carlsons fish oil 2x daily.
*Maybe you need to add nutritional supplements too, for even better results?* 🤔
Sensitive teeth is usually low potassium. Look at the ingredients in Sensodyne. Eliminate the flouride and go straight for the potassium.
Her system can’t cause increased sensitivity or receding gums, but it might expose the issue you have, but once the issue is treated it will eventually subside
The fact you had bad breath tells me you had gum disease
@mikni4069 BAD breath can come from not flossing with no gum disease present. Bad breath can also come from tonsil stones & that is not gum disease.
Thank you ❤️🌷
What would you recommend to people with missing teeth? My confidence is so shot and im embarrassed

What causes teeth grinding?
Thank you for the wonderful lectures 🙂 Is there any substitute for Xylitol? Here in India we get Xylitol gums with sorbitol and other unwanted stuff. Which brand should I buy if only Xylitol can help?
You can probably find 100% xylitol granules/crystals there, can't you?
@@SunrayStar sorry if I sound stupid but how do you consume those granules ? Have them mixed in water?

Use salt water.
16:42
xylitols been in widespread use for 50 years. it seems okay to use in moderation, most important it gets results protecting mouth from plaque.
You can use the xylitol as a rinse and spit it out rather than ingesting it.
She recommends twice daily (only rarely three times a day) brushing and does not recommend using coconut oil (“oil pulling”).
*You're going to kill all the good bacteria along with the bad using oil pulling.* 😢
Why not rinse with baking soda and salt water?
That's what I do. I've also been brushing with pearl powder from Elevate Cultivate.

Do organic unprocessed coconut oil pulling. Xylitol is not needed. And keep carbohydrates below 30 per day
@@WideCuriosity This is what the Weston Price website says
"In a long term toxicology study on rats researchers found that xylitol caused a significant increase in the incidence of adrenal medullary hyperplasia in male and female rats in all dose levels tested (5%, 10% and 20%).5 That means it caused abnormal cell growth in the adrenal glands. In one higher-dose study in which mice consumed 20 percent of their diet as xylitol, there was a significant increase in the mortality of the males as compared to those consuming sucrose.6 A major study in dogs found an increase in liver weight associated with xylitol use."
