My only concern: even a plant base sweetener can cause a fungus over growth, is my understanding. I have been using a mint everynight as I lay to sleep for some year's now. 😊

I started using this system about 4 months ago - and it has totally changed my mouth in the best way. My teeth feel smoother, plaque is nearly gone, and my gums don't ache anymore. I've added a simplified method (using the toothpaste, ACT mouthwash, and xylitol mints) to my 15 year old's routine and he says his teeth feel smoother and at his last dental visit the dentist commented that his teeth look really good. I'm very impressed with the results. Thank You! : )

Me too. Also wish my parents had known all this back then before having kids. My teeth have NEVER, EVER been healthy, I do not even have a single memory of myself with healthy teeth. When you are a child, you do not give a damn about teeth, you just play around. It is the parents who need to be aware of all these things and show the children how to take care of their teeth. And if something occurs, it is them who need to act on it as soon as possible before the damage is so big that the child will suffer the consequences all its life knowing it could have been prevented in time. I feel like I am patching up patches with another patches and my teeth will never look and feel healthy ever again.

@@SimonJaimieI agree. Parents need to check for kids teeth. Like yours our parents did the same did not saw it useful to take the children o the dentist u til we were already out school having tooth issues. My parents too never care for their teeth when they got older we had to take them to dentist for gum issues etc. All this could have been avoided but for my parents according to them they had no guidance themselves when it came to teeth for my grandparents. It's a true saying "you can't pick your family you can only look at the deficiencies and try to do better for yourself.

These videos are so helpful. I spent years listening to my dentist dispensing ultimately flawed and uninformed nonsense. I could have saved myself thousands of dollars had I known this as a young man.
To those complaining about these videos being too long: this is a you problem. You clicked on a 20-minute video, presumably because you wanted to learn something about your teeth. Learning isn't done by reading headlines. If you don't have the attention span to learn how and why something works (or doesn't), then you're unlikely to have the attention span to fix the problem.

We can and should always strive for ' excellence ' in everything we do.
      Perfection is impossible to achieve
      NOTHING on earth is perfect
Unfortunately the greater majority of people are taught very basic
Elementary English - known as Common Street English - and they
have a very limited vocabulary - and most do not know what the words
actually mean - nor where the words came from.
They merely repeat what they hear the uneducated masses say -
instead of educating themself by reading books by accomplished
authors that one can learn from.
Knowledge often comes from unexpected sources - and any knowledge
provided is a GIFT - acquiring knowledge is extremely expensive in
      both time and money.
Good luck and best wishes for 2024

I have been living in the UK for 19 years and my teeth are in a mess.
The crowns they put in are bright white.
And I must be thankful that I am an NHS patient.
I have gum problems, but after the dentist "cleaned" my teeth and told me to use Corsodol toothpaste, my gums have never been this bad.
For the first few years I had a South African dentist in the UK and he was very good, but he disappeared.
In lockdown I lost two teeth, because the fillings they put in, in ten minutes fell out.
Going private is very expensive, twice the price of South Africa.
I have managed to find most of the products at Amazon and will save the few teeth I have.

I've bought two whitening sets since 2015 and haven't been able to use them because I intuitively feared doing so. The second set came with a mold of my teeth and cost quite a bit, but still I couldn't bring myself to use it. I've NEVER heard of this whitening process being unsafe, but still, I FEARED it. I've had teeth issues in my molars from multiple run-ins with a few bad dentists. Small chunks of food gets lodged in between when I eat (which creates a breeding ground for bacteria and causes all sorts of pain) and I have sharp edges that catch on to everything which I can feel running my tongue over it. After being desparate for a long time I tried Dr. Ellie's protocol for about a month and it changed all my issues. Plaque litterally fell off my teeth, teeth whitened significantly, Bad breath gone.
I saw a difference in the first few days really. It's been about 4 months since and I have changed it a bit for my own reasons. I just felt a need to reduce the amount of flouride entering my body since I learned I have flourosis. I eat low carb which makes the most significant difference for tooth health because you are no longer feeding the bad bacteria, I brush with xylitol toothpaste, chew xylitol gum, and tongue scrape (Not sure if it's making any difference but I am trying it out).
Couldn't thank Dr. Ellie enough. I am glad to support her cause to educate the people by buying zellie's mints for my kids.

  • @EdwardsNH
    @EdwardsNH 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +25

Interesting note that goes with your system... In another video, you mention how the saliva does the most mineralizing in the evening. To match that, recent studies show that the kidneys are the most active in the first 10 hours of the day, so that is when you should do the most hydrating.
It is super important for your health to stay hydrated. So to incorporate your system and stay hydrated, I start my day with drinking 40 oz of water. Then progressively drink a little less than that about 30 minutes before each meal, drinking hardly any water after 5-6pm.
Doing your system by the book. Well, actually using a lot more xylitol than the 6-8 grams. I was curious how much it would take to give myself the upset stomach that one will get with too much xylitol... I've gone over 70 grams and not had any stomach upset. Keeping it to about 10-15 grams now. One month in and the difference is already very noticeable.

Hi everyone, I did an in office professional Philips Zoom whitening about 6 months ago and do not recommend it. First of all, I have noticed very little difference in the change of colour. They were not yellow at all to start with. I guess I was getting used to seeing the white teeth in commercials and advertising and just thought mine were not white enough.
I always thought I took good care of my teeth since I do not have any sugar in my diet and brush 2 or 3 times a day. Since then, I actually discovered what did most of the harm to my teeth were the daily fresh orange juice every morning and the cup of tea after that (without rinsing my mouth afterwards) I have always thought only sugar was the issue not the acids in food.
I just noticed a gum was bleeding the other day and I have never had issues with my gums before! I´m sure the whitening is bad for your enamel in the long run, but for the gums it´s really bad from the get go. They receded somewhat after the bleaching and show no signs of recovery.
At least this experience helped me to make my teeth a priority from now. I´m fifty and I want to keep them healthy and functional, not too bothered with them being white or not anymore! 🙋‍♀

@@supermario4024 Dr Ellie’s system or procedure uses products made by other well known companies. She makes no money off of them. You can buy the system from her at her website and she makes money off of that but she should because you’re essentially reimbursing her for the products she bought and assembled for you. You can buy these products yourself wherever they’re sold. Dr Ellie does make a xylitol product called Zellie’s Mints. It’s actually a public service that she does this because it’s not easy finding xylitol products. She also sells a program at her website that teaches about her entire program so you don’t have to piece it all together from multiple videos. All this information is basically for free to us, and I’m super grateful to Dr Ellie because she has educated us while most of mainstream dentistry has not. My own dentist and hygienist have done nothing to educate me. I knew nothing about the wonders of xylitol. They never explained the dangers of an acidic mouth. They constantly promote damaging teeth whitening. What I’ve figured out, and others might chime in here, is that Dr Ellie has put together a mouth care system based on her decades of dentistry experience, as well as educating us on the science behind what we need to do and why. She’s amazing.

I have no idea what in Crest causes this rapid staining for me but about 20 years ago I tried Crest paste with the same issue. Hi, I´d like to add to my previous comment that I do recommend flossing for people who have some pockets in their gums. I did the tooth care system without flossing and one of my gums started to bleed because there was still some small particle of food stuck inside. You cannot see or notice it, so I´ll keep carefully flossing as part of my routine, to be sure. I treated the inflammation applying natural honey (anti bacterial) and aloe vera a couple of times a day to the gums. Also a drop of tea tree oil in your mouthwash or mixed with some water have scientifically been proven to be as effective as clorhexidine to treat cases of gingivitis. It also produces less irritation to the mucous tissue in the mouth.
I´ll stopped using Listerine Mint because it irritates my gums too much. Dr. Ellie, does the formula you recommend have alcohol and benzoic acid? Because the original version is no where to be found here and the Mint version has these ingredients. Thank you again for sharing your knowledge!!

Hi, thanks for the video. I'm 49 years old, never had a cavity and follow a whole food plant-based 'diet' for the past 20+ years. I'm healthy, haven't had a cold in about 20 years, exercise everyday etc. Anyway, for the past 30 years or so I have swished around my mouth most days 2% hydrogen peroxide before I brush with a 'natural' baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) toothpaste. I was told this hydrogen peroxide and sodium bicarbonate combo was the best defense against cavities (contrary to the modern dentists' suggestions). I was told this by several people I have met (each at different times) who were all over 70 and who each never had a cavity themselves after using this combination since childhood. Anyway, I don't use, and have never used, any whitening products like you warn about, however I do swish around my mouth this capful of hydrogen peroxide 2% before brushing. In your mind, does this pose the same damage as the peroxide whitening products on the market? What are your thoughts on 20 second mouth swish with hydrogen peroxide before brushing? Again, I've never had a cavity, and everyone else in my family has by their 20s. Thanks again.
ps...I just listened to rest of video, and now have another question; my saliva PH is always 7.4 - 7.5, but I do drink water all day long. I do it not out of any kind of training, but honestly because I am always thirsty. I drink an average of over a gallon of water (reverse osmosis micro-filtered) a day everyday. My teeth are not as white as they once were, and I'd like to whiten them, but I feel I am always thirsty and so I'm always drinking water. Considering my PH on saliva strips is always alkaline, could you explain this to me? I really don't want to go for periods of time without drinking water. Again, thank you.

Gingivitis… i just didn’t get it. I refused to accept that gums don’t grow back as the body will always try to restore itself one way or another. I was so grateful to be guided to your video. It all made sense… acidity. I religiously drank lemon water for decades in the morning before eating fruit, then added kefir water and kombucha ( strong kombucha) to my evening routine just before brushing my teeth. On top of that I had used whitening strips on and off over time… it was basics an accident waiting to happen. Once I saw your video I immediately stopped these acidic drinks. And started chewing xylitol gum immediate after I eat or drink. My teeth are returning smooth and thicker again and are returning to their natural whiteness. I had been using pretty good products oral B enamel densifying tooth paste en vitis sensitive mouthwash which also helps with regrowing enamel. I wasn’t seeing the results I wanted before as I was still drinking those horrible drinks, but now I’m amazed at the results after not even a month. Im 51, I only started going to the dentist since age 41 LOL. The other last time I went was 16 when I had 5 cavity fillings. So either I was afraid of the dentist or I didn't have money for the cleanings. 25 years without dental cleanings i feared the worst!. I only needed 2 cleanings. I was shocked but I have used Crest toothpaste and a sonicare toothbrush the whole time since about age 20. Always swore by Crest for some reason and never changed. If i ever tried anything else i always ended up switching back to the Crest. I spent years telling people to just use Crest. Maybe I have good bacteria, I don't know but i have NOt had any significant dental work done the whole time except I did have 2 cavity filling re done. One was amalgam and i wanted the composite and the other started chipping away. Just recently I got a crack on the cusp of the molar #30 I think so I agreed to Crown and didn't need a root canal. Wish I had been doing the system before that because it was a small crack right on top of the cusp etc that was hurting when chewing hard things. My only dental work to date. P.S. I didnt use a specific crest toothpaste just whatever one i fancied.. I think Prohealth and densify were the ones I was using prior.

My teeth are white enough and look healthy. But I have area with brown stains -- mainly on the sides of the teeth rather than right in the middle of the tooth. • @SunrayStar

Dr. Ellie says the dark staining is likely from old dead plaque bacteria that have died as a result of improving your oral health on this program. She says so many people are afraid to brush hard enough for fear they will harm their teeth, so they aren't brushing the dead bacteria off. The staining can be brushed off with the medium-firmness type of toothbrush she recommends, or else the hygienist can remove it at the next dental cleaning.

Use the granulated powder from birch

Remember, it doesn't have to be gum & it doesn't have to be Zellies. I love the Epic xylitol mints in cinnamon! There are other brands, just make sure it is 100% xylitol.

@@debsydebsy1499It doesn't have to be from birch. Non-GMO xylitol from corn is just as good, and better from the environmental aspect. That's 100% xylitol granules/crystals. One dose is 1 gram (about 1/4 teaspoon).

I can’t tolerate mint due to radiation to my throat & tongue. This has made the soft tissue in my mouth, tongue & throat extremely sensitive.
The only toothpaste that does set my mouth on fire is mild biotene, gentle mint flavor can be painful
I don’t produce saliva. It’s been recommended by dentists to keep my mouth moist w frequent sips of water
How does one, like myself, who has gone through radiation treatment for throat & tongue cancer follow this program?

I have been using your system for a few months now and I am very happy with the results thus far; however, I had to stop using the Xylitol. First, I want to say that the Xylitol really, really works but I noticed that I developed an unpleasant feeling in my stomach as well as a slight headache on a daily basis. I tried to reduce the use of the Xylitol to once a day but the problem still existed. I am a 66 year old female who is currently undergoing Invisalign orthodontic treatment, close to a year now and would like to add that when I went to my regular dentist for cleaning, there was hardly anything to be done (and I had only been on your system for about 2 months) and I mentioned you. My question is, is there something else I can use to balance the healthy saliva in my mouth besides Xylitol or would a lesser strength of Xylitol help?

As far as an opinion of a stranger can be of value, maybe try spitting the xylitol after you have it diluted in you mouth? What you think?

@@1MDA I will try this with the chewing gum as I switched from the Xylitol mints because it created acid reflux for me and then saw the fresh fruit chewing gum option. I believe Dr. Phillips did say to chew for 5 minutes and then spit it out, not sure though. I'll chew for about 1-2 minutes and see what happens. Thanks for your opinion, I appreciate it.

The other idea is to use the xylitol crystals, let them melt in your mouth, swoosh around a bit with them, then spit them out.

@@johnna-l7t This sounds like a great idea as well. I will look around to find the xylitol crystals. Thus far, I found that chewing the gum for a strict 5 mins and spitting it out has worked. Thank you for sharing this, I really appreciate it.

It seems alkalinzation is the goal so you could swish with baking soda or Borax in water. ??
