I was on the market for a sxs and researched for a couple months. Finally came down to the ridge hvac or defender ltd. Sat in a defender ltd and instantly knew it was good. Had the chance to take the kawi ridge for a spin and i instantly didnt like the fact that i couldnt rest my arm comfortably on the open window because of the rear angle. My body was tight to the door and i'm a small guy thinking that's uncomfortable and maybe cold in winter. And it was kinda loud revving high. Love kawasaki(had 2 quads and 3 bikes all new) Last days off put 400 km on my 2024 defender ltd 3 seater fiery red😃
The defender was a no go for me. First off the doors. Second was the seats. Third. was no radio or any electronics package. Not one is perfect but the defender has its issues as well
@kevinstrickland1077 I know what I sat in. Those suicide doors were a no for me. The seats were too upright for me. And yes, the lack of electronics in the defender was also a big no. Not even a radio or nav. Plus, it's a little underpowered compared to the others. Plus, I have been reading those can doors, not latching properly and coming open, driving down the road.
Used to have a Kawasaki mule MX . And also used to have a Kawasaki mule pro FXR I noticed that you talked about reliability on Kawasaki mules but with mine there was nothing but trouble and issues with them Kawasaki 3 year warranty was absolutely horrible . I purchase a can am defender so far it has treated me very well and had zero issues at this time never again I will purchase anything with a Kawasaki logo on it
I agree I used to have a 2013 teryx that was nothing but problems from the day I bought it. Fought Kawasaki for almost a year to get them to honor the warranty, because 1 month after I purchased it, it needed a new top end on the engine because it sucked so much dust in it in 100 miles. It was constantly overheating, I had to put a coolant temp gauge in it, and a switch so I could turn the fan on before it hit 230 degrees when the computer would turn it on. Nothing about a Kawasaki is reliable. Not to mention changing a belt was a full day ordeal or a 700 dollar bill at the dealer. I feel sorry for anyone who gets suckered into a Kawasaki product.
It's a shame pay $30+k for a under powered plastic bucket on wheels. For that money you can buy a small real truck or a Jeep Gladiator that are not only street legal, but will out last these pricey plastic containers on wheels. Great video!
They are street legal in half of the USA. I’d drive a $5000 beater truck before a $5000 beater sxs. And a new Jeep lasting longer than a Kawasaki is debatable.
he fails to mention the incredible heat from the engine behind the seats , under the seats and behind your legs. The noise at 5k rpms is like sitting in a canyon. Yes I have one and this summer you will hear alot of bitching about kawasaki's snow job. They released it in cold weather so the butt smooching mag writers wouldnt harp on the heat and noise. It gets so hot it warped the air cleaner cover on mine.
The “down is up” window switches are a safety hazard. A cnild can easily get they’re head stuck in a closing window. That’s why they haven’t done this in cars for many years
the people bitching in these comments is absolutely hilarious. most of them just as well go buy a vehicle instead of one of these. one of these is damn handy around farms and ranches and such and they're actually getting a bit too fancy for that because it adds to the price tag ..
I want to sit in with engineering! Something I have been thinking about is adding 4-6” of cab behind the seat. Little more leg room, some place to put a sweat shirt. Like a little extended cab truck. Wait for 34k maybe I should build an off road truck😂. Nah I love sxs’s
Arctic cat/ textron had that with the havoc and that was a great machine. I owned one for 5 years with a few tweaks it could have been an amazing machine
Im a welder with kawasaki working on the ridge line and honestly this video made me feel a bit better about what im doing

@MrAllenski65
Dont think you were in defender ltd.
Good seats and good doors, not too much tech the way i like it

Got one ,pounded it .big difference is that it doesn't fall apart or break down like all the others.probly why it has a 3 yr warrenty.
0:28 voice crack that never got cut killed me lol

This is the exact information I was curious about. You are a patron and a saint.
"the butt smooching mag writers" !! Never read that, good one, I've come to not trust much of the mag reviews.
What sxs doesn't give heat? Or have noise. This is still quite than any of the other ones in the market
@MrAllenski65 not even close, it's very noisy as 30mph. The Devender is much much quiter
Another fail is it’s tall stance as it won’t fit in most extended high trailers that are 84”.

Please give us clue about the sound quality from sound system.

The engine is high revving and noisy
1:36 all specs show 12.7” travel
Just orded the Limited
The price is a good thing...lol
Cost more than my 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD off road new, shzzzz
These new utv's are way over priced!!
For real. You can buy a brand new Jeep for that price
Why spend that much on a toy you can buy a truck cheaper
For that money I would buy a nissan frontier 4x4.
Just saying.
