Had a new Kawasaki mule pro FXR a 2023 model that thing was junk and my dealer would not work with me on the warranty I traded that piece of junk on a can am defender the defender is a phenomenal machine . And that dealer sent that mule to another Kawasaki dealer and they did the warranty work on that Kawasaki is only as good as their dealers I have to say Kawasaki has zero stars from me
We have a modest ranch, used a dually then a yota, finally bought a honda pioneer 1000 5. Not going back to using a truck. Bought the honda for the transmission. 2,500 miles later. I love that thing
Funny thing is, this doesn’t account for breakdowns! I see 100 Polaris to 1 Kawasaki’s broken down on the trail. No way you will ever see a Polaris on my trailer!
last year I bought base model Can Am Commander 1000, it was just under $20,000. Rocky Mountain ATV and Super ATV both have excellent products that are easy to install, I enclosed my cab for just under $2000
I honestly like it, a few tweaks and there would be one in the Hunterworks Fleet. A camo HVAC model, arched black A arms and lower the RPM in High Range, 8500 at 57 is around 2000 rpm higher than any other HVAC utility type vehicle. My opinion is that with this rpm you will have the same clutch issues as the KRX does when it is ran at higher speeds for any distance. The CVT stays closed up and then that accelerates the clutch wear because all the parts are not moving, just sitting in one spot.
I'm a Kawasaki fan at heart ... But I'm sorry they missed the mark on this one all together... For all the hype I expected much more.. Sure the four cylinder engine is okay but literally only putting out 116 horsepower (premium model only) versus Polaris 2 cylinder with 114 hp really? Also look at the suspension, nothing but toothpicks (not even arched) something that Polaris did on their 24XP 1000. Obviously they're trying to copy the general or Ranger here. You have to buy the premium package just to get 30-in tires... come on, it's 2023 now. I'm no engineer but the architecture was right there with the KRX.... Use that chassis, utilizing the four cylinder engine, and create a overland body for it ..( have it come in a bed fashion or full on SUV status like the expedition, choices are great!). Reutilize the strong components that the krX is known for such as massive arched arms, solid front diff, excellent belt life, strong axles, but I suppose that just would make too much sense??! Kawasaki needs to fire their research and development team, seriously very disappointed I give this a c+ rating overall....
Alex has returned from vacation. Now all my brothers have returned yay I’m happy as is Brendan. Awesome vlog. Love it. Let the adventures begin and the facetiousness
As someone with a couple side by sides (Polaris Ranger 500 and Yamaha Wolverine X4), I think your comparison is off. This seems more like a “premium” competitor to a Ranger XP and General. Numbers are one thing but how it actually performs is another. It may bridge the gap between the XP and General. I am curious to see the actual performance of the motor though. Is it a low rpm tractor or does it need 7,000rpm+ to make power?
I live in upland Wales, Great Britain. I have a fully enclosed Yamaha Viking. All my neighbours run Polaris Rangers. My Viking is better for towing, more stable and safer on sloppery grass slopes. Also, over 8 years, it has proved to be 100% reliable, unlike any of the much newer local Polaris machines. Polaris cabs are far more watertight though. The one on the Viking leaks like a sieve, a significant irritation, as it rains a lot here. Looking forward to seeing the new Ridge, if Kawasaki ever decides to sell it here, (unlike the current TRX.)
I think the pricing is fair in comparison to the rest of the market. This model definitely compares better to the ranger XP. I don’t really understand what Polaris is doing with their line up right now. It just seems like they have to many machines that are to similar. The ranger HD1500 and the expedition are just stupid prices for not many more features. They are just making to many machines and I feel it gets confusing for people looking at them. I am excited the Japanese manufacturers finally have a cab machine on the market. I’d 100% buy this over a Polaris. Interior looks nice and you know it will hold up. The belt is no concern to me as I know Kawasaki hasn’t had to many issues with cvt clutches. Belts can last a long time if the machine is driven properly
Ranger 1500 is in a league of its own. Nothing competes against it. Defender vs ranger xp vs ridge. Defender limited wins this class. then above this class is the ranger 1500
I always figured if I ever rode in a sxs I would want one. I finally rode in one and I don't think I will ever own one. I don't own a ranch or a farm, so it is just a toy for me. I prefer my King Quad over the sxs.
After the kawi release, I love my defender even more. I was hoping kawi could pull it off but they failed to come close to competing with the ranger xp and defender limited.
The ridge should have been compared to the polaris 1000 xp northstar or the can am defender hvac..and yall did not mention the xr ridge model..the polaris hd and the expedition are in a class of there own
Why compare to the 1500 XD? The only thing they have in common is they are both new and expensive. This thing needs compared to the General, Ranger 1000 XP, or CanAm Defender Limited. The good news is that at $34,500 for the top Ridge model it makes me feel better about the $45,000 that Polaris is getting for the Ranger 1500 XD! You completely missed the mark on this video this unit needs compared to something in its class.
What? The Teryx engine is old. This is a completely new SxS engine in a completely new Kawi machine. Their base model has lower HP than the XR version. Why would they stuff an old V twin in a new machine designed with the new engine in mind? makes no sense. Your comment hurts my brain!
@@pajamatime5750 it was just an example - don’t care what engine it is just stuff some smaller engine in and make it basic and sell something like the defender hd700 to compete with the volume market.
Why aren’t you comparing these to the Can Am’s Defender? The Can Am Defender has been out for a few years with heat and air and an enclosed cabin. Polaris doesn’t lead this segment anymore.
I agree I bought my ranger cause got a good deal on it. But I'd like to get a crew as well, debating on kind, I do like can am, but interested in cfmoto
The Ridge compares to the Ranger XP1000. You have flawed from the get-go. The XD1500 is a new class. There is not a competitor yet. The Can Am Defender is right in there with the Ranger XP and the Ridge. I bet the price is more in line as well.
Four-seater ranger 2023 XP model Northstar edition starts at 35,199. Would you guys stop hyping up? Kawasaki. Price too much for the for they are offering. The Ridge is not comparable to the 1500 Ranger. Payload max towing will blow the Ridge out of the water. So a better comparison would be the Ranger crew XP 1000 Northstar edition.
Personally, I think you should have compared this to a CANAM DEFENDER! Ht Defender only lacks the electronic displays in the Ridge an the Polaris, but I think CANAM will have those in the future. Th Ridge electronics will only work with an apple IOS system!
I have a cannon HD defender limited and a Polaris 1500. I'd like to count Em a lot and it is held up well but it simply is not in the same class as the Polaris 1500
This guys doesnt have a farm and dont know the effort it takes toearn money, and spent in on a polaris xd or xpedition. Farms on mexico could affor it, but for cows dont think so.
I'm not just hating on Kawasaki at this point,. Polaris also doesn't make sense with the release of their massive expedition and having it come with their whimsical 114 horsepower 2 cylinder engine. What they should have done is insert their 1500 triple in that massive vehicle versus put it into a smaller Ranger., Drop the Hd lineup and add it to the expedition line up and have the option of the heavy duty suspension or not.....(Make this a choice of the consumer) Once again, these engineers don't make sense and I think the market will show it or learn from their mistakes/shortcomings.. what happened to basic common sense?..... Someone please tell me!
This new industry trend in my opinion is the wrong direction. Prices have gotten ridiculous and have paved the way for companies like CF Moto to gain traction. Here in Southeastern Kentucky I don’t see this Kawasaki or Polaris’ new Gucci ride selling well.
I like how you dorks keep saying Ranch 😂... people in the country know there is plenty to do off pavement and no a pick up truck can't go everywhere these do. Try going to the back of your property in the dead of winter in a F150... you'll be walking back.
I find it funny you buy a jeep to take the doors and stuff off... now you buy a side by side to put doors on........ very dumb and extremely expensive. Just buy a jeep or samurai lol
The diference between the Kawasaki and the Ranger or Can Am is reliability. Kawasaki wins hands down
It’s not even close!
Had a new Kawasaki mule pro FXR a 2023 model that thing was junk and my dealer would not work with me on the warranty I traded that piece of junk on a can am defender the defender is a phenomenal machine . And that dealer sent that mule to another Kawasaki dealer and they did the warranty work on that Kawasaki is only as good as their dealers I have to say Kawasaki has zero stars from me
You should have compared the Ridge to a XP 1000 Ranger NorthStar, not the XD 1500...
Totally agree. The Ridge is not an HD 1500 competitor. It’s more of a Ranger XP / General competitor.
Exactly. The comparison is flawed but it should’ve been against a XP.
I get it that they are talking about the XD, but to compare it should have reen the ranger 1000xp
This guys are paid by polaris, ridge is to compete with xpedition
Agreed
We have a modest ranch, used a dually then a yota, finally bought a honda pioneer 1000 5. Not going back to using a truck.
Bought the honda for the transmission. 2,500 miles later. I love that thing
I have had two Mules and they are SO much better built than the Polaris models. Not even close.
Polaris is a piece of junk!
Funny thing is, this doesn’t account for breakdowns! I see 100 Polaris to 1 Kawasaki’s broken down on the trail. No way you will ever see a Polaris on my trailer!
last year I bought base model Can Am Commander 1000, it was just under $20,000. Rocky Mountain ATV and Super ATV both have excellent products that are easy to install, I enclosed my cab for just under $2000
And Kawasaki has WAY BETTER DEPENDABILITY AND WARRANTY.

You guys should test some yamaha's like the Viking for utility. Yamaha is the Toyota of ATV/SXS.
Yamaha isn’t the only one. Kawi, Honda and Yamaha make great machines….

92hp is only the base models.. 116hp on the upper models & they also have a bucket seat with center console option on the limited…

if it has a cvt problem we can fix it like we did on the krx with our tungsten coated weights
Ranger 1500 is in a league of its own. Nothing competes against it. Defender vs ranger xp vs ridge. Defender limited wins this class. then above this class is the ranger 1500
Good review but you did not mention the wet clutch when talking about the CVT's.
An important point I think
Much more comparable to a Ranger 1000 not XD 1500. Usually TFL is much more on top of things like this
I always figured if I ever rode in a sxs I would want one. I finally rode in one and I don't think I will ever own one. I don't own a ranch or a farm, so it is just a toy for me. I prefer my King Quad over the sxs.
Still rather have my defender limited over both of these.
After the kawi release, I love my defender even more. I was hoping kawi could pull it off but they failed to come close to competing with the ranger xp and defender limited.
Other than in quality and reliability…. Kawi is so far ahead of Polaris and Canam it’s crazy
Can am Defender 6x6? It starts @ 24k for the XT, and 33k for the Limited.
Is the 'Reverse' Chain or Gear driven ?
The ridge should have been compared to the polaris 1000 xp northstar or the can am defender hvac..and yall did not mention the xr ridge model..the polaris hd and the expedition are in a class of there own
What is the AC like I know Polaris struggles with theirs
Is there going to be q turbo or supercharged version?
I'll keep my Uforce 1000. Full enclosed cab with same hauling and towing capacity for 17k.
How do you like the CF Moto so far? I’ve heard good things lately.
Btw i was hoping a DCT instead that CVT transmision that i m not agree on any new UTV.
Nice video if that thing would cost $30,000 with a full inclosed cab I will stick with a Can-Am defender hd-10
Ty just bought one.
Why compare to the 1500 XD? The only thing they have in common is they are both new and expensive. This thing needs compared to the General, Ranger 1000 XP, or CanAm Defender Limited. What's the a/c like??????
No mention of the XR!? Ummm…
The pricing is way too high! Rip City for a single cabin 2 door! 😂🤦🏼♂️🤷♂️
For the cost of an expedition i can buy to kawasaki ridge 😂
It looks like a Honda pioneer 1000
Why wouldn't they sell a base model with the Teryx engine, too? The decisions hurt my brain.

Does it have a front locker? Or is it still a three wheeler, like a mule.
front locker on the XR only
Ranger 1500 is a larger machine though
Why compare the Ridge to new XD 1500? Obviously its not a HD edition.
What about the new brute force
The Ridge compares to the Ranger XP1000. You have flawed from the get-go. The XD1500 is a new class. There is not a competitor yet. The Can Am Defender is right in there with the Ranger XP and the Ridge. I bet the price is more in line as well.

I have a cannon HD defender limited and a Polaris 1500. I'd like to count Em a lot and it is held up well but it simply is not in the same class as the Polaris 1500
Your bub was supposed to say ( I like the can am alot additional has held up well but...)
I give up...
I would go for a diehatsu hijet 4x4 pick up k car
Doesn't this compare better to ranger XP1000, not the HD1500.
Elect dump box!
Kawasaki is better. Better machine, reliable, and proven, cheaper.
your not comparing apples to apples. Use the Ranger 1000 xp Northstar to compare.
Not sure how they can compare to the 1500 when they have not used the 1500. This machine might be great but it is not in the same class as the 1500.
Bad comparison ...
I farted
🤣
Why were you comparing this to a 1500 Polaris?
This guys doesnt have a farm and dont know the effort it takes toearn money, and spent in on a polaris xd or xpedition. Farms on mexico could affor it, but for cows dont think so.

Make it street legal....golf carts 🤔✌️
There is nothing out there to compare to the Ranger 1500, you should have compared this to the Ranger XP.
Agreed. Not in the same class. Also, they can't do a credible comparison when they have not seen one of the rigs in the comparison
118 hp not a fair comparison
This new industry trend in my opinion is the wrong direction. Prices have gotten ridiculous and have paved the way for companies like CF Moto to gain traction. Here in Southeastern Kentucky I don’t see this Kawasaki or Polaris’ new Gucci ride selling well.
Rmax 2 cylinder 108 horsepower 1000cc more cylinders more gas rmax much better machine looks better that’s a Polaris copy
Buy a 4 door Pickup and see the USA.
I like how you dorks keep saying Ranch 😂... people in the country know there is plenty to do off pavement and no a pick up truck can't go everywhere these do. Try going to the back of your property in the dead of winter in a F150... you'll be walking back.
Can am defender?
You can buy a jeep wrangler for $30,000 new with a 5 year warranty ? NO THANKS 👎 😅
Lost me at CVT.
Or you could just buy a used jeep, with heat and air. Street leagel in all 50 states. Just doesnt make since anymore 😢
Just mini jeeps. All this for nothing.
For the price of these overpriced SXS’s get a gladiator
I find it funny you buy a jeep to take the doors and stuff off... now you buy a side by side to put doors on........ very dumb and extremely expensive. Just buy a jeep or samurai lol
❤❤
Kawa-rippoff.........
Is this guy homeless?
