I love the fact they have installed heat and Ac and a closed cab on these finally! I love to ride in the snow but it’s to cold even with a helmet and layers on! Now we can be nice and toasty. And I like that it’s a 4 cylinder to. I bet these will last really well!
Kawasaki requires helmets on these events. If you want sunglasses, sometimes it’s more comfortable to just wear tinted goggles with the helmet. I wear prescription glasses and they suck in a helmet. I’m assuming it’s the same for regular sun glasses. The helmet doesn’t make a lot of sense, but it covers them if something was to happen.
I know it isn't a direct comparison, but for equivalent $ (low to mid 30s) you can buy a Maverick Tremor. I know you hear it all the time but the prices are just too high for an off-road work machine.
You want get that ford Maverick where you can get this! No way no how! Your truck would be stuck and this would keep right on going. I know it’s not a sport Side By side but they still go really good! But yes they are expensive no doubt! Prices should start coming down soon.
Im very familiar with those trails. Should have gotten off the easy green/blue trails and onto the black trails. Also passed up a lot of good mudholes where you could have tested the power.
@Propelled it's not a race... maybe for fun. But obviously you have never been in a large group of different machines. You have to keep up! If you can't you should have stayed home 😆
I just test drove the Ridge Limited and yes, the cab is loud at all speeds above 15mph! I tested the DBs with my DB meter. At 25 mph in high, the cab DBs were 91 and the engine rpm was 5,900. Much too high for just cruising on the trails. Forget trying to have a conversation with the other rider unless you shout or stop! At 40 mph the rpms increase to 7,500 and the DBs rise to 94!! Shouting at one another at this speed doesn't help to be heard! Don't believe reviewers when they say the Kawasaki Ridge Limited or XR are quiet. They are just repeating what the manufactures want them to say. Test drive one and see for yourself?

Good veedeeeo. Nice Rig. Would have rather Kawasaki done something out west. Arizona, Utah, Colorado. Trails in WV are highways compared to western states.
Thank you, Alex, great detailed review. Love the part-time 4x4 instead of full-time. Don't know what sales show, but IMHO Kawasaki gets lost behind Polaris and Can-Am. I am more of a fan of Honda and Yamaha.
They all get lost behind Polaris and Canam. Thats because those two manufacturers are constantly releasing the “latest and greatest”. Honda, Yamaha and Kawasaki tend to be more conservative with their offerings and much of the off road crowd wants the newest, fastest machines available - so they buy Polaris or Canam. In reality, the three Japanese manufacturers build far better quality machines that’ll last a long time vs the other two. Kawasaki is right up there with Honda and Yamaha and, in fact, they warranty their products far longer to…. Ya can’t go wrong with Kawi!
In Canada the Xr model is 40K + 15% sales tax. Plus freight (2200.00) , PDI, rear bumper, side mirrors and a winch, side nerf bars - 54000.00 Canadain dollars!!! OMG never will that happen. How much will this depreciate in the first year alone?
Haha zero need? Polaris is doing it already…. Why do you need them in a vehicle like a car / truck but think they’re useless in a sxs?? If it’s winter and cold they’d be nice to have I think, no???
Kawasaki is my brand. But at these prices, shy of being very well off with $, I would just buy a Jeep. For that matter, there are a lot of things you can do with $30K to have this level of luxury and be street legal. Being well off with $, I would just buy the best they got with all the whistles and bells and brag my ass off. lol And gloss over the fact it still runs off a CVT.
So the lower models come wi th a winch but the upper models don't? Why am I paying 40k loaded but then spending another 1000 for a winch. No heated seats at that price point . ,like don't ask premium pricing and then skimp out.
Finally a review of the machine, its options and features! Just tell us about the machine! Good information for the consumers who are interested in what IT IS and not "what it compares to" or what "class its in". Kawasaki can say its in the Lunar Lander class for all I care. When I was shopping for my first OHV I made mention of some of the machines I was considering and was chastised by "class and comparison" nazis that informed me what machines I was not allowed to compare, like it was their money and that their opinion mattered. Online "opinions" are about worth what you pay for them. The real question is, are those "opinions" payed for by someone else?

also we test drove it and the interior noise is much more than any reviewer has let on. Very high revving engine, we also disagree with how the machine looks - very stubby looking.
You can find at most dealers right now in Arizona the 24' Limited for 26-27K ! I test drove the Limited & XR and the cab noise was "LOUD" at all speeds over 10mph. 6,000rpms at 27 mph in high...Deal Breaker for me!!
It’s just another business expense for me. Pretty cheap compared to the $127 per acre to fertilizer my spring corn crop + $129 per acre for corn seed + $330 in diesel per tractor per day. Hell, I might get 2.
@@davek9378 Yes! Our input costs are way high! I will plant 700 acres of soy beans and no corn this year in southern Michigan. And a really nice farm truck is around 90k. I watched the Ridge video and I ordered a Ridge Limited. At my age, I appreciate value, and this machine is loaded with value. It will be used on my farm and on trails so I wont have to use my truck and get it scratched and it is not as much fun to drive as a SXS.
Too much movement of your helmet mounted camera made me dizzy. Even the transition when you’re showing features up close it’s s too fast. Please slow down!

I don't think it's a good idea to make the side-by-side's too quiet inside like street cars that are completely sound and envioment insulated. You don't realize how fast you are driving. If you're in a fully enclosed side-by-side with sound deadening air conditioning stereo, you could get yourself in big trouble on some of these trails not realizing how fast you're going
@patd4u2 in Michigan we ride these day in day out on bad weather and good. You get tired of the drone noise. If you don't rise much and don't know - then you don't know what speed you're driving. I get it.
I learned to drive back in 1972 in a Datsun pick up. And you could not hear the stereo inside the cab when you were going 55 miles an hour on the highway, now you're driving 75 miles an hour in a completely soundproof interior and you do not realize how fast you're driving, I think that's why it's dangerous to have a two well insulated cab in the side-by-side's.
I think a V8 is minimal for such a vehicle. And one definitely needs at least a 100 mph vehicle for off-roading. Also key components like satellite guidance system. Airbags, subwoofer, huge speakers of at least 400 watts. Wouldn't that be nice. Dear God we've become a spoiled culture. What a waste

I pre-ordered one for May delivery! Looking forward to comparing it against my RMAX. Thanks for the video!
Excellent review Alex!
Well Done on all the information!! Is there many squeeks and rattles? How is the cab noise? How is the drivers leg room?
Can someone please explain the wisdom behind requiring goggles while driving a fully enclosed vehicle?
Like when you saw someone wearing a mask driving alone on the highway during the lockdown.
