Delphi CRD Injector Crank No Start

  • We commonly receive Technical Assistance help requests relating to Delphi injectors that came into the workshop running fine, but are now a crank no start after any work that involves air entering into the fuel system.
    Common vehicles this affects include the 2.2L Captiva, Hyundai Iload, Great Wall V200 and Ford Mondeo to name a few.

    Excellent info and explanation of the problem I have with my Captiva. Two mechanics have not been able to find and solve the problem. Has taken a while to locate the RIGHT info to fix the car. Hopefully it will be solved by doing what you've explained. I'd rather not have to remove and dismantle the injectors to free them up, but will do if required.

    Very good advice, had one recently that was failing Cyl 1 Injector, they are tricky for sure. Thanks for the great video.

    Omg you legend, thanks, v200, 2012, yeah was warned, and thought, I'd primed with injectors unplugged, but no. After rootin around, did your advice, and after 5-10secs ran, thanks 🙏

    Great video. Are these injcetors piezoelctric ? Is the blue signal on the screen negative voltage ?

    So leave the suction control valve unplugged means injectors can stay plugged if we are already in no start condition? I have great wall x200 with Delphi injectors. Is suction control valve and imv valve same?

    nice info mate i have captiva was running rough diagnostic tool showed 4 injectors cleaned injectors punt new washers was also showing fuel pressure sensor removed battery in order to get to the sensor sensor is ok checked ECU connectors by unpluging it and now still crank no start diagnostic tool shows immobiliser 😔 please need some help on this one.thanks.

    Actually i remember that i somehow found it worked when i changed fuel pump on Hyundai i20 1.1crdi. 1 injector wasn't working and unplugging and plugging back suction control valve helped, it unlocked that injector ^^ this advice works! But now i understand why 😂

    Hi just drop you this message was working on a Chevrolet Captiva 2.2 diesel replaced the faulty EGR valve, had to remove the fuel rail to gain access, this is what happen stayed stalled the failed to start! Watched video carried out exactly what you said and we got it running on 2 cylinder leaving run the 3 cylinders and after a run we had all 4 cylinders, thanks you very much for the advice!

      Mate, how long did it take for you to get a cylinder to fire? I'm getting it to the point where is sounding like its about to fire, but never fully. I've run the battery flat half a dozen times now.

    I really enjoyed your video. I'm currently having this issue on my ssangyong. I replaced the motor and ran for 20 seconds then stopped. I tried to bleed the system but won't start. How can I unlock the injector of they are jammed? Thanks

    Amazing, i have second time failed to start Delphi injectors, they got air and block. Need to take out and get to diesel injector test, where they can make pressure enough to open them. I'll try this method, hope it will work!

    hoi, i had black death. i cleaned but with cleanning also my marks for injector belong to his cilider dit also dissaphier. now i put them in and with foxwell i read the codes . but not sure this are the write codes. after the cleaning i had to put the injector in randomly. it are delphi for mercedes e220cdi 125KW . engine runs but on idle i here little knock. when give more rpm its gone, just a litlle more rpm, and ,not sure yet but with engine warm iddle smootly with no knock. when engine cold idle also normal but little knock. do i have to learn in back the injectors? or ? the codes on the injectors are gone with the black dead. Iff i read with foxwell now , codes come for every cylinder '/injector, butt are this the codes from before or from the injectors who are now in that cylinder? car drive good and have power. Only the littttle knock worys me. car only have 142000km ,88000miles. Do you have so advice? thanks in advance. sorry for my bad englisch but i am from belgium

    I have 2018 2.0tdi VW Crafter and I'm in crank no start situation. Seems that I cannot get the injectors to open, no matter what. Pressure is good in rail and so on. Any suggestions anyone?

    Unplug the fuel pressure sensor on the rail. The ecm will give max pressure to get the injectors going again. Works every time.

      🤔It will default to rail over pressure and, cut fuel to HP pump inlet via IMV.....fail safe.

      From my experience delphi system won't cut the injector off right away Bosch does cut off the injectors right away.

    Hi' I have just had an engine fitted on my 313 sprinter. Mechanic has fitted new delphi injectors but wont start. Delphi say injectors have been scarred and are now knackered (won't replace them) have you or your followers experienced this , what could be the cause and do you know of a solution

      Hello there I hope this helps…I had this same issue we replaced the engine on a Sprinter 313 cdi due bent rod and of course we have to drain the fuel from the system we put everything back together as it should but didn’t wanted to start we found that the injectors got seized up shut we sent them to a shop to get them open and gave us instructions on how to bleed these Delphi injectors they’re pain in the rear but this how you bleed them when they’re completely dry 1st leave the injectors unplugged 2nd do not plug the return lines 3rd cycle the ignition about 5-6 times until there’s enough Diesel in the system 4th tighten the lines then lose them about 1/4 turn 5th have someone to crank the engine until you see Diesel pouring from the lose lines 6th close the lines 7th tell your buddy to crank the engine again until you see Diesel coming out of the injectors thru the return holes 8th plug the return lines 9th crank it again few times 10th plug the electrical connectors to the injectors, it should start
