I feel you my brother I have been coming here for the last 12 yrs, finally I have decide to move here from UK. Been here like a month and half and I am loving it. The food, the transportation the infrastructure is just insane. I literally bought Quality food from the market enough to last me 3 days and I spent only 6 dollars.
As a Thai, I moved to the US since I was 10 years old and I came back to Thailand to visit my family, I bought a round trip ticket after that I just stuck in Thailand for 8 years now. Crazy Thailand.
Worst part of Thailand is the flight home, hopefully one day it’s a one way ticket. Right now I can only dream of living there but fingers crossed this dream comes true. We can show pics and videos everyone says that’s awesome, but we can’t let them feel how the Thai people make us feel while being there, that to me is the greatest part of this wonderful country

I was in Thailand in '93 as a foreign exchange student. I had an entire family when I was there for 8 months. It was the first time EVER in my life that I felt like my spirit was at home. I LOVE the Thai ppl and the food! I HAVE TO GET BACK! I lived in Sommakon Village in Bangkok.

That smile and happy heart are exactly what I felt and had when I was there in 93 as an exchange student. So much so my friends there nicknamed me "Yem" which means smile. I couldn't stop smiling. My soul was happy.

Wow!!! I am always amazed about quality of life compared to USA the Thai people seem genuinely happy and so respectful in greetings and they build great real estate. I am always so amazed at the quality of construction the the buildings are artfully built absolutely the best in luxury. I live in Manhattan New York and rent for highrise apartments that are considered luxury that don't even have pools, exercise gyms or green spaces nice roof tops are $5000 to $7000. I really look forward to my visit to Thailand but don't know if I would consider living there permanently but definitely a great place to luxuriate and enjoy a great vacation 😃

But, the north has incredibly bad air pollution almost 5 months per year! It’s consistently worse than china’s polluted towns. Fir me that made Chiang Mai a deal breaker… which is a shame because it’s awesome otherwise.

I find residents are living in CM in complete denial. I lived there one year, and my lungs hurt every day for 3 months. My eyes were itching and watering too. While I was in Thailand I was shown a few condos and what I noticed is that yes,,, the Apts are smaller but hey that's cool for the great price..
