I got my new '22 ForgedTecs yesterday (4-PW) and went out today and fell immediately in love. So soft, so amazing. I don't see my replacing these for a LONG time.
Got fitted for the forge tec x and have been gaming them most if this golfing season. Butter smooth off the face, distance is phenomenal and they're super forgiving. I struggled a lot in the beginning because I'm 6'7 and have never been fitted for irons before. Once I learned to stand a bit more upright, I was amazed at how good they are. I got 5-GW but still struggle with the 5 cause it's more like my old 3 iron which went as far as my old 4. Great vid James.
Me too! I would love to go out for a test round with the 2022 one lenght but crazy, i can‘t find a shop here in Switzerland who i could rent a standart fitted set of those for a round! Only the LTD one lenght version but im not interested in these bcs the new ones loook soooo much better! All the best, cheers from the alp country🇨🇭🍫😃
I recently purchased these new Forged Tec in One Length in the 5 and 6. They are amazing and long in the one length model. My 4 iron is the Forged Tec Utility One Length driving iron. And from 7-PW I play Mizuno MP20 HMB 2deg strong to match the set.
When you say you are playing a stinger shot, can you explain the changes you are making in setup and swing with the particular club at the time, compared with a normal shot, the same when you are making draws and fades, this would be interesting to me and possibly others.
I have the copper finish on the 2020 forged tec. I love the clubs but the finish wears off the bottom very fast. Stick with the chrome if that is an issue for you.
I bought the forged tec irons last September and i do like them but saw the new forged tec and i loved the new streamlined look, i have thought about upgrading....looking foreard to your review before i make my decision 👍
I've got 4-pw in the new forged tech. Coming out of a set of Mizuno 921 Tour. Have to say I'm very happy with the Cobras. As soft or not softer feeling as any forged iron I've played over the last 30 years.
What were you hitting before? Mashies and niblics with hickory shafts? Forgive me, but just changing irons and dropping 15 strokes is a bit hard to believe.
@@thegolfingmusician6345 I'd hazzard a guess that Steve was playing something too blade like that he couldn't hardly get airborne. I've shaved 6 strokes a round off by buying a Taylormade Spider GT Notchback putter and another couple with a Stealth Plus driver. I'm back to where I was 5 years ago in the high 70's. It's amazing what a bit of high tech can do sometimes.
Glad to finally see a comparison between the models. I absolutely love my copper ones so I am not sure if I will trade them out for a new set as of yet.
I have noticed on these videos that the sound track is quieter than other peoples videos and quieter than the adverts. Any chance of levelling the sound? Thanks. B.
The 2020 forge tec are amazing and I have been playing them for a couple years. Would love to try these! Any chance you’re doing a Cobra give away contest?
I know it is a bit weird for one guy to compliment another guy on his clothing, but I really like the shirt you are wearing James. Okay so I really enjoy these types of comparison videos. Please do more of them. Also, when you and Chris do a best ball format. Looks like a bit of a stormy day. Fall is coming very quickly.
bought the dynapower forged, then got home went to a local shop to get some shoes, and tried a demo set of these. uhm best iron ive seen and tested in years. dammit....i cant take back the set i just bought cause of trade ins. ugh...
I LOVE the look of the forged tech irons. I’m a high handicapper who usually shoots low to mid 90s and worry they are too much of a players iron I would love to see how foxy would get along with the forged tech X!
Dress for the job you want not the 1 you have! Im a 20 handicap and I play better with my pxg 0211's then I did my cleveland launcher turbo hybrid iron set, I couldn't stand looking down on them it made me play worse. These forged tecs look great, I have a set on the way!
Dude, I'm usually 85-90 but if I play clunky and chunky GI irons I barely break 100. It's BS that chunky/ugly huge offset help you. Using these HUGE bulky irons will definitely destroy your game, and you will never improve. I see guys plying these big bulky irons that have been playing for 20 years and still shoot high 90's and into 100's. I started playing mid 2021 and within 6 months playing cleveland Cg blades i broke 90 and then bought the x2 hot pros and I've shot as low as 82 once. In my book, big chunky GI irons should be banned lol. I'm looking to upgrade soon to forged tec or MP 225, or P790. I also loved the feel of Titleist t200 (7-PW) but on the longer irons I couldn't hit them that well. I love the look of Callaway ST pro also, but for some reason could not hit them nowhere near as good as forged teck, mp 225's or the p-790's. So yes STAY away from large bulky with huge offset irons, you'll improve with something like these much faster.
@@otherone1234 thanks for the info! Any reason you’re looking at the P790s over the 770s if your straying away from the larger heads? Should I try to find a medium like the 790s?
I'm a lefty as well. I got fitted into last year's model after trying all of the comparable irons. I would recommend going in with a few brands you like the look of and keep an open mind. I went in thinking I'd wind up with p790s. They didn't even make the top 3.

Awesome the long awaited video. Thanks James
I switched from the 2020 to new ones. New ones are way better. Feel better, sound better and distance control is better.
I'm tempted to do a one length forged tec fitting next spring

I have them, and have to say don’t waste any more time hitting anything else. They’re amazing.
The like is for Chris "well done! you made a divot!" 🙂

What shafts do you play in each?
Would love to see some numbers on them compared to the old ones!
I've had the Forged tec x irons for about 3 months now....one word sums them up.... awesome...

I love Chris’s club shuffle before he hits a ball

Tested these against the Mizuno 225 and Cobra won on the day. Excellent feel and forgiveness. Very happy with my decision
I just got fitted for these. I went with forge tec in PW - 7i and forge tec X in 4i - 6i. Never thought I would swing cobra, but they feel very good.
Is the distance gapping good? With the X being stronger lofted
I think the new ones look stunning
They look awesome mate and I’m looking forward to seeing your review
I love the 22 forged tecs they sound and feel great 👍 👌
Cobra are being new , new clubs are looks great ...so solids feels , ....like to buys ....more on ...

How do the distances compare between new and old?
Fun comparison
Love the look of the new ones
Definitely a sharp looking set of irons
The new ones look great.
The look on James face when looking at your dirty clubs!!!🤣😂
and the irony is, James is not the best at cleaning his own clubs LOL

I play miura 301. If I bought new irons today, I would go with these. They are gorgeous.
I play the Forged Tec x. Went from shooting high 90’s to low 80’s in 8-10 rounds

Sexiest irons in the game outside of the RF blades.
the Morecombe & Wise of golf strike again 🤣
do like the looks of the cobra irons though 😍
Seen these golf balls in American golf (Rife RX5 Tour Feel) and was wondering if you could do a review on them to see if they are any good. Thanks
I like that the new ones don't have the big ugly KING on them.

And that’s the problem, consistency
I’ve got the 2020 version what’s the differences between them and the new ones?
I just got the forged tec x and love them. Used to game ap3's.
yeah i won't be forking out another 1200 bucks for a "new look"
I'll stick with my 2020 version
I used the forged tec 1 length and don't see me changing anytime soon to the new ones
What’s the feel? The old was a fabulous feel for a non forged club
What are the lofts?
Love the shirt. Who makes it?
I’m still playing the Forge tec black. Absolutely love hitting them but how much improvement has there been from model to model?
im tipping not much but will certainly go and test these
I was hoping someone would give the tec black some love. Still playing mine 4 years later
Still rocking them too!
I am about to unsubscribe. Always the same. Interesting video and at the end there is not a firm conclusion.
Extactly how i feel about this channel

That shirt is sharp! Too bad they don't make larger sizes.

For some reason… the NEW forge tech look like the Costco Cobra set… might be don’t or how they just have COBRA in big print. 🤷🏼♂️

It's not really about the score today Aye right 😂😂🏴
Want to try the Forged tec x , but our pro hasn't got a left handed demo.
I just got fitted for them and I from what I can tell you they are a longer more forgiving version of the forged tecs
@@bradenehlke7652 Sounds like what I'm looking for. Pity I can't try them.
Mister Dennis Chris. Nice to meet you.
I have to say, the new Forged Tech look so much nicer than the old. I'm not a fan of the look of the old ones at all.
It’s the Taylormade P790/770 looks just like them.

I may be stupid, but I don’t get the title of the video here James? Which irons are ruined? The old ones are awesome, and the new ones are awesome.
I have the f6 clubs and play off 17.8. would these be ok for me to play?
