      Much more classic BMW, same for the G20 5 series! It's kind of interesting that BMW would have got the feedback that BMW enthusiasts love the classic BMW lines of these two models yet changed the styling direction anyway (cough, XM).

    I couldn’t be more happier with my M2CS with a DCT. I haven’t driven a manual but the 7 speeds keep it in the sweet spot of the power band quite nicely I think. The low mileage DCT’s are still fetching a pretty penny as well ( although not as much as the manuals). If you’re chasing lap times the DCT is the better car.

      I wonder if Fenton subconsciously drives harder on the side of the road away from the sheer drop? Indeed, most of the videos seem to be on this side of the road (away from the sheer drop side)... but maybe as more of an expert driver, he switches the part of his brain responsible for fear off and is happy to drive just as hard on the other side of the road! 😃

    The CS is expensive and at first I thought it was way too much over the comp (which is what I have) but say you don't wan to track it, the things that come on the CS are things people spend thousands to put on their comps, the 763 wheels, carbon lip, diffuser, spoiler, mirrors. Then you get a carbon hood and the roof. All those things alone will basically be the extra cash and you also get the "nicer" seats and better suspension. (and the misano blue color is great, the one to have on the CS) . However if you going to be tracking it then be better off spending the extra 30k on mods and have a more capable car (starting with the CS and then moding for the track seems like a waste).

    • @deadhouseplants64
      @deadhouseplants64 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      None of those things really equal out to $30K, though. You can get pretty much all of them added to a comp for under $10K. The suspension can be changed with coding.
      Since you're going this route with not tracking the car, you're losing out on things like a usable center console, better climate controls, and usable doorcards. The only thing that's worth while on the CS are the CCBs.

    • @oficina_moomoo
      @oficina_moomoo 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@deadhouseplants64 hmmm 10k? Try again. The 763M wheels are 5k, the carbon hood is also close to 5k. All the other carbon stuff is like 4 or 5 so we are now at 15. How much is a carbon roof going to cost ya? Installation not cheap and run the risk of leaks. Then a tune to get to cs levels of power, another 1k. So you are probably on low 20s and we are not even talking about suspension, nicer seats and bit more special interior and eventually maintaining the value way more than the comp. The asking price really was a better proposition than it looks

    • @deadhouseplants64
      @deadhouseplants64 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@oficina_moomoo 763M Wheels you buy for $1040 each, let's give you 5K. You then sell the 788M wheels for $3K. ~$2K.
      GTS Hood is $5K if you want to pay OEM BMW price, which you shouldn't. Japanese (best quality CF) hood, $1200. If you really need a CF roof (which you don't, the weight savings are minimal and should keep the alum. roof) there's one for $980. CF lip, diffuser, spoiler for around $1600 total. ~$3800.
      Suspension, steering is literally the same in M2/M3/M4 Comp+ models, it's just coding. ~$150.
      A CS tune from BM3 comes with the BM3 license, so that's $595 but you can buy them used for $300. ~$600
      All in all, ~$7500 to include the cost of installation of parts. You could buy OEM M4 Comp seats (if you really want "better" seats) or OEM CF buckets form the G8x platform and still come up with extra money from the $30K.
      The CS interior is a gimmick for a daily since there's less comfort and places to put things.
      So no, not a better proposition than it looks. It's actually worse.

    • @elephantsandbadgers9189
      @elephantsandbadgers9189 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@deadhouseplants64the cs has the same door cards and climate control as the comp. You can’t code anything with the suspension, the cs has a different setup with adjustable shocks.
      BMW will sell you all the parts you need to make your comp a cs for well over 20 grand. The last I checked the center console was north of 8 grand.
      Go for it, enjoy the depreciation. CS prices will follow the 1M trend, comps won’t.

  • @TassieLorenzo
    @TassieLorenzo 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    The CS is really nice, it's spot on IMO! What bugs me with the new standard M2 is that BMW have deliberately made it softer and more mild to make space for a Competition or CS later on. By all means leave out the more expensive options, but why not give the standard M2 a stiffer, more dynamic suspension?

  • @volodymyrshoniia2424
    @volodymyrshoniia2424 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    The steering/LSD/dct/Dtc programming can be updated to M2CS version on any m2. Camber correction hubs are standard on the CS for extra -0.5°, but you can fit them to any m2 unless you'd rather do adjustable front lower control arms or camber plates; this should be where most of the steering difference comes from.
    Even a base m2 is traction limited (especially FBO + tune, can also upgrade a turbo for more top end excitement without sacrificing response) which makes it engaging and fun in a goofy way, but it wouldn't be able to keep up with something better balanced like a Cayman in the corners 😢 it does have better sensation of speed, but it's also a lot more work to drive fast since the turn in is nowhere as good, and it just wants to go sideways instead of putting power down, guess just front engine things. Sadly ohlins roadsport (road and track with softer swift springs and 3dm valving to match them) doesnt sort it out completely, need to do more to the suspemsion, add more alignment capabilities and maybe a front sway bar (stiffer front springs probably could've worked as well).

    • @grigorioschristodoulou5229
      @grigorioschristodoulou5229 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's crazy how much different the CS feels compared to the Comp, which drives much closer to the OG, bar the engine. The adaptive suspension is for sure classes above the standard items in the OG/Comp, and the calibration definitely plays a role. I wonder how much the benefit of the sandwich CF roof is. Since they also use it in the Racing version (unlike the bonnet), it must be adding significant stiffness to the platform, allowing the dampers to do their work.
