Never understood how BMW can make a smaller coupe than a Mustang or Camaro and their back seats aren't usable whereas the 2 series is. However with a CONVERTIBLE 2 series back seats suck.. they move too vertical and you lose a lot of space on the sides. The Coupe is fine!

Agree with the huge muffler; there’s a $5 fix - spray paint. Specifically, use high-temp BBQ paint from any hardware store. I painted mine satin black on the 2nd day of ownership & did the same on my Jeep, because it’s lifted and has a similar highly visible muffler that started to discolor.
I also prefer the looks of the M2. I guess it depends on what you want. The BMW is way more practical and can easily be had as a daily vehicle. The Supra could as well but you would have to be much more of a "small living" kind of person. You can’t take a lot of things with you, there is hardly any storage on the inside, and it is way smaller as well. It is, however, the superior car when it comes to driving feel and handling!
OMG yes. Japanese car with some German parts or a Genuine German performance car isn’t even a fair comparison. I am not sure the two car even attracts the same price point buyer.

Nicely done review bud. Just wanted to point out the reason for the muffler hanging so low. BMW says it is to prevent parachuting in the rear bumper. The grooves in it are to channel air below and around the bumper. They don’t want air getting into the hollow of the bumper to avoid drag. Also means that they didn’t install proper underbody aero panels and are thus relying on the low hanging muffler instead.
You have to wait 2 minutes for the exhaust to fully open up with the pops. Also if you tap on the gas in m2 you can instantly hear the exhaust open up, but it won’t until you give the pedal a little tap.

Really have fallen in love with this car. I’m looking for one now, their price has gone up during these weird times so a well kitted used one is almost as much as buying new would have been. I had a 2020 M2 for 3 years and I really liked it. It's a fun driver's car. My biggest complaint was the stereo. It's pretty abysmal for a 70k car. The interior could be a bit better too, but drivability was great. (although I'd definitely go with the manual. It's too bad you had the auto here) That being said, I only put 18k miles on it, and had a few problems. A rear seal and then some sort of belt issue that they never did fix before I traded it in on a new RS3 I ordered a year earlier. I took it in 3 different times in the month or two leading up to that. Any time I started it you'd hear a belt noise for the first couple minutes it was warming up. Overall I like the RS3 more, but the M2 was a cool car.
Nothing right now. I get press vehicles so often that I don’t really need one. However, I do plan to get something next year, God willing! Not sure what though. 🤔
Great review. Very Well done. This is the only BMW I care about and actually want. I still wish it was lighter weight. The muffler is quite unattractive. Otherwise a great car.
Nice review. Does it also feature Android Auto? I had an OG M2. To comment on the back seat, it works really well for forward facing car seats. Had two Clek Fllo's in it without issue at all. In fact it was very easy to get kids into with the wide front opening where my current Golf R is kind of cramped.

The needles are physical and the numbers are illumiated. The only part that's digital is the bottom that tells data and gear position. The car does not have runflats. Decent review, but more research is required. I don't even know why I am watching this when I own one already.
cool review. but two major points that aren't remotely based in reality: 1) @20:17 how is a m2c a "parts bin" car and the N55 M2 isn't....? the N55 was also an existing engine put in a new model. i'm super happy about getting a real M engine, instead of a hotted up non-M engine. 2) @21:10 the car definitely does NOT perform at its best in automatic. i'm sorry to be so blunt, but wtf are you talking about? in auto mode, there is a significant delay when you mash the pedal unless your rpms are already high. the only way to get instant torque while cruising is to have it in manual mode and drop 2 gears to get your rpms to 4k. on the other hand, the supra does not have this issue, it always has full torque on tap. but it also stops pulling at around 5500 rpm, while the M2C pulls all the way to 7000ish i also disagree that the supra has better steering. both are artificial, but the m2c weights up nicely with more load. the supra doesn't have this so it has kind of a rubbery disconnected feel, but it also has a faster steering ratio. supposedly you can remedy this by using polyurethane bushings instead of the oem rubber ones. your hands are a bit more busy in an m2c, in general. so i guess the question is, do you like faster steering? or would you want more progressive weight in the steering that gives a sense of feel, although artificial?

See that Texas Boy got them Jersey Plates on that Thang. LOL. Dont worry,We'll graft you in to the state Big man, LOL. Your doing an excellent, keep doing what your doing.
Not all dead pedal are chrome some are just plastic on m2c
You can probably paint that exhaust black so it doesn't stand out.
dream car
I also would get it with a manual! Decent price point for this car. Only issue is the ugly muffler; reminds me of the ugly front grill in the M4. I’d take a manual Supra next year... maybe!👍🏻
What’s with the orange reflectors on the front arches? We don’t have them in the UK
Nicely done review!
Very detailed. Thank you.
Well in Malaysia, this same exact car cost hundred fifty thousand USD.. I wish I live in the states where cars are so cheap..
I feel you brother.
in my country the m2 competition not the cs will cost you 160k
I wish BMWs were more reliable and less expensive to maintain.
Forrest i love this car but quick question M2 Comp or M4 ?
M4 only if you need more space. For everything else, the M2 is superior as a driver's car.
I had a 15 m3 and prefer it over my now 20 m2c.. idk y though
If my lil research is accurate, this BMW, the CS edition and the M6 are the only BMW cars (and the ones a lil before and after) with noticeable upgrades in technology. I really like the M3... But I can't stand the lack of obvious technology therein!
What?
@@nessuno5403 The BMW M2, M2 Competition and the M2 CS are the only BMWs I know about that has noticable technology upgrades... In it's class. I'm not sold on the other variants bcuz the technology in them are old!
@@errolmartin4173 I don't understand what technology you refer to. There's nothing new in them.
What is more fun? This or mx5
I’m selling my mx5 for this. Mx5 is fun especially a manual RF, but this car is raw power
Thank you for this detailed review! I’m looking to get one and this informative video basically sold it for me.
Great review, but I think the leather is really crappy for a car on this price point.
The instruments are not digital, the needles are analogue but seem digital bacause they are backlit.
Car does not have adaptive cruise control nor lane keep assist. those are lane departure warning and frontal collision warning. The gauge cluster also is not fully digital. The needles are physical and the numbers are illumiated. The only part that's digital is the bottom that tells data and gear position.
The car does not have runflats.
Decent review, but more research is required. I don't even know why I am watching this when I own one already.
cool review.
but two major points that aren't remotely based in reality:
1) @20:17 how is a m2c a "parts bin" car and the N55 M2 isn't....? the N55 was also an existing engine put in a new model. i'm super happy about getting a real M engine, instead of a hotted up non-M engine.
2) @21:10 the car definitely does NOT perform at its best in automatic. i'm sorry to be so blunt, but wtf are you talking about? in auto mode, there is a significant delay when you mash the pedal unless your rpms are already high. the only way to get instant torque while cruising is to have it in manual mode and drop 2 gears to get your rpms to 4k. on the other hand, the supra does not have this issue, it always has full torque on tap. but it also stops pulling at around 5500 rpm, while the M2C pulls all the way to 7000ish
i also disagree that the supra has better steering. both are artificial, but the m2c weights up nicely with more load. the supra doesn't have this so it has kind of a rubbery disconnected feel, but it also has a faster steering ratio. supposedly you can remedy this by using polyurethane bushings instead of the oem rubber ones. your hands are a bit more busy in an m2c, in general. so i guess the question is, do you like faster steering? or would you want more progressive weight in the steering that gives a sense of feel, although artificial?
Enjoy your terrible exhaust on that “rEaL m EnGiNe” absolutely abysmal and I’d be ashamed to drive one
Also detuned 🤣
Awesome review, no nonsense and to the point! Thank you!
Awesome car man!
Why almost?
the bottom thing is ugly :(
Sounds like a lot of road noise or is it something else?
I own one, its pretty loud inside. Road noise from the tires mostly.
Is that reap carbon fibre in the interior or fake ???
Real.
great review
the gauges are not digital.
All sports car look good in red or similar. The worse you can buy is a Ferrari that is not red!!
