      Lets see Joe ! I think it is - given all those CF parts - Roof , Bonnet , Interior , Tricolour M Badge on the seat , etc , and given that its a limited edition - and its coming with a 6MT !

      Get serious envy seeing you reviewing the m2. Wanted 1 since it was first released. It's got that slight mental side the M cars of old used to have.. with the cs it Depends where the extra 22k has been spent. Did it go on interior design or was it spent wisely on the mechanical side making it more of a monster.

      nope. u simply get an m2 comp. pack it with every mperf parts + stage 1. bamm you have a much better car then the CS. and you end up still cheaper. i dont wanna be a hater but really this car is just a cash grab nothing more.

    • @ianmitchell9102

      If it drives 10% better, I would say it’s worth the £22k extra. It’s a very rare model that will probably be worth £50k plus in 10 years time 👍🏻

      I have a manual M2C and before I brought it, I seriously considered waiting for the CS, but couldn’t see the additional 20+k in cost! (my car had 600 miles on the clock at a very good price so the cost difference was is even greater!) Yes there is some more carbon fibre and some other changes, overall it didn’t tempt me!
      Is it a true Ltd edition car? It’s Ltd by how long it is being produced for, but who knows how many they can/will produce in that period, probably plenty....... give it 12 months they would have dropped to a more sensible value and make more sense, but I don’t see the jump from the comp to the CS as enough of a step to warrant it, perhaps you’re video will tell me otherwise!
      Having said that it is a wicked machine and you can’t deny it looks mega!
      Sure this video will be great as ever mate, keep up the good work!

    Joe, I don't know if you go back and read comments on old videos. When the OG M2 came out, I greatly wanted one and couldn't get it at the time. You were one of the primary TH-camrs I watched to get my M2 fix, since I couldn't have one. Now, years later, I finally got my OG 2018 BMW M2, with a stick, in Long Beach Blue (I don't know if the color names were the same across the pond). Now I'm watching M2 videos again, except because I own one. I prefer the OG over the C and CS. Thanks for the videos and I'm still watching.

    BMW has a very simple formula for all the CS cars. Use high end tires to increase the performance; Use carbon fiber parts to increase the price.

    • @RB-xv4si
      @RB-xv4si 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@thisisrob8750 adding the CF roof is a performance gain. I’ll give them that. But it stings to remember that CF roof was standard on an M3 and M4 (even without a comp package!). I never found out if they upgraded the M2 CS driveshaft to carbon fiber, which, by the way ALSO came standard on base M3s and M4s, until they killed it off because of the new required particulate filter encroaching on it (it’s a larger diameter than a standard steel driveshaft).

    • @tomkinross7213
      @tomkinross7213 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It doesn't really 'sting' as much, not having equivalent CF of other models, when the chassis engineering & torsional balance is considered. Precise & considered use of materials/attributes efficient, too much is not..

    Look at the M4CS and M3CS and you'll see they aren't really holding any value for being "Limited". My local dealership bought one in for less than £40k and those were going out for £90k+ at one point!
    Amazing car but not £20k+ more than a comp amazing. However you aren't "smart buying" a M2CS this is for those who want it and the price is irrelevant which i'm glad they make it for more choices the better.
    Excellent video as always man!

      The M3 CS is holding it more so than the equivalent M4 CS, but that’s simply due to it more limited numbers, but yes other than that they’ve both lost a big ol’ chunk.

    • @ohgodwhy
      @ohgodwhy 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I think it's good because it just shows that the market wasn't happy to be ripped off. The current prices are more reflective of their actual value and tbh it was frankly a joke to charge £90k for it.

    • @ethanwaterfield8368

      9uard it’s more than just software... GTS Carbon fibre bonnet, different mapping and boost pressure (more linear), higher pressure oil pump, standard air con with rear delete, Gerny flap, 19/20” staggered wheel setup with light weight 736M as standard, different sway bars which are standard front, comp rear. springs being non-comp with sunroof front and non-comp rear with spring rate setup to cup 2 tyres. revised differential and comp based exhaust with stainless steel tips, as well as CS specific software. Admittedly abit of a parts bin car, drive an M3 Comp and a CS back to back and they feel like a completely different entity. Even if you have GTS and CS software coded in it still doesn’t feel like a CS. It’s how the F80 should have been all along.

      Cenkhan Yilmaz you could and admittedly probably the more sensible choice... however it’s no where near as engaging as a CS and or as special. The M5 is excellent, but it still feels a big near 2 ton machine that just doesn’t give you that driving feel.

    Nice vid.
    I really like the CS, but I struggle with the price of it especially if they deprecate like the last CS cars. It’s be hard to look passed the GT4 at that money.
    An M2 is my next move from my M140i, although used M4’s look like great value for money at the mo.

    • @jetx2599
      @jetx2599 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t understand the M2 depreciation curve. They are depreciating so slowly when compared to the M3/M4. A used 2016 M2 is more expensive than a used 2016 M4/M3 despite the M2 being 20 k less brand new

    • @samcourt6228
      @samcourt6228 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jet X it’s nuts isn’t it? I really fancy an M2 but a sub £30k M4 looks much better value via the AUC site and with a far wider choice. Size wise the M2 suits me because I get on with my M140i. The M3/4 is a big old beast now and the none Comp ones are a bit spiky handling wise.

    • @jetx2599
      @jetx2599 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sam Court yeah I am also thinking of just buying a M3/M4 as it will be minimum 5k cheaper and a better deal considering the base price of the M3/M4. Only worry I have is that it will lose its value while the used M2 will probably hold up better but used M4/M3s are so cheap right now it’s a deal anyway lol

    • @SH7SH7SH7

      You’d have to stage 2 an M2 non competition to get the same kind of power as a standard m3/m4 non comp pack. The M2 does like nicer than an m4 though with its wide chunky stance and definitely sounds better.

    CS will probably hold its money well so taking into consideration depreciation the extra money initially spent will be clawed back on resale value. When you compare it to the Porche Caymen GT4 as a road/track car the outlay becomes more questionable. Probably down to how much you value four seats. Don't think I'd change our comp for a CS though.

    Excellent video Joe I love the CS here in Canada they’re are roughly 30k over the comp model I must say that some of the biggest differences you’re highlighting are the suspension and stickier tires but let’s not forget the forged wheels that will contribute to the ride as well. The adjustable suspension is nice but I think the comp is very good around the city especially our shitty roads here in Canada. I’m not sure how much of a difference 40 hp makes I’m sure it’s the map that’s slightly different. But nonetheless the CS is a sexy car the carbon bling is awesome I can’t wait to see one on the road.

Why would you mess with a CS though, I suppose, anyway :-) Surprised the 763s are gloss black as the dealer spec (non cs) items are satin, which definitely looks a lot nicer, IMO

    Nice bro again Joe. I am glad the cs has normal door grabs this time . Wondering how much weight saving has been done on this. The comp is great too. The m4cs seemed a waste of money to some but they still all sold out. I wished the m4 cs came.with the same door trims as the the m3 cs did. But hey ... that's all done and gone. I recommend anyone to buy a cs while its here. But then again the comp can be made to look like.a cs and.STILL you have chance in your pocket. Hmm.
    I'm a m8comp coupe lover so I can't really say too much . Joe.... when the m4 coupe arrives I hope you can test that . It's almost a smaller m8 coupe .

    Over 70k for an M2 is just insane no matter how many tid bits are on it!
