Thank you for the very in-depth and articulate breakdown of the meltdown. I hope that it helps those partners who are neurotypical to better understand the "why" behind their partner’s behavior while also helping the neurodivergent partners better help their partners understand the dynamics of meltdowns. Your video is very much appreciated.

If it helps one other couple and one pair of parents I’m grateful

My pleasure. It’s important to talk about for healthy family life in my opinion. Especially for neurodivergent families.

I have been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD, OCD and I believe I also have autism. I also have always been hyper sensitive to smells. Cigarette and marijuana smoke really mess me up, especially now that I'm older (59). I definitely have gut brain issues also.

It sounds like your sensory profile is super highly tuned. This helped me so much to understand my and my kids and husbands sensory profiles: neurodivergentinsights.com/blog/8-senses

Calling me your Partner if kind of offensive if we aren't in law enforcement. I would probably use the word Partner when I don't want anyone to be in charge of anything. If I use the title wife or husband I might suddenly become obligated to fulfill that role. Nearly all problems can be fixed when we stop lying to ourselves.

Could this be a self control issue?

Yes, it is. The ability to parse correct narcissism responses is impaired, typically by the diet/lifestyle choices.
