I learned really early to hide all of my stims. I chew the inside of my mouth, sit on my hands, sway when I am standing, wring my hands or constantly put on lotion. I hid them so well that I didn’t even realize that I had stims. I am so sound sensitive that I can hear what everyone in the house is doing and I can hear all of the electronics in the house buzzing and squealing. Including the lightbulbs. I am also fairly gender fluid as well.
Top video again! I heavily relate to all the points once more. Just got ADHD assesment done last week and waiting for the report, but the doctor mentioned that I seem to be "mildly" ADHD and showing more autistic traits. This was really a relief, now it is confirmed that I'm not an imposter 🙈
Feeling like an imposter happens to me too, again and again. Making these videos and getting comments from you guys also helps against that. Like, yup, I am actually autistic even though I've gone through life "fine" without knowing and without accommodations.
I have twirled my hair for as long as I can remember. My mum used to get so mad with the mats and knots I’d get. I’ve done it so much I haven’t cut my hair for over 10 years and it’s only shoulder length. I do everything on your list too.
I really identify with the things you say in this video. But I wanted to say that gender fluidity is not about sexual preferences, is about what gender you feel or how you perceive yourself, also one can be bisexual without ever being with someone of the same/opposite sex. Someone who appears to be straight cause they've always been with the opposite sex, may be bisexual but may live in fear of being judged so they never tried to be with the same sex. That doesn't mean they are not bisexual. All in all, I'm not criticizing or anything like that, I really like your content, but I think it's important to use the right terminology when it comes to these topics. Cheers!
Ah thanks for pointing it out. I should have used a different example in that case. My sibling who is also on the spectrum is non-binary for example as well as many other autists I know. That's what I also wanted to mention but it would be too much of a blanket statement. So I just went with my experience. Your comment is valuable! Thx.
@NeurodivergentMom you're welcome! And thank you for putting this information out here and sharing your experience. It's very appreciated, and it's nice knowing we are not alone in this experiences. I wish you all the best, and best of luck with your new special interest! ✨
@@NeurodivergentMom oh and I forgot to add, that it is true, there are some studies that link a correlation between being autistic and being non binary. So I don't think you are wrong in your original statement :)
As an autistic man, I am very attached to the reality or truth of things and ideas. This is why I have a lot of trouble watching videos illustrated with more or less appropriate video clips of people faking emotions. Actually so much so that I just stop watching because they are not truthful and they distract me from the explanations. Thank you.
@@NeurodivergentMom Yes of course but why the BS imagees? They remove all perception of truth from your explanations and bring them down to the level of clickbait unfortunately.
Why do you think that ur crush on a girl was bc of autism? Because I mean bi sexuality is real 😅 and could also present itself leaning more towards one gender

Thanks for sharing your loved experience. It helps everyone who also needs to see it

I can understand. You can always listen to the videos only, podcast style. Then you can still enjoy the content without the stock video footage.

I knew I was different.

Stimming can be from Adhd too and not necessarily Autism!
