We had a “forever” home, and ended up being there 18 years before the Lord moved us. At the time, it was gut-wrenching!! Since then, I’ve never let myself think “forever”. The only forever home I have is Heaven. Very wise of you to have that attitude.
My parents had a huge life shift after my youngest sister went to college. We had built a beautiful home when I was a young teenager and that was home for me, and still is when I think of Texas. It hurt my soul when they moved. We thought it would be one of those landmark homestead legacy purchases that we kids would continue for years. Life and the Lord has other plans. Thank you for reminding me, this earth is Not my home, I am just passing through. We are currently finishing up a huge remodel for our own "little" family and we tell each other often, we want this place to be nice, but it doesn't need to be perfect. This isn't our forever home.
Lady, you never have to justify your family decisions to a bunch of strangers online. Do what you got to do, and decisions ultimately come down to what you and your husband decide. We don’t get a vote and we don’t get to disapprove of your decisions.
I've never connected your channel with your home. Don't sell yourself short. It's so much more. I see your channel as ideals and encouragements for being a keeper at home and godly living and loving your family. Exiting news. Looking forward to what you will do with it all!
Every old home was once a new home on land...You are simply doing the same thing in a different century. You are simply continuing the same progress. Creating your homestead. ❤
Yes…and from a spiritual perspective, it’s gonna be hard to find an old home on remote land that isn’t full of oogy old energy…I don’t think you were finding anything because those places just don’t match your energy imo…times were hard back then and creepy things have happened in a lot of those houses so, I think this plan is perfect for you…❤
For the bros: They bought property, more land, with a creek, and they're building a new house because after looking for years, they couldn't find something within their budget that had all the things they wanted. The end. You're welcome.😂
Can I just say I appreciate that you never do clickbait titles, Lisa! I knew this was what you were actually going to say in the video when I clicked on it. So refreshing. Congrats to you guys and excited for all that is to come!! 😍
By the way, I often have 4 little girls here in our house ages 10, 8, 5 and 2 they are orphaned and live with Grandpa. So my husband and I have them over for the weekend twice a month and they love watching my “Inspiration Lady” videos with me. That’s you! You’re our inspiration lady! They love watching your girls in the kitchen, makes them feel they can also do that and we go and cook something right after watching your videos! thought I’d share that to bring you an extra smile today!😘
I’m an OG Boone Street gal and I couldn’t be more excited in the news that we are moving! New content, a fresh take on home design, home making at its best. Watching your family grow, anticipating the next stages in life, and a bountiful of blessings. Best of luck, many blessings! 🌻
I feel strongly that the Lord is pouring out blessings over your family! He prepared your heart in so many ways for what's to come. You are brave and not afraid of doing hard things to make God's vision for your family come to life. If you just continue doing the work of a faithful servant, HE will reward you big time! If you live in alignment with the Lord, he will move your heart in HIS ways. That is why you fell in love with that town home that came on the market later. That is why you slowly warmed up to the idea of a "new old home". The Lord works in mysterious ways. I have seen him work for the good of my family and it thrills me to see his hand in your life. I am SO excited to be following along with you all! Lots of love and blessings from Michigan!
I see you more as a "home is wherever your family is" type. You homemake, create, provide for your FAMILY. You encourage others to do the same no matter where they live. Excited for yor family!!❤
As a wife married to a contractor (retired now) we’ve built 9 houses and remodeled 6. We lived for a few years in all of the new ones and some of the remodeled ones. I hardly ever get extremely attached to any of them. We’ll stay in our current home until we’re too old to take care of ourselves. 😉. I say all of that to say that I love the new builds because you get to do it exactly like you want it. Enjoy the build and excited to watch as it progresses.
You Absolutely DO NOT have to justify your life choices. Your followers are in love & passionate about YOU & all your encouragements. Viewers are not in love w/your house or property. Surely everyone is excited for your family’s positive life changes. No one is going to unsubscribe because you moved into a new/different house. Bravo your dream has grown, changed & found the necessary avenues to move forward. Looking forward to watching ur dreams come true. ❤
I have watched your show since you lived on Boone Street, and you kept me company during a very difficult time in my life. Thank you so much. Congratulations on your success and building your home. I’m still here and will be in the future.😊
I’m an OG from Boone St but I’m good with the move. Not that it matters. I think it’s exciting and helps me imagine the possibilities of change in my own life. You go, girl. May packing be light and swift.
Love that you're talking to camera. I know the trend is moving away from that, and it's probably easier to be private with voiceovers, but for me, I prefer this format. Congratulations on the life change. I can't wait to see your build.
Pfffft…..you can do it and I can’t wait to watch !!!! I love old also but the benefits of new looking old is definitely a positive, everything will be square, no plaster walls, no musty basement, no leaky basement walls, no mice holes to find, no constant repairs, no walls or ceilings without insulation, no insulation full of mouse or bat poo, no rotted wood areas and all the things with old houses to deal with. Old or new, it’s a house but the family inside makes it a home ❤ I have no doubt you will make it a beautiful old farmhouse !!! I’m so happy for you !!!
I LOVE how you acknowledged how we never know how God is going to lead!! 👆🏻🙏🏻🤲🏻 As a Mom of 7 kids, and now empty nesters…with 7 Grandbabies, and I’m only 53 years young 🤭🤗.. we sold our big family home we built and now live in a 3 bed, 2.5 bath townhome, and we LOVE it.. enough room for kids visiting etc.. but we never know the gifts the Lord has in store.. I’m THRILLED for you and Luke!! 🙏🏻👆🏻🙌🏻
Love hearing your story. I don’t believe in the forever home concept, I’m grateful what god has me in now. Life changes so much, so just follow His will
I really loved the last home you added onto and renovated. However, we totally understand your new move! We were in the military for over 25 years, and we’ve made “home” of many homes! But now, we’re in our 80s and we built this home and decorated it. We consider this our “forever home” and our next home will be in Heaven! Enjoy your new home!🥰🙏🏻
I think historic homes give a sense of heritage and charm that a new place never can. But you have to go where your heart leads. A family and love make a home.
One cannot build a truly historical house-it will always be new. The key to creating a timeless building lies in the detailing, complexity, and craftsmanship. Historical buildings were once new, yet they were admired from the start for their beauty and attention to detail. Over time, they gained character through patina and wear, but their timeless quality began with thoughtful design. To achieve this, observe old buildings closely, studying proportions, layouts, and fine details like doors, windows, and trims. Look at them holistically, from top to bottom, understanding how every element contributes to their harmony. Incorporate artisanal craftsmanship and materials that will age gracefully, ensuring the building develops richness over time. A timeless building is not an imitation of history but a design rooted in authenticity and care. With this approach, a new building can become one that stands the test of time.
Exciting times and days ahead. As believers we cannot say our “forever” home because we only have one “forever home” and that is in eternity with Jesus!! Thanks for sharing your lives and content with us!! Blessings
Wow everyone who makes it on TH-cam always moves up and out. Not a surprise. Just know I like watching you because you take something smart and small and make it big and beautiful. From small ideas to big ideas and smart decision to aesthetically pleasing ones for you and your family. You share so much! I learn a lot. Stay true to you and I look forward to seeing your ideas evolve. ❤
Congratulations on your new chapter! Just a word of advice from someone who is currently building, take notes about the place you’re in. Things you like, and things you’d change if you could, and things you straight don’t like at all. Notice measurements, and other details too. Like how deep or shallow are the overhangs on your house, how you like the “bird boxes” to look, etc. A lot of those things are things I never noticed about houses until we started to build and we had to make decisions on. Good luck! And thank you for sharing your journey with us!☺️
I’m with you. I stumbled on a house near me that was a new build, but built to look like an actual old farmhouse. It was the first time I was tricked and couldn’t tell if it were new or old. It prompted me to also consider the same idea. I even sent a letter to the owners and they gave me their builder information! So excited for you!
“A new old home.” I totally get it. I’ve always dreamt of building a new fully modern beautiful Victorian mansion and hiding the modern amenities as much as possible.
You don’t owe anyone an explanation honestly, you do what makes sense for you and your family. I wish you all the best, happy thanksgiving and blessings.😊
68 year old empty nester here. I am still not in my forever home on forever property! I think I have one more move in me. You absolutely can build new using reclaimed materials and end up with the results you desire!! I can"t wait to see what you and Luke do!!!
OG subscriber and I'm so happy for you! You helped me find contentment in my 1910 farmhouse and a simpler way of life. I'm so grateful and have so much joy caring for it!
I’ve been here since Boone Street! What a plot twist!!! So happy for your new journey. You are showing many families ways to live out all the phases of their lives. Can’t wait to see the years ahead with the kids graduating, weddings and grandchildren. So much to look forward to. Best of luck on your new adventure. From one of your faithful followers.
@ Its basically paying attention to what rooms in the house will receive sunlight at particular parts of the day. Where I live it is hot most of the year, so you want to avoid a westward kitchen. A kitchen with windows opening to the west will have all afternoon and evening sun because the sun sets in the west. It will be hot when cooking dinner. A sunroom facing north won’t get much sun year round. If you like to watch the sun set, a porch with views to the west is best for that. If you like to watch the sun rise an east facing porch is best for that. Etc
My wife and I used to go to a small farm called The Weed Lady! She grew beautiful flowers and herbs and had a barn full of fresh and dried flowers and herbs! She had huge wreaths hanging everywhere and the aroma and colors were wonderful Every time I see your barn I think of her! Wherever you go it will be warm and comfortable! Anyone that buys your current place will be lucky! I can't wait to see your new home!
I think a lot of us like old homes because of their neat histories, but really, I think it’s mainly because homes are no longer made with the same style and care. So a new old home makes perfect sense to me!
We bought an old 1800's farmhouse and outgrew it to where we added on. It is sooo hard to try and make a new build look old. The character isn't the same. You guys should stay in this one. It's so beautiful!
yep it does not look the same as an older home and it does not carry the same energy. An old home has such a homey energy from years and years of families.
My husband is a custom builder. He has restored many old homes, stone homes , log homes and new builds. We are seniors and he is still working at what he loves. 24 years ago we built a new home on a corner town lot…. It’s a one of a kind, with a porch, gingerbread work, pool for the grandchildren and it has all the character of a country cottage. We always say there is one more home in us. I am the keeper of our home and I love it. I am very happy for your family.
❤Our last property was beautiful, but the neighbors were difficult so we prayed for a healthier place to raise our babies. This home popped up 20 years ago with less land (2 acres) but in the perfect placement for all that we wanted to do (living in the country) without too much to manage while having jobs outside the house. I’m so excited to see how you decorate and ‘fix’ the new own home up! Thank you for taking us along!!! 😊
I have been following since the end of Boone St. When you moved into this current home, I really enjoyed watching all the renovations you did on the home. However, as I watched your family grow, I felt that you guys would move one day. You guys really brought this place back to life, and the new owners will surely enjoy it. I'm praying that your move will be fruitful.
Glad to hear you will be using reclaimed and salvaged materials and items where possible. It is a beautiful way to blend your love for historical farmhouse architecture with updated processes.
I missed how much acreage you are moving to but you will love it! We moved from less than 2 acres in a small neighborhood to 120 acres with a creek in the front yard. We are restoring the log part of the old farmhouse that was on the property and then adding on. The creek is possibly one of my favorite things about living here and not having close neighbors! That’s wonderful you don’t have to live in your house during the selling process. That was so hard for me to do like you said. Cleaning it from top to bottom and then getting out etc. can’t wait to see the house you come up with!
Oh Lisa, I can't wait to see what you can do!! My parents moved from a 1720 house to a new house, my mom was able to make it so cozy and beautiful. It was quite a change from 1720 but no more plumbing and electrical problems!! I'm happy for you and I know you house will be beautiful and you will make it "you".
Hi Lisa congratulations to you and the family on your next adventure. It definitely sounds exciting! I “found” you while you were in your current home so I hadn’t seen the older property at all (although I think I’ll search for an old video just to see how it all started), but I’m glad you decided to keep your personal life personal. I don’t think it’s necessary to share everything you all go through in life.
Oh Lisa this is SO exciting!!!! I too understand the mixed feelings & attachment to a house, and also as a creator wanting to explain all the background of how you came to this decision. But I am truly so excited to watch all of this unfold, if anyone can build a new house with old charm it’s you. Also hoping there will be in aga in the new kitchen so I can live vicariously through you lol!! So excited to see your whole design process, and what a blessing this will be to your sweet family!
Wow Lisa. What an amazing story. I have followed you since Boone Street. I am so happy for you and Luke and your children. You are a faithful servant, an excellent mother and you and Luke make such an amazing team together. You have followed The Lord, gotten out of debt and He has blessed you. He heard the desires of your heart and now just look at what He is doing. So happy for you guys and excited to see your new house build and the old soul and character you bring to it, to create the perfect environment and make it a home with a life story written into every nook and cranny. No doubt it will be absolutely amazing!!! Thank you for sharing. It’s so beautiful to witness The Lord Bless you and reveal His love for you in fulfilling the desires of your hearts! He is so good!!! 👑🙏🙏🙏🙌🙌💜
My parents built a house 20 years ago in this “new old house” spirit. The outside is done as a beautiful New England colonial and the interior design and woodwork is based around 1910. I grew up there and have heard so many people ask how old the house is, expecting it to be in the 150-200year range. Old houses have so much value but the “new house with character” is totally doable! God bless you on this next step of your journey. ❤
Hi Lisa, not sure if I've ever commented before, but your news today is bringing a response out of me now! Shocked, yes, but also, it was so helpful to see you turn loose of THINGS to move on to the next chapter of your lives. I too have moved in the last few years and I have to say, it was REALLY hard for me. We had just finished a "Cottage" also, which was an absolute Dream-come-true so I was totally bummed to leave it, but being near family was my exchange and for that I am eternally grateful. I have admired your home from afar SO many times and I appreciate your style. Continue in the lovely way you are and I pray your lives are blessed!!
I'm looking forward to your families new adventures. I love your current house, but I know you and Luke will make your new home just as beautiful. The main thing is you are all happy with the move. I once made a choice to move due to needing more space and other personal issues. I thought it was the right choice at the time to find out my grandchildren didn't want to move by that time it was too late but I learnt a very valuable lesson to include everyone concerned and not just move because it's more viable to do it
Isn't the character we love so much from old homes mostly from the craftsmanship and artistic style of the time? I know partially the look of worn wood is comforting. But these old homes were new once. I bet you and your husband will create your own version of home with beautiful creativity and craftsmanship.❤
Yay! Good for you! I'm excited for you and your family! Please show us how to make a new house have character. I live in a newer house and have been trying to do this for years
It’s nice to hear someone else share the same feelings about the term “forever home”. Also, you don’t need to justify your family’s decisions! ♥️ Hope your move goes well.
I’m so excited for you and your family. You are such an inspiration to me! We found our “perfect” place 7 years ago. I’m now 59, and wish I had another 50 years to get everything done that I I want to accomplish. You enjoy every minute of your new homestead. It will be amazing!! Southern Glory Farm
I’m so excited for you. I remember when you first got this place and moved, that was exciting as well. We are 69 and 73 and just bought 70 acres in the wilderness and starting over too, this is exciting news Lisa 🇨🇦🌷
We recently moved as well. So many people have asked if it’s our forever place, and I reply similarly to you. This is where God has us, we are very happy and will enjoy every moment God has us here, whether it is for the rest of our time here on earth or a few years.
Oh wow - congratulations, Lisa. I seldom comment, but I’m one who has been following along since the very early days of your channel. I really admire how you are open to saying “goodbye” to your homes that have been such a big part of your family’s life, and knowing that, while a home is a blessing, it’s the people IN in that make it important. I’m looking forward to seeing what the future has in store for you!
Oh Lisa, you have no idea how amazing God's timing is. My family is in the process of moving out of our home of over 17 years, and it is absolutely wrecking me. I know that The Lord has been in our decision and making things happen that are absolutely, undoubtedly His sovereignty. But we are leaving the house that my husband and I started I life together in; the house where I brought my babies home. We have loved and lost, shared tremendous joy and unbelievable sorrow in this place. And it is HARD. But, as odd as this may sound, seeing that other people (especially those who also love the Lord and have kids) are also going through a moving process and leaving homes behind that they love is inexpressibly comforting. Thank you for sharing this current season of life - it has been so good for my soul. If you have any moving tips and tricks, please consider sharing those in an upcoming video!
Be encouraged! We packed up and left our Blue State home of 46 years and moved to the Red center of the country. We treasure the memories of our old place, but have loved the adventure of finding and fixing up our new place. God bless you.
I am a mother of 3 soon to be 4 (baby is due Christmas Day) and the Lord just sold our house last month. We are now house shopping and there has been so many emotions. Lots of tears as we are going to miss the memories here. This was my husband’s and my first home together and we brought all of our babies home here. But the Lord knows best and He has an amazing plan ahead for our family. We are excited for the next chapter! We move about 3 - 4 weeks after baby is born! Our desire has always been to live closer to our church family , to have more land and have animals and so we will see what the Lord has in store for us.
You are so right about not knowing. I'm glad of that. I was married and had 5 acres and farmhouse with chickens and goats, did everything naturally. Grew our own food, had 5 gardens, herb and medicinal gardens, canned , fermented, ect..one day I came home from my part time job, and found that "dear john" letter. Lots change.
@@kristinccha I'm making it. Was in shock that he did things that way, but him leaving was honestly a blessing in disguise. I miss my farm and animals so much though. Had to sell cause I couldn't do it all myself. Moved to town again and don't like it, can't stand being so close to other houses and neighbors arnt the greatest. It is what is is. Only good thing is I'm closer to my church family now, they have been the best!
@@countrygalinthecity that is so much you have gone through! Your farmhouse sounds like it was wonderful! I'm so glad you have a supportive church family! They are the best
Lisa! I think it’s all very exciting and industrious and you will most certainly succeed in making your new old house!! You got everything you need to make that happen! Glory!
Building a new home to look old like you want seems like the best of both worlds. You can arrange the rooms to suit your needs and still bring character in with salvage pieces. Win! Win!
Congratulations to you n Luke. As they say, “ nothing is forever “. This is true to where you live. I’m really excited for you n looking so forward to seeing this house you bought n seeing your new/old house being built. My hopes that there will be no hiccups in the process but it will more than likely happen. It’s truly wonderful that you can do this financially. Looking so forward to another chapter your lives. God bless n God be with you all. ♥️♥️🥰👍
As you said, you invite us into your story, and we are lucky. You dont owe any explanations to us - do whatever is best for your family! That's what is most important and I'm glad you recognize that. I'm sorry if any followers don't.
How exciting!!!! you're living the dream! Can not wait to see what youre all going to do with the new home. Praying all construction goes super smooth!
Congrats! And as a fellow mom of MANY, it’s important to realize they don’t make homes for our size family. You have a duty to provide a home for your size family and finding a perfect fit is next to impossible. So happy for your new adventure!
As someone who has been following you since the beginning, has had six kids right along with your eight, and has enjoyed you immensely to the point that you are the only TH-camr I still follow, I am so very excited for you and your family! You have such a gift to make anywhere you are beautiful and homey and comfy and I have no doubt that the next house will be an exciting journey! Thank you for sharing your life. Thank you for your inspiration and your encouragement and know that I am praying for you during the season and my little corner of PEI Canada
Hello...I've been following your channel for a while and enjoy the content. Thanks for sharing the info about the new build. I noticed in this video the kids playing in the creek and I noticed a large culvert. Please check the water purity of the creek to make sure it does not contain run off of fertilizers and chemicals from the adjacent farm fields as that can be dangerous. I wish you and your family all the best with your exciting plans. Bill
It is great to keep an old house alive or even do what you are doing...re-creating the old over the new❤congratulations to all of you. You are all great.
You increased your bar of respect for me. Not only I love the way you show your life is but honoring the historic/early/primitve way of living is another level. On top of that, you want to build a house keeping the historic traditional 1800 way of building home is just wow. I hope you one day share your resources of inspiration about that too and share your journey of home building the way you are visioning would be so so awesome. Sending you all the supportive vibes!!
This is SO exciting. My hope is that we have more people who can build new homes the old way, pre 1940s. Jill Winger had this gentleman named Brent on it who does just that. Well crafted, full of character homes!
I’m very excited for you! We have a similar story with not being able to find a house with acreage that we liked. So we built. To my disappointment, our house looks much more modern than I thought it would. And unlike you, I haven’t been able to figure out how to add the character that I desire. I know you’ll make it beautiful!
Haha, I’m one of your original Boone street followers that met you in real life (Modern Homesteading Conf.) You’re such an inspiration both in homemaking and in business. Excited to follow along for your new adventure. And I agree you can definitely add character! We purchased my mom’s home that was built in the 90s. She did a lot of remodeling and our pantry door is from a 16th century church that was being torn down. It has the original hardware. We LOVE it, and it adds so much charm. We plan to add more as we continue the remodeling.
Smart idea. We are in our 60's almost 70 now. Let go of our large off grid home we put up 20 years ago. Now settling into a Cottage we are building. Our children are grown and it's time to think small. More time to travel and spend time with family. Will never let go of our gardens, chickens and ag rural living. There is a beauty in simplicity.
A lot of the fun is watching you adapt a new/old space to suit your family needs. I found your channel right before the move from Boone. Watched as you added a baby, and another, and another…. 😊 and now another adaptation! How exciting for us! 😂
Lisa, you and your husband can do anything you put your mind to. You are young, amazing, talentet, hard working people, full of life and dreams. Your new house will look awsome. Im so happy for you!
I am an OG Boone street girl! I loved your 1st house. You made your 2nd beautiful! And you will do the same for your new old home. We don't follow you because of your homes. We follow you because you are you!
We had a “forever” home, and ended up being there 18 years before the Lord moved us. At the time, it was gut-wrenching!! Since then, I’ve never let myself think “forever”. The only forever home I have is Heaven. Very wise of you to have that attitude.

Bless you for the service you give to these young girls.
That is so sweet of you to have those little girls over and be an inspiration to them!
How wonderful! Thanks for watching and sharing with them too...tell them hello from me!
So kind! I am sure Grandpa enjoys the break from parenting and is glad to have the extra love for his girls.
You’re very sweet and special to spend quality time with children who have lost so much. May God richly bless you!

Boon Street OG here, so happy for you! Whatever you do will be beautiful and I’m looking forward to enjoying the ride!
Can’t imagine negative feedback because you move, sad for them really. Congratulations, can’t wait to see what is coming next.
A NEW old house. Brilliant idea! This will be exciting!
Old or new, it’s a house but the family inside makes it a home ❤
I have no doubt you will make it a beautiful old farmhouse !!!
I’m so happy for you !!!
Absolutely! Old homes--though wonderful--can be exhausting
Exciting news! Looking forward to going on this adventure with you. Thank you for sharing it. 32:43
I admit I'm a bit sad to see this place go, but I am SO MUCH MORE excited to see what you do with the next place(s)!
Petina a will come along quickly with a big family like hers. ❤

That's wear and tear.
Patina comes with time.⏳️👍🏻
The moving videos is going to make so many new people find your channel.
Exciting times and days ahead. As believers we cannot say our “forever” home because we only have one “forever home” and that is in eternity with Jesus!! Thanks for sharing your lives and content with us!! Blessings

Beautifully said, and so true

Wow everyone who makes it on TH-cam always moves up and out. Not a surprise. Just know I like watching you because you take something smart and small and make it big and beautiful. From small ideas to big ideas and smart decision to aesthetically pleasing ones for you and your family. You share so much! I learn a lot. Stay true to you and I look forward to seeing your ideas evolve. ❤
@farmhouse Just don't leave us normal budget people behind!
Good luck! And thank you for sharing your journey with us!☺️
Building a new home will have better electricity and plumbing. I can’t wait to see what’s to come. I’m excited for you. Congrats to you guys.
Congrats. New adventures. New content. My dad always said the charm of an old house ends as soon as you flush the toilet.
lol!
I would love to find a new house like yours.
Please share ❤
please share the information
@@cathyB3713 well, it’s a local builder to me. Sorry!
@@AllisenByrd Thank you for the response! I'm happy you found the right builder. Congrats 🙏🎉💯
Congratulations on your new chapter on life. Home is where your heart and family are. Looking forward to future updates. Very happy for you all.
I love your old house, but I know you are gonna make this new future home even better. You have been not only an inspiration but a teacher as well.
I am 81 and I also have one more move…..to my eternal heavenly home…..and I’m looking forward to that.
OG subscriber and I'm so happy for you! You helped me find contentment in my 1910 farmhouse and a simpler way of life. I'm so grateful and have so much joy caring for it!
Right 😊
I’ve been here since Boone Street! What a plot twist!!! So happy for your new journey. You are showing many families ways to live out all the phases of their lives. Can’t wait to see the years ahead with the kids graduating, weddings and grandchildren. So much to look forward to. Best of luck on your new adventure. From one of your faithful followers.
build according to the sun ,sleep to the north, kitchen to the east, afternoon to the south, dining room to the west
Yes!
This is so true! We built our home 26 years ago and our sunroom faces north! Oh well!
This is so interesting! I've not heard of this before
I love these kinds of tips. Can you explain more? Also, what do you mean by "afternoon to the south?" Typo?
You bring a good mix of sentimental with practical, and a good reminder of keeping open hands to what God has for us.
I think a lot of us like old homes because of their neat histories, but really, I think it’s mainly because homes are no longer made with the same style and care. So a new old home makes perfect sense to me!
It does. But very expensive. Wish I had the budget to build it, we settled for a normal home.
Congratulations Lisa on your new adventure! God's Blessings for you and your family.
So excited for you & your precious family. Looking forward to following your journey.
I love that, 2 acres is totally manageable. I wouldn't be able to handle a large place where serial killers could lurk in. ☠️
I'm so glad you've enjoyed watching our family grow!
Been around since Boone and I'm excited to watch this unfold ! God makes all things beautiful in His time. Praying for you!
My favorite part of your home is your kitchen and you created that so I’m excited to see what you do with the new home.
Thank you so much!
Thanks for sharing your story!
A new, old home is my dream!! So excited to see you do this!!
I'm looking forward to your families new adventures. I love your current house, but I know you and Luke will make your new home just as beautiful. The main thing is you are all happy with the move. I once made a choice to move due to needing more space and other personal issues. I thought it was the right choice at the time to find out my grandchildren didn't want to move by that time it was too late but I learnt a very valuable lesson to include everyone concerned and not just move because it's more viable to do it
People are too dang caught up in other people's business. Thanks for taking us along!
I live in a newer house and have been trying to do this for years
I will be sharing the journey!
Yes, I have followed you since Boone st.
Wow. You've done phenomenal with your homes.
I wish you well. Can't wait to see your next chapter.
I can hardly wait to see the new videos. Congratulations on your new home!! ❤
It’s nice to hear someone else share the same feelings about the term “forever home”. Also, you don’t need to justify your family’s decisions! ♥️ Hope your move goes well.
If you are excited, I am excited for you! I can't wait to see all you share!
Thank you for the kind words!
I am so happy for you Lisa! I think it’s gonna be great. And that creek just looks dreamy.
I’m so excited for you. I remember when you first got this place and moved, that was exciting as well. We are 69 and 73 and just bought 70 acres in the wilderness and starting over too, this is exciting news Lisa 🇨🇦🌷
Congratulations on your land purchase!
@ thanks we both have an exciting year coming up
We recently moved as well. So many people have asked if it’s our forever place, and I reply similarly to you. This is where God has us, we are very happy and will enjoy every moment God has us here, whether it is for the rest of our time here on earth or a few years.
Congratulations! I commented two babies ago, your family outgrew the farmhouse. Excited for the new content.
I've been watching since Boone St. Looking forward to your next chapter!
Thanks for being with us all this time!
1:58 🤚 ME! I’ve been here from the beginning. You taught me how to make curtains from a drop cloth and I was hooked ever since! 😂
Life is always changing! We make our plans, but the Lord directs our steps!
How exciting!! So happy for you and your family!
I hope you're doing ok
@@kristinccha I'm making it. Was in shock that he did things that way, but him leaving was honestly a blessing in disguise. I miss my farm and animals so much though. Had to sell cause I couldn't do it all myself. Moved to town again and don't like it, can't stand being so close to other houses and neighbors arnt the greatest. It is what is is. Only good thing is I'm closer to my church family now, they have been the best!
@@countrygalinthecity that is so much you have gone through! Your farmhouse sounds like it was wonderful! I'm so glad you have a supportive church family! They are the best
I’m very happy for your family. Thanks for sharing your story.
Win! Win!
In reality, no one likes change except wet babies! May the Lord bless this change. 😊🙏🏻
And even sometimes they don't like to be changed haha
😂😂
Congratulations to you n Luke. As they say, “ nothing is forever “. This is true to where you live.
I’m really excited for you n looking so forward to seeing this house you bought n seeing your new/old house being built. My hopes that there will be no hiccups in the process but it will more than likely happen. It’s truly wonderful that you can do this financially.
Looking so forward to another chapter your lives. God bless n God be with you all.
♥️♥️🥰👍
thank you!
As you said, you invite us into your story, and we are lucky. You dont owe any explanations to us - do whatever is best for your family! That's what is most important and I'm glad you recognize that. I'm sorry if any followers don't.
I appreciate your kind words, thank you!
Thank you for the kind words and prayers!
Attachment breeds unhappiness. Flexibility without expectations is a good thing. Best wishes for a smooth transformation.
God bless this next season for your family.
I will be sharing the process!
This is SO exciting. My hope is that we have more people who can build new homes the old way, pre 1940s. Jill Winger had this gentleman named Brent on it who does just that. Well crafted, full of character homes!
Brent hull! His videos are so good!
@ YES!!!!
Which state are you in?
I really appreciate that! Thank you.
