This story despite the murder is incredibly wholesome. He is probably the only person aside from Vader's actual son that managed to get through to his more human side, to the point Vader put his faith in the Clone and possibly considered him a friend. Even when he felt betrayed he allowed the Clone to leave the Empire's service and start a life of his own, possibly out of respect for him.
    Very wholesome.

I think there is like 19 years between the episode 3 and 4 and the only two people too take real revenge on was himself and the emperor on which he couldn’t do and the time he realized and wanted to he knew he couldn’t win and I think that alllowed that furnace in him to keep burning. But deep down Anakin was a good person and you see that from when he’s a little kid, the prequels are suppose to show how it was a lot of the Jedi’s fault(including Obi-wan) that Anakin Turned to the dark side and why the emporerrer’s planned worked by abandoning love and family and relationships thinking that they could eliminate the sith and the dark side but made themselves weaker and blind to that weakness as a result.

Does anybody else think that Vader might have been lonely? This took place shortly after Episode III : Revenge of The Sith, where Anakin had originally had Obi-Wan and Padmé, maybe he just missed having somebody with equal beliefs. Vader sparing Hock would have made sense as Vader would have seen himself defying Obi-Wan in that moment on Mustafar.

I like stories like these that reminds us what an awful person Vader truly is. I feel that a lot of SW media romanticizes him as a warrior with dignity and nobility, but the truth is that this is a person who immediately after accepting the dark side went on to murder children without remorse. Yes, we know that Vader had the potential for good inside him all along, but I'm sure that was true for Hitler as well. A monster is a monster even if he has other sides to him as well.

This is how I imagined the scene after you said Vader contemplating who to kill next and he turns around to face Hawk. Timestamp: 12:23
Vader stands in silence for what seems like minutes before sheathing his lightsaber. A sigh of relief is let out not only from the remaining wounded soldiers but from Hawk as well. Vader swiftly turns around to face him. As Vader approaches, Hawk still has his hand reached out as if he is to guide Vader away from the darkness and rage that has completely taken over him. To his surprise it wasn’t his hand that connected with his hand. No. Vader places his lightsaber into it.
The weapon of choice. The murder weapon of dozens of innocent women and children just moments before. Still hot to the touch. No sooner than Hawk realized his own emotions the saber raises a foot in the air from his hands… as well as the remaining wounded soldiers.
He stares up and meets Vader’s gaze as if he can feel his eyes piercing through his helmet, those dark crimson eyes starring into his, seemingly looking back and forth between his left and right eye. Vader baritone voice vibrates through Hawks entire body.
“Do you feel the Power of the Darkside? Do you feel anger? Has the valor of these pitiful souls…” Vader takes a single step closer as if intrigued yet disgusted by what he sees before him “…inspired you?”
With every ounce left in him he is able to mutter “No, sir.”
“Good.” And Vader snaps the neck of every remaining life in the room by using the force. Not moving a single muscle. Just as quickly as their lifeless bodies hit the floor Vader reclaims his saber from Hawk’s trembling hand. Without a second breath he walks past him and exits the room as if he is nothing more than paint on the wall.
    Dull. Broken. And Cold.

Anakin as Vader, did some terrible things, but he was still Anakin deep down. He seemed to have his own goals from the start and being a student of sidious with the sith in power, he pretty much had no choice but to be ruthless or sidious would have scolded him for it. Either way he seemed to respect hawk and allowed him to live his life in peace since hawk didn't try going to the rebellion like all his other past friends.

*Under-regulated capitalism? You mean heaven? Yeah, that's definitely not the USA.*
The United States has regulations on top of regulations on top of regulations, it would actually take more than a lifetime for a single person to try and read all of them. Tax laws and regulations alone are over 10 million words long and it's only getting longer. USA is a prime example of over-regulation and how politicians monopolize the market in their self-interest for monetary gain with little to no repercussions as they are the law and don't have to compete. Governments pick winners and losers and regulate in the interest of those who can give them the most money while pretending that regulations are there to protect competition, the consumer and public safety, but those virtue-signaling claims couldn't be farther from the truth.
The way ISPs are in the US is the fault of the US Federal Government and the Federal Government alone, you should look into the history of ISPs in the US and see how disgusting it is and how the US government has brought the US to the place it is now in terms of ISPs and internet access.
Guns are super-regulated and getting more and more restricted and banned by day in the US, so it's not some pro-gun heaven either, while most of the illegal gun activity happens in gun-free zones and in some cities and states law-abiding citizens cannot even get a gun, while criminals and police (often also criminals) are the only ones who have them.
The US is, unfortunately, a very ironic country - a country seemingly obsessed with liberty, yet trending towards just the opposite consistently. You know what, just take a look at California - how a once proud State that was the dream for small people and big businesses alike has fallen from grace. People and businesses are massively moving out of California at an increasing pace. Why? Well, no need to ask "why", just guess *who.*
Thank you for coming to my TED talk, that's it for this short lesson on economics and monetary history of the US, if you'd like to hear more check out Foundation for Economic Education as well as Reason Foundation. Learn Liberty and Mises Institute are great, too.

Darth Vader has "friends". Yes, he will always prioritize his success and mission over any friends but he still has them. He likes people with the same goals as he does and the same commitments. We see this with how he interacts with Tarkin.
I'm sure we won't see him hit the clubs after work with his boys but I'm sure he there are people who he has positive relationships with in the military and political contacts. And yes, I'm sure he would kill even these people if they were standing in the way of his mission or personal gain, but he won't go out of his way to kill someone who works well with him and gets the job done. He'd probably even save them because he values them more alive than dead and likely even respects an elite few of his "friends."
