I have the exact same problem with a DSi XL. I bought it with that problem and when I opened it up I saw the wather mark was pink, it also was a bit dirty and a rusty. I cleaned it and then I tried to fix it with a working top screen but nothing. I figured out it's a problem with the mainboard since I tried putting the mainboard in another DSi XL and the problem persisted. Perhaps one of the micro components is damege and hinders continuity to camera or top screen slot socket. Camera and top screen slot sockets seemed to be good to the naked eye. I've no idea what to do, I guess we can just buy a working mainboard from AliExpress but but It doesn't make a lot of sense since it's kinda expensive and risky.
Hey I have a Nintendo DSI XL that has a problem with down on the d-pad I’ve replaced the d-pad/power button circuit board and it still not functioning would you know how to fix it?
i also have a same one but when try to charge it it doesnt show the light and does not even turn on but before the seller sold it it was working fine, any idea what the problem would be?
@@TheKonsolist thanks I’ll try it , I’m from a place where there is no Nintendo officially so which battery can I use? It’s a lithium ion battery so would a battery from a keypad or a feature phone work?
It's not always the screens, I have the same problem on a DSI but I tried with another board, and I was able to rule out that it was the screens, it's some error on the board I think it could be a fuse
Any ideas on one that won't power up and no blue light? I'm trying to find a way to get the data off of it for ma daughter. The only light that comes on is the charging one.
Hi, I’m having a issue with my DS I XL I’m not really tech savvy at all but I’m trying to get the photos and the you know the parrot voice thing whatever you wanna call it off of their onto a Sim card but yet it’s not turning on the blue and orange lights are working, but the yellow does not work and I was just wondering if you could figure out how to get the photos and stuff off of it
This probably means that the WiFi board is gone. You would need to replace it. There is no soldering involved. Just open up the back, clip of the board and the antenna cable and replace it with another one. That's the only thing I can think of. Hope that helps.
Hello ! Nice video, I’ve just bought a DSi XL that turns on (blue light and wifi light) but the screens are black and there is no sound. I changed the battery but it still have the same issue. The console came without any SD card and I do not know if the previous owner tried to jailbreak the console… I need your help, please !
@@TheKonsolist thank you for your fast response, I turned the console on without a SD card and both screens are still black. I’ve read on a website that it could either be the Wifi chip that needs to be re-plugged or the D Pad that needs to be replaced. I don’t know tho. I’ll try to dismantle everything and see what’s wrong
Hello, nice video! I have a Nintendo DSi that charges (orange led) but it doesn't turn on. Do you have any idea where this might come from? I have so many memories in this DSi 😅 Thank you!
Hi Paul, thank you very much. Does the DSi turn on and the off immediatly? Then the top screen is probably the cause. Or is it completly dead? have you tried to change the battery?
@@TheKonsolist Thank you for your answer! It's completely dead, i tried opening it and checking the ports but everything was looking good. I didn't try to change the battery, i heard that if it was a battery problem, the orange light would blink, which is not my cas, i think..
oMG Hi there fellow repair guy here in France n_n What a horror! I have the same exact problem! Since we can't find any replacement screens anymore from China, I had bought 2 used DSI XLs and they were both working lol I put it back together with the new upper screen and touch screen and same problem, blue light goes on and then off and my lower screen screen flashes once. I guess I must of damaged the flex cable while taking it apart even though there is no visible damage. This is very frustrating because all of my DSI XLs were working properly. I was just doing a shell swap. So what happened with your XL? I would love to know. I really wasted several hours for nothing and now I just want to call it quits lol Most frustrating console to work on ever.

im having the same issue on a japanese model in the same color, is replacing the top screen the only fix for the short blue flash?
Yes it is.

Hi. Have you checked the ribbon cable, that connects the board to the mainboard? Maybe the pins are dirty or corroded.

You should be able to buy a 3rd party one from Amazon or Ebay

Same thing exactly happened to me and sold my dsi XL and the New lcd is still listing on ebay. I've never soldered anything before trying

Hello, I have a nintendo dsi that has a flashing light when charging, and it can't be turned on either. Can you help me fix it?
Hi, have you tried a new battery?
@@TheKonsolisti tried but it's still the same
Is the battery seated properly? Are the contacts clean?
@@TheKonsolist I have a 99% new battery and the battery was included with the device when I bought it
Open the battery compartment, clean the contacts and reseat the battery. The blinking orange light indicates a bad battery connection most of the time
This is my problem but instead of the bottom screen blinking it's the top screen because the bottom screen doesn't work
I think, that both screens are connected. If one is dead, the other one won't work either.

The blue light for me did what this dsi did but not the screen, non of the screens blinked
did you fix it?

You're welcome. If you open it up, there should be a fuse right behind the charging port. Maybe it is blown.
@@TheKonsolist Also is there any way to check the fuses without any equipment?
Sadly, no. You need a multimeter to check continuity. But a cheap one is totally fine for this.

do you know how to fix the 0000FE00 error???
I heard about that error. I think there is a solution on ifixit.com.
Some solve it by overheating the chips

I never stumbled over this problem 🤔
Can you help me fix my DSi pls

Man, why not trying to test before reassemble? Omg
