For those Who wonder of it work on a Ps5 PCB. Yes, i change even the Ps2 joystick with this tool. I bought mine 2 days ago and its wonderful, i took off the Joysticks like a pro in around 5 minutes. I save a lot of money i recomend it. It cost me $20 bucks. 😊

I just wanted to say thank you for this video. I have a brass zippo that I’ve owned for decades now that I got when I was in the army many many years ago lol and the lid came off on mine like it did yours. I sent it back to zippo they repaired it and a month later it came back off so now I used your fix and it worked and it’s holding so thank you because like you said sentimental value was far more valuable than just replacing it.

use silicon grease on the metal rods rails and the servo screw! silicon based grease is white and has a different smell, and is specially designed for small mechanical assemblies in electronic devices. Lubricates rubber and protects surfaces from high and low temperatures, reduces friction in moving mechanisms has a higher melting point and a more efficient rate of resiliency, lasts more, it's 99.9% non conductive, collects less dust, and it will outlast any petroleum jelly 5 to 1. I have non heavy duty VCR's from 1995 that have their silicon grease as white as if it was applied the same day. it's performance certainly is miles ahead the good al Petrol jelly... which I'm by no means judging, it's a handy substitute. But if you charge to fix these kind of equipment using petroleum Jelly is inexcusable, with all the respect IMO. Great video anyway Mr consolist! Hope your channel keeps growing, I subscribed btw!

Still have my first gen PS3 60gb Europe /PAL version. The one with ps2 hardware, it's Mint and not much used, even back in the day's when it was new. Are these still more valuable than the later models?

thanks, I just can't get the rubber controller pads back on as I don't have access on the other side of the board to pull through the rubber pins. My PowerA controller is slightly different inside. Anyone know how to push them through effectively if you can't pull them though do to limited access?

Fanatic mod. You can mod full chip set clones as well . Thankfully 6 switch, and Jr. models already have CD4050 on the board . I am curious why they removed it from a 4 switch revisions.

I have the exact same problem with a DSi XL. I bought it with that problem and when I opened it up I saw the wather mark was pink, it also was a bit dirty and a rusty. I cleaned it and then I tried to fix it with a working top screen but nothing. I figured out it's a problem with the mainboard since I tried putting the mainboard in another DSi XL and the problem persisted. Perhaps one of the micro components is damege and hinders continuity to camera or top screen slot socket. Camera and top screen slot sockets seemed to be good to the naked eye. I've no idea what to do, I guess we can just buy a working mainboard from AliExpress but but It doesn't make a lot of sense since it's kinda expensive and risky.

This might work for a dualsense? I changed my joysticks a while ago but it was difficult to the point i need to break the joysticks in order to desolder it. This look promising if i need to change or upgrade for a hall effect

My console was working well I don't know what happen, I was traveling and when I came back tried to play and there was this black screen. I replaced first Bluetooth module, nothing happened. Then wifi module... Same nothing, then both at the same time... Nothing hahahah I don't really know what could be damaged the board looks pretty clean, no rusty parts. Even I cleaned with isopropilic alcohol but yeah nothing changed. Do you hate too the crazy amount of screws that Nintendo wii has? This tutorial was what I needed. I've seen lots of videos showing how to tear down the whole assembly, but I only wanted to see how to access the disc drive for cleaning with minimal amount of effort.

It turned off immediately, my first thought was it was shorted somewhere and a safety kicked in but then it accepted a disc. What a strange thing not to at least display an error code on the screen as there doesn't seem to be a reason not too. No idea how long it would have taken me to figure that one out... Way longer than you, that's for sure.

I have a crt Loewe with that same remote. Tv shows red light on the bottom but the remote is beyond repairing. It only turns on with the remote right?

This is essentially the same problem I had. On mine, I suspect the previous owner dropped it or ran into the charge cable while it was plugged in and it yanked on the connector too hard. The charge connector casing is connected to some surface pads which also connect to the ground of the two charging pins. I was able to just solder bridge between the connector leg and the top leg of EM1. This is safer than what you did because it keeps the choke filter intact on the charging circuit, but yeah if it works it works.

I have a broken PSU, I checked the mentioned resistor and it's in open circuit measuring 3.6M ohms! I can't believe I missed that one! Thanks for the video anyway! Very instructive!!
