Oh that baby goat....she couldn't be any cuter! Wishing you a wonderful new year and all the best in 2024 ✨💖
Thanks friend! Glad to see you around. 😊Daisy is the real star of the show. Ha! Happy New Year to you too!
Gee! How do you cope with that cold weather? LOL I'm sure glad I don't have to work out in cold weather, lol. I have got to thank you guys for the invite to dinner. The Chicken and dumplings was excellent and the dumplings were just like my mom's "P E R F E C T"
Oh Mr. John, you are tougher than the two of us put together. 😊I’m so glad you enjoyed dinner. We enjoyed your company. Stay warm friend.
@FlatTireFarmHomesteadingAlaska - Oh my goodness Mr John... they MUST have been good dumplings!! Your compliment is THE SWEETEST compliment anybody can get!!
Miss Chrystal... your dumplings are apparently AWESOME!! (And Mr John DEFINITELY knows how to get invited back for dinner again!) 😉♥️
I love the cast iron sauce pans! The dogs are a hoot! When you said that about having a fur coat like the dogs I couldn’t help but laugh and think yeah but you would hate the summer and no more trips to the Bahamas with that kinda fur! lol love you guys
Right?! The summer is already to hot for me here! Ha!
I'm so glad ur back...missed ur laughter!!!
Thanks sweet friend!!
Burrrr even sweet Daisy had snotsicles! What a beautiful view. Hope you guys have a Happy New Year filled with Joy,peace and success! Love you guys! ❤
Happy Birthday 2024!!
Looks like Mr.Reeves got a new cool toy , love the drone shots. Little miss daisy just loves her daddy 😊 I hope you guys had a nice dinner with John, chicken and dumplings yummy 😋
We had a lovely time. 😊
@ Our Alaska they got heated coats...they're pretty cool!! Stay warm my friends!!
Love the video, thank you both for sharing a “ day in the life below zero”.That’s gotta be the first pig pile I ever have seen.Lol
You are very welcome friend. Glad you enjoyed it. 😊
So so cold!! I dont miss that at all! Stay warm you guys! Your woodstove area looks amazing! You are doing excellent work at your place. Those animals know how to do it right!! Daisy is still so adorable. Loves her daddy! Take good care! 😊
Thanks for kind words!
That's COLD ! Glad you have nice warm shelter for the goats and pigs. Stay warm and take care.
Happy new years friend. 😊
I'm watching your videos very late tonight or it's morning actually now. Hopefully this doesn't wake you. Looks like everyone is fitting in well. I could not imagine doing all you're doing with so much snow. Praying your hands and toes stay warm enough. My favorite thing about the snows that we have experienced is the peaceful quiet that it creates. Take care friends, love ya'll! ❤
That’s my favorite part too! The peace. 😊
TY for taking us along on your day! So nice you had a visit with John @John in Alaska Hope the cookies were good to! Happy New Year!
-Paula & Jason
Thanks Paula and Jason. Happy New Years. 😊
Trust me your dog loves it when it is cold they built for it
You are definitely right my friend. Maremmas are tough cookies. We are so pleased with this breed. Be blessed friend. 😊
You two brave the cold with a smile. The animals all seem cozy. Love seeing your woodstove. ❤️🙏🏻😩Val C
💕💕
I just LOVE those goats! 😊✌️🙏🐾🐾🇱🇷
💕
Oh my gosh, that’s so cold. I’m allergic to cold weather, lol. Stay warm my friends and have a blessed night!
It’s -25° right now. Ha!
@@FlatTireFarmHomesteadingAlaskadang
The two of your have to the best matched couple in Alaska.
Awww! Thanks!
What a great couple!
Thanks friend. 💕
So sweet Daisy❤
She’s such a good girl. 💕
I love the way really cold snow crunches. I see Reeve was wearing mickey mouse boots, did you see that Alaska Gear Co/Airframes Alaska is trialing some new white bunny boots they developed?
Ooooo! No! I did not know that! Reeve still has his original issued ones too! We likely have a lifetime supply of them already. Ha! My Baffin’s are rated for -40°, best boots ever!! They’re good to about -30° in real life. I really like the bunny boots too. But they are a bit clunky for everyday use. I wear them, for sure when it’s -30° and I’ll be outside for long periods of time. I’ll have to keep my ears open for what people say about those new boots. You know how product claims go.Ha!
All 3 of us are sick with the crud 😢 Got my smile for the day! Enjoy dinner with John!
Oh no! Get better sweet friend!
@@FlatTireFarmHomesteadingAlaska TY!
Barb and I couldn't believe that all those goats were in that hiding hole. It reminded be of those skits where they show an unbelievable people exiting a VW.🤣🤣If you couldn't the back wall of the the shelter you'd say there was a hole in the back.🤣🤣Those goats are so cool! My daughter and son-in -law had some, until my daughter came out of the house to go work and saw two tap dancing on the roof of her sports car. That was it for having coats. You guys take care. All the best in the new year!
Ha!! They are just so funny! We used to give them lots of dog houses, but they always all crammed in one or two and left the rest empty. Maybe it’s just the herd instinct. Be blessed friends.
Mr. Reeves put pipe insulation on your handle. Crystal, the fireplace area was very pretty.
The goats are like the clown car , they just keep coming
They are so funny! But it keeps them warm. 😊
Just hearing your footsteps tells me how cold it is. When snow is squeaky, it's cold! 🥶. Still waiting for winter to arrive here in Michigan. I could still have a "fall" garden at these temps. To keep hands warmer, I use medical exam gloves under my warmer gloves. Keeps my hands dry and another layer of insulation.
Hey friend, Reeve will layer with nitrile gloves if he’s going to be outside for a long snow machine trip sometimes. I don’t like the moisture that collects under them though. Definitely works though. 😊
Love the goaties......Im a goat mom too. Love your videos!❤
Yay for goat moms! Glad you are enjoying watching. 😊
Why does that one goat stink. I hope you all are staying warm. As always be safe and God bless you 💞
Hey Robin! Intact boy goats have a musky smell that the lady goats like. And boy goats also pee on their faces…fun fact of the day. Ha!
Love drone shots!
They came out really great, didn’t they. 😊💕
Oh my gosh I love you guys❤😂
Awww, thanks! 💕
😂 smooth like sandpaper. I about spit my drink out!!
Ha! When your drink comes out your nose….then you know it was funny. Ha!
@@FlatTireFarmHomesteadingAlaska Amen!! 😂
My little terrier goes nuts over my husband’s drone.
It’s so funny how she thinks she can fly…she’ll even jump off the snow piles to try and keep the arial predators away. Ha!
Omg!!! It’s sooooo cold right now!
Don’t worry friend, it’ll warm up soon…in May. Ha!
Good looking man😊
Now I live In the great state of Montana you might know it as big sky country but it is really gods country now -16 is good and cold but I have seen -60 so after -20 it is just cold so try to stay warm and Happy New years guys
Happy New Years to you too! It doesn’t usually get to -60 here. But it can at our families remote cabin. Here in the next month or so it drops to -30 or so and I’ll be that way for a few weeks. But that’s about as rough as it gets here.
"A successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him." -David Brinkley
Nice video ❤❤❤
Thanks friend!
I won't tell you we still don't have snow and it was only -1c (33f) opps I'm sorry I just did. I really can't believe our weather. We had a brown Christmas and it looks like no snow for a while. Glad you are all nice and toasty inside.
Oh man! I can’t ever remember a brown Christmas! Every year as a kid though, we wondered if we had to wear a snowsuit with our halloween costumes. Ha! Some years the snow stuck by then and sometimes we got lucky. However, I always hunted easter eggs in the snow. Always! Ha!
This is only the second in life and I'm 53. Our county just posted a fire ban today because there is no snow. They have halted all fireworks, which I'm fine with because it terrifies our poor poochie. Happy New Year!@@FlatTireFarmHomesteadingAlaska
@@marlenereimchen9141 That’s crazy! Happy New Years 💕
Could control the temperature you want to on the heated socks with an app on your smart phone you could control how cold you want it
It's glacier hay! 😂
Ha!
HAPPY NEW YEAR GOD BLESS
Happy New year!
Hello I am new on your channel I did subscribe to your channel and a big thumbs up here from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦❤️❤️❤️❤️🇨🇦🇨🇦😎
Well hello neighbor! Glad to have you along. Be blessed and Happy New Year. 😊
Yes happy new years to both of you ❤️❤️❤️
Happy new year
Happy New Year to you too friend!
“There’s my bacon baby” ?????? You’re going to scare the crap out of him with that comment.
Nah, its ok. Sometimes he sees me as food too. Ha!
@davidlacroix6769... I thought the same thing! I mean... if a person has watched this channel for any length of time... it seems like their animals ALL speak English! Especially @treat time! 😉🤣
16 below zero?! Nope nope nope. I think it's fascinating that folks actually enjoy living in the cold like that. In other words, y'all are crazy.
Ha! Yep. No snakes or killer bugs. Ha!
Would love to see the northern lights’
Someday we’ll get good video of that for sure. right now we’re just videoing with our phones, and for some reason, mine hates taking footage of anything in the dark. It just comes out like a blurry mess. Someday friend, I promise!
-16... mmmmm... yeah. I need whatever the piggos have! We'd have temps like that in MN, but in small doses & thankfully, the really cold temps were caused a lot by wind. So it was more the "real feel" that got ya. It seemed pretty still for you guys in this video anyway. No small favor from mother nature when you have lots to do outside, right? 😁
On a different note... great minds think alike... when I was watching the goats come out from their "clown car", I said exactly the same thing you did! 🤣🤣🤣 That was hysterical & they looked like it was perfectly normal for 47 goats to calmly come out of a medium sized "dog house".
Everybody just takes it all in stride! ❤ Stay warm you guys! God bless 🙏🙏
Best part of my day! Goat circus time. 😊
@FlatTireFarmHomesteadingAlaska I can only Imagine... & be at least a little jealous!
We live in Palmer, (((same temp as you! Feeding critters was NOT fun!🤦♀️))) but my husband works in south Anchorage & it's currently -23°F on the flightline. 😳
Hey neighbor! Todays record so far, -25° Ha! Stay warm friends!
❤
Loving your channel. We are currently looking into buying a drone. Which one are you using?
Hey friend. It’s a Mavic pro. 😊
Why don’t you get the heated bowl to keep the water always warm and it won’t freeze up
We live offgrid.
New friend here
Whoop! Whoop! Glad to have you with us!
Thanks. say your shout out from Monica Lynn @AlaskaMyHeart -@@FlatTireFarmHomesteadingAlaska
@@rushingwindmountain love that Monica!
Porchiny is cute, like bacon. As for the other pigs, they look like butts. Aka BBQ. But they're all delicious. Just joking, or am I? Lol. Bacon. My favorite meat. Snow cream sounds good right about now. How many inches of snow have you gotten so far this winter? Stay safe and warm my friends ☺️
Hey friend! It’s over 4 feet, maybe 5.
@@FlatTireFarmHomesteadingAlaska Now I'm jealous for sure. I would love to be there right now, making snow angels and snow cream. ❄️☃️
I would WALK Outside every so often with a tee shirt like MR. Sommers in ALASKA to make brown fat. Is this possible? Just found your channel.
Hello again friend! Not sure about the science behind that. Regardless, we are acclimated to this climate, so we can walk around without a jacket to about 20°F and feel perfectly comfortable any colder than that, and our fat would turn blue with a T-shirt on. Ha!
Can you video the northern lights?
Hey friend! My camera isn’t cool enough. It just comes out all blurry. Someday we’ll be able to do it, just not today. 😊
Why don’t you go to Costco and get the heated socks and the heated gloves and then you’ll be warm all day and they’re on sale now it’s after Christmas
Good idea, but not really practical here.
Why is not practical in Alaska? I think it’s ideal for Alaska. I’ll keep your toes in your hands and I said warm and their waterproof the gloves.
Hi Simone! Thanks for thinking about us! In our experience as lifelong Alaskans, we have learned that the heated socks and gloves aren’t the magic that you might think they are. For several reasons. While I have tried them, I have never had one that will last even a single winter with how much we are out in the cold, some don’t get warm enough, some have bigger batteries that get in the way, etc, etc. Growing up in Alaska, you just learn to layer up and change gloves and hats out when they get wet or cold. It really is the best solution for our climate. Thanks for watching!
But why the heated socks would be awesome in Alaska. It would be your favorite pair of socks. It’s mine it’s my favorite pair of socks. I love my socks that are heated.
You guys should have all your animals sign 'Inclement Weather Consent Forms', which absolve you (The Farm) of all animal husbandry duties once the weather reaches certain preset temperature and precipitation thresholds, set entirely by yourselves. Each day that the weather doesn't reach desirable conditions, you can have an automatic email blast sent out to the livestock indicating that the Caretaker's Cabin will be closed until conditions improve, and the animals should take measures to ensure their own livelihood, which may include 'hunker down', or 'shelter in place' directives, until further notice. Be sure to include proper wording that eliminates the ability of the animals to resist, or respond with any collective action against you, which may include threats of physical harm or malice that may be directed towards yourselves. Remove access to any and all implements they may use in such a physical rebellion, and issue strong consequences for any animal that is found in possession of, or believed to be in possession of such instruments. Any animals engaged in, or believed to be engaged in any activity that may be considered as 'inciting violence', or that may be deemed by you as having 'intent to incite violence' or any rebellious acts that may be deemed by you to be an attempt to undermine your authority shall carry harsh and immediate consequences. Do, of course, include the conditions that all livestock shall not be absolved of their daily duties of production which is expected of them for the betterment of the Farm, despite any weather related shutdowns or delays. Any dissenters of these policies shall be immediately culled from the ranks, or sold, live or processed, and used as examples to the other livestock, at the sole discretion of the Farm, and without any prior notice thereof. In the event that a culling has taken place, it is the duty of all remaining livestock to increase personal productivity to a point which the net output of the Farm is not affected by the removal of one or more of its producing members. Be sure to make it well known that any animal that produces more than his or her fair share shall be treated equally as compared to the animals that produce less, or none at all. Whereby no additional compensation shall be awarded for higher productivity in the form of additional feed or water rations, better quality rations, larger or improved access to suitable housing conditions, or any additional access to pasture or free-roam privileges. Be sure to be clear that all of this is to protect the interest of the Farm as a collective, and that the needs of the collective outweigh the needs of the individual; for the benefit of all involved, of course. Don't forget to have each contract signed and witnessed as deemed acceptable by you. This shall ensure that the Farm is well protected and productivity is maximized for your benefit. You may find that implementing these changes slowly and incrementally will be the best course of action, as the animals will be less likely to notice the reduction of their privileges and personal benefits, of course. Just a thought. -Dusty
Ha! Now if i could just teach them to sign.
