Councils allow large building firms to build massive housing estates on land they’ve dedicated ‘green belt’ until then, but not allow a single dwelling on a person’s own land? Sickening and spiteful!!

They are corrupted by ignorance and indoctrination. Generally these governing overlord type people in these positions of power, tend to be what we call in America ‘the bleeding heart liberals who cry for tolerance’ but, they are anything but tolerant. The only people who I know that preach real tolerance are the anarcho capitalists and libertarians (in terms of a defined group who generally agree on ideas about freedom and the solution to the worlds problems). And like a lot of founders of great movements of true righteousness… the nature of man, is such that too many of them fall into both intellectual and physical laziness, lack a sense of responsibility and morals… among other things. In the end, instilling a sense of responsibility and a disciplined upbringing and education about how one can live with Mother Nature without poisoning it vs total dependence on a power and water grid and some mislead people who have the power to destroy everything good in the world, is the only solution. But, that’s not going to happen. We probably had one months worth of time in the USA where we had reached a pinnacle or were close to an equilibrium line of a balance between most of the citizens acting responsibly and having the powers that shouldn’t be, more in line with these ideas. We are always on one side of the pendulum. This doesn’t mean there weren’t injustices going on… but, I like to think that was probably during the month of May, probably around 1974. In the end, we are stuck with these legacy power structures and millions of indoctrinated and mislead people or literally damaged people, mostly due to the powers that shouldn’t be (ie., pharma crap and all that that implies in todays world)… with that said, there is a town in Mexico, that sometime in the last twenty years, they literally ended local government by unanimously refusing to vote so they had no one to hold the offices that had been established decades before they were all born, and it appears they went on to live happily every after, living in anarcho capitalist peace with a federal govt that generally doesn’t interfere in most of the peoples lives. I think it was a pretty small town. Can’t recall the name of it. I imagine they are still doing well, but maybe it wasn’t all peaches and cream. It’s one of those stories that the internet masters suppresses I’m sure. Then I heard a little somethin about an area in Africa where all the women refused to have sex to get the men to stop warring. I don’t know how that played out. Probably why homosexuality is encouraged in todays world.

Does. A guy in Birmingham, a veteran, was told he was required to buy public utilities including public water, which didn’t connect to his property at all and they took his kids away because his off grid water was “endangering the children by not having water”. They had water they just didn’t pay up extra taxes on the water. I. Fact the water they had was less toxic than city water anywhere in Alabama. I don’t know what happened in the end with them if they gave in and paid the $5000 a foot for the electric connections and monthly minimum monitoring fees and shity water connection but I would’ve either allowed the connection but refused to pay the bill until they disconnected so as not using it or moved. They wanted him to move but Birmingham is a dump. There is nothing nice about it and they are just another Liberal shity. Democrats are the only voters and the only “representatives” in shity government in Birmingham, so you really would prefer to get gas before or after Birmingham not in it. Absolute dump!

In the US the government has regulated and restricted housing to the point where a large and growing part of the population can not afford the least expensive "approved" apartment. You need a $30 per hr wage to afford any kind of "approved" housing. The streets of every city and locality are filling up with homeless while rich people own two or three homes.
Many many thousands of people who are too poor to afford any kind of government regulated housing die every year from freezing. The government claims housing regulations are about ensuring safety but its really about punishing the poor and driving them out of every community. If it were about safety, then why are 20 times more people dying because of the regulations than are being saved by them?
Housing regulation is a back door program of gentrification. Gentrification is mass murder in the US.

It's amazing to be able to live in unison with nature. I also live in a small property close to the city and I'm trying to become as self-sufficient as possible, but I still have electricity and water from the system. I just acquired a piece of land one year ago and have been planting bay leaf and loquat trees that grow here spontaneously so that I have an abundance for firewood. I have brought in all kinds of edible/medicinal weeds such as plantain, dandelion and many others that I find wherever I go. I like to say that I'm creating a medicinal/edible weed sanctuary!
I'd love to have my own well like I've seen in some TH-cam videos...
My property is composed of red clay and I plan to create a clay man for the property 😂. I'd like to find a group of people interested in clay to come and make their own little creations with me.

We have been gaslighted all our lives that 'Authority' rules over us, not the other way round. If the world was full of fellas like this then we’d be half way there to living in an Ideal world. Fair play to him. Proper character. With proper stories.
