Hi Jack - great vids 👍👍👍 could you do 1 on what kit you use and how you set your gun up. Watching your videos has inspired me to have a go but as a complete novice I wouldn't know where to start with regards guns
Perhaps you could do a series of videos which start off with you introducing me to your local dive shop followed by me acquiring all the kit needed and then finally entering the water and spearing my first fish, guided by you.
@@Kylosadventures I’ll do a video on it! There’s too much content from people who are selling gear, really don’t need much and the cheaper end kit is absolutely fine
Jack, you probably won't believe this but I was filming a movie on that exact beach two nights ago! I work in the TV and film industry and we filmed Daniel Day Lewis and Sean Bean by a campfire, right by the rocky formation you show behind you ! The weather has turned up here now so likely I'll visit next season, but it's a beautiful bay .
@@dcro9903 Sadly not, the UK had large numbers of Halibut in the past however overfishing destroyed them On occasion they are caught off Northern Scotland though
Great video Jack, excatly the type of beaches I like, a long walk and no one else about or not many and left feeling the effort put in reflects the reward, be it the environment or the bounty.👌
I've been doing more kelp and thong weed stalking in last couple weeks but still struggling to spot the bass before they scarper 😂 Another really interesting video, keep em coming Jack
@@carlhescornish if you wear a super thick wetsuit (so your legs don’t sink) can literally just use the spare hand to paddle and it’s so stealthy I NEVER fin whilst stalking, use only the left hand to propel myself, and the bass are so calm when there’s zero splashing
@@jackmetcalfe8542 yup I've been doing exactly that. Was out for couple hrs the other evening and probably covered 100m maximum 😁 I just struggle to spot them, must drift over quite a few and never know they are there. I'm starting to get better at it and your tips are definitely helping..
I’ve just found your channel shared with me by a friend. I am based in Abersoch most weekends and spot the odd speargun fisherman from time to time which has stimulated me to further investigate further. I would welcome a video from you on the kit you use and the approximate costs you might apportion to the same. I’d also welcome any suggestion from you or any readers of a friendly and reputable retailer that might guide me in the correct equipment to suit my needs. I look forward to further videos.
@@iloveabersoch good idea, I’ll look at doing a video aimed at explaining exactly what someone needs to do and buy to start Spearfishing You’re in a great area, some brilliant shore marks off Abersoch for Bass
Nice video, Jack - watch out because 13kg of weights seem excessive, even with an 8mm top which I also use at the beginning of the season. Try to diminish the weight: you’ll benefit from it during the long walks and you can always put a rock between your dive belt and jacket, if needed, to adjust buoyancy on the go.
@@ghostspearfishing4073 Thank you but I’m very happy with my weighting, this is adjusted to suit depth and in deeper sessions use far less I’m 185cm tall and my lung volume is 22% higher than an average man of that height (as measured on clinical trials) meaning my lungs hold well over 40% more air than an average height man This likely means I need more lead than someone who looks very similar
@@ArijusZabieliauskas around 8 meters. Anglesey Spearfishing is very shallow, there’s rarely any kelp deeper than that and the fish really prefer the kelp areas

That was an absolute massive lobster caught by Bobby love the contents

I enjoyed your video greatly. You have an abundance of sea life. Are there halibuts where you fish, and do you have any halibut spearfishing videos?
