As a US viewer who has never lived near the ocean I appreciate the education of the marine life and coastal environment. I am very sorry that people do not respect privacy and safety of your family. Thank you for making the videos. Please stay safe.
Thank you. 🦞
Please do not stop making your videos.
You are not responsible for those who are irresponsible.
It is always lovely to watch your videos
Thank you.
Yes it certainly is.
I'm so sorry you had to make this video. As a former creelman I have tremendous respect for your care for the environment that you put across so well in your videos. I also respect your stance that your family comes first. I cannot image anyone being so sick as to intrude upon you and your family but we live in strange times. Regards from Scotland.
If they had tried similar when I was on my own they would have recieved a different response.
@@TheFishLocker Quite right....and I'd start a crowd fund for your defence. Some folk have no idea how to behave in decent society. Funnily enough the most wholesome, caring bunch of guys I've ever met were the fishing community. When I worked the scallop dredges and the creels the sense of brotherhood was almost indescribable. Everyone had your back and ignorant folk trying to use you for their own ends would have taken a long walk off a short pier.
Sad that folks aren't being responsible or respectful. I wish you and your family well and that you can continue making these videos.
Thank you Stacey.
It's sad people do that
One of my favorite channels Cheers from Massachusetts 🍻
I also wish you and your family the best, good fortune, as well as your hunts to always be bountiful.
Love the father, son forage videos. Can’t believe that some people invade the privacy of your precious time with James.
You wouldn’t believe what happens mate.
@@TheFishLocker I’ve had students trying to find my home address, Even had one knock on my door. I sent my wife to answer and tell her I didn’t live there.
@@marksutton116 John - I know you are into keeping the marine and shore environment as clean as you can, is it possible for you to use some of the washed up "beach hut" debris in your beach cooking fires, or is it just too wet?
@@mstrdiver - Also unsure what chemicals it’s been treated with.
@@marksutton116oh no :-( hope the people listen and stay away your videos are amazing :-)
I love that as James has gotten older, he's become less fussy with his food. My kids used to love our outdoor activities and fishing. Hopefully, that interest will follow through in my grandchildren.
He’s growing into a proper little man now.
beside being a good fisherman (seaman) your're
more importantly a great dad!
You encourage people to be more responsible by teaching them how to forage in a safe, responsible manner. Don't let the few that are irresponsible ruin it for you. I love learning from you, even if I'm in landlocked Iowa.
Hopefully this warning will be enough.
Sadly I have doubts it will be enough some idiots don't learn even when they are burned by their own stupidity
Well said John and James, everyone has the right to privacy and to be able to roam in peace enjoying nature. Thank you for showing us the wonderful insights of rock pools and the shoreline, James is getting the best education available and thank you for cleaning up.
Some things you cannot learn in school. James learns those outdoors. 😊🦞
I absolutely love watching you and James forage! James has learned so much and does a great job being respectful to the environment.
Thank for addressing that! And continue to do so as it is needed regularly!
you are so good at doing it so respectfully!
We just do as we feel is right.
John , you are giving James the best possible upbringing.
This close, intimate contact with Nature is so important now.
Most youngsters watch TV only , and while Attenborough's programs are wonderfully researched and filmed - they are like Disneyland in comparison with what James is getting.
Keep doing the real stuff.
Teaching our children about that natural world around them has been one of my life’s greatest joys.
Don’t get me wrong I would love to go on the shore doing this with a legend such as yourself. At the same time people have to respect your personal space and realize that you do this as a family thing most of the time and you do it as an educational thing also. While also respecting and taking only the bare minimum to help preserve our beautiful wildlife. Keep it up brother I’ve learned so much from your videos. Big respect sir!!
Thank you for understanding. We do not mind meeting people at all, but there is a line that was crossed. It also shows a devious and entitled character that wants to stalk someone rather than put the work in themselves.
@@TheFishLocker yes sir I agree I do things like that with my kids and I completely understand people need to respect boundaries. Just keep doing you buddy you’re killing it love the content!
I love your videos with your ‘best bud James’. So sweet and crucial for the changing of the guard… keep up your beautiful work.
Son and heir.
I hope the day you stop producing these wonderful videos is for a positive reason and not a negative one JL. The many hours you spend creating these weekly videos is priceless in terms of the education it brings us. 👍
That is the sole reason that we have continued as long as we have.
My daughter and i have just started watching these videos and we are loving them, please don't stop as we are going to try and do some of the things you are doing, I was brought up in that part of Cornwall and know it very well, please don't get mad if I happen to bump into you down there in August! First things first is to teach her snorkeling, cannot wait!
We wish you the best of luck on the shoreline and I hope the snorkeling goes well. 😊🦞
Haha.. It wasn't too long ago you were trying to get James to eat seafood, now he is claiming the biggest claw 😂.
Thanks for the upload John
He’s a growing lad 💪🏻🦞
i have anxiety and watching your videos always calms me down. i hope you dont get discouraged by those people, they obviously dont really watch these videos if theyre disrespecting you and the environment. always love seeing james on the channel, hes so independent and intelligent! love from sweden!
James is such a little superstar isn’t he. Have a wonderful day. 😊🦞
As soon as James sees the smal claw he says….that one is yours dad….😂😂
Haha. Without hesitation 🤣
People are generally well meaning, but it only takes one to ruin it for the rest. Love the vids. Believe it or not, you've helped me to become a better father in some small ways. Thank you!
I have always said that if the videos have helped folks then I consider them worth making. So for that, I am truly glad mate. Well done. 👍🏻🦞
You remind me of my fond moments I had with my dad who I sadly lost...
Wow, James is fairly growing up. He’s a real lovely wee lad. You are doing a great job with mum of bringing him up. He’s so knowledgeable. Loved this especially when he said he’d share the big claw💕Look forward to your next video and learn some more😊👍
Have a wonderful day and stay safe.
The old "Jeremy " lobster again 🤣. Just wanted to share my appreciation, I never watch tv, I fish any spare minute I get, but I love all these videos.
Thank you for the little trip with you both. It's always exciting, relaxing and informative. 👍👍
I am glad you enjoyed joining us. 🦞🦞
I just found your channel and have to say, they make me smile. Needless to say, I’ve subscribed. So wholesome and such a beautiful area. Your son will fondly remember these times forever. Thanks for sharing.
Welcome to our channel Laura. 😊🦞
@@TheFishLocker thank you!
I think the day when James does the commentaries is close! And your knowledge of all the sealife and plants etc is formidable!
James is such a sharp and witty character.
Please don't stop making your videos. I live in the United States and love watching them.
Thank you Sherry.
James is growing up fast, he's a real credit to you both. Don't let the selfish people get you down mate
They won’t stop us doing what we’re doing. We’ll just stop filming it.
My grandfather taught me to fish, rockpool and build fires
I love that parents etc are still teaching these things to their kids
The best education a kid can get. 👍🏻🦞
Perfect timing, Wasing up done, kids fed and made a coffee then this pops up
Perfect.
thte catch and cook bit at the end of the video was very good too. very wholesome. especially with the marshmallows.
Marshmallow dessert it always good.
the water is clear with lush vegetation very nice. can't wait for the snorkeling videos.
Hopefully soon.
Young James is living his best life and he doesn't even know it.
💙
I'd be so sad if you stopped making these videos. I dont eat fish or shellfish or take part in fishing, but i love watching and learning from your foraging videos ❤
Hopefully this warning should be enough to stop it happening again.
Great to watch as always Mate.
Do not be dishearten mate.
You have many of us here to give you support at a moments notice.
Cheers.
Rob.
Damn. So many uploads I haven't seen.
Foraging, diving into the sea. The more enjoyable seasons are coming👍
It's been a long time since I last dropped by for a comment, but I wanted to let you know that finding your channel was one of the happier moments of my heavy pandemic era. Calming voice, educational video, refreshing outdoors, happy family dynamics - what more could anyone ask for? Made me so glad to see you still doing these videos and promoting sustainable foraging, but I think the best part was just seeing young James all grown up to be a strong reliable little man like his dad and mum; how fast time flies! 😊 I hope your light won't be dimmed by the darkness of others; as long as you know you're not hurting anybody, keep doing what you do because it makes you happy as much as it makes us viewers happy. Thank you, and I wish you all the best! 🤗
Thank you Lance. It’s been a heavy day and that comment made me smile. We shall not stop doing these things but if people continue to overstep the line then we shall have to stop making videos about it. Let us hope that doesn’t happen.
I love to see that James has acquired the taste and is enjoying the lobster 🦞
He’s a growing lad. Needs his protein. 💪🏻🦞
Just love watching these coastal foraging adventures with James. I hope you keep making them. Be encouraged!
Thank you Phil.
I totally understand how you feel about mindless individuals who have no respect for you trying to protect your local area when doing your very informative and educational videos hopefully you keep up making them for us all to enjoy.
We shall see what we can do.
Please don't stop making videos. You ARE educating people. There will always be some that don't listen and think they have the right to behave badly but I bet that for everyone that behaves badly you have taught at least 40 to behave responsibly. You are doing a great job and would be sorely missed it you gave up.
Thank you Marion, it is our pleasure to share our videos with you. 😊🦞
Ive started to call my 5 year old best boy and couldn't work out were I'd got it from! Love this video again with master fishlocker, brilliant parenting that I take a huge inspiration from❤
Positive reinforcement mate. 😉👍🏻
I made fish (cod) and chips for my supper to eat while I watched this video!
Nice.
Love your videos - especially with your son!!
Thank you so much
You can’t believe some people, pure ignorance and intrusiveness. Great video John ,as always a credit to you and James, pity more parents can’t follow suit. Keep them coming.
Thank you Keith. Soon be time for the sharks 😉👍🏻
Great fun with James you will never forget !!!!!!
💙🦞
Great video. Your cooking process on the beach is so simple, I think James can do it next time.
Hello young gentleman James and dear John!
Hi Sherri.
Well done guys keep up the good work.I used to and still do go winkling with my daughter on Flamborough beach East Yorkshire she’s now 21 and still loves it ,it’s lovely to see you and your son having and making great memories.
It’s a wonderful activity isn’t it
Priceless time with your son. He clearly enjoys his time with his Dad, learning incredible life skills and having fun. He’s a credit the you and your wife! 🙂❤️
Thank you Andy. He makes us very proud.
Pretty soon, James is going to require a whole lobster to himself!
I don’t doubt it
Finding a lighter when you were a kid was like gold! Haha
FACT!!
@thefishlocker don’t cry John James cracked me up he is getting his own sense of humour love it
He’s hysterical isn’t he. 🤣
Excellent video John! I love the father and son time together ❤️❤️❤️. I love your foraging videos.
These are my favourite times.
Mate, I don’t live in your country and really enjoy your video’s so I hope you don’t stop!
I hope that this warning will be enough to stop it happening again.
I really hope you don't ever have to stop recording your trips and outings you , and your family keep me going . Ty for always making me feel better xxoo
We shall have to see what happens
Great video! Thank you so much!
You are so welcome 😊🦞
I sure hope you don't stop making the videos. I'm disabled now, and this is one of my favorite activities that you do! Love your videos!
I hope that this warning is enough to dissuade people from doing it again.
James is the cutest, insisted on showing off his clever little fort. 😅 always so lovely to see you spending time out on the shore!
He’s a little superstar isn’t he.
Sad how some folks ruin it for others ☹️
These are definitely my fav type of videos. 👍
It has always been the way. A negative minority will always spoil it for everyone.
Love this. John: 《long, detailed explanation》 James: Yup! 😂❤
Yep.
Priceless adventures for the lad - and character building for him by the dad! 🤠
Family time is time well spent
Adorable ❤
My goodness your son has grown so tall!
It’s all the seafood he’s eating. 😊💪🏻
I found your program on youTube by accident several months ago and have enjoyed the content, your knowledge you share with your following and your professionalism and respect you have for the sealife, the environment, and your family. I have watched other similar programs and yours is 2nd to none. the other programs don't measure up to yours. Some of them are so violent and disrespectful to the sea and it's marine life it makes me sick! There are others that are respectful and knowledgable like yours, but they are few. I'm sorry for the harrassment you have endured, but I so desperately hope you can continue to post and share your knowledge! I love your beach cookouts and your searches for razor clams, scallops, lobsters and crab. Thank you😀
Hey John I know I've said it before but I really appreciate your content and seeing you all grow especially little James he's becoming quite the young enthusiast lol it took me a long time to like seafood and seeing James go from "no thanks" to " i get the big claw" lol amazing to see I love you all and I'm sorry you were getting disturbed by people earlier on. Any ways much live keep going don't ever stop
Thank you and I appreciate the comment. It is truly wonderful to see James’ development through the years. He makes us very proud.😊
Whenever I go to a beach or a river, basically any place thats littered with people during the summer, I ALWAYS try to pick up trash if I find any. It's very important to keep our water sources clean and safe so that the ecosystem can keep thriving!
I agree. Thank you.
Another wonderful upload. Thanks again for taking the time to do this John - it’s very much appreciated.
Our pleasure Phil, best wishes mate.
Top Dad . Quality education for James & your audience
I’m glad you think so.
I think I understand why locals might be curious as to where you are, but It's more difficult to comprehend why they wouldn't take on-board the message that you're sharing. Here in Australia we certainly have plenty of 'Rockpool monsters', but that doesn't detract from the joy of discovery when given the opportunity to explore our beaches. I reckon I'll not be alone in hoping you continue to share your adventurers, and the cooking of your F in L... 😀 And watching your lad assimilate this knowledge is heart warming ☺ Thank you!
I hope this warning stops it happening again. As it won’t stop us doing this, we’ll just stop filming it.
Nothing more satisfying than watching father and son toasting marshmallows after a day of hanging out together...
Time well spent
Nothing i like better is opening my you tube app and seeing you have posted a video with James ❤
💙🦞
best fort ive seen in years :)
John. Family comes first. I would love to bump into you and James, just say hello ,shake your hand , say thanks for such a good educational watch and bimble off..knowing I've met a good man whos doing good things..
If you see us out and about be sure to say hello.
Greetings ! It’s been so long since I seen one of your videos! NOTHING better than rock pool hunting topped off with fresh picked lobster and with your son to make it even that much more special. James has grown so fast and appears to have the manners of his mom and dad😊. Your video was very educational, thank you for making and posting it, God bless you and your family … Cheers from Florida….. PS, great fort James, good Job buddy…
Greetings and thank you for the wonderful feedback. Have a lovely day. 😊👍🏻
I must agree with everyone else! Your channel is so unique and love the stories you tell, and adventure you take us all on! If you ever stopped, we would understand, but we also would be sad to see it happen. There is always a bad apple in every walk of life, and I hate that you and your son couldn't just enjoy the day out on this trip without someone bothering you. I as a father myself, understand that people are not to be trusted, and even though you're out with your boy, being bothered during a father and son day out ruins the adventure. I wish you all the best! Much love from my family to yours!
Thank you for understanding. If they had done and said what they did and I had been in my own it would have gone a very different way.
@@TheFishLocker Exactly, and I understand completely!
Oh what a shame! No more videos? So sad. But it’s sad that people follow you around just so they can steal your the critters that you find and leave behind. Loved seeing you and James together. Keep up the good work.
Excellent work. Your message is clear and honourable. Thank you.
We simply do as we feel is right. Take care and have a great day. 😊🦞
Thanks John and James another great video thank you. Looking forward to seeing James go snorkelling with you! Laughed how James got the big claw lol!! Great fire builder. Always learn something from your videos John, much appreciated mate. All the best Graham
Thank you Graham.
Mmmmmm...costal foraging....my favorite stories🙂🏖🌞🍀👌
Glad you enjoyed joining us.
Thanks John.. Love these foraging episodes with your son 👍 looks like your cool merch back in stock ! Just treated myself 👌 🙂
Excellent. 👍🏻🦞
Respect to you and your family for loving nature. I am from the caribbean and i just love your costal shores . Your videos are very therapeutic 👍
Thank you.
thank you for all the videos.
It is my pleasure.
i hope in my next life i’m luckily enough to be raised somewhere as beautiful as your home. I’m so happy you and your family take such amazing care of the land and its inhabitants. Youve been my favorite channel for years and i love keeping your location as a mystery.
Thank you Grace and have a wonderful day 😊🦞
I've been watching you off on on for a few years. I love that your awe and appreciation for the natural world continues. You also inspire me to get put fishing more. Best to you and yours.
Thank you. I am glad that you are still enjoying our content. I don’t think I shall ever stop enjoying exploring the natural world.
I bloody enjoyed that, great watch again Thanks John and James. Just makes you want to get out there exploring with my own children. Hoping for some decent weather over the coming weeks so I think a trip around our local the Gower Coast will be on the cards 🤞
I hope the weather is good for you Mark.
i like all your video's but the foraging ones are my favourite thanks for sharing them.
Thank you.
Hi from Australia you are an awesome dad and content creator
Thank you. We are simply sharing what we love doing. 😊🦞
Great video...thank you!⚓🦞
Glad you enjoyed it Stu.
Thank you for protecting the ecosystems and holding people accountable. It’s the best thing we can do to preserve it! Be safe and thank you for the videos! 🎉 I watch them every day 😁
Be safe Abbey and have a wonderful day.
Time spent with your children are beyond special and bring joy for ever. If other people dont get it they can **** ***.
Haha.
John: I'm dying
James: Yeah😶
😂
He is definitely my Yes man.
I love watching these videos whilst doing projects on the side, and I think you might've made me want to go out to the sea and forage! One issue with that though, I'm landlocked!
Hope you and your family are doing great, and that the shenanigans of people near you come to a close. Stay safe out there, and Happy Foraging!
I hope so too. Have a great day and take care.
Fantastic as always!
😊🦞
You have a vast knowledge ofl the marine life. What is your background and profession. Thank you. So very fascinating.
I’m an engineer, this is just my passion. 😊👍🏻
What a lovely day and fantastic way to spend it with your son. I really enjoyed watching it.
We are simply sharing what we love doing. 😊🦞
As a kid from London I used to forage the north coast kent beaches on holiday I would pick cockles and mussels from the rocks and my mother cooked them I would also use some as bait on a bent safety pin and string to catch crabs, these days the rocks there are black and barren of seafood and the sea is filthy like a sewer alas so it's nice to see somewhere clean, thanks for sharing love your channel.
That is a shame
I have learned so much in your videos, thank you.
I am glad you have found them interesting
My favorite videos! Father and son foraging! James has grown a lot! Father like son 🧒
He’s a proper little man now isn’t he.
