Greay video mate. I'm pretty sure ive seen every single spearfishing video on yotube twoce, and then some. Your's is byfar the most informative and instrictional, thank you so much, i learned lots from that. You’ve also given me a confidence boost for spearing on the North devon coast 🤟🏼
@@jackmetcalfe8542 Yeah people don't seem to want to cover the hunting techniques and use of ground as much! But your videos help other spearos like me when thinking about how to approach new areas so thanks!
I went spearfishing at the end of May, a bit closer to Nefyn. I didn't see anything except for some small pollock, a lot of crabs, and one seal )). In your case was very good visibility. Great shots!
I go a long long way out (45 minutes swim) there’s some pinnacles that are covered at low tide which always hold large Bass Got bored of shooting Plaice off the surface!
I was just re watching your flattie hunting vids and wondering why you'd not released any content recently. Then next second you pop up on my feed 😂😂 Another very informative one, thank you...
Hi jack. Excellent videos and i look forward to more. I'm visiting north wales in august and was wondering how i might get in touch with you about the possibility of you taking me out for a beginners tour or something like that. Thanks.
Message me on Instagram when you know the dates. I know a couple of guys who can do a days guided Spearfishing if I’m not available Both very good, one is like me an ex-Marine, the other served in the Army
Good video Jack, i dont live far from you and travel up the llyn from porth ysgaden and the tip off uwchmynydd. I have been around the Maen mellt with a fiahing kayak with sonar&charts and did quite well a bit further out for bigger pollack just where it drops off a bit on the chart. Hopefully should see you up there one day. Great instructional video.great session to watch.
Great video👍. I recently tried spearfishing for the first time, we shore dived in from church bay northwest Anglesey. Unfortunately The visibility was around 1m so we had to call it a day. What are ways you can predict visibility around north wales.?
1 - Wait until mid May, algae bloom is before that 2 - Anglesey is much better on neap tides 3 - The west coast of Anglesey has WAY better vis than north or east 4 - Dive marks out of the main tidal stream when there is suspected sediment. The tidal stream is especially visible at Treudder bay where vis can be 10m in the shallows but 3m in the current I dived the east coast today, on a neap tide, zero swell or waves at the best time of year for vis and still only got 4m
In this video I’m in an 8mm suit with 12kg of lead But usually I dive in a 7/5mm suit and 7kg on the belt for shallow dives Dropping that to 5kg if hunting at deeper depths
Cable Bay is an extremely safe mark that I have shot excellent fish at Holds Flounder in the shallows, Bass on the reefs to each side and some shootable Pollock in the 30-40cm range off the headland Aside from that try Treudder Bay and the reefs around Rhosneigr
Love the videos binge watching them all before I go for my first dive . Great job making them so informative keep up the good work
That's great to hear, good luck when you get out! Any questions just put them in the comments and I'm happy to help

Really appreciate that, thank you! Good luck with your hunting this season
Super video , well done
Was wondering when you'd put another video out! Great sessions and love listening to how you do business and your thought process!
Glad you enjoyed it, always trying to add more value than the standard catch & cook videos everyone else does!

We must be just missing each other at that spot! I have kept to the shallows dodging boats over the weekend. Great video.

Been really busy with work, was good to get a few sessions in! Plus shot some Bass for my builders to eat haha

Some fierce currents in that area! Very difficult to spear. I just used the screenshots for illustration - definitely not giving the actual mark up!

Nice to see you uploading again.. question how much weight do you use for diving to around 5m

Hi jack, me and a friend are coming to Anglesey next week to try spearfishing, can you recommend and good places to practise spearfishing/diving.

Brilliant cheers mate, great videos btw!
Another nice video. I thought you gave up spearfishing once you got into developing...
Haha no just been too busy to edit footage this year, had a really complex project on Anglesey but nearly done now
looks so much fun tbh
Worth getting some kit and giving spearing a try if you’ve not yet, it’s a class sport
mint video cheers
