There is also a lore that says that Graz'zt is a brother of Glasya (meaning that he is a son of Asmodeus). Than, during a Blood War, when he was a ruler of Malbolge, his hellish army actually menaged to make an succesful invasion into the Abyss, when he conquered 3 layers of the Abyss, however, when he became increasingly insane as a consequence of Abyssal corruption, Asmodeus knew that he was lost and send Glasya (Graz'zt own sister) to assasinate him. She was succesful, but Graz'zt was reborn, this time not as Archdevil, but as a Demon lord. From his blood, Babau demons were created. Than he asserted control over those 3 layers of the Abyss that he conquered and created the Azzatar. I personally like this version of his lore more😊
Graz’zt possesses one of the most epic weapons in D&D as well, a Demon Lord / ArchDevil / Love Child of an Otherworldy Cosmic Entity one-handing a wavy greatsword dripping with acid makes quite an impression
Back in the 1st edition/2nd edition days, This MF was our group’s arch nemesis for a long time. Our DM loved having him thwart our plans and make us end up doing what he wanted us to do. We even tried to get him with a helm of alignment change….didn’t work. The DM laughed. Again. 😂.
I fought him once. I lost. Badly. He did have a reach advantage though. My DM played him like Caligula from "I Claudius", hedonistic, totally immoral and cunning. It was perfect. Keep doing these dude, they are awesome. Brings back some of my fondest memories from the 80's. Still have all my Advanced books. Cheers.
Sex, drugs, and rock & roll. I’d be willing to bet there isn’t a single moment where a hair metal band isn’t performing somewhere on his three layers. I still much prefer Orcus tho
Ya I think Orcus may be more interesting as a DnD villain, but I love to see a switch up like Graz’zt. He may not want to destroy all life that you know or turn it to undead, he just wants to have a bit of fun.
I have plans in my game that should Asmodeus ever fall it would herald Graz’zt’s Rise to rule over a united power planes as the King of Fiends. However, ruling over devils, demons, yugaloths, and everything else would ultimately hinder his ability to conquer the multiverse
sooooo ... D&D Slaanesh, nice it's interesting, the fact that he consider an insult to be called a devil or archdevil but still is fond of making deal or trading favors, just like ... a devil
I can't see Dagon or pazuzu cowering. Pazuzu is one of the least confined of the obyrith, able to manifest on the prime material. Dagon is the great schemer and one of the wisest being in existence.
Cowering? Probably not, but retreating I can see. Both are very aware of their limitations and strengths, Dagon has never really shown the initiative to become Prince of Demons and Pazuzu would never win in a content of pure strength.
@The_NaturalOnes Dagon is the advisor of demogorgon he fell right into the correct spot to be untouchable. And pazuzu in uncontested as the demon price of air he doesn't have a layer he has all areal spaces on an infine number of layers, Also he offers wishs to all the good little boys and girls.

I would love to Graz’zt in one of my games, that sounds perfect. Thanks for the kind words!
Bro wants to be Slaanesh so bad
True
Graz'zt has been around since long before 40k.
@@timothywootton5331 So has Slaanesh, they're a year apart in creation
Or a face of Slaanesh invading another intellectual property.
@timothywootton5331 yeah but zoomers don't care about the contacts for timeline, they just care about generic haha funny

He's the GQ model of demon lords
