Evil is selfish. It cares only for its own motivations. Lawful means some kind of order is imposed. Laws, rules, oaths, whatever. Restrictions are imposed. Chaotic means there are no restrictions. No standardization. Highly individual. Neutral just means neither of the last two apply. So lawful evil is the evil of rules without compassion. Just absolute soul crushing bureaucracy. Nothing necessary about it. Chaotic evil is the evil of survival. To live free of all restrictions is to be subject to the whims of brute strength. Might makes right. Neutral evil is evil of pure self-centeredness. Truest kind of evil but no more or less evil than any other. Just...maybe the most recognizable as truly evil. No justifications with the law or needs of survival. Just evil.
Feds trying to throw up enough smoke with random false accusations after maybe sorta accidentally funding a couple diddlers. TO think it would have any upsides.
What's more interesting is they were exposing evil and promoting fighting it , now certain types of people are now fighting against the idea there is evil at all , blurring the lines , evil is just a misunderstood victims, good are crazy authoritarians who do more harm than good , nothing can be done
In the city of doors they're losing succubus who is not only turned her back on the very basics of her nature and become celibate but has turned traitor to the evil that lies in her very soul she is a chaotic good succubus that is opened a brothel for slaking the intellectual thirst and she is also a member of the sensei's the order of sensations most notably she helped an immortal not too long ago find a way to end is unceasing existence and embrace his punishment for wickedness of his first life If you ever have a chance to play planescape torment you should know who I speak of
I’ve always wondered how demons (or devils, for that matter) actually manage to replenish their numbers. I mean from petitioners, from which the Tanari’i and Baatezu get the lion’s share of their forces. Not the mechanics, but the petitioners themselves. While there will always be creatures that just don’t care - or believe they can climb the hierarchy - about what happens to them in the afterlife, surely most creatures do care. Unlike our reality, they can know exactly what awaits them if they are chaotic and evil. Torture, suffering, endless strife, etc. The good planes should be overflowing with petitioners, if for no other reason than to avoid the Abyss, Hades, etc. Only the most evilly insane creatures would strive to go to the Abyss. It isn’t even like the demons hide their activities or try to dupe creatures into joining them, unlike the devils. Asmodeus even intended Avernus to be a lush, green, pleasant place to deceive mortal creatures into believing Baator was a paradise, until the Blood War wrecked it. Imagine you can see the various afterlives by looking through a portal. You see Hell and are told this is where you will go if you are dishonest and evil, then you see Heaven, and you are told you will go there if you are honest and good. Which are you going to be? 99% of people would probably pick Heaven and try to be as honest and good as they could be.
I totally get what you mean! I may not know a whole lot about the day to day life about every Material Plane world but for the most part people don't have that portal to see the other planes. We get the big picture because of the books and DM insight, but people born in the D&D worlds just have access to what they learn from their own experiences, and because there are so many religions, they get a lot of mixed messages. And more than that, I think many people don't see beyond their own material (literally) lives. Plus, whenever the souls are waiting on the Fugue or in the Shadowfell demons sometimes just run in there to collect. Lol. But again, I see what you mean!
Succubus who started out classified as demons, Just to be considered a Devil in 4th edition, Just to be classified as a General Fiend in themselves are video worthy ngl (given their not necessarily daemon either but are an odd exception).
Oh believe me, this was a rabbit hole I fell down during research for this Demon series! They will definitely be getting their own video in the future.
@nicthedm7650 Thanks! Yeh, I get deep into the obscure lore rabbithole and like to connect the dots. Soooo~ If you ever wanna geek out about D&D lore or something, I'd be happy to jump on Discord or something to geek out. 😁👍
Devils are definitely on my list. I just have some more demon videos coming up and then I may start working on the devils on the side while doing some demon lord videos.
Baatezu devils of lawful evil that were once mortals the enter to the nine hells by contract or being lawful evil in life and some more lore about them Baatezu race of devils that were formed from mortal souls. And the first Lords of the nine that fallen, and that are ancient. that were never human and the ones that were human called Baatezu devils.
The fiends of lawful evil and chaotic evil have had the most love and attention in D&D, when true evil has barely had the surface scratched…
Well, when I get to the other fiends I'll dig as deep as I can to uncover all there is about them as well.
Lawful Evil = "I'm Evil because it's necessary / inevitable"
Neutral Evil = "I'm Evil because it's convenient"
Chaotic Evil = "I'm Evil because I like it, LOL"

I love how the satanic panic of the 80s just gave us a bunch of really deep lore of the lower planes

I should know, but I got lost in that giant run-on sentence.
Good use of Faces of Evil: the fiends. I love that book(and this video).
It certainly was a massively detailed source for the Tanar'ri!

@@nicthedm7650yes plz, would love a video on Succubus/Incubus!
Very interesting and informative video! I would love a video similar to this for Devils

Nope. Yugoloths are the most evil. IMO of course. Your vids have a greater rewatchability than the 665 level of the abyss has depth. Keep em coming!
Thank you! I'll continue to do my best!
