The weakest points of Samsung phones in the past were their curved displays and thankfully the N20 has a flat display. So falling flat will spread the fall. No doubt if it fell onto something with edges it would smash. I have not seen the Victus display fall onto anything other than a flat surface yet so unsure how that would hold up. Impressive from Samsung and although I would still put on a screen protector and case it is good to know.

I'm looking into upgrading to a Note20 Ultra now that they've decreased in price, but that glass back is the only discourage. It's so displeasing when the backs crack, I've been through it with the S8+ and I never even dropped it 😣 they're literally so sensitive. I know a case hides it, but it's still the knowledge that it's there if it cracks 😂
Are you testing these phones on concrete disguised marshmallows? Because i dropped my samsung galaxy note 20 ultra from below knee height on its back, with a case and screen protector, and the front screen cracked. This phone is such a joke.
Yup, it really depends on how you drop your phone, mine has a bumper case and it slips out of my hand at a knee height and the side of my tempered glass shattered.
So you use the exact same footage for the note 20 ultra, as in the iphone 11 pro vs note 20 ultra drop test video. But your rating is very different. It got 37 points in this video and 39 in the other video. Thats a weird style to rate depending on the opponent. Would be easier to just make the rating system more equalized and rank the smartphones from that. But then again, this way you can make more videos.

You have to remember Samsung doesn't make their money from charging you 650 dollars to repair a back glass or 450 to repair a front display cover. They have an incentive to make their phones stronger. Other companies with these hyper profitable repair scams don't.

Hey note 20 ultra in this video is the same as in video note 20 ultra vs iphone 11 pro max, look at the crack pattern is exactly the same, I guess you use a new rod every droptest it turns out it's an old video
It makes complete sense that the Note 20 would be more durable than the Note 20 Ultra, not only does it have a plastic back which can't really crack, but it has a flat display, which means the edges of the glass are protected by the metal bumper, whereas the curved glass has a very minimal side metal bumper which leaves the side edges of the glass completely open. Incase you didn't already know, glass is much weaker and easier to break when it's hit on the edge. Meaning even with weaker glass, the flat display makes it pretty much impossible for the impact of a drop to go to edge of the glass, making the flat glass much harder to brake on a flat surface.
I think mostly those platforms are flat and smooth but if you drop it on something that’s not smooth like small rocks the screen may crack at some point.
