    About 1056am Friday a oversize load was westbound on SH 105 east near Walker Road. Many motorists were moving very slowly behind this escorted load. It was then that an 18-wheeler loaded with lumber traveling at highway speed westbound slammed into the line of vehicles and went over the top of at least one. The 74,000-pound truck then crossed the eastbound lane and flipped in a stand of pine trees almost 100 feet off the road. A it traveled it was dragging a Mercedes with it. Both the male driver and female passenger on the Mercedes passed away on the scene. A woman in the Cadillac was in critical condition and taken to Conroe Regional Medical Center where she died some three hours later on the operating table. The truck driver is in stable condition and was able to crawl out of the truck. The driver of the Ford F250 who was also rear-ended was not injured but witnessed it and described the scene. Another vehicle was also struck but was drivable and the driver was not injured. The child in the Cadillac was on the right rear seat of the vehicle in a safety seat is in critical condition at Houston Memorial Hermann Hospital after being flown from Conroe Regional by Life Flight. The driver of the 18-wheeler owned by Big Boy Trucking of Buna, Texas has been transported to the Montgomery County Jail and is being charged with three counts of intoxication manslaughter and two counts of intoxication assault.
    Montgomery County Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace James Metts responded to the scene and ordered Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the deceased to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy.
    The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office assisted in the investigation. Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office assisted in traffic control as did TXDOT.
    SH 105 remains closed as a Haz-Mat Team cleans up close to 12 gallons of oil spilled on the roadway and then spread by motorists driving around the crash scene. In addition almost 200 gallons of diesel fuel which spilled.

    Just to let you people being hard on the man talking about his totalled 250, have empathy, he just went through a traumatizing event that fortunately he wasn’t injured in. He’s in shock & his brain is trying to make sense of it all. You don’t know how you’ll respond in situations, you think you’ll hold it together but you may not. This incident is overwhelming to to be involved in so just have some empathy for him.

      Looking at the accident scene, OMG, no wonder this man is speaking as if in a trance.
      He kinda has that "thousand yard stare" look in his eyes, imo.
      He's a very lucky man, Iindeed.
      The crash scene is just devastating to look at.
      All accident scenes are awful, of course .
      I wish nothing but the best for this man, and for all the Victims' loved ones left behind.
      Huge thanks to our Nations' First Responders for going to work every day, knowing that they might well have to respond to another, future, accident /crime scene before they retire.

      I agree truckers move the world total respect….they are ALWAYS pressured for time …sometimes with a lack of enough sleep…I’m just saying what they do is hard work and exhausting…
      On the other hand I totally feel for the innocent victims family’s my heart goes out to them
      Truckers also have to deal with ALOT of four wheelers that think big rigs can stop on a dime…
      I feel bad for everyone involved…that trucker will live with this for the rest of his life…

      I’m about 3 yrs after your post @Elizabeth-rq1vi but you are so right. People who aren’t there have no idea what he went through during/after this and the trauma and PTSD he has had. I guess it helps to understand when people now act like they are the only one’s whose opinions count. It shows that the Hiden Biden dementia ridden patient currently in the WH now who treats EVERYONE with the exception of the squad slowly took over the left and is making it seem like their view is the only correct opinion and nobody else matters. Thank you, it was easy to see the gradual decline in the American citizens not a sheer cliff that those pro-hamas losers jumped off was not, and doesn’t have to be the future…

      @@whatwillbem6825My father in law was a truck driver and he never had any problems except when the lady, who was in the far left lane that was obviously a left turn only, went straight and hit his truck. There are times they semi-drivers have to hurry but that doesn’t make the DUI ok. Even when he was tired he still never wrecked and damn sure never hit anyone… this is dangerous and there is no excuse. Some drivers take pills/drugs to stay awake and there is no excuse. My son is a truck driver and doesn’t have that problem either. Let’s not let the driver be absolved of his responsibility. Setting a bad precedent.

      @IntrebuloN 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It's actually law where I live to leave enough room in front when stopped in order that you may maneuver around the vehicle in front. This is so you don't have to reverse (which is also illegal on our public roads, technically) to pass a disabled vehicle, so you can move over if needed for emergency vehicles and so you have an escape route.

    This goes on daily through out America , truck drivers are not what they were when I started driving a truck and that was over forty years ago. Many are good drivers , but many could care less about or your family . This is why I ask all drivers on the roads today , to stay clear of all tractor/trailers , if they approach you , let them pass ,if you approach them , stay at a safe distance until you have a chance to pass and do just that , pass , get clear and move back over . Do no ride along beside them ! You do not really understand all the different scenarios that could take place , and in a matter of a few seconds you and or your family could loose your life !

    • @lindahandley5267
      @lindahandley5267 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sometimes there are situations where you don't have Time to react! When I'm driving, if the traffic slows down or stops, I'm looking in my rear view And my side mirrors. If you're blocked in and can't budge an inch and an 18 wheeler is barreling down on you, there's nothing you can do, unless you're by yourself and are able to jump out of the car, because you know you wouldn't survive otherwise!
      A few years ago, I was able to save myself and others from getting hit from behind. I was on my way home from work in rush hour. I was going Westbound and the traffic had come to a stop on the interstate, (never knew why). I looked in my rear view and saw a car flying up on me. There just happened to be a cut-through to the East bound lane coming up, so I jerked my car off of the road. The woman coming up behind me reacted quickly and pulled over too. We avoided a horrible accident from happening. I sat in my car at the cut through for about an hour, shaking and crying. It took me a while to calm down.
      I lived through another time when I got hit from behind, on a hill, on the interstate in a terrible thunderstorm. I braced myself for the collision, and held on for dear life when a big SUV hit me and slammed me into the car in front of me. Miraculously, none of us were hurt. I only had a bruised finger. You do the best you can in each situation

    Hearing this described reminds me of something terrifying I saw (and reported) one night on I-495, also involving a large truck. It was a semi pulling double trailers, but driving at an extremely high rate of speed- to where it was passing almost all of the cars on a highway at night. (Think about that for a moment.) As the truck was switching lanes erratically, that second trailer was really fishtailing its way across the highway, swiping across multiple lanes. I held WAY back after he'd passed me, watching in horror. And that damn truck continued to overtake the unsuspecting drivers in its wake, and its load continued to make these broad, sweeping motions across the highway.

    The famous country singer Johnny Horton was killed by a drunk truck driver, it was 1960 and I thought those days were long gone but I guess not. Yeah, I read the comments about it being meth not booze but it sill goes to show you even truck drivers can break laws. Got to look out for the other driver that out of the blue could kill you. For one thing I usually look both ways before going thru a green light unless there are lots of other cars that already went thru the light and or are parallel with mine. A sleepy oncoming driver could do it too, I avoid 2 lane highways if I can. Johnny Horton was a defensive driver, he actually did successfully dodge drunk drivers in the past but the situation happened on a bridge so he could not swerve out of the way, and he was driving a big-ole 1960 Cadillac, so what else can you do, sometimes it's just your time.

      Keri Whitmire But wow, the kid must have permanent health problems now. The mother did apparently die on the operating table a few hours later. They said the kid was in critical condition, this means that he/she had very bad injuries -- probably head, neck and internal organ damage. I hope that stupid truck driver watched this video and saw what he did. It's too bad they didn't show him graphic photos of the bodies in the cars -- that would really make him realize what he actually did -- and what those careless drinks did. He should have life in prison.
