Agreed. If the drivers of those trucks weren’t doing anything wrong and none of this was their fault, I don’t want them to suffer the anguish of a guilty conscience. They probably will though. That’s the drawback of human empathy, even when there was nothing we could have done differently in our own control to change the situation we still feel responsible. It’s like train conductors after somebody commit suicide by train. They couldn’t have changed it and they couldn’t do anything to stop it but it still hurts.
I agree and would add that thankfully she didn't kill anyone else and or their kids, hopefully the truck drivers won't experience PTSD from such a horrific accident, and Yes that really happens, the first responders get counciling if needed but truck drivers including the wrecker drivers get absolutely nothing for the trauma
@@mdlclassguymdlclassguy6488 Wow, I never thought about the aftermath of the truckers and tow truck/ rollback drivers, That would haunt my thoughts for sure!
I see it every day because they stopped Drivers Ed in schools 15 years ago in our school system. People have no clues of the safe driving that we were taught in Drivers Ed. They don’t know what to do when you come to a 4 way stop at the same time. The kids think it’s funny to blow through stop signals and not to yield to emergency vehicles then drive in a turning lane but when they hit the interstate they loose at their games. 90,000 lb trucks will never have enough brakes to compensate for stupidity.
So true. Drivers Education is a very important course for a teenager to be required to take and pass to get their license. Their lack of knowledge and stupidity combined with the "me me me" attitude usually doesn't end well for someone, sometimes an innocent someone. It blows my mind how many cars will go through a light in a turning lane after it has turned red. I've seen as many as four cars do it before and people not knowing how to use the "turning lane" between opposite lanes. They will get in that lane and drive down it forever until they can merge into traffic. If I remember correctly we were taught to pull into that lane and sit there until you can turn, not to endlessly drive down it.
Where I live in Nowhere Canada Driving School is mandatory. In order for people to get their drivers license the students MUST go through drivers ed. The mom and dad lessons are not allowed anymore
Dutchy here , In my country preschool children learn about the blind spot of semi’s , learn to cycle in traffic ( with a diploma ) . And most learn their theory classes about traffic rules , only if they passed this they have professional riding lessons ! But there will always idiots on the roads !
I’m 72, but even when I got my DL at 16, I’ve always had a healthy respect(you could say fear)of any type of big trucks. I never follow close. And when there’s one coming up behind me, I try to move over out of his way. I don’t even try to pass them. And I was thinking, are people required to watch these types of videos before they get their license? Do kids in school take drivers ed? I’m in the mindset that I avoid traveling on the interstate if at all possible. I either take the feeder roads, or I know away around the construction that’s going on now on I 45. There have been a few deadly accidents on the highway before it’s even finished. I am NOT in any hurry to get anywhere I need to go.
If she would have waited 20sec to pass the truck this wouldn’t have happened. I don’t get it, people driving like this with children in the car. Prayers for the family.

Sooo sad! Those truck drivers are going to have this on their conscience the rest of their career and they weren’t at fault. The mother was in a hurry to meet her maker and now there’s two kids without a mother. I pray the kids pull thru alright.

Ya know dam well the they made the truckers go through a blood alcohol test even though they were NOT THE CAUSE of this accident! I know cuz I had to do one at a hospital from a semi truck/ car related crash that i was involved in & it wasn't my fault, but the fault of the 4-wheeler chevy S10 pickup truck that I ended of T-boning at a stop light intersection! And I still.do not know to this day. . . . . more than likely. . . . .NOT, unfortunately! SLOW THE HELL DOWN PEOPLE & PAY THE ATTENTION AROUND US BIG TRUCKS! YOU WILL LOOSE EVERY SINGLE TIME!!! PLEASE SLOW DOWN!!!!!!
Yeah, like even tho' you can tell the truck drivers were not at fault here, you can see the officer measuring the trucks tire tread, which is just one thing tested out of many that they were doing to the trucks, and if his truck tires don't have enough tread, then the trucker will be sighted for that, and in some cases will be found to be at fault do to lack of traction. Truckers get put through the mill, with their trucks being gone over, and if they find anything they deem to be wrong they'll receive citations, which are MUCH higher than regular vehicles receive and they even have to go and get drug tested even if the crash clearly wasn't their fault.
@@calvinh.8882 Yeah & not only are us truckers drug tested from an accident that was clearly not our fault, we are RANDOMLY selected through out the year to do a drug piss test, at any time, from the city/county's discretion plus, every 2 years mandatory when when we go to renew our D.O.T. physical!

You are correct sir. This tragedy is avoidable. One thing that stuck with me when I first started learn to drive is driving defensively. And you are so right when you said "There's no excuse for PASSING IN A CURVE !!!!!!!!!"
The only possible excuse is; there are lots of ways to commit suicide. This is one way. Another, is being distracted by your "widow maker" cell phone. Facts are, between 34,000 to 45,000 men women and children will be killed in motor vehicle accidents this year alone. This young mother is one of those statistics. Realize that we lost 2,700 fighting warriors in Afghanistan over a twenty year period. Driving your car is far more deadly. The year of my service in Vietnam May'68-'69 was a real killer year...but not only in Vietnam. Total loss of our soldiers fighting to stop Communism from consuming a democratic elected government, South Vietnam, was around 57,000 over a about a 11 year period. However right here in the states, on our highways and byways , during the years 1968 and 1969 I was much safer over there than If I were here driving on our killer road , as 102,607 men women and children were killed in motor vehicle accidents. My thoughts and prayers go out to all who lose loved ones to the cursed Road to Hell.
@@wisheduknew294 oh, and say what, that she just made a error in her judgement? So, shall we just show compassion on the 36,000 to 45,000 other men, women and kids that will die on American highways, byways, and parking lots every year - and all will be good? My heart breaks when n I see these deaths, but I'm a little hardened to the reality of it all as I just retired off the Road to Hell in October of 2018. I'm a survivor with approximately 3.75 million accident free miles and 48 years of driving a big rig (large car)through that insanity. Cell phones being used in moving vehicles are widowmakers. First thing I noticed was new black top and no lines on the road for passing/no passing zones. She may have thought she had enough time to pass and it was ok. So sad of an accident. No matter how safe you think you might be, you could have this happen.
Ben driving for 50+ years and don't recall there's EVER been a passing zone on a curve. If she didn't have clear line of sight, she shouldn't have passed.
It was her responsibility to drive safely. Passing in a curve is illegal, lines or no lines. She was totally responsible if she was passing in a curve.
I always find myself counting “time I would have saved” in many situations. I’m always surprised by how little difference passing or driving that little bit faster makes. It’s never worth the risk when it isn’t absolutely a safe pass.
"How was work today, dear?" "Well, I got to unwillingly participate in the death of a mother and the near-death of her two children. Probably won't be driving a truck anymore." Everyone please be safe out there.
The closer you get to the back of a big truck, the further you have to go out into oncoming traffic to see. Stay back so you might have to hug the center line or wait til you come to a curve, where you can easily see. Have your HEADLIGHTS on! Not daytime running lights.
I worked as a helicopter mechanic for a medical life flight company. I never asked about their job , about how their day was ( or night ) sometimes they would talk about it , sometimes they didn't . Not everyone that makes it on the helicopter, makes it to the Hospital. I drive very defensive, always watching what's going on .when I was just out of high school 1986 I was in a car accident, first time to fly on a helicopter. Life flight Houston Texas , Herman Hospital. This is a sad story.
I feel for the family but also the Truck Drivers I know that either one of them would have hit trees to keep from being involved with her death and hurting kids!
When the asphalt cools after being laid down, paint lines on it. There are more bends/curves in the road that are still passing zones than curves/bends that aren't. I didn't notice no passing zone signs . She might not have seen them if they were present due to the semi she was trying to pass. There are a lot of things that went wrong here. The road not being marked is a huge blackeye on this scene.
Liberty county if any particular road gets repaved you are lucky......the road will be half worn out by the time it gets stripes......787 & 1001 most dangerous roads in liberty county

I know it's easy to jump to conclusions based on what has initially been reported but for the sake of her loved ones please wait for the final investigation is completed. If I made a fatal mistake I would hope that other drivers would show compassion, instead of posting negative comments families read. As driver's I am 100% sure their is no one who hasn't made mistakes driving. We have all reached for something or taken our eyes off the road.
It seems she might have been okay if she had just stayed off the road and came to a stop in the grass. Then gotten her bearings and back on the road. Terrible decision to pass in a curve on a slippery road.
Slow down, and drive defensively so many people take those chances putting everyone in danger. She took a chance and lost. i see it every time I drive. Sad.

How do you pass an 18 wheeler in a curve that keeps you from seeing around it? That was a deadly move on Mothers part unfortunately. Just awful thing to deal with as a responder.
She was probably exhausted if it was 7am
Some mistake will not forgive you.
She was a teacher in the Headstart program and was probably running late - biggest reason for stupidity. "I gotta hurry or I am going to be late for work!"
@@lydiataylor9280 I have worked a lot of 12 hour shifts in my wonderful career of manufacturing. Never made me "exhausted" enough to pass a semi in a curve. I am sure that she was running late for her job as a teacher in the Headstart program. Thought that she could make up time by driving as a dumb arse.
PURE STUPIDITY!
When are people gonna learn that few seconds you're trying to save could be your last. My heart goes out to all involved, their lives are forever changed
Did the children die in that crash
My God. My hatred to have to ride with my husband anywhere! I tell him you do not care about my really bad neck and head injury and he says he’s a good driver OMG I just wanna bash him when I hear these stories
Glad the children survived. 🙏when I saw that vehicles I thought everybody was dead .God bless them
Praying for the family and also the 2 18 wheeler drivers🙏
Really they feel just as bad as anyone else and that sticks with those drivers especially every time they drive though that location in the future some drivers never get over it sometimes times doesn’t heal all wounds Praying for those children they loss their mom something that you can’t replace and prayers go out too those drivers of the 18 wheelers I drove one for a little over 20 years and the things that people do on the Hiway just amazes me
Amen Robert Jackson.
The 218 wheeler drivers ?
Bitch was really inpatient
My deepest condolences to the children and their dad and family and friends. I'm praying that the children make a speedy and fast recovery.
IM SURE THE DAD IS PISSED AT MOM FOR DOING THAT ON A CURVE AND RISKING THE CHILDREN S LIVES TOO . THERES NO EXCUSE FOR THAT.
Condolences to the family and speedy recovery to the children.
I really hope people slow it down, especially when you have kids.
Pun intended yes
I agree and would add that thankfully she didn't kill anyone else and or their kids, hopefully the truck drivers won't experience PTSD from such a horrific accident, and Yes that really happens, the first responders get counciling if needed but truck drivers including the wrecker drivers get absolutely nothing for the trauma
@@mdlclassguymdlclassguy6488 truckers do get counseling if they need or want it
I couldn’t believe the title when clicking on this video.
Praying for the truckers who have to live with it, remember everyone big trucks can't stop like 4 wheelers and most weight 40 tons
This.
TRUTH !!!
Well at least there’s one person with a brain!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
They think truckers can stop on a dime & give 9 cents change
Horrifying.
Completely unnecessary tragedy. I hope those children are able to recover. The entire situation sounds grim. Rest in peace mother.
My condolences to the family! My heart also goes out to the truck drivers. It takes a toll on the drivers as well.

Well we will never know. She probably just made a big mistake, but who knows, she could have been running from some road rager. Every day people are more crazy
Sooo sad! Those truck drivers are going to have this on their conscience the rest of their career and they weren’t at fault. The mother was in a hurry to meet her maker and now there’s two kids without a mother. I pray the kids pull thru alright.
Better to be a half hour late than 40 years too early.
@Joel Bargas That's even worse.
@Joel Bargas it is way more iresposible to knowingly get behind the wheel super drowzy.
Call me cold, but that was a stupid move on her part and she should've known better especially since she had her kids in the car. I feel so bad for those kids. The 8yr. old will probably never be the same if he/she survives that head injury. And the 2yr. old being tossed out is beyond horrible. What and idiotic mom. I might've felt bad for her if she had only injured herself.
I totally agree! She was probably running late and went stupid. 🤦🏻♀️
People take too many stupid chances arounds trucks. Usually, like this, you never get a second chance.
Not only short term bad decision making. But long term as well considering there's no reason the safety seat wouldve left the vehicle if it was strapped down properly.
This 100%! I'm a mom and drive so much more cautious when my kids are in the truck. They are precious cargo!
@@eptdy over 90% of car seats are improperly installed. I’m not saying this one was…or wasn’t but the seat probably saved that baby’s life even being ejected.

Pickup turned left on their red light side & my green light side just as I was starting to through the intersection! T- boned em & spun em down the right side of the truck. Low 90's something year old man driving & his mid 80's something wife as passenger. Broke her neck & wrist. He had bump & bruises on him. Emergency crew& cops at the scene said they didn't know of the lady was gonnuh survive because of the injuries she sustained.
@@calvinh.8882 Yeah & not only are us truckers drug tested from an accident that was clearly not our fault, we are RANDOMLY selected through out the year to do a drug piss test, at any time, from the city/county's discretion plus, every 2 years mandatory when when we go to renew our D.O.T. physical!

wow man,why she was trying to pass in a curve...very sad..praying for the family
I’d say it’s highly likely bc of the bad decisions she had Already made, by not pre-prepping the night before, & by not getting up early enough, to allow time to get Herself ready for work, as well as 2 wee ones ready in the morning chaos of them rarely cooperating, Especially when pushed for time-Time she Then Badly & Wrongfully chose, mostly in a frazzled state of morning mind, to make up for by speeding & recklessly driving on back roads she probably speeds & drives recklessly on more often than not, to get her wee ones to babysitters &/or school/daycare, to get to a job she’s been habitually late for,& sitting on the verge of being fired from. Could be a different scenario, but the odds are slim,& I’ve seen it Way to often in my 62 years-even with my Own grown child, who grew up with a disciplined morning routine, & my Grands,” bc it’s just too hard!”.
You tell me as a trucker 48years under my belt all I see is stupidity like this
If that's what she was trying to do I can see how she had two semis they were coming towards each other most likely and you never ever pass on a double yellow line or curve or the right side
Prayers for all involved (including truck drivers and first responders). This is hard on everyone involved and everyone at the scene. The children (if they recover) having to grow up without a mom. Please slow down and don’t let speed ruin your life! This is not what this family had planned when they left home this morning. 🙏🙏🙏

Why is new asphalt on road unfinished and no center lines or outer fog lines replaced on new road to warn drivers of danger
@@trumpcountry7809 because it takes time to complete! That asphalt hasn’t been there but a day or two and It is probly striped now but there are only so many hours in a day to get things done. You can not replace an entire road, stripe it, pack shoulders with fresh gravel, all in one day, it’s physically impossible!!
The better question would be is why is someone in such a hurry that they decide to pass a semi truck in a curve in a known construction site where passing is illegal in the first place until the roadway is complete and returned to normal service! Individual drivers need to start bearing responsibility for their actions instead of everyone looking for someone else to be the scapegoat for their poor decision making abilities!!!
That was sad, she should have never passed on a curve , it cost her her life
Life is too short to try to save time on the road. I feel for these children to have had to go through this. One moment a decision was made that ended up being the Mom's dumbest decision ever. Sadly I see stupid stuff like this all of the time where people want to save 15 seconds on their commute.

Deepest condolences to the family and friends of the driver. Praying both children pull through. My heart goes out to the two truck drivers.
Completely avoidable. There's no excuse for PASSING IN A CURVE !!!!!!!!!
You are correct however what’s done is done, a mother of two small children is dead so you could have a little compassion!
Period.
R.I.P, ...and put those 3 letters on a picket for every highway death, and you will drive between picket fences.

Yet another case of being in a “hurry” and probably texting while driving or allowing distractions in the vehicle to take the driver’s attention off of the road! It’s beyond sad, to the point of anger at the ever so common absent-mindedness seen on our roads. It’s an epidemic!

Whenever I'm stuck behind any vehicle on a 2-lane highway, I repeat this mantra: "Better late than dead."
That's awful. Little did the mom realize she was going to die today. Those poor children.
I hope they'll be okay 😥
Geez it's a miracle those children survived. I hope they recover fast and completely.
What an awful tragic collision. As a truck driver this is the kind of thing I worry about. Despite not being either of the trucks fault, not only do they have to live with it after, but they will still be as heavily scrutinized by police as if they were at fault.
Hope the children pull through and that there's a father or grandparent to care for them
As a retired firefighter/EMT/ level one trauma tech, it seriously irritates me when cops or civilians with absolutely NO emergency medical knowledge or training/ certifications moves a critically injured patient with severe head trauma!!!!
That also most likely includes spinal cord injuries!!!

Settle down Dr. Feelgood. They did the best they could. How many people did you really see that a C-Spine injury killed the patient while being moved. As a Paramedic for 25 years I never saw it make a injury worse.

So sad. A life taken at a young age. Sympathies to the families involved.
Normally I try to stay natural in my comments, but everyone criticizing the mother without knowing the whole story. Please stop and be respectful the mother was a friend.
I know it's easy to jump to conclusions based on what has initially been reported but for the sake of her loved ones please wait for the final investigation is completed. It seems she might have been okay if she had just stayed off the road and came to a stop in the grass. Then gotten her bearings and back on the road.
