Hi Juliet your review on the T - Cross was outstanding to the point going forward i purchased the standard spec comfortline which was better value hence you still had your luxuries touch screen cruize control instrument cluster & so many more as standard the DSG gear box is absolutely smooth in fact the gear drives in a higher gear which saves fuel as you know the GTI with this DIRECT SHIFT GEAR i must compliment VW Hatfield RIVONIA DEALERSHIP i actually wanted a demo model in pure white as the car is more visible at nignt after negotiation with the executive new car sales man they even gave me a discount as majority i paid cash the discount was over seventeen thousand rand to composite for the demo to me the stop start is ideal if you in heavy trafffic , as we know the load shedding is on going so yes even if it has slow pull off after the engine has fired again( start ) dont worry the car behind you needs to keep there distance to bumping into the rear or if there is a bump as we all know the other party pays if any damage overall the car is fantastic value for money on what you get as standard
The stop start system atleast you can turn off. I got one with the normal key I was cautious with the start button issues. Never had issues with the t cross. If you drive spirited alot it wears out the brakes real quick I was shocked. But otherwise really good car efficient strong brakes. Engine Heats up quick. And has a perfect balance to weight ratio. It's not top heavy like other small cross overs
Hi Juliet. Great review and agree completely with your notes, so thanks for the video! You aren't the only one experiencing the jamming start issue as you have explained, so its not you! :-D I am having the exact same issue and have been into the VW dealership multiple times as no errors were picked up on the system. After VW ran remote tests on my car they came to the conclusion that it was a faulty ECU, which they have now replaced under warranty for a wopping R30k! Turns out however that this was not what was causing the issue, as it has started happening again. :-( Did you by any chance receive any further feedback from VW on this issue? I would also just like to add that the fuel economy should be much better on this car as it is advertised as a combined 4.9l/100km, which being a 40l should get you around 670km mileage, which is not the case. I am lucky to even get 500km, and thats driving conservatively. I had the Polo TDI before this vehicle, and that would go for miles! Granted, it was a bigger tank at 45l, but still..
Hi Juliet Kindly note the VW T - cross entry level is actually is the Comfortline with 70KW manual gear box so there is no trend line if you view the specifications from the brochure no trend line is mentioned i think the trend line is for Polo & Golf that is not SUV can you confirm this with me
Hi Juliet your review on the HYUNDAI VENUE good some say what venue like is this a wedding venue jokes aside the Venue comes in at 88KW & 192NM of torque whereas the VW T - Cross is 85KW & 200NM of torque do you now if the venue also has S SPORTS gear & TIPTRONIC like the VW T - Cross DSG ( DIRECT SHIFT GEARBOX ) OTHERS CALL IT dual clutch which is the incorrect abbreviation?
Im not impressed by these cars at all..manufacturers are charging consumers more cash for less car and some sales gimmicks, with a efficiency/economical spin and its not the case..7l to 100km for a 1.0 turbo is not great at all..ive driven the ford ecosport too and the economy is not great either, if you consider in my daily driver a ford fiesta st..which has a 1.6 with nearly twice the punch, i have the same fuel consumption..same can be said for the polo gti..then there is the price point..are they flippen crazy!!..R330k to well over 400k and not hard at all to find models going for close to 500k is madness for this vehicle..cheap plastics,cloth seats some alloys and a few pretty little screens?????
The T Cross looks great on the outside, but interior has too much cost cutting. There’s no soft touch plastics, the heater dials aren’t that well dampened, the light dial doesn’t have any chrome effect on it and the vanity mirror doesn’t have a light.

Hi Juliet Kindly note you mentioned the Hyundai Creta which is actually a midsize SUV You should mention that the Hyundai Venue is like the T - Cross small SUV segment
The Creta is actually considered a compact SUV. The SUV segment is so jam-packed with different sizes now it is quite tricky to put them into a category. Especially if you then have to consider price. But the Grand Creta would probably be your mid-size SUV even though it is merely a stretched Creta. See what I mean about tricky ha ha
I love the car, I think its going to be an excellent seller. But it was released too soon. It looks like there a few bugs they need to work out, and to not have stock of oem parts is crazy. Personally I would still rather get the Kia Seltos. Kia is really proving to be a force to be reckoned with. Perhaps you should start doing comparisons in your videos, that would be great to see, side by side.
My colleague got one a few months and it’s already off the road for two weeks because he hit a bad pothole, destroyed two tires and there are no OEM tyres in SA!!?🤣
Just been through the process of looking at this segment as i need a new car. Lovely car but grossly overpriced and under speced. The options are horrendously expensive as well. VW quality is slipping too. They can no longer justify the prices when the competing cars are of a close standard.
It's because the steering wheel is turned to the left. It's a feature on the car so the direction in which you are turning to is lit up more (cornering function).

Biased review: for example: 'great feature, the backseat can shift back!' Yeah from the footage I can see that that edge of the backseat is very close to the back of the front seats which implies that there is not enough legroom unless you sacrifice your boot space. You also should have mentioned that there a lot of compact SUVs on the market for a lot less.
Most of the SAs motor journalists are biased towards VW and TOYOTA...they just don't have enough guts to utter the truth as they know even if they complain about these products, people would still buy them so there is no point in proving yourself wrong...rather stay with the bias...you listed big issues in the car yet you recommended it 😉....just a little more spine and you stand taller than others Juliet..

I had the engine start issue. You need to hold the start button for a few seconds rather than a quick press.
