I’ve ordered one, had a good test drive and the negative elements of the cockpit trim weren’t as bad as I’d expected. My current car is a Golf GT, I was concerned about the power difference, however recognising there is a difference it wasn’t anywhere near as bad as what I’d expected. I think this vehicle is pitched at a certain market of which at my age I must fall into. I needed a practical, relatively cheap quality car and this fits the bill. My wife would have liked the DSG auto as in my Golf but at only 6000 miles a year it’s a no brainer at £1500 additional cost. We will have to get used to a stick change again. It drives very well, exactly as previewed. Thanks for the vid it’s helped me narrow my options. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

One major issue that everyone seems to miss including VW conveniently, is that the T cross only has 40 litre fuel tank capacity. That's a smaller tank than some smaller cars. Meaning filling up more often and less range of miles. It's a major flaw and vw doesn't even mention it on its brochure.
But it's less likely to be a problem for the sort of journeys 90% of T Cross's will be used for. If you do lots of longer journeys, you probably wouldn't buy a T Cross anyway.....

Nice car but the colour scheme is dreadful makes it look like a Suzuki vitara. Also skoda's kamig will soon be out and its bound to be bigger and better value for money.

Bought the T-roc. Not pleased. Two factory recalls. Can't disengage Auto start-stop. The upgrades and extras cost the world. Paint is one micron thick so you could scratch it by looking at it.

My god, that hollow sound when you tapped the doors and dash. Nope, no quality there at all. Just thrown out for the masses cos they can't stop lapping these things up. I'll stick to the better quality VW cars.

Like the lovely lady, don't like the cars interior quality.
Far too much nasty exterior plastic embellishments thus difficult to keep looking good. As for the interior, enough said - a metallic nightmare.
I mean, its the same as the Arona basically, but more expensive? If you buy the VW over the SEAT then its just for the badge.

Do you know whether with me, my wife and three high school youngsters and the boot full of luggage the 1.0 115 TSI with manual 6 speed gearbox would be adequate for motorways?
Also engine weatherstrip where windshield wipers are, looks too narrow at the sides, are there adequate sink holes there to avoid water ingress in the engine bay?
Your highschoolers will be cramped in the back. Question is how often do you all travel together. Is one of the kids leaving home soon? Two adults fit in the back more than fine.

After the diesel gate scandal, I’m no longer interested in investing my money in a company that put the environment at stake just for the sake of money. Sorry, this was a really nicely done review (as always) but I have fostered a grudge against VW (group). Good to see you after a break, Rebecca.

Sorry to ask but what did they do?
debbie peter : They created a cheat device that bypassed the emission norms in almost every country of the world. And it was folks at Audi that designed the device. VW group has faced a heavy penalty across the world primarily in The US and Europe where emission norms are stringent. Look up Diesel gate scandal on Google.

debbie peter : Well, as of now, they have fixed the issue but that has left me a grudge against them. Who knows they might come up with another more improved and undetectable cheat device in the future. To be noted, as the name said - Diesel Gate, this scandal is primarily related to 3.0L and above capacity Diesel engines from VW group (incl. Audi, Bentley, Porsche, Lamborghini, etc.But none of the luxury subsidiary were actually affected by this scandal. Seems like the cheat device was meant only for the VW cars/SUVs)
The thing is, today when we are concerned about the climate change (except for Trump who thinks it’s a hoax) and shifting to greener and sustainable source of energy to fuel the automobile industry, it is expected of each one of us to shift to gas to hybrid to EVs. Sure, hybrids and EVs are pretty expensive given they are very new technology and need some more time for acceptance into the industry but it’s the need of the hour today and we have to make an inception some day. We should have started shifting towards hybrids and EVs like two decades ago to have a gradual transition instead of such a rush that only made the situation in a panic state. We didn’t do then and hence have to do it now, be it in chaos and anarchy.
