I have unfortunately bought this car and I have a lot of regret. The built quality is terrible. I've had to take it back to the dealership 3 times within a month of buying it. The wireless android auto doesn't work half the time. The absence of cup holders is a disaster (I've spilled my coffee a couple of times already). The driver's side window doesn't go down completely (I was told that's how the car is made and I must accept it). I've had gear issues. Poor paint job on the bonnet. No light in the boot. I can't fit a tow bar on it for my bike rack. The not unlocking thing is very annoying. The only good thing is the fuel efficiency
Are you in India ? Even in Europe, Renault car's are not the best class quality of the market. This is high volume production with a "cost killer" at many level of the car builting just like Carlos Ghosn wanted to be. Rather cheap cars but not great quality...

@@OraM2comp Wrong. Renault Capture is direct comparison to Kia Sonet in terms of size, engine, etc. Capture outsmart Sonet by far. I've test driven both from one dealer. Sonet seriously overated.

Juliette, at 3:15 you mentioned the interior and that the plastics are not great. Well, that is the truth. HOWEVER, it is interesting that in your review of the Nissan Magnite at 1:57 - 2:31 in that video review (which is in the same price range, same vehicle type etc) you mention that the interior plastics in the Magnite are also not great but then you go on to mention that it is not really a big deal at all because I mean, who touches the dashboard anyway? (which I agree with btw) but I noted that difference. You put (essentially) the same thing in a more positive light for the Magnite than you did with the Renault. But yes, the plastics are not of great quality. I am of the opinion that (depending on the price point of course) some of these "shortcuts" where they do not impact too much on the experience, can be considered reasonable. And on the Sonet, while I have not driven it, looks really great. I think also to bear in mind when comparing these vehicles are the different models. The Kiger Zen turbo manual is 40K cheaper and has the same engine and is nearly entirely the same as the top spec, bar the alloys and the sport mode, fog lights and a few minor cosmetic differences. Then when comparing it to the Sonet in that regard, it kind of warps things because of the price differential. Thanks for the great reviews and keep up the great work!

Juliette, the lack of cupholders is actually a very special achievement by Renault. In the greater scheme of things, it should not be an absolute deal breaker but it is weird. Did you notice how awkward the seatbelt clips in the front are, they're positioned tightly between the seat and the centre console. I thought you might have mentioned it. Also the lack of any sort of lighting in the boot compartment. Yes, it the interior build quality could be better but it is not terrible, considering the price point and the necessity to save on costs somewhere and having a plasticky interior is not a deal breaker for me, so long as it is not a datsun go or Toyota etios type plasticky interior. The crucial part in this regard and I think, is that the fine points, the finishes which one utilises (and touches most often), perhaps the touch points if I can say, are in decent nick. Like the control dials and buttons are of an acceptable quality. Cabin confort is generally fine and legroom is good. Storage compartments all-round but particularly in the front (apart from the lack of front cupholder abomination/horror) are actually quite abundant. The centre storage console is deep and the storage compartment at the passenger side is deep too. The drive is okay, middding. It handles capably enough for what it is but of course, for what it is, people can't expect to fly around corners with it either. The different driving modes are interesting but the eco mode tortures the cars output to the point of strangulation. I think it is worth mentioning the fuel economy, which is impressive and is surely, these days, crucially important. The turbo model is a no brainer, when considering that this vehicle is only available with a 1 litre engine. You will comfortably get below 7 litres per 100km for combined cycle, possibly closer to 6l per 100km and it can be better or worse. The exterior styling is ace, that's however subjective.
@@wack202able thanks for the comment. I'm simply mentioning some details which I thought may be worth noting and not to throw shade as I enjoy all of Juliette's reviews. I just think that it really matters what model you're reviewing too and in this case Juliette reviewed the top spec cvt model going for R289 900 whereas I know that for R249 900 the turbo zen model is 90% similar in terms of specs, making the plasticky interior less of an issue. That's my opinion. Fuel economy is also great. Some irritating oversights though too, from Renault. Reviews are somewhat subjective. I could review a vehicle tomorrow and leave out a ton of stuff too, especially if there are perhaps time constraints involved in creating these videos but I usually tend to notice a lot of details quite quickly.
That reaction @ 2:42 "...when last...!!!" priceless 🤣🤣🤣 I hope Renault get to see that, & they'll be like 'oops'. That lock function is outright a design flaw, child-lock with a twist 😂 locking the driver this time...
My dad once drove around with my brother in law in a rented KWID and commented that the ride was as crap as a 1972 Datsun 1500. And he has MANY cars under his belt. MANY MANY!!I hope this is not as crap as that.
i must add , those shape of door unlocking knobs , with the holes in them , just makes it easier to get a wire coat hanger or similar hook thru it to unlock , faster for thieves to steal your stuff. you had me at cupholders. my daily driving daihatsu has cupholders in each door , two in front of gear lever , two behind the handbrake. it also has a light in the boot and no exposed wiring.
Yours is indeed not an honest review. You seem to have chosen to review Kiger with an already negative mindset, may be due to its name that resembles "Tiger". It would however, have made more sense, had you been unbiased and then pointed out the flaws. And it is definitely not a fat version of Kwid. That said, there was something really interesting in the way you said things.
The cheerful Juliet is more fun, the car is cheap so It would fail Juliet's expectations, Juliet is higher maintenance than a cheap car 🚗, a dacia sondero would be Juliet's idea of hell! much love Juliet!👍❤️🇬🇧
Actually if you have been following Juliet for a while you will notice that She actually does like a good value for money car, the Kiger has way too many corners that were cut, go test drive one, its not a good use of materials. The Nissan Magnite its based on is actually made a bit better but also has a bit of an issue with materials. The market for this car is there but it cant look pretty on the outside but not carry the same feel on the inside. And yes plastics are going to be there but not that harsh. Her review of a Sandero is actually not bad. th-cam.com/video/xhr3ywu0t50/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for such a full answer, the attention is gratefully received, Not every subscriber has been subcribed for many years, south African cars are a mystery in the u.k👍🇬🇧❤️ much love
The Kiger is excellent value for money, in my opinion. However I got the mid-spec model for 40K less and which doesn't have a lot of differences to the top spec model, so that's why I will remark that it is great value for money. At 290K I can more understand where Juliette is coming from however. That's why I did my research before buying and the negative aspects aren't deal breakers. The lack of cupholders is weird and quite frankly a ridiculous omission but overall, for 250K for the turbo Zen, I have few complaints.
Not my first time hearing a negative review... It looks nice on the outside and is very spacious and has a big boot but seems cheaply made inside... So I will no longer be considering it.. Looking into buying Kia sonet or Hyundai venue or Chery tiggo 4 pro or Haval jolion..
There are clearly Renaults and Renaults. Renault should do the right thing and rebrand the cheaper models (Kwid, Sandero, Triber, Kiger, Duster) as Dacias while keeping the Renault name for the more expensive models (Clio, Megane, Koleos, etc.) just like Nissan did with Datsun. (By the way, when are we getting the new Clio? The current one has been on the market longer than the Citi Golf...) And I agree with you on the door locking mechanism - I last did that in my Mazda 323...

I feel like you would've been a better reviewer than her I hear nothing but positivity from you
@@wack202able thanks for the comment.
This is a much better review than the video
that door lock thing is absolutely not good for our notorious country.
They won't get anywhere with this car don't be fooled by this knobs
😂😂😂 Juliet spitting bars "aah the kiger like tiger"
That door lock button is designed to be opened with a coat hanger.
"It costs probably R4 to put in a piece of plastic" 😂
lol no ways, this car is way better than the urban cruiser. from the
on set
Love your honesty!!!! 😊keep up the great work.
Why do the carpets inside it look like it was cut and fitted by Barney the Dinosaur 🦖 messy!
R290 000 is really not a budget price bracket for me. Especially not if its being powered by a one litre engine
That's for the top of the range though.
The intens is a 1litre turbo engen
That reaction @ 2:42 "...when last...!!!" priceless 🤣🤣🤣
I hope Renault get to see that, & they'll be like 'oops'. That lock function is outright a design flaw, child-lock with a twist 😂 locking the driver this time...
after driving a few cars in the segment, this review is highly biased if you look at things you dont mind on cars in the same segment...
My dad once drove around with my brother in law in a rented KWID and commented that the ride was as crap as a 1972 Datsun 1500. And he has MANY cars under his belt. MANY MANY!!I hope this is not as crap as that.
This vehicles is nothing like the kwid. The front styling is fairly reminiscent of the kwid but that is where all similarities begin and end.
It's a terrible review, this car is absolutely nothing like a Kwid infact it's great
i must add , those shape of door unlocking knobs , with the holes in them , just makes it easier to get a wire coat hanger or similar hook thru it to unlock , faster for thieves to steal your stuff. you had me at cupholders. my daily driving daihatsu has cupholders in each door , two in front of gear lever , two behind the handbrake. it also has a light in the boot and no exposed wiring.
You also hate xuv300 and went on and buy it since 2021 and I'm enjoying that one..
yea yea we got it you know how to sing now you do your duty and do test....ah you forgot
I think we can all appreciate how honest you are
Appreciate the honestly pop
Basically ur review is zero.. She knows nothing about cars..all her facts are topsy tervy..
Any engine noise under the cabin hoom hoom while driving ???? Reply me please sister
Worst car journalist out there
So today i passed by the iconic parking and took pictures
Here in india people are going gaga over it and the main issue is its underpowered 999cc for a SUVmy hyundai i10 hatchback is 1200cc.
@Juliet When are you doing Chery Tiggo 4 review
I've been waiting
I hear you on the door locks - they're like from 1997 (like push a wire through the door rubber 1997)
You are souf african ,you must like Toyota and hate Renault's
Nice review. When you going to test the Haval H6
Man… quite harsh dude!!
Oh man the lack of cupholders 😢
I'd rather get that new Chery Tiggo 4 Pro instead of this. 🤦🏾♂️
Absolutely!
My dear there’s a unlock button there 😂
Not my first time hearing a negative review... It looks nice on the outside and is very spacious and has a big boot but seems cheaply made inside... So I will no longer be considering it..
Looking into buying Kia sonet or Hyundai venue or Chery tiggo 4 pro or Haval jolion..
The pigeons having fun 😂😂
It is not widely promoted in India
Yerrrrrrr, is it not just this test unit that looks dodgy?
It is better to buy a second hand car than to buy such cars.
1:18
We get wireless charging in India in kiger
How does it sound when putting pressure on the accelerator
Yes, it may be a budget car, but that carpet issue at 3:23 is still unforgivable! I mean how much are they REALLY saving by not finishing that bit?! Anyways, I don't think you were too critical at all! If anything it shows us that you are honest, are not afraid to call out the manufacturers (brave in this industry but HIGHLY respectable), and that you won't take bribes! Although Terence with Kia... hmmmm... that explains that I guess ;)! Joking obviously joking! Great video! :D
Thanks for your honesty
Jeez you make this car sound so kuk. 😔 We need to change from a Toyota Corolla quest to a more fuel efficient, decent car. Any ideas?
Omg please don't quit your day job
"I'm so lazy I'm such a Diva" 🤣🤣
Maan I actually thought kiger was a nice car, I'm confused now....
Renault Kiger = Renault Captur 2 with Dacia Spring/Duster style... Because Renault Kwid = DACIA SPRING
FRONX ALL THE WAY GUYS❤❤❤❤
Suzuki's are rust buckets, especially the ones from India.
Oi we were about to look at one tomorrow for my daughter now its not happening after this review.
Wow thanks for this review I won't be buying this anymore. Haval Jolion here I come 😊😄
A car that has only recently been safety tested 😂😂😂
She really hates Renault yhea?
The cringe in this video
But this car has wireless charging and cup holders
There are no cupholders in the front. An aftermarket alternative would need to be purchased.
Yho! Juliet you really hate this car and it's sibling Kwid.. but I agree quality is questionable,I only like the instrument cluster of Kiger, I wish Nissan Magnate had the same...
Kigarrrr like Tigaaar 😂😆😆
i dunno if its available in sa but try the mahindra scorpioN. i am planning to buy it.
sonnet is a shit car. in india that model has got such a bad rep. they discontinued it. the built quality of sonnet is questionable.
My brother bought it 😞. Btw why isn’t Tata launching cars in SA . Would love to hear ur review on Tata harrier . Haha
😂 Thanks for the honest review Juliet I was about to request quotation for the car🤦🏽
This vs Magnite?
I drive a Magnite,it has wireless charging,cruise control,traction control..these are some of the things kiger doesn't have.
Those wheels look comically small on that car when i saw the sideview
They're 16 inch wheels. Look fine imo however that's subjective of course.
Alert.. Karen's reviews.. Alert
Felt like someone handed a smartphone to a octogenarian 🤐
2:25 doesn't know there's Central lock unlock button right next to the hazard light button and cries when using the non user way.
Goes on to Crib on features she didn't choose but are available like wireless charger and cup holders.. heck it's got Central arm rest and cup holder even for the passenger and Karen is complaining on one for driver..
Rest all are opinions.. rest view like a spectacle... give us a break...
Goes on to Compares to cars outside the budget segment!
Actual review inputs i got from REAL reviewers as below
1) Sound proofing sub par in cabin
2) AC lags behind when you start on a sunny day
3) Shockers arent Renault befitting
4) It is VALUE FOR MONEY !!!
Crap review..
Honest review and I loved it. Looks good outside but I knew from the launch that something is not right about this car. Anyway Renault cars are not for me
Best review ever😂
Wonder you could blame French for this.
Kadjar much better and build quality to match.😊
kadjar cost a couple of thousands more
5:07 LOL Is anyone a Kwid Fan?
If I had to choose between a Kwid or a DDT (Datsun's Death Trap) I'd take a Bajaj Qute.
Here's Auto Trader's review of the Qute for reference ---> th-cam.com/video/ua-wivhvxT8/w-d-xo.html
Ah finally! And now I’m hella disappointed. Definitely keeping the ‘urban brezza’ on my list! And ONLY not going for the sonet because it doesn’t have split rear seats… tsk
Try the Suzuki Breeza ...same car as Toyota but less likely to be stolen in 🇿🇦
My advice?
Test drive all of them and read through and research all the nuances of these vehicles and try to best align your potential purchase, in line with your budget and your needs.
Thanks for a great review I agree it’s a crap car
This and the kwid are absolutely vile things
