    I got mine about a month ago, and I have to say that this is probably one of the best knives I've ever used. It is absolutely amazing. Great knife.
    Fantastic video Brian. Thank you for sharing this us.

    Love my silent hero 4. Very comfortable in hand. 1095 steel is tough and takes a heck of an edge. Don't know if it's differentially treated, but isn't chippy at the edge. Perfect size and easily concealable tool.

    This is the third video I have watched on the newly released Tops Silent Hero 4 knife and Brian this the most comprehensive review, well done sir!
    I have two of the original Silent Hero knives - not just to support the anti-poaching units, but because it is a great design.
    I received my Silent Hero 4 last week from the Knife Connection and is a really nice EDC/backup knife.
    One thing to know is that Tops does not put sharp 90-degree spines alot of their knives and the Silent Hero and Silent Hero 4 knives don't come with sharp spines, but my Worksharp fixed that!!

    Brian, thanks once again for a great review. I say baton away! I own many Tops Knives including the full-size Silent Hero. Tops Knives are "Top" quality, and I like that they are made in the USA. I had been anticipating the release of the Silent Hero 4 from the time that they announced it. I have not purchased the Silent Hero 4 because I have a couple of hangups over the knife. First of all, let me say that it is a very good-looking blade and the blade geometry looks great. My hangup with the knife is that the blade stock is too thin. My other hangup is that the sheath comes as side carry only. I guess that I am getting pickier in my old age but I am disappointed in this knife. Maybe someone from Tops will read this. Thank you and God bless.

      @powersww1reset 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was specifically designed to have that thin slicier blade. That was one of the primary reasons that this knife exists. It’s really the only reason that I bought it. I wouldn’t see the point in having a 4 inch blade with 3/16” stock. But I agree with you, about the scout carry, being the method, right out of the box. Although I like it and use it, as is, there should have been a belt clip and/or a dangler supplied, to complete the whole package. Kind of silly, assuming that everyone would be okay with the scout carry style

    I have a TOPS Camp Creek in S35VN..... Nessmuk style blade :) The Kydex & leather dangler sheath is so good. Sweet camp, backpacking, skinning, filet, multi purpose blade. And a steal at the $150 I got it for! :)

    Brian, I am sorry that you still have the need to defend yourself against the antibattoning crowd but be patient with them. I used to be one of them but thanks to you and others, I finally got why it is such a valuble test. Quite frankly I nolonger will go out with any knife which I thought battoning might damage it. I still believe that an ax or hatcher is a better wood splitter but it's reassuringly to know that my knife can do it without damage if I have to use it that way. Thanks

      I own several Tops knives. Bought my SH4 from Chicago Knifeworks, which currently has them in stock. I wasn't too enthused about the beta loops until I put the knife in my front pants pocket.Unless you are wearing baggy pants, the beta loops will hold sheath in place for a quick deployment. Because the handle partially sticks out, it's not considered to be carry coneal in my state.

    I've been looking at this blade or the tex creek xl. Im always so shocked that well known knivd companies don't take suggestions and just add these things like a sharp spine and make sure its always a part of a great knife. Thanks for the video now im torn on which one to get 😆lol

    I always ask myself, what's the difference between any particular knife of the same approximate size such as a four inch knife when compared to any other four inch knife? After you decide on which blade steel you want, you just fine tune it to your likes. In the end, we still gotta have one of just about everything.

    Could you recommend a good budget light for an ar

    • @SurvivalOnPurpose
      @SurvivalOnPurpose  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly, I only use Surefire lights when it comes to something my life may depend on. And they are not low budget but they are built to last. So I can't, in good conscience, recommend something I wouldn't use myself.

    • @MDR-hn2yz
      @MDR-hn2yz 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Save your money and by something decent. Pinching pennies on this kind of gear will give you poor results.
      How much was your AR? Probably a minimum of grand out the door? A decent light for an AR will probably start at 100-150 bucks.
      You can’t go wrong with a SureFire or Streamlight.

    I have the full size Silent Hero and I love it but I don't think it does a good job at chopping, I got some dings in my blade the first time I chopped with it. I have the CUTS 4.0 for a scout carry/EDC.

    I've had my arms and hands wounded in 2 different cases, where I tried to free animals after they where traped their legs in wire and fishing line.
    The last time was 5 days ago, where I tried to free my cut, from a nasty fishline trap it had made for itself while playing with a spool full of fishing line. It was one of the very rare times, that I didn't have a knife on my. So I tried to cut the line with my hands.. I both hurt my self while trying to cut it, as also the cat attacked my arm and used everything it had, to eat me alive, literally. Wounds still hurt, my arm and my hand is full of wounds like scratches and deep bites. The last bite it gave me, it locked it's mouth and didn't open it, until I managed to cut the line and free the cat.
    It was my birthday, but I will never leave my knife out of my belt again. It was the second time, I had this experience. Lessons learned,It won't be 3d one.

      I've seen a cat do that before it's not a fun experience..Angry cats honestly freak me out more than angry dogs. I'd rather fight off a mad dog than a crazed cat any day.
      I always take a blade with me even if I'm just taking my dogs for a quick nightly potty break .

      who cares if a knife rust doesn't ruin it and if it needs to be cleaned it's easy. plus not using it may be the reason it rust in the 1st place lol
