I like big knives . The first knife I spent over $100 on was a Cold Steel Trailmaster when they first made them . The last one I bought was a Randall model 12 , that one was $1100 ! Get what you want you only go around once , life is short and you're going to have regrets don't let the small stuff get in the way .

The msk1 is #1 in my collection as well. Its one of the few that manages to be tough as a brick, an excellent chopper, but with a thin enough grind to still be a good carver. Not many others can say that!

Bryan, excellent video as always. The missing one could possibly be your recently aquired Randall. That is my pick. Im going to a gun and knife show on the 17th looking for a Randall # 1 if I can find one. I'm not much into multi tools but i found a Leatherman Surge in new condition at a pawn shop last week. Regular price is @ $179. I paid $40 with the pouch and extra tools in the pouch. Found a nice Jim Bowie designed Bowie at one last year . Those who don't like the expensive prices don't know how to shop. Stay safe

I’m a big fan of Ethan Becker and all of his knives , grand kids use n abuse the 14 and the 24 ( hey why not) , I keep picking up the bk 2 and 5 for camping chores.. different versions of the bk 3 in all vehicles. ( along with a fire extinguisher ). Most beckers are well worn camillus n blackjack manufacture. They are a little thicker. Keep up the great work !
The question of price is often just a matter of what are you getting for your money? People get upset when they perceive that the knife (system) is not worth the asking price. There are plenty of (pocket) knives that cost even more that are often collector's items made of rare materials rather than EDC type tools. No need to get upset, I just don't buy them and move on to other things.
Great collection of functional and collectable knives. You hit it on the head about people that complain about the prices of knives, firearms, motorcycles, etc... they are miserable people.
If i ever hear about Jess X again, it will be too soon. I scored 2 of those schrades last year. Complete with the screw drivers. They are nice Thats an excellent line up

Your fave the TOPS Tahoma, is very similar (if you ask me) to the imitation cheaper copy of the UK Army MOD Survival Knife, a big chopper, and some people tested the imitation chopper and said it was lighter so performed better. This copy of the MOD represents some of the greatest value out there

Not a Schrade. Think much bigger. But if I could put my hands on my Camp 10 it would probably have made the list. That thing is just a really handy blade.

In fairness I am a strong advocate of pairing a big honker with a 5-6 incher and a folding saw. Oh yeah, I've had a WS Field Sharpener for must be near on 10 years, mighty hard to beat out in the sticks.

I did, however, get in on the Bark River Jonburnaxe (now called the JBA) when it was being developed, and have my JBA Prototype in my main go-bag. I’ve talked to Jon Heffron a few times (mostly through texts) when he did his video review of the Prather War Bowie, which is my edc. Definitely a man of integrity. I tried to get him to come to Tucson to take the Bowie Seminar with me and Mumma Bear. Couldn’t get the same weeks off.
Love your stuff, but I think you are mistaken about the saber grind. The saber grind can be had in hollow grind, convex grind & flat grind. Hope this helps.
We're probably talking about 2 different things. When I say "saber grind" I'm talking about a specific type of grind on any blade, as opposed to the type of grind on a saber (which could absolutely be any of the grinds you mentioned.) Specifically a "saber grind" is a medium to high primary bevel which is flat (neither concave or convex) with a secondary edge bevel. The most common types of grinds in use today are: flat grind, hollow grind, convex grind, Scandi grind & saber grind. Sorry for any confusion.

I bought a Spyderco Respect Bowie, designed by Sal and made in Golden, CO. It’s a beauty of a knife, with a great leather sheath, and a nice 21st century version of the knife made famous by Jim Bowie. I don’t use it at all. I just hold it and wipe it down once or twice a year 😆. What’s your favorite knife you won’t use?

I have the Becker BK 7. unless they did a total overhaul of the sheath, and i know they didn't from looking at the sheath for the 9, so you calling it a "really nice, solid sheath" and i'm calling bullshit. the sheath for the becker BK 7 sucks. the sheath for the BK 9 looks the same. its a shit sheath.

I put about 6 ranger bands around the handle of my bk9.... absolute money!! Its like it sticks to my hand without actually being sticky😂

You can do almost everything with a big knife that you can with a small knife but the reverse is not true.

You should try a Tops Silent Hero and an ESEE 5. Two of my all time favorite “big knives”.

I don't have a Skullcrusher, the one I reviewed was a loaner. And the only WInkler I have is a Dynamis from Dom Raso

I have the Becker BK 7. unless they did a total overhaul of the sheath, and i know they didn't from looking at the sheath for the 9, so you calling it a "really nice, solid sheath" and i'm calling bullshit.
the sheath for the becker BK 7 sucks. the sheath for the BK 9 looks the same. its a shit sheath.
