Not stretching is where I have always messed up and ended up having to cut it. I'm one of those people that embrace shrinkage, but I finally realize that it keeps setting back my length retention.
+Ashley “ashabooTV” Sullivan. We are in the same position. My hair grows fast and is a little between my shoulder blades but your words describes my hair. For the longest I didn't stretch. I loved wearing my hair in puffs or curly right out of the shower. Since I've been natural I have cut over 10 inches off due to single strand knots. After my last cut which was 2 months ago I started stretching my hair by keeping it in braids with my natural hair and let me tell you my hair has grown back faster than it did before and I have so much new growth in my roots. I also see less shedding when I comb. Keep yours stretched and you will see growth and health in your hair. Good luck to you :)
Janiya Gowdy. Really? I had no idea. I started doing that because I noticed I maintained length and my hair sheds less now. Before I wasn’t stretching and breakage was constant.
Marie Molina. I realize I’m late at responding. Never seen these messages lol. I would have my hair stretched and do light braiding, meaning not right to the scalp. Light and loose braids I’d 4-5 on my head and wear it for a few days.
shamonica stanfield just an update at the time I made this post I just had my last major hair cut (from armpit to neck length) for the last time after realizing what I had described above. I’m now healthily (same thickness from root to ends) past bra strap (5’7”) from no heat stretching. I pretty much just wear twist and braids occasionally with extensions. I still wash, condition, moisturize and trim regularly as if my hair was loose. My hair pattern is the same as it always was. No damage. This is the formula that works for me. Waist length here I come! Good luck on your journey as well
Imagine this as a tv show for young girls growing up. One thing is for sure. They wouldn't be in their 20's and 30's like us learning about our hair, or it could prevent a young girl and her mother from relaxing her hair. I love your channel and i see the knowledge and effort you put into your videos. I appreciate this channel so much. Thank you.
That's EXACTLY whats been happening to my hair. Wearing my hair in wash n go's and puff styles have been EATING at my ends with single strand knots. I wish i would have understood this earlier in the game. I just purchased some curlformers and have decided to do airdried rollersets and such to keep my hair stretched and matt free. Not sure how you did the animations in this vid, but it was awesome lol THANK YOU!
+Leydee Kashmariie yes ive noticed a difference already! My hair stays moisturized longer because its not in its thirsty kinky state and i dont get those annoying single strand knots anymore:) I stretched my hair with curlformers and have been creating styles out of that. I think ill keep my hair stretched more often since my goal is to retain length. Ill be making a video soon about how long my hair has grown since its been stretched. What issues do you have with your hair? Do you keep yours stretched now too?
+Portable Konfidence I keep it stretched especially after a wash. However, knots are still my enemy. So I must find the culprit. 😒😒 want to try these curl formers though.
+Portable Konfidence when my hair it wet I have an issue with elasticity. The strands that pull, stretch and then break. I'm unsure how to describe but it's like a weak stretch. It just seems like my hair is vulnerable.
+Leydee Kashmariie the youtube link didint show after i typed it sorry. The youtubers name is: 1mits1 and the video is called: understanding hair elasticity to lessen breakage
Mam...i need your help for my career in USA...CAN YOU PLEASE give me your whatsapp no or facebook id so that i can contact you...please mam...i need your help
I'm 10 and my kinky hair goes halfway down my back, because my mom never let's me straighten my hair or get extensions. I wear it is braids and twists. I'm planning on growing my hair much longer, but I must take care of it better than I do now!😝
+Morgan Fulford If your plan is to grow out your hair, and you're taking good care of it (not letting it get dry, protecting it, keeping you ends healthy) then wearing it out once in a while is completely okay.
Why you readin my name? Shrinkage is awful with 4c, my hair is an inch past armpit length and when I wash me hair it's ear length. Not to forget the tangles
I hate to stretch my hair because I am one who loves the shrinkage but I do and I've noticed that when I do, I don't have the single strand knots anymore and I have noticed less breakage within a 2 week period.
It makes sense. Because my sister keeps her hair stretched in protective styles, we now have the same hair length even though I’ve been growing out my hair for 3 years whereas she’s been doing so for 1 year ☹️
i often notice that when my hair is stretched i have less breakage than when my hair is in its natural state. thank you for this video it will help me in the future.
So true one time I left my hair shrunk for a few days and it was tangeled n everything I just washed my hair n did the heatless rollerset method my hair looks like it’s been blown out
Stretching your hair is definitely a useful tool. I have wavy/curly hair, ad stretching it overnight makes combing and brushing SO much easier even for me. I don't use heat when I straighten my hair. I put them into pigtails with elastics going down each tail. As it dries, it becomes straight.
I always felt so bad because I felt like I was not embracing my natural hair when it would shrink up, but seeing this made me feel so much better about my twistouts❤️
Thank you so much! I found this to be 100% true. I failed to retain length and density with the constant wash and gos as my strands are extremely fine , curly and fragile. Ever since ive start ed stretching my hair (plus monthly protein treatments and protective styling) my hair is the longest its ever been and so thick
Rachel curlylocks Same here! From my view of ancient hairstyles of ladies with long and thick hair it seemed to usually be stretched via braids, intricate styles, and mud/concoctions. A big tangled, knotted ball on top of one's head is no bueno. Once my hair got past shoulder length I could no longer do wash n go's, afro's, or long term styles due to the tangling. I am trying protein as well along with henna and threading for stretch. I also started washing my hair in braids and it has made my wash day soooo much easier! I've been able to grow it long but need to improve the thickness towards the ends.
@@Cattitude369 Yeah I started washing my hair in twists and WOOOWWW! I can't believe I didn't do it sooner. I don't dread wash days anymore. So much faster and easier to get to my scalp.
@@marie-nm9jo For a while I was wearing mostly buns and I twisted or braid the ends before tucking them into a bun. As of now I am experimenting with Chebe and keep my hair threaded with silk yarn. I plan to do this for the rest of the summer under wigs. I still wash in braids or twists and I also blowdry my hair if I plan to wear it out. Contrary to popular belief about heat damage blowdryers don't reach temps past like 180°f (they have temp regulators to prevent scalp/skin burn) and most heat damage comes from temps 320°f and up. I use the comb attachment from the ends up so it detangles better. During the cooler less humid months I plan to go back to buns and also do flat twists w/ satin roller curls on the ends. I will most likely refresh my hair every other day as that seems to be when my hair starts to shrink/tangle and I also invested in 100% silk pieces (wig cap, hair bonnet, pillow cases). I have been experimenting with making my own protein spritz and still use henna. Also, trimming ends as needed because raggedy ends make detangling an arduous task. So far so good! How has your journey been going?
It was about the same time you wrote that comment, that I went natural and I did the same thing..I didnt realizw how much braiding helps. My hair went from short neck length to my back! It was such a surprise especially since my hair grows supppppper sloow
When you were describing kinky hair and how it forms knots, you were preaching to the choir that I've been member of for 6years! I've been so depressed about my hair, it's lack of growth and the constant tangles/knots that have lead to me pulling out globs of hair trying to make it knot free... Whew! I can't braid or twist worth a darn so box braids(or any braid style) +castor oil here I come! Thank you for this super informative, professional, and interesting video!
+Green Beauty Channel ™ hello can u plz share ur view on how to leave hair while sleeping..whether to let it dwn or mk a braid... i have type I.. straight and v silky n also oily.
This makes a lot of sense considering the several points of 'weakness' at the bends along the curly hair strand. Knots will only make length retention even more difficult.
I'm a new subscriber. I've been watching your videos since 5:00 this morning. You are entertaining, informative, and you have a voice that's perfect for radio! Your channel is one of my new favorites! I have just recently started to embrace my natural 4c hair texture, so I couldn't have found your channel at a better time. Thank you!
Sole use of finger combing and keeping my hair in a stretched state (with braids) were critical steps in growing my hair to MBL - as usual your video is on point!
I have 4bc hair and I am a few inches from waist length. I recently gave myself a silk press and I’m loving how easy it has been to manage my hair. I realize that although I don’t want to use heat regularly, I am going to have to keep my hair stretched because it has become a lot to handle.
I silk press once a month and my hair has retained 5 inches in the past year (I’m also color treated with bleach) because I trim every as needed and barely have to detangle so less knots. Even when the press gets old, there are so many styling options. Anything in excess is bad but if you’re protecting the bonds of your hair with salon quality products and you don’t leave your hair completely naked, it’ll stay on your head.
I really love your videos, helps me soooooo much. I've avoided heat for the first 2 years of my natural hair journey. And all I got was breakages, and can't deal with my hair. A month ago after watching your video, I blow dried my hair the exact way you said to. And Omg, what an amazing differences. Thanks so much for educating me. I'm no longer afraid to deal with my hair
I style my hair is twists on wash day...I then bobby pin the individual twists (10-12 twists) stretching them around my head to create slight tension to the twists. I let them dry over night and in the morning I am left with stretched natural tresses that is full of body...
Gret video and tips. I don't wear my hair stretched and I retain length but keeping it up off my shoulders most of the time is the best I've found for my hair. I noticed my hair was getting caught on one of my dresses....I almost threw that dress out LOL
In india We have straight wavy hair mostly So We always wear braids One maybe two It's the best stretching Method for straight wavy hair Plus less tangles and hair breakage and loss
Great video and fantastic animation to help us "visual learners" understand the concepts even more. For the past year, I tried stretching (twist outs) and ended up with more knots. I realize that the problem may not have been stretching, but that I needed to stop trying to hold on to a style for more than 3 days. My hair likes water, so I do a water & oil refreshing session mid-week and re-twist. Also, getting a REALLY GOOD TRIM has made those knots disappear and my curls come alive! Thanks again for all your videos!!
Now it all makes sense, thank you. I have started to go natural completely since May 2015 (I've had an on and off relationship with having my hair natural since my sophomore year in high school) and when i stretch my hair it keeps my hair from shrinking and being stubborn to deal with as well as retaining length and I love it. Thank you for this informative video. I guess I'll continue stretching my hair - my hair could use the length.
You give so good advices, and I improve my English through your channel (my native language are Dioula and French). Thank you very much. I love you ! 💟
I've been doing twist outs and I noticed whenever I would Wash my hair it felt longer. I had no idea twist outs and braid outs were this beneficial in retaining length. I just want shoulder length hair when
Same here! I used to stretch my hair with heat and I noticed my hair would be super dry and it would still tangle at the ends and my ends felt brittle. Twists/twists and banding are the only way I stretch my hair now and detangling is a breeze
Great video! I'm glad that you discussed how heat can aid in length retention for dense tightly coiled hair. My hair would not be as long as it is if it wasn't for heat and stretching. I find that heat also helps my low porosity hair to better absorb oils and moisterizers.
I never wanted to watch a video on here as if it were a documentary until I got here today! I was terribly upset that it ended so soon. Where is part 2? What an amazing video. Very informative! Thank you so much.
Great video. I've noticed as my hair has gotten longer, keeping it in stretched styles has created stronger hair that is softer, and restains moisture ×100!!!
So many people post NaturoHairOlogy videos in an attempt to educate us on TH-cam but this one by far is the best one...only one that I have seen that is professional and so well put together. Superb A+ job!!!!!! Love what you do...keep doing you!!!! ✌
This is my first time watching your videos and they are great! I love the animations and the great detailed information. Very different and unique from alot of youtube videos. Keep up the good work!
Awesome vid! The animations are gorgeous! I love the twist/pin around head technique to stretch my hair. Thanks for the side note, it's all about each individual's goal when it comes to length retention.
Thanks for another great and always informative video! I have always dry my hair in twist or plaits. Last year I began to pin or band those plaits and twist! The stretch helps makes my styling easier. I have seen a reduction in single strand knots and tangles. I am trying to retain length, I do moisturize, seal, and protein as well. I am sure you have a video on moisturizing and protein so I will go over and check those out. Thank and blessings! stay authentically beautiful!
My hair is long, coarse, and thick right now, it has always been since a child.. My mother used to do my hair in stretch hair styles all the time, and braids(no extensions) where she didn't have to do it herself daily..
you sound so professional. i feel better hearing your explanations. im transitioning and its so hard and overwhelming but I need to hold on to the dream of natural hair. im just so tender headed.
Joy Willard hang in there!! Believe me it will pay off. I transitioned and cut little by little for two years. I'm so happy to say I'm 100% natural and absolutely love my natural hair!
where have you been. omg I discovered all this the hard way. I stretch my hair more and I have less single strand knots. I do more protein my hair stronger. I stopped co washing because my scalp was on fire! since I started shampooing more not a huge scalp problem. I wish I would have know about from the beginning. I love your channel
I remember that I braided my hair backwards, im not sure if that is stretching but that was what my hairdresser told me. She said it was not exactly the same but it helps to prevent damage and helps you grow out your hair healthy, I have pin straight asian hair. The braids actually helped me alot with growing out my hair, I didn't have to braid it every morning and loose alot of hair and I also realized how much I actually damage my hair sometimes, I haven't washed my hair in almost a month now ( I still have the braids in ) and I will take them out next friday and wear a moisture mask afterwards. Hope that it has grown
Hey, braids are a great protective style just make sure to wash your hair more often. Not washing your hair can cause bacteria to build up on your scalp and lead to inflammation, which can cause hair loss or make your hair grow out slower.
Thank you for giving us relevant information on natural hair. I'm tired of all these click bait natural hair videos claiming to help us grow our natural hair and all they do is babble on and on lthe structure of hair other than how to prevent breakage and simulate new growth. Just earned a new subbie 💕💕
You always give great information. I just did the BC for the second time. My hair is 2 inches long when wet but only 1 inch when dry. That's shrinkage. But I love my coils and shrinkage is part of my hair so I accept that along with it. Thanks for great videos.
I had to get this same info you are sharing through trial and error. Lesson learned came from when I wore wash n go styles. My hair tangled so much and the knots were so huge. I noticed when I wear braidouts I don't get as nearly the amount of knots vs when I wear a wash n go!!!! Thanks for your video. I knew my observation through trial and error was right. Thanks for the confirmation.
I don't think this is true at all. I have only ever stretched my hair once, and my growth has been fantastic. I don't think stretching makes your hair grow faster, it just appears longer because you've stretched your natural curls.
+Malika Silla Yes, I know. By that I meant: I don't believe that stretching your hair will always benefit your hair growth. The more your hair is properly taken care of the "faster" you will obtain length (which is obvious because it's not breaking off or having to be trimmed a lot).
Obviously if your hair doesn't break easily, you don't have to worry about stretching; we are all different. My hair is very fine, very curly without product (mostly 3C with some 3B and a little 4A), and high porosity so it breaks easily and stretches easily (all I have to do to keep my hair stretched is pull it back in a slick ponytail or some bantu knots overnight after washing my hair). Keeping my hair stretched most of the time (not all of the time) has definitely stopped my hair from breaking so much; therefore I retain more length. You are lucky if your hair doesn't break much but most kinky heads (no matter how kinky, a little or a lot) have issues with breakage. This is what she's talking about in the video.
Awesome video!! I just figured out that I should wear my hair stretched. My hair shrinks up about 50% so it looks like my hair is above my shoulders lol! But straight my hair is bra strap length. I just found your channel and I'm loving it!
I love this review but just a correction in the origin of Bantu knots. the Zulus are a tribe in Southern Africa and the Bantu people are people from Southern Africa mainly South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana
You are right 100% I am multitexture 3b-4a ALWAYS natural I love and embrace curls but I do stretch my curls once a week with no heat I like to go through my hair stretching it with my hands and my very favorite jbco, peppermint essential oil and water. I don't care if it gets freezy or huge I love it and it's helped me with split ends and fairy knots👍👍 you are amazing I love your channel 😄
Thank you! This really help me understand what I have been doing wrong for 3 years! OMG Light Blub for me LOL! When I see you post a VID I KNOW I am going to learn something new. This one was major and such a simple understanding. Naturals talk about stretching but I never connected my issues with not stretching. Night and Day difference. Thank you!!!
this is an excellent illustration. I am trying my best to figure out how to make my natural hair hang more. I was told not to wear it up as much and that will train it to start hanging. I cannot honestly say I am seeing a difference. help anyone that knows how to get my natural hair to start "dropping" and "hanging" . All comments are welcome. By the way I am following the pre-poo, co washing, washing 1x a month and lots of lco or loc...and moisture. I have also stretched my hair with threading, perm rods, and pinning my braids across one another at night. I just want my hair to start hanging more. please help
Another A* Video...I thought that keeping my hair stretched was helping the sebum to be able to travel the length of my strands. I find when my hair is in micro twists or braid it grows much quicker. Thx again for more information and your time
All your videos are very Informative. thank you.. I have been natural now for 6 months, and enjoy videos that are not only informative, very animated making it easy to understand.. keep it up...
Thank you for your very informative videos. I love using curl formers to stretch my hair but have been unable to keep my highly porous hair from turning into an Afro in a couple of hours. Do you have any suggestions on what products I might try to assist me in maintaining the smooth finish I get when I first remove the rollers? I currently use your hydrolyzed protein once a month and give myself a henna treatment monthly (approximately 2 weeks apart).
+Carla Rumph Hi there! I am not green beauty but I use curl formers to stretch my hair. Literally I use it as a base for any style I do. What products to use will depend on your hair porosity and some other characteristics. She has a 3 part video that discusses how to determine your hair porosity and how to care for it. BUT, I would suggest using your favorite leave in conditioner and a gel before putting in the curlformers. I personally love the gels from the brand Curls but really any holding gel that works for you hair should help. My hair also tends to expand in humidity. Depending on where you live and the weather, there will only be so much you can do. Embrace the big hair! Hope this helped!
This was what i was debating this topic with myself last week. I always question why must i stretch my hair? So this week after washing my hair i put my hair in mini twist and let it air dry on its own, is that bad. Wouldn't it be better if we didnt cause stress on our strands ? Idk can u answer this .😊
Mz Kegz definitely...who says we HAVE to stretch hair...why is is tightly coupled in the first place...we are going against nature really when we stretch. But each to their own.
Marcella Ferguson I hear what you are saying. But if I understood the video right. If we don't stretch, we honestly won't be able to do much with our hair, but keep cutting do to having so many knots. And then that defeats the purpose of having healthier hair. Or obtaining much length at all.
Cherale White But thats only if you have no sebum coverage. The strands are left unprotected and suspectible to knotting no matter what product you use, because they arent as moisture balancing as the sebum from our scalps. Thats why if you feel your roots and feel your ends, you will notice that your roots are constantly soft and moisturised even wihout product, while your ends are dry and brittle. Its because sebum is constantly covering your roots, while the ends are constantly being washed without replacing the sebum that was protecting it, making it knot up. If your whole hair has full sebum coverage, then there would be no need to stretch the hair to prevent knots, because the sebum will be doing that for us. Thats why we in the natural hair community need to stop using products that strip our strands of sebum, or we will forever be facing this conflicting dilemma of why our hair in a fully natural state is somehow not allowed to just be as it is. TLDR: Full sebum coverage= Stretching not necessary= Wash and go's and coiled styles for life.
Asmah Fibyl I think I get what your saying. So more sebum means no knots and less means more knots, correct? And also you are saying that regardless of a detangling product being used, if your hair has no sebum the hair will still knot? Cause they aren't like our natural sebum? Sorry if this is sounding remedial in the way I'm asking. As I'm truly trying to understand and learn more about this hair stuff. As so far in my experience with my own hair, either when it was relaxed and using products that likely stripped and did all kinds of other junk to my hair(before I educated myself more on what was harmful and what wasn't) back in the day. I never got any knots in my hair that I recall. Save for when I was trying to do my first twist and tuck when I was transitioning earlier this year(experienced the worst knotting of my life). And since I did the big chop/shave to bald 3 months ago. And switched up my old products for more natural options/a few with lesser bad ingredients in them. I still haven't really experienced any knotting or tangling so far. Also, only brittleness I've ever experienced with my hair was around my ears and the lower back portion of my hair when it was first coming back in from the shave. Scab hair I believe it was and that didn't last too long after consistently moisturizing and deep conditioning my hair. But yea, I just always thought that I didn't have any knotting(til that unfateful time of learning that particular style), was do to just having a looser curl pattern on the top and crown of my head. I think it might be different on my right to lower back half of my hair though. Which is somewhat curly but not as much as on the top and crown portions of my hair. So I was thinking that for sure those hairs would need stretching most of all to keep it from tangling the longer it grows out. But if I'm hearing/reading you correctly, no stretching is good and letting the hair stay more coiled in it's natural state is better?
Cherale White Usually, yes. That's correct. Though a detangling product will help minimize knots, its effect usually lasts for no more than 3 days before the hair begins to knot up again. So it has to be constantly applied, making natural hair care expensive and putting frustrated naturals off their own hair. Sebum, on the other hand, is free, is constantly being produced by the scalp, and its effect does not wear off on the hair. It can also work with certain products, meaning so long as the sebum isn't fully stripped, one can still use products on their hair. Relaxed hair is usually thin and straight, leaving no reason to knot up. Sparse hair also does not knot up easily. The strands are already chemically changed, so relaxed hair cannot be compared to natural hair. And I don't know about every experience, but most people I know who had relaxed hair (myself included) usually did it to do sew-ins, weaves etc (covering/protecting the relaxed hair), and if they were to wear the relaxed hair out (which was rare), it would be in one style: slicked down. Many naturals do not stick to one style, but experiment with many different styles, giving more opportunity for the unprotected hair to knot up. That's not a problem in itself, but with strands left unprotected, it can be problematic. Not everyone experiences knotting, but a large amount of complaints from naturals shows that this is a huge problem in the community. Truth be told, though stretching the hair may be a short-term fix for preventing knots, in the long term the hair will begin to lose its elasticity and curl pattern, and will thin out. Stretching is fine so long as its an occasional thing, but keeping hair in a constant stretched state will thin the hair in the long run. It is better if we just let our hair to coil up, which in and of itself protects the ends in a way that straight hair cannot achieve (which is why split ends is ridiculously common among straight hair, waaay more than textured hair), and the way to do that successfully is through full sebum coverage.

Natural85 keeps her hair stretched ALL THE TIME :)
Her hair is goals!!
Yes she does. I ♡ Whitney (Naptural85), she is also so informative and very professional.
Thanks for another great video GBC!
She wears wash and gos a lot more now.
+Nandi Lovely and she lost a lot of length from doing wash n go's all the time (and coloring and heat). #stretchedhairlife
MsFlamingFlamer she lost her length from cutting off color damage. She has ideas on the subject. :)
Try 22nd century woman her routine and hair is beautiful.
Me too
You look so much like the dude in game of thrones 😅
This was an awesome video. The illustrations were fabulous.
R Jones Thanks :-)
I always felt so bad because I felt like I was not embracing my natural hair when it would shrink up, but seeing this made me feel so much better about my twistouts❤️
I am that girl with her head full of fairyknots
i think each strand of hair i have has fairy knots and/or split ends, its very annoying
Flairelle you sure
No sis!! I am!! 😂 I swear I take the fairy knot crown!!!
@@DomingaShataun saaaaaame . ugh !
Fairy knot gang 🧚🏾♀️➰
MiAmoreNoir err
MagieNoir 💖💖 do you only do this every night or do you wear it every day?
OMG you're so thorough..I wana cry I'm so happy..I'm blessed to have found your channel
I’ve only watched 2 videos on this channel, and those 2 videos have done more for me than everyone else’s videos that I have been watching for years.
Right now I keeping my hair braided till 2017, I'm trying to grow my hair to shoulder length in it natural state.
barstarks me tooooo
barstarks. I kept my hair braided as well be careful and not leave them in to long
It was about the same time you wrote that comment, that I went natural and I did the same thing..I didnt realizw how much braiding helps. My hair went from short neck length to my back! It was such a surprise especially since my hair grows supppppper sloow
So did ot work? Its 2017😄
Update ? 😁
Shrinkage is real on curly hair too. 😩 Always stretching mine out.
Yeah mine too but at least we don't get the "fairy knots"
4c is curly hair
@@milkiekittie6659no, it’s kinky hair.
Try African threading! It's amazing for stretching the hair!
I will
I LOVE your videos and the animation is so on point!!
+BAP Jones Thank You
+Green Beauty Channel ™ hello can u plz share ur view on how to leave hair while sleeping..whether to let it dwn or mk a braid... i have type I.. straight and v silky n also oily.
Thank you!

Wow, this is why I keep getting those knots, very well explained, thank you!

I love your videos :-)
This is so true. I’m now on my 3rd big chop all because I didn’t stretch my hair as it grew longer. Lesson learned. Thanks for the great info
WHERE WERE YOU YEARS AGO??!! I would of had long, super flourishing hair by now had I seen your videos :( #bingewatchingnow
LuvlyUnknown That's the way to go !!!
Gret video and tips. I don't wear my hair stretched and I retain length but keeping it up off my shoulders most of the time is the best I've found for my hair. I noticed my hair was getting caught on one of my dresses....I almost threw that dress out LOL
+Fine Natural Hair and Faith Lol.
In india
We have straight wavy hair mostly
So
We always wear braids
One maybe two
It's the best stretching
Method for straight wavy hair
Plus less tangles and hair breakage and loss
Did I tell you how much I loooove your videos!? Well I'm telling you again...I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS! So educational!😙
+micarae Thank You :-)

Absolutely brilliant detail and great to know heat pressing is not the devil lol but is dependant on HOW to do it and how often. Thank you!

Love this, illustrations are awesome, thanks
I enjoy all of your videos. Thank you for putting in the extra footwork to inform not only naturals but all hair enthusiasts.
Do you still plan to put this video out hun 04:10?

Omg this was so well put together. All facts and inclusive of those who want to embrace shrinkage .
That's what was happening with my hair omg YOU SAVED MY LIFEEE THANKK YOUUUU
Great video. I've noticed as my hair has gotten longer, keeping it in stretched styles has created stronger hair that is softer, and restains moisture ×100!!!
So many people post NaturoHairOlogy videos in an attempt to educate us on TH-cam but this one by far is the best one...only one that I have seen that is professional and so well put together. Superb A+ job!!!!!! Love what you do...keep doing you!!!! ✌
This is my first time watching your videos and they are great! I love the animations and the great detailed information. Very different and unique from alot of youtube videos. Keep up the good work!
I love your videos. Easy to understand, informative and respectful.
Thank You 💚
Awesome vid! The animations are gorgeous! I love the twist/pin around head technique to stretch my hair. Thanks for the side note, it's all about each individual's goal when it comes to length retention.
This whole idea that natural hair needs to be worn stretched is new to me. Going to look more into this info! Thank you.

I love your videos, you have the best information. The animations are awesome.
wow i thought i knew the basics of taking care of my hair... this channel will add a whole new layer of knowledge..

Thanks for making this video GreenBeauty!
you sound so professional. i feel better hearing your explanations. im transitioning and its so hard and overwhelming but I need to hold on to the dream of natural hair. im just so tender headed.

this is beautiful and very informative
Thank You :-) New videos coming July 21st !!
where have you been. omg I discovered all this the hard way.
+Green Beauty Channel ™ oh, I didn't know that. Though it was healthy to go a long time without washing but yeah I can wash it 2-3 times a week😅😊
Thank you for giving us relevant information on natural hair. I'm tired of all these click bait natural hair videos claiming to help us grow our natural hair and all they do is babble on and on lthe structure of hair other than how to prevent breakage and simulate new growth. Just earned a new subbie 💕💕
love love love the animation to understanding kinky hair it was so clear and well understood...thank you

I’ve been a TH-cam fan since 2008 and I never left a comment for anyone, me just being shy. But I must say today... GIRL YOU DA BOMB! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👸
I usually don't subscribe but you all of that sis. please keep up the great work!
Thank You :-)
You always give great information. I just did the BC for the second time. My hair is 2 inches long when wet but only 1 inch when dry. That's shrinkage. But I love my coils and shrinkage is part of my hair so I accept that along with it. Thanks for great videos.
This got to be my problem!!! I'm definitely going to start stretching.
Wow your channel is great. And very informative. Thank you!!!

Are you a graphic artist?!?! The animations are adorable and informative! I'd be interested to know if you did them or hired someone else?
How am I just now finding your channel?? Your work puts so many others to shame. So thorough and to the point.
Darn..i really, really,REALLY hate my hair has to be stretched for it to grow long... I love my shrinkage.
I don't think this is true at all. I have only ever stretched my hair once, and my growth has been fantastic. I don't think stretching makes your hair grow faster, it just appears longer because you've stretched your natural curls.
+Aneesa H.
Stretching your hair does not make it grow faster. It makes it get longer because it keeps your hair from breaking.
I love my shrinkage also!! Long hair has never been "it" for me. I just really want healthy hair💯
+Teri Haukozi Very interesting.
Teri Haukozi what is the correct pronunciation of Bantu knots. Is it pronounced "bahn- tu" or ban-tu?
+Katrina Lark it is pronounced Bah-ntu
Maybe you read about the Bantu migration. Bantu people did not originate from the Southern parts of Africa.
AWESOME🎶 Thank you so much for this quality information. 💕

BEST CHANNEL EVER!!!!
this is an excellent illustration.
Thx again for more information and your time
I use weaving thread in African threading method. I love it. I just add moisturizer and add argan oil to ends.
Great presentation
Thank You :-) ... New videos coming July 21st !!
Thank you for putting out this video. The visuals were perfect for helping me to understand why stretching my hear is important.
great graphics. very engaging
that's EXACTLY the types of channels we need !!! Thanks !!
Excellent explanation. I love this.
