    Make sure your pressure plate is properly lined up. The is a hole in the plate and a mark on the basket that have to be lined up in order for the splines to mesh. If not, the spline teeth will be against each other and you will get no pressure on your clutch pack. Just went through this very problem 2003 Intruder Vl1500. Same motor and transmission though.

    I just put a new Barnett Kevlar pack and springs in my C90, I have a manual and watched this video as I did it. All went smooth, no issues or surprises and went back together ok...I started the bike to take a spin afterwards, fired right up (I also did the stator, rectifier, K&N air filter, plugs, Lithium Battery and a Bully Controller)...grabbed the clutch and tapped the gearshift and released slowly to...nothing, there wasn't even a faint tug or the usual bump when I shifted to 1st, the bike just sat and revved slightly like I was still in N...I just took it all back apart and compared the steel and friction plates to the old ones...measured absolutely identical, aside from a dimple pattern on the OEM steels there is no difference at all...I put it back together and before I lowered the lift I started it and went to 1st, the rear wheel turns about 40° slowly and stops as you release the clutch...then it will not move again until it's put back to N, shifted to 1st and released again...I've no idea what I did wrong...?!?!

    • @TwoWheelRocco
      @TwoWheelRocco  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sounds like an adjustment issue I know that might sound weak. But as you just seen it is straight forward doing a clutch the only thing is I would've tested it, before closing up the motor. How is your Clutch handle?

    • @TwoWheelRocco
      @TwoWheelRocco  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How did Clutch handle feel when pulling it in? If Good. Clutch pack not correct for your bike. Let us know how this works out. I would install OEM steel plates from your old clutch and see if that makes a difference. We are missing something. How was your old clutch?

    • @thestcroixkid
      @thestcroixkid 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The clutch pull is more firm than it was, the bike has 25k on it and the old clutch was slipping at higher speed under passing scenarios...the plate thicknesses are identical...even if they were out of spec the rear would still get some power, no? There's nothing. I don't see any adj. for the clutch in the manual...as far as straightforward goes, I know right?! I pulled all the covers, did a bunch of other work, I had this very clutch apart 2x's prior and never had an issue, never gave the clutch work a second thought...I'm stumped...it's back on the lift now after a drain...I'll throw those OEM plates in and see...even the oil I used was a motorcycle blend Valvoline 10-40 specific to wet clutches....

    • @TwoWheelRocco
      @TwoWheelRocco  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@thestcroixkid Oil is not a issue. I would do the same thing put the old clutch set in and see what you got. At least the steals. Let us know how this works out. Gets baffling sometimes. China is in all our parts.
