  • This is the follow up (Part 2) video to my Suzuki Intruder VS800 clutch master fitting and fail to bleed the system After finding out more information on the bleeding procedure I reverse bled the system. It took me a while so in this video I describe how I did it and the result.

Great job. Reverse bleeding works well on awkward systems. I have a Sealey Vacuum Bleeder, it is a Godsend. It will drag fluid through any dry system, no matter how restrictive.
    Best wishes, Dean.

Thanks. I have a vacuum bleeder as well but in this instance it did not do the job for some reason.

Hello I hope you can help m8 I just bought a 1400 intruder this past Saturday and flushed and refilled fluids and did a complete carb overhaul. Engine runs perfect. When I first got the bike I bled the clutch and it worked for about 3 days and it worked the clutch wasn’t super stiff but it was engaged enough to get the bike going fully under its own power. Today I went for another test ride the bike goes in and out of gear, but when I fully release clutch lever the bike is barely moving 2 miles per hour so I though maybe I still have a bit of air in the system. So I bled it again and still nothing. Even removed the clutch slave to inspect and it looks fine to me. Do you have any idea what it could be? After bleeding so many times it won’t engage like when I first bled it. Please help if you have any tips it’s really got me bummed ☹️

Hi You say you have changed all fluids. Do you have the correct oil in the engine? the bike has a wet clutch if the wrong oil is used the clutch will slip. If you have used the wrong oil you will have to replace the clutch and change the oil. If you had air in the system you would not be able to select any gear unless you were moving. hope this helps.

@@makerepairbin yes. I made sure to use 10w 40 motorcycle/atv on the back of the quart it said for wet clutch motorcycles so I made sure that I put the proper oil. I tried a gravity bleed first and did the basic bleed by filling the top reservoir and pumping the lever and bleeding from the bottom. The first time around my clutch was working but like three days later it wasn’t grabbing anymore so I tried bleeding again but it stayed the same. Barely rolling with clutch lever fully out

@@makerepairbin I ordered a syringe and a bleeder brake pump to help with the reverse bleed process. Also ordered a master cylinder lever reservoir to be in the safe side. Hopefully that fixes it but idk it’s just a bummer bc it was working 3 days ago

@@TheDANIEOROZCO Like I said if there is air in the system you would not be able to select any gear. You have used the correct oil so there must be an underlying problem with the clutch its self. You say you removed the slave cylinder did you check the pushrod that it pushes on maybe that is sticking. The other thing to check is the master cylinder that it is relieving pressure. You could try opening the bleeder on the slave when the clutch is not pulled to see if there is pressure, if there is then the master is not allowing fluid back and that would make the clutch slip.

@@makerepairbin when you say to check for pressure after cracking the bleeder down at the clutch slave without pressing lever fluid should spew out at the bottom and that means the MC is working properly? I ordered a rebuild kit for the slave cylinder as well as replaced the handlebar MC and put a brand new clutch hose line to reassure I have no leaks, reverse bled the system but still the clutch won’t grab. It goes in and out of gear but no power under load. What could be the issue? I ordered a new clutch slave just to be on the safe side and also a clutch kit just in case I have to replace that as well. I’m running out of ideas. What do you recommend me doing? Could it be a clutch plate screw adjustment? I really appreciate your advice and input let me know if you have any ideas. Or something I can try This clutch issue is driving me NUTS! The bike only has 15,000 miles
