    Finally this! I had the same result as others here. After I disassembled and rebuilt both master and slave clutch cylinders for my Suzuki Intruder I couldn't get the clutch to work. Followed dozens of videos showing how to bleed, but they are worthless without doing what this guy shows. All I had to do was bleed the master cylinder and then the slave...boom, my clutch works now. Thank you sir!!

    Good video on servicing the slave cylinder.
    Make sure you use HIGH-TEMP dot 4 brake fluid- rated for 375ºF and above. The reason; if you're in stand still 'bumper to bumper' traffic for a prolonged time- standard dot 4 will loose it's viscosity and you'll have no clutch pressure... this is a common issue. I have 2 Suzuki Intruder 1400's... been there - done that.

      Better still use Dot 5 silicon fluid, it never absorbs water so there's no corrosion inside the master or slave cyclinder and it never needs changing as it doesn't degrade. It costs twice as much as glycol fluid but the price is worth it as it's a once only change.

    Sir, you just saved me a lot of time and wasted money. Have been trying to bleed the slave cylinder within ut priming the master cylinder and wondered why I had no pressure 🙃

    Finally, a video to repair my Intruder! I don't know how many videos I watched and even tried reverse bleeding until fluid shot into the air and reached my open garage door, but my clutch still wouldn't pressurize. Not until I saw you had to bleed out the master cylinder and I am subscribing to yur channel in case I need more tips. Thank you very much!

      Im having problems with an intruder as well. This fixed it for you? If so I will have to try it.

    • @Thomas-jo8sp
      @Thomas-jo8sp 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BudderKing4u it sure did, but that was my fault for letting the fluid get too low so it sucked air. Oops, first time I worked on a bike.

    When you put together the slave cylinder, should the piston be flush with the cylinder or is it ok if the piston comes out a little

    Hello. What was the cause of this repair? What symptoms, before you did anything, I lost the power of the clutch. Have cleaned and refilled the brake fluid and vented the system. But there are no air bubbles in the return to the container on the handlebars ...

    Put new aftermarket CNC hydraulic clutch and brake on my Ducati and they're not building up pressure very good any suggestions

      On rare occasions I have to use vacuum pump to pull the fluid thru... specially on aftermarket parts or custom bikes.

    • @kevinhancock4064
      @kevinhancock4064 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Only time I ever had slow or lack of pressure build up was when I had a brake fluid leak at caliper once sorted pressure went well check fir leaks etc everything us tight and pump lever a few times before pushing fluid through each time it helps build pressure at master I've had no issues since

  • @davidwright873
    @davidwright873 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    It's the cap in the slave cylinder. It should be flared but over time loses it's ability to flare thus loses it's ability to create a vacuum/pressure type thing....I compared the new to the old...O my!! lol

    My clutch grips in the very end.
    Is there a possibility to bring this gripping point closer to the center?
    ( I don't know maybe with the length of the pushing rod or something )
    The clutch pads ok, and the fluid was changed also.
    Thanks in advance!

      99% of the time there is no adjustments on hydraulic clutches...if you got a sport bike you can try adjustable aftermarket levers...or sometimes bending the lever just a little might be solution for your reach...( make sure the lever is nice and hot sitting in the sun or heat it up a little so it won't snap)....adjusting the pushrod in the lever could work but I suggest having spare ready in case you mess one up...hope this helps and please subscribe to help me out...thanks brother

    I flushed and bled my clutch on my 2005 vulcan classic. I am having an issue at first startup in the mornings. Every time I kick down from nuetral to ride, the bike jumps forward like the clutch is still disengaged. I start the second time with no problem. Have you any experience with this happening and what may be the problem. Thanks in advance.

    • @DoityourselfMotorcyclerepairs
      @DoityourselfMotorcyclerepairs  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      yes I've seen this happen quite a few times and the only remedy for it was replacing the clutch sometimes these friction plates when they get older they stuck together for the first time and then after that is fine so it's your choice if you can deal with it leave it alone if you want to fix it you have to replace the clutch which is probably $120 if you do your own labor... You need to buy the friction plates spring and the gasket.... Thank you for watching please subscribe to see more videos in the future

      It only has 18k on it. If I let it warm up a bit it seems to shift down fine. Thank you for your reply and very informative videos.

    After you bleed the clutch, will you be able to put the motorcycle into neutral without the motorcycle running?

    The reason I hit the dislike button is that you advertise "common problems" but you stopped when you got to the particular problem this bike had and then you went onto fixing this bike. My bike has a different problem that you never got to because you were just interested in talking about the problem you were facing yourself.
    My bike has no leak but the lever is very hard to depress. I am guessing that I have a bad slave cylinder but who knows? I'm searching TH-cam for an explanation of my problem. This video didn't help in spite of it's title.
