I love your videos because they inspire me to have a better relationship with my spoodle Jasper. Sometimes I might read a book aloud from my house to next door neighbour dog (border Collie; which I assume is due to nervousness of strange noises) when he/she might bark a lot.

For sure❤ My husband had a stroke and had to go to a nursing home on Medicaid. I ended up having to sell my house, and I moved in with my daughter. My pup was just not working well in that situation. I was fortunate enough to be able to rehome her with the people we got her from. Now my pup has 3 acres to run in and has a family who loves her and is so happy. But my heart is broken. 😢 I miss her so much.❤
Absolutely agree with you - 💯 There are SO many things that impact a surviving partner. I feel very compassionate toward them. Actually I adopted a young Rottweiler under this type of circumstance. Mom had to depart home with her kids and Rottie and go live with parents. She couldn’t keep their dog. She was also SO responsible. She was specifically looking (friends helping) to find a new home with someone who owned Rotties before. We wound up with an amazing dog. My son was a toddler and he called our new Rottie “my baby - she’s my baby”!❤
Absolutely. It's difficult to go from a 2 person household down to one. Between finances, responsibilities, and just trying to grieve, it's a lot for someone and might not be fair to the dog either, especially such a young dog.
I lost my husband unexpectedly 3 years ago this month. I had to sell our home and move. Never once thought about not keeping our 2 dogs. No judgment, but most times, when there's a will, there's a way.
Rocky I lost my husband Rusty in 2005 to cancer. We had raised a Great Pyrenees and her name was Dexie. I also had to move but was able to keep her but my heart breaks for this lady because obviously she wasn't able to take Lucy with her. I have seen a dog grieve for her owner and I was in the floor holding her and crying with her. Bless Lucy's heart and please find her the perfect home. ❤❤❤❤❤❤thank ❤❤❤
My first wife was always bringing puppies home. When we split up, the last dog she brought home was her favorite. She moved out and didn't take the dog. When I asked about it, she said just take her to the pound or put her down. When I allow a dog in my home, it has a home, so I kept her for another 14 years. I almost didn't bring my current dog home because Coco (shepherd/chow mix) dud not like other dogs around, but she was 17 years old and wasn't interested anymore. She passed away about 2 months after I brought Margo (American Staffordshire Terrier) home.
I lost my all black shepherd about 11 months ago. She had cancer. I miss her so much. I had her for 15 years from the time she was born. When I see Lucy, I pray that she gets a home where she’s loved. She is so beautiful.
Was on a Facebook group and there was an older gentlemen that said he was not going to get another dog because he was 73 and has cancer and lost his last dog 2 months ago. He didn't want to leave a dog behind that would have no place to go. It was great that he had the ability to sacrifice what he wanted because he knew where it would leave the dog when he passes. Many people suggested he foster a dog so it was not permanent.
@@kevinberta8741 That is such a great community caring really :) That indeed if he's well enough would be great. And if he notices he wouldn't be well enough anymore the dog could go to another home or furever home . It goes to show , always have a backup plan for your dog so it doesn't end up in a bad situation if something happens to you. My rescue dog has allot of behavior issues sadly. I can only safely truly entrust him with myself. The only other choice would be a someone that has a background as a professional dog trainer that would be willing to give him a home. That being said I'm 36 and I sure hope I'm not going anywhere for a long long while , and neither is my buddy :) I can't stand to miss my little bugger :)
Aww. I adopted my senior GSD/Husky mix this past March (Tucson). She's going on 10 years old. She was in the shelter for about 9 months. She was so traumatized by that experience, and it took about 6 weeks to really get her to start to trust that I wasn't going to abandon her. She's so gentle, happy, and is a huge cuddle bug. Being a senior (like me!), she also is cool with just regular walks each day, and doesn't require the constant high activity she probably needed when she was younger. I'm so grateful she adopted me!! ❤❤
For 43 years I have felt shame, remorse, pain, sadness, guilt….we had a German shepherd … a beauty…….. who I loved. His name was Strider. We got a divorce. I was living in his parent’s apt house. His sister & husband lived upstairs and hated me and the dog. I asked my parents for help and they said no. I had no choice, no place to live, no help. Husband did not do a thing. I had to turn Strider in to a shelter. 43 years later I can still see his face as I left him. So thank you for this video in particulaar. I still cry. 43 years!!!! I have 2 rescue cats now and a feral we feed EVERY night he comes. But he won’t be touched even after 9 months. We also saved a baby opossum that after 5 weeks we released and I miss his little face so much!!!! Are there cat videos like yours Rocky??? I am so grateful for this video. I don’t think I will ever not feel sadness over Strider. But you are an absolute angel for what you do. Blessings!!!
God bless you. You did what you had to for your fur baby. It is not your fault you had to do this. You are such a good person who did the hardest thing because you love your fur baby so much.
I can identify with Lucys Mama my Husband died last year in may 2023 he was 71 . I understand the feelings. Your hurting, your emotions are in upheaval. If you never had a spouse die here's what happens you lose half your monthly income, if there was a calsters (teachers' pension fund) you will get one final check and that's it. I lost $1,800 a month income. The worst part in my case was 5 months to the day my wonderful Boxer mix Duke died. My husband died May 23rd, 2023; my Dog Duke died on Oct 23rd, 2023 4:30 am same time the hospital called to tell me my Paul was gone. Maybe Lucys Mama figured she wouldn't be able to feed Lucy anymore so please don't judge her to harshly. Vet said my Duke had the Boxer Curse he was full of Tumors
I think it was also mentioned that Lucy's Mama had to move. Maybe she couldn't keep her home and was forced to move fast and moving with a pet without having time to search sounds nearly impossible.
As Rocky was singing to Daisy, May, I started crying and my rescue pup very gingerly crawled up onto my chest and started giving me kisses knowing that I needed it. Nothing I mean nothing beats the love of a rescue pet.
When the time is right God brings the rescue pup that you need into your life. Two months after I had to euthanize my girl, I went to the shelter to "look" ( that never works....lol)......there he was waiting for me. It's been three years since I adopted my pup and he is a wonderful dog!
Mel is a star. I mean, the hair and glasses are just fierce for a start! But she's also so kind and gentle. If she doesn't have her own channel, then she needs it! 💖💖💖💖
Rocky, you are sooo much stronger than I am. If a shut-down dog came and rested their head on my shoulder, my heart would melt and I'd be walking out with them.
Wow, really happy about Daisy, the Doberman finding people that knew the breed, had the time and the right energy to bond with her. Cool that Moose ended up with people who had another mastiff. Knowing the breed makes a big difference.
I would live under a bridge before giving up my dog. But it sucks so hard when someone is forced to give their 4 legged family up. Rocky, you are so amazing. Keep doing what you do!
I figured I would watch some wholesome dog content before work, but I hadn't heard lucy's story yet and now I'm bawling eating breakfast. What a heartbreaking story
You have a very nice singing voice, Rocky. When I saw Princess push her face into the kennel wall, I wept. Thank you for doing such great work, comforting these dogs, and telling their stories so they can get adopted. Making the world a better place. ❤❤❤
I don't blame mom. We don't know what she is going thru and why she couldn't take Lucy with. No one can know how much mom is hurting right now, losing her husband. I am 💯 percent sure there is some family out there who will treasure her for the gift she is.😊
I agree, I lost my husband almost two years ago and I had to decide if I wanted to keep his service dog we had for about two years, I decided to keep her, it was very difficult to do but I’m so glad I did, Please don’t blame the mom, she might not have had the support she needs even
@@countycallingQuite right, there is so much we might not know. The death of a spouse can seriously affect your financial stability too and sometimes, if the person is moving into a family member’s home, even if temporarily it might not be possible to take a dog. Sometimes grief is crippling too, without any of the other things, it’s hard enough to keep yourself upright never mind be responsible for another living creature.
Me too .. maybe the mom lost her husband, couldn't afford to stay in their home.... So she may have moved in with a son or daughter somewhere... But I am glad Lucy is so young .. she will have many years with her new family ..
I couldn't believe I had a 2 hour show of pupdates to watch! What a dream! I love seeing these dogs come out of their trauma and live happy and doggy - the way it's meant to be. Just warms my heart! I can't have a dog as I am housebound and so cannot give a dog the basics, like walking or riding in a car. But I LOVE dogs and it's almost like getting to be with dogs watching these "sitting with dogs" videos. Thank you so much for sharing it. Looks like Princess was found by her lost twin!
I had a Border Collie/ Australian Shepard cross named Shep. He was the best dog, smart, loving and great with kids. He was my best friend for 16 years. I still miss him
I so hope Lucy gets a new forever home ... and I feel so bad for the owner , it had to be the hardest decision to make . She did the best she could and didn't just drop her off in some remote area. Rocky , you and yours are the best ! Thank you for all that you do.
I have taken in 2 German Shepherds that had their owners die. They mourn deeply but when they come out of that and bond with you it's amazing. They find love again and cherish every moment, it's a special feeling.
Hello Rocky I've just started watching to channel not to long ago - I'm in Sacramento and have been Rescuing animals Most of my life And I have a wonderful story to share with you about a boxer that I Rescue from the Sacramento SPCA she was in the Process of shutting down Staff had given up hope When I brought her home & 2 weeks later she saved myself and family when I had a house fire - she made the covet of the SPCA Magazine & was the best dog I could of ever asked for
When you started talking to Alexie, Lucy's head came up and she started listening. Did yoy see that? She's so beautiful. I'm sure it was so hard for her Mom to have to bring her to the shelter to give her up. There's many reasons that could have made Lucy's Mom give her up. And it's sad. But I know you'll find her the right family, Rocky. You do good work!! God bless you!!❤❤❤
I only caught the end of his, when it was streaming. So happy to hear all the awesome updates. I'm really glad that Daisy Mae found people that weren't detered by a fear reaction, and also that Moose found people that know Mastiffs and their needs! Happy future, to all these beautiful pups!
I’ve had a handful of dogs in my life and they’re all loyal, but I didn’t know what true loyalty was when I adopted Honor my belgian malinois beagle mix. She is so affectionate so loyal like she loves her humans and she loves people and is great with other dogs. I literally hit the jackpot when I adopted her. She’s the perfect dog.
Lucy's story made me cry. I am so sorry for that sweet girl. So happy (again in tears that she has found a wonderful home! I had a wonderful black German Shepherd Dog; his name was Asher. He was so fun and so loyal and so loving to me (and to anyone that I liked). I still miss him. He died in 2008, and it broke my heart. Now I have Standard Poodles. They are fun and active and friendly, but they are high maintenance (clipping needed). Their antics and intelligence make up for the excessive maintenance! I loved them both: Smoky and Scout. (We live in the Smoky Mountains of NC) Pray for Western NC. The damage from Helene has been excessive and heart-breaking!
Rocky, you are definitely a DOG NUT 🐕 ❤️ 😅 I am definitely a CAT NUT 🐈 ❤😂 However, I'd like to say that Lucy is strikingly beautiful, just stunning 😍 ❤️ She is just AMAZING. I pray she gets the perfect forever family.
That poor Husky. When I found mine, she was front and center trying to get anyone's attention. She was happy, but after 1.5 years, I know she'd absolutely shut down. She's very much a creature of habit now and views me as her everything. That poor baby.
Rocky you are so GOOD with those dog. You seem to really have the knack of making these nervous pups feel comfortable and loved. Thank you and you wife and Alexis for what you do,
I am so thrilled to have been gifted a membership today. I really wanted to thank that person again. I don’t know who it was as I am new to this chat. But you know who you are , so thank you!! 🙏 ❤🐾❤️
That's so cool! Love it when a volunteer team's hard work & outreach builds a whole wider community who can help support the initiative AND bring positivity into each others' lives. Hope you have a lovely day!
I wanted Zeus. I don’t think I’m a good choice because I’m not active enough for a dog like him, given my complicated life as a full time worker and part time caretaker, and I live alone so no one else to offset my schedule and availability, and he deserves an amazing life, but he was awesome. Edit: LOVE the match with America - what a beautiful union! ❤😊
Sorry I’m late Rocky but I’m here now …omg I’m in tears that poor baby girl…losing her dad suddenly then mom had to leave. So very sad… But now she can start to heal… another family will love her unconditionally…
I guess her mum would be having financial issues mortgage and lots of flats and private landlords don't allow dogs so you're stumped it's so sad but owner did best thing❤❤❤
Rocky... Lucy brought tears to my eyes. She is so smart and misses her best friend so much. I'm so glad you are there to tell her so she is important and get some loves.
Zeus not being able to sleep in that environment is like people not being able to sleep in a hospital environment. You being in the kennel with him gives him the comfort he needs to feel safe enough to nap.
Lucy is so beautiful & such expressive eyes and expressions, & gleaming coat.. soo very glad you spent this time with her ~ Thank You. How incredibly sad that the 'Mum' felt she had to part with Lucy too after the husband died
I was wondering if Lucy's mom lost her husband and had to move in with a daughter or son somewhere that didn't allow big dogs, etc .. I feel bad for her and Lucy..
Oh my. These updates melt my heart ❤. Daisy Mae (Duke) brought me to your channel and was a huge part of why we subscribed. Hearing her update, I’m in full tears of joy. Having lost our dog prior to adopting our current fur baby a few years ago I empathize with her family so much. I am so thankful for this community and can’t wait to see where Pumpkin and his “sister” bring us on their journey. Love is overflowing here ❤
I lost my 14 year old rescue mix 2 weeks ago. It's been so hard. The days are long, the nights longer. There is such a void, the silence. These videos make me happy. I appreciate them so so much. Trint was so good with Lucy, he immediately sat and I could see her warm up to him. It is so heartwarming that you watch a person that would ignore their own basic instincts to make sure an animals comfort came first. I love these pupdates. Thanks to everyone who make them possible.
Lucy is so great. I paused the video and read the full page of that letter, it's really lovely and I thought Lucy's new mom has beautiful handwriting. I love the thought of Lucy bringing all her toys to play in the mornings and watching Sitting With Dogs on the TV like "hey, I know that guy!"
All of these dogs are little miracles. We have a big problem here in the U.K. rescue world. Too many pets out there needing homes. Even those rescues that I know have waiting lists for intake 😢 From the first dog I adopted from a local shelter, I’ve been hooked on adoption. We’ve currently got 3 dogs, and 2 cats, from various shelters. I started a Facebook page to help promote the smaller rescue, and I’ve written 3 children’s ebooks that parents can use to introduce rescue to their children. I’d love to do what you do, but there’s no way I’m getting on the floor, as I wouldn’t be able to get back up! 😂 (I’m a wheelchair user)
My uncle has always had Dobermans and they can be such fun, loving and silly dogs they just need love as well as firm training. She looks like she will be a big girl and so so beautiful.
I love it when you sing to the dogs. I took care of a 99 year old man who sang that song to his wife everyday until she passed away. He found the song on a C.D. and played it until he died. I used to sing it with him when I was care-giving for him.
So very happy to see Zeus’ outcome. So happy for the couple who adopted Lou. He still makes me tear up when I see him. This is the dog that caused me to become a member. ✨💖✨
Lucy is the most beautiful girl. It's amazing how she almost understood the conversation Rocky had on the phone. I hope she finds a great forever home and never has to shut down ever again. Love

I am so sorry for your loss. Bless you. ❤❤🙏
So sorry for your loss and pain God bless you for keeping the dog your ex didn't want
So sorry she is gone. Sad too you learned a lot about your ex wife
She likely finally felt she could finely go, once she knew the new pup would look after you.
My thoughts on your first wife 😠😡🤬
It's hilarious that your ex did you a favor by leaving and leaving you a friend.
I lost my all black shepherd about 11 months ago. She had cancer. I miss her so much. I had her for 15 years from the time she was born. When I see Lucy, I pray that she gets a home where she’s loved. She is so beautiful.
15 is really old for a shepherd. It is so hard to lose them. You must have given her great care.
Ur furbaby that passed over and would want u to get another pupper to love like ur pet got to experience. Love is a terrible thing to waste!❤❤❤❤❤😊
She a beautiful gs! I don't remember ever seeing one.😢 She's so alert! Love her ears!!!!❤❤. Both of them😅. I hope she finds a forever home soon. 😊
So sorry for your loss
Sometimes people have no choice in a situation when someone passes way…so sad for everyone.
@@kevinberta8741If he was well enough, fostering might be perfect.
That being said I'm 36 and I sure hope I'm not going anywhere for a long long while , and neither is my buddy :)
I can't stand to miss my little bugger :)
Kelly is so awesome. What a great partner to share your life with, who really appreciates what is important to you.
They are a fabulous team❤
Big hug. Hopefully you are in a loving place now.
Feeling your pain as it never goes away. Wishing you all happiness in the future..
❤️❤️❤️
God bless you. You did what you had to for your fur baby. It is not your fault you had to do this. You are such a good person who did the hardest thing because you love your fur baby so much.
Sorry for the hard choice you had to make. Kittycritter channel is the best I have seen. Turn on the subtitles though. It’s korean
❤❤❤
I'm still grieving my mum who died in 2014 and my dog that died in year 2000@@cecile862
I think it was also mentioned that Lucy's Mama had to move. Maybe she couldn't keep her home and was forced to move fast and moving with a pet without having time to search sounds nearly impossible.
Rocky, you are a light in the darkness!!
Your work with dogs is nothing short of outstanding...
@ garymiller5132 I disagree with you no hate comments please
So happy to know Lucy found a loving home
What a smart girl Lucy is! She’s a sweetheart!
Oh! She's trying so hard! What a good dog❤❤
💕 Lovely comment - Lucy
Watching princess press her body up against the wall like that was so heartbreaking. I am so Happy that all these pups have happy homes.
Yes ooo..the bonding he makes and able to let go each times..ahh he is way stronger. Kudos to him...
Wow, really happy about Daisy, the Doberman finding people that knew the breed, had the time and the right energy to bond with her.
Cool that Moose ended up with people who had another mastiff. Knowing the breed makes a big difference.
And he also got a mastiff mother figure which is fantastic considering his age.
These dogs highly sense that you are the Real Deal, and they can trust you. Always remember that they will never forget you and your kindness.
I am really! So very happy that Lucy the black German Shepherd found her new forever home
It's never a lost cause! Most things can be worked through with patience!! 🐶🐶♥️
The reaction by Daisey Mae to the head scratch is somwhere between "I'm not sure about this" and "I'll give you all day to stop!" She's beautiful!
I had a Border Collie/ Australian Shepard cross named Shep. He was the best dog, smart, loving and great with kids. He was my best friend for 16 years. I still miss him
My doggie was a border collie and shepherd dog crossed died in year 2000 miss him like hell and my mum who died in 2014
My dog Phizz is an Aussie/border collie mix too. He's so loving and loyal, and as funny as it gets! He's like Christmas every day. ❤
Breaking my heart with this one. This sweet baby has seen too much pain for such a short life. Someone out there needs this beautiful girl.
Listening to Lucy's story brought me to tears 😢, but soon after seeing her peek up is so nice!
So glad to see Princess found the right home. LOVE these stories of dogs finding real homes 🙂
Daisy Duke is a perfect example of "people don't pick the dog. Dogs find THEIR people". All these updates are making me so happy.🥰🥰🥰🥰
I just love your work with all these beautiful, loving souls. ❤
I am so happy to see people like you who really cares for the dogs. They are not just pets, they are members of a family.
THANK YOU Rocky and Kelly for all you do for these dogs. YOU ARE AWESOME!!
Love the story of Lucy getting her new home with Susan and Howard. Lucy is a gorgeous dog, I was so taken with her too.
These stories definitely seem like it's meant to be. Almost like the dogs and families were made for each other ❤
Lucy's story made me cry.
Happy Borks from Down Under for Lucy's adoption!
you are like the Mr. Rogers of animal rescue my man
I just commented the exact same thing!!❤
Rocky, you are definitely a DOG NUT 🐕 ❤️ 😅
I am definitely a CAT NUT 🐈 ❤😂
However, I'd like to say that Lucy is strikingly beautiful, just stunning 😍 ❤️ She is just AMAZING. I pray she gets the perfect forever family.
Rocky your an amazing person and what u do for these dogs is nothing short of phenomenal 🙏
That poor Husky. When I found mine, she was front and center trying to get anyone's attention. She was happy, but after 1.5 years, I know she'd absolutely shut down. She's very much a creature of habit now and views me as her everything. That poor baby.
Awe I love how she cuddled up to you❤
omg thank you for finally updating us on Lucy! I couldn't stop thinking of her! She is a dream!
Precious baby is never a lost cause ❤
My rescue baby Bandit watched this with me. Love that these sweet babies found homes.❤
Thank you for everything you do for these dogs!!! We need more people like you (and your wife) Bless you❤
That dog is really paying attention to you. Such a beautiful, elegant face. I think she’s probably really intelligent & highly trainable.
Hope someone adopt the border collie a beautiful dog.
Wow! What a tearjerker! It is amazing to see how the Lucy is looking and concentrating on you when you’re speaking.
So happy for all these buddies, especially Moose and Princess. Seeing Moose with Leia made me realize how much more growing he will do!
@@anna_in_aotearoa3166 thank you this is so sweet of you. Its people like you guys here who really make a difference! ❤️🐕🐾♥️
So very sad…
But now she can start to heal… another family will love her unconditionally…
I guess her mum would be having financial issues mortgage and lots of flats and private landlords don't allow dogs so you're stumped it's so sad but owner did best thing❤❤❤
it´s nice to see a alleast LESS mutelated dobbermann, I hope her new owners keep her ears and tail.
Lucy looks so happy now. Daisey got happy too. You got the magic Rocky
I love how Daisy Mae's ears aren't cropped. She is so cute. Poor baby, 7 months old and lost her family. She was so gentle taking the treats.
Love is overflowing here ❤
I've been raising doberman for 25+ years. They are amazing family dogs ❤
@@melissaorgeron9161I'm so sorry for your loss ❤️
Lucy is so great. I paused the video and read the full page of that letter, it's really lovely and I thought Lucy's new mom has beautiful handwriting. I love the thought of Lucy bringing all her toys to play in the mornings and watching Sitting With Dogs on the TV like "hey, I know that guy!"
Rocky ur an inspiration. What you have done is nothing less than amazing!!🎉 keep it up these puparoos need more ppl like you ❤❤
Love Rocky singing ❤ Problem is I am ill and it lulled me to sleep 🤔woke up and had to watch again hahaha 🎹💃🏼Thanku Rocky for all you do ❤
All of these dogs are little miracles.
We have a big problem here in the U.K. rescue world. Too many pets out there needing homes. Even those rescues that I know have waiting lists for intake 😢
From the first dog I adopted from a local shelter, I’ve been hooked on adoption.
There’s light in lovely Lou’s eyes in his adoption video! I’m so glad he was adopted by this wonderful and patient couple.
So sad to hear that Lucy was returned... I'm hopeful that she will be adopted VERY soon. xoxo
She was adopted.

Was adopted
My uncle has always had Dobermans and they can be such fun, loving and silly dogs they just need love as well as firm training. She looks like she will be a big girl and so so beautiful.
I love it when you sing to the dogs. I took care of a 99 year old man who sang that song to his wife everyday until she passed away. He found the song on a C.D. and played it until he died. I used to sing it with him when I was care-giving for him.
Lucy is SOOOO beautiful ~ inside & out! 🥰
I have 2 border collies and just love them. Thank you for everything you all do❤️
So very happy to see Zeus’ outcome.
Love
I'm so glad Moose got a second-second chance!
Oh My Goodness. Imagine having TWO beautiful white huskies with such beautiful eyes. What a lucky owner!
So glad Princess got a big sister to help her out. Let the shenanigans begin!
I love Lucy found a good home!❤❤❤
Mel is amazing, she needs more shout-outs.
