Ah wow, that's incredible. So scared, yet so desperate to be loved
Like so many humans...
A lovely story. If only we all had the patience to see the good in every living animal.
Now she's ready to begin life and start all over again in love.
Who, the dog or the trainer?
and to love
Such a clear example of how fear is so often at the root of aggression in animals (including humans), and how, with patience, understanding, compassion (and, sometimes, chicken nuggets!), it can be overcome to reveal a beautiful, affectionate and joyful being.
Beautifully said!
In humans its usually emotional pain, neglect during childhood, of course trauma (you mentioned), hormonal imbalance, poor diet, mental illness etc.
@@katieb3059 Of course, there are many and complex reasons for aggressive behaviour. I don't mean to over-simplify the pathology - and the role of trauma or poor health - in anti-social behaviours in animals or humans (that's a whole other discussion!). The primary point I was making is that the probability of fear being the source of aggression is often overlooked.
@@sinistral9629 i wasn't trying to correct your previous comment, just to add/name other possible reasons. I think it's known that traumatized dogs fear humans (rightfully so). Problem always has been that there weren't enough patient people with free time to work with these poor dogs.
That is correct- most dogs are aggressive because there was something bad going on in the past, and things they don't understand going on now.
Also health problems, it's important that dogs get medical treatment for illness and pain.
Huge majority of dogs can be turned around with good health treatment and the right dog person.
Dog experts agree on this.
53 yr. old veteran here.... I have tears streaming down my face. God Bless these folks.
I agree an 200 %..bless you folks!! You make this world a better place!
Did you see what was on the floor of the Kennel?
ain’t that the truth brother
It saddens me to imagine what this poor girl might have endured to make her so fearful that she felt she had to be "aggressive" to defend herself. But it always makes me happy that there are caring people out there who take the time to give dogs like these the chance to learn to trust humans again. So glad this girl found the loving forever home she deserved from the start.
Hello how are you doing today
Yes, you make such an astute observation, and I think that is exactly right - she must have gone through something quite serious to make her so fearful that she felt she had to be "aggressive" to defend herself. God bless that sweet baby's heart, and God bless these wonderful people for helping her. 💜🙏
I experienced the same behavior with my adopted Malinois. This kind of behavior in them is mostly from lack of socialization.
it's the same with cats who hiss or lash out. It's a fear response and never something evil. Every pet derserves to be treated with kindness, love and respect.
she might not necessarily have ever endured anything bad, bad socialization and bad genetics can cause this
How this Belgian got to the point of fear aggression is mind boggling. they are one of the most loyal fearless protectors and friends of humans, Not hard to see why many professional forces uses the breed in law enforcement and military. They are also very intelligent.
Reasoning the way her barriers was broken down just by the simple act of love, something she craved for. Thank you for including us in her journey to her happy ever after.
Looks like both genetic and environment. Could be a very bad environment coupled with the fact that the breeders could be breeding dogs who are more skittish and snappy. And together, you get a dog like this.
@@blenderpain8249that malawa has to get over the owner that dumped it
@@Tkidddd Unfortunately that's not how it works. She's a dog, she doesn't have the capacity to understand.
@@blenderpain8249 unfortunately she does and that's the problem
@@Tkidddd Dude, how do you tell a dog to "get over it"? It's a dog.
This woman is doing EXACTLY what she was meant to in this life.
Watching this makes me happy and sad at the same time, knowing that there are animals out there who will never get these opportunities.
Truly upsetting 😢
Everytime a video of this channel. Heart is breaking and then heart is crying for joy when they got sooo much more happier
Because kill shelters are murderers. Without humans that wouldn't be an issue would it?
You’ve certainly worked your magic with this beautiful creature ❤
That's entirely because humans in many of their fake shelters like to euthanize them.
*Sahari, you embody the epitome of a dog trainer-your adept selection of food, choice of words, serene demeanor, and sprinkles of laughter all contribute to building trust effortlessly. I earnestly hope that more individuals within the dog training community adopt your exceptional methodology*
Thank you so much for not giving up on this dog. Wonderful how proud she looked with her new owners. And now i want chicken nuggets.
That puppy just wants all the love she can get
Belgian malinois are super loyal and affectionate doggies..
I wish more people could read dogs well enough to know the difference between real fear and real aggression.
Especially with the Belgian Malinois in this case that desperately needs socialization instead of being locked in a kennel.
As soon as they bond with you, it's forever. Their loyalty is limitless.
I love this video.
There are no bad dogs. Just bad owners. I love dogs 🐕❤. Be well and safe and happy sweet dog ❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks for adopting this precious dog 🐕❤
Hats off to the young lady who was able to socialize this pup. Take a minute to think about the effort and then turn this wonderful soul over to someone else. It has to be tough to let go.
her face when being adopted.... just pure happiness!! she's just made my day!
Well done saving a precious life that just needed some help healing and overcoming fear.
God bless this lady for her patience, love and care for this dog. She literally saved its life.
Fear aggression is something that can be addressed, as noted in this excellent piece
Yes! ❤
You know it never occurred to me that women like this could help so many dogs by helping them get adopted. It makes so much sense, she's a dog therapist, which is what they need along with a loving home. Not every willing adopter will have the skills to heal a dog like this even if they want to. Very inspiring.
Patience and love are a dogs best friend 💯
Thanks to everyone involved and for showcasing this beautiful story 💙🐕
''Patience and love are a dogs best friend''
Not necessarily. It only works on dogs with fear based aggression, not with dogs with on the prowl, born aggression.
Investing is a stepping stone to success, investing is what create wealth. BTC is the key
I'll never tire seeing a breakthrough with an animal that's lived in fear or abuse or whatever their situation. Just goes to show how with love and patience most can overcome the situation they've been put in.
What a great turn-around!
As someone who has had a fear of dogs my whole life watching these kind of stories really inspires me to try to heal my relationship with the canine folk. ❤
why not volunteer as a dog walker for a dog shelter
@@Ania-qb3ot that’s a really good idea! 👍
What a beautiful ending to this story. Huge shout out to this woman who actually took the time to work with her and show her the love and patience she needed. We need more people like her in this world.
Poor thing! Our dog was exactly like that. A German Shepherd K-9 unit who was removed from her handler due to abuse. She went from snarling & gnashing teeth to the most perfect lovey dovey guard dog. RIP Duchess.
This Belgian girl is beautiful, I hope she gets the life she deserves a life full of love and security!
We have a cat which are more "convenient", but dogs are truly awesome. Wishing every shelter animal find their human soul mates!!
Hand feeding is so pure, such a tiny gesture means everything to them. I fed my dogs from the hand on occasion the bond they feel with you is irreplaceable.
What a beautiful dog! Someone did her badly to produce so much fear. Great job bringing her back to her real self. Long life and happiness to her and her new family.
Sahari, you're the absolutely perfect kind of dog trainer- the choice of food to begin building trust, the words you used, the calmness you created, and your little bits of laughter. I wish more people who work with dogs would use your method.
Hello
I’m tearing up. She’s a beauty. Who could hurt a dog. They will literally lay down their life to save yours. Many humans won’t do that.
Chicken nuggets are the gateway to love.
She is a Belgien shepherd. The breed is called Malinois in French and Mechelse Herder in Dutch. They in fact tend to be aggressive and here in Europe they are mainly used as police dogs or for similar use. They are super kind with their family but difficult to handle with unknown persons.
When I was 13 years old me and my mom were walking home and a mugger came up to us with a knife and all the sudden a stray pitbull rescued us and we took him to the vet and found out he was micro chiped to an illegal dog fighting area so we adopted him and every one told us he was aggressive but he was the sweetest boy, he was so gentle with humans and other animals (and people say pitbulls are aggressive)❤❤❤
What a wonderful story...the pittie who rescued you and your Mom was destined to be wit you...🥰
I've been around pitties for a long time and have yet to find an aggressive one. It's how they are raised. If you raise one with love, they love you back. My neighbor used to have one that we nick named Houdini because he was an escape artist. One time he got out of his yard without his owner noticing and I was coming home from school. I saw Houdini wandering around and my friends said to not go near it its a pit bull. I showed them, I got down to a knee and called him over and he let me pet him and rub his belly, my friends were astounded. I took him back home to his house and my neighbor was happy it ended that way and not animal control being called for a wandering pitbull.
@@kylederry5031 than you haven’t been around enough pits plan and simple.. That’s probably the dumbest take ever when clear evidence of pits being aggressive have been produced for over 50 years. It’s more that you’re deliberately being delusional. I had one that was the sweetest dog ever and one day he attacked a whole pack of dogs just to be the big dog on the street. Had to put him down cause he killed 4 other dogs and mangled the other two..
@@Bam_Bam_Bam_Bam that sucks for you
All mammals want to be safe and loved. Thank you for making it happen.
Please never give up on aggressive dogs, they're just scared and desperately wanna learn to trust people again and be loved.
Thank you guys for giving this beautiful dog a second chance and for adopting her ❤
She's a Belgian. Malinois. I have one that I'm raising. My gosh, they have these incredible personalities. And they are EXTREMELY INTELLIGENT. Make no mistake. They're tactical dogs for a reason. They have a huge prey drive and because of that combination they are very easy to train. This girl felt the vibe of the trainer and her sincere want for this beautiful girl. It's awesome to see how amazing she turned out. Best wishes for y'all 😊
She's not. She's a GSD, and if you had one you'd know the difference in the way they look. And they're not that intelligent or tactical either, that's GSDs too.
She is BEAUTIFUL!
57 year old man at 430 am choked up n crying. I worked at a no kill shelter where I too met a "vicious small female feist type" dog. One could barely put food n water in her kennel. 8 hrs a day at work, while taking care of 15 to 20 other dogs I managed with homemade beef jerky, in tidbits, had that dog as a necklace face to face. She had her legs wrapped around my neck. It took the jerky to have her be comfortable with other humans but less each time. Best job I ever had. Can't train very well unfortunately because I can't seem to stop the bonding and suddenly I feel like we are a couple. Several dogs in my life. Best memories of my life. Never married and could care less. Dogs are the key to so many mental issues. Fear of abandonedment. Addiction. Depression, the list could go on forever.
This dog is a MASTER manipulator! I would give people menacing looks and threatening gestures if I knew it would prompt them to bribe me with food treats and fun trips to "behave" myself. I'll have to give that a try!
Good luck, let us know how it works for you!🤣
We need more people who know the difference between aggressive behavior and just plain fear! I'm so glad that this fur baby has the chance to show her true self.
What a beautiful puppy. So cool to see her loved, rather than just discarded because she wasn't easy.
I love Belgian Shepherds so much. In fact, I own one!!! Super smart too.
Malenois are so smart too! She's just beautiful and will be an amazing addition to an active family!❤
Lovely story. 💕
Good job when a dog wins we all win
There are no bad dogs only bad people. Amen 🙏
I am crying. Because you were willing to take the time she now has a forever home. It does not get better than that.
I work with animals in need of adoption and I always tel new, potential pet parents that they may be scared or shy but you would also be if you went through what they have been through! Give them time and their personality will blossom ❤
Dogs are proof that Angels are real.
A lot of dogs are treated so badly by bad people, that they behave aggressively. All dogs need is love 😢
Dogs like her just needs someone with patience! She was fearful and this lady took the time to develop a bond & the dog associated her with good things as food and comfort.
2:52 How proud she looks! 💗
I'm gonna cry!! That big smile in her adoption photo...I can't :( I'm so happy a loving couple took her in as their new fur daughter ♥may she have a long, loving life filled with treats and lots of playtime ♥
I'm actually so proud to see Sahari here! We went to UC Davis and I remember her being a passionate person about all animals. I'm glad she's still the same :)❤
She is so beautiful. Thanks for taking the time to show how lovely she really is.
Mallionois are very sensitive and need careful and gentle handling. Whoever did this to this beautiful girl needs a good dose of the treatment they gave her! Im so glad she got her forever home ❤
This is why u cant judge a dogs character seeing them in a cage at a shelter!! ❤
Amazing dedication on her part. Because of her patience, she saved that dogs life.
This dog had so much love to give hidden behind her wall of fear.
She's really adorable. You've done a great job Sahari 👍
I'm not cryin, you're cryin.
Thank you to the lady that spent time with her. The dog knew you were kind and special. God bless you.
800 miles, wow, what a dedication to this sweet girl. So glad that she found you and her forever home.
Oh my this brought me to tears ❤ thank you thank you so much for saving her life ❤
She's a lover not a fighter. Bless her heart. So happy she will be loved.
So many dogs and cats cannot tell you the horrors they have suffered often at the hands of humans. Aggression is usually a fear response. I'm so thankful they worked with this beautiful girl. God bless everyone who takes the time to show an animal love in their darkest hour.
Another example is these dogs are fearful in a shelter they just need some TLC ❤. Thank you for saving her !
I have 3 Malinios rescues. Your story is exactly the same with my 3. They are the BEST. But you better be ready to spend TONS of time. Between myself and a friend of my mine. We have rescued 9 Malinios. All with the same story.
Thank you so much for your kind words and love ❤️
Hello how are you doing
They're mammals just like us. They go through so much. Just arriving at a shelter must be so scary from their point of view. Please give these animals the love, patience and kindness they desperately deserve. 💜.
Они этого не заслуживают! Они этого достойны БЕЗУСЛОВНО. просто тем, что они есть❤
I always remind myself that if I was thrown into jail without any reason after being traumatized, I know I would act much worse. In fact after my abusive dad died, I moved in with my grandparents (who were and still are the most stable people I know) and I was a terror for years until I turned 18 and something in my brain finally clicked after a couple near death experiences. No one should judge these animals for who they became in these environments. I understand that not everyone has the capabilities to find the true soul of every dog they meet at the kennel, but I wish their fear response to not become a death sentence.
What a sweetheart! Its horrifying to think what must have happened to make her so frightened. Good job!
That's all anybody needs; humans and animals alike. Patience, patience and then more patience.
What a wonderful story to start a day with.
Most people never associate fear with aggression. I loved how she blossomed.
I got my first malinois two years ago and she is absolutely one of the most affectionate dogs I've ever had. Can't say enough about the breed. So happy to see her in a forever home. I'm trying to work through some similar issues with my dogs fear of certain strangers as well.
I wondered if this was a Malinois. Beautiful dog.
yeh it is@@adrienchandler4906
Is it true they need a minimum of 4 hours of exercise a day?
It’s a Malinios. Beautiful.
That's how I got my cat to trust me. He was abandoned and would hiss and swipe at anyone who walked by. But enough sitting in front of the cage and holding out treats got him to warm up after a few weeks :) Then I took him home!
Hello how are you doing
❤ Love this woman! ❤ Who knows what the dog went through to make her so scared 😢 All it took was someone to work through it with her 🙏
MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY'S ALWAYS FOR BEING SOOOOOO KIND!!!!!!!!🐶🐕🕊😇👵🇺🇸🇮🇱
Lovely the dog found confidence with the woman
I got a rescue just like this. She wasn't as aggressive but if you even looked at her the wrong way, she'd pee in terror. After working with her for about a year, she became the most beautiful, happy go-lucky dog I've ever had the privilege of owning. I love rescues with all my heart.
Well, I have opened the chopped onions again. Dogs are not inherently bad. And in shelters with so many other dogs barking it must be so scary and they do not know what to expect from one minute to another. I am so happy they put the work into just getting her to learn not all people are bad and the life they have led can become so much better. I have been looking into doing this sort of work myself. Love and respect we should always show to all living things. Thank you nugget lady!
So similar to our rescue (Malinois crossbreed who started life on the streets in Romania). She was absolutely terrified of humans when she came to the rescue centre in the UK, and that manifested as aggression. For some reason, she chose me as someone she could trust and 6.5 years later we have a beautiful, loyal family dog.
Is so sad to hear in the background so many dogs crying, barking ... hopefully, all of them find a forever home 😔
Had the same case with a "wild cat". Found putting my face close to hers would calm her instantly: I was putting myself in a vulnerable position so she knew she had nothing to fear ,(,wearing large glasses😂). After 3 years of "behavior reprogramming" she was the friendliest cat I have ever seen.
So awesome! My wife and I rescue cats and we had a ferral cat that literally took us 9 months to acclimate to our house and other cats. It was worth every minute! She's now a little spoiled princess. They just need time and love!
Life is beautiful. The ugliness comes from us. Someone has made this beautiful soul to be afraid and scared.
Pinned up energy. She is a Mallinois. They need 2-4 hours a day of rigorous activity. Great patience, love, and perseverance! Happy New Year. Keep up the graceful work.🙂
Thank you for helping this beautiful girl shine ❤️
What a beautiful transformation. Love is all it takes.
Hello how are you doing today
That is $3000 of dog right there.
Wonderful that she was able to overcome whatever training abuses she was exposed to.
We have gotten quite a few high drive dogs in our local shelters lately and are working to place them inappropriate homes
That's wonderful. The young girl has a good soul. The dog wanted so much to be happy, but was so scared to show it. Liked the video.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for taking up the time with this beautiful baby and teach her that people can love her. I sure wish this for all dogs. The surely deserve a place in our homes and hearts.
I took home a heeler pointer that had the same temperament. He has been my constant companion now for 8 years. Most loyal, loving dog.
she's like: i didn't know i can't trust you 🤗🤗🤗
Animals cannot tell us what they have been through. I hate that we give up on them too easily. Thanks for what you do!
I wish some people would give more dogs a chance and have patience with them when they are going through a difficult time as shown in this story. What may appear as aggression might just be fear or trauma and not necessarily the dog’s personality in every case. ❤
Last owner abused her so badly
So this beautiful dog could not trust anyone or scared everybody.
God bless she found new beautiful owner who does not abuse animals
BEAUTIFUL... ALL ANIMALS NEED LOVE.. NOT HATE AND TREATED WITH HATE
Fantastic story! Wonderful couple working with her! This is the most inspiring video I've seen on Dodo, even more than the amazing people who rehabilitate special needs (injured/birth defects) animals. The magic seemed to happen very quickly with this expert trainer. Bravo!
