Well put. How could I have known when I became obsessed with this band at 15 that they would become such icons of both positivity and consistently good music.
I'm 58 and discovered them when I would have been around 28 and totally loved the band. Of course, I was living at the beach and still living like a teenager and trying to hang on to my youth and 311 takes me to those days. I tell ya, listening to Amber is like a literal time machine and I'm back walking on the beach, scoping out the ladies with a nice buzz or riding Ocean Blvd in my little Suzuki Samurai. Man, it's funny how a song can instantly transport you to a specific place and time. 311 sounds just as good today as they did back then. Nick seems to be in great shape and taking care of himself. Kudos to these guys, must really care for each other because it is super RARE for bands to last even half this time without a plethora of lineup changes.
