I had a chance to roadie for Weezer during the WARP tour back in 2000 at Ventura Fairgrounds. They played on the stage my brother and I were loading/unloading on, and as we grabbed their gear off the trailer my brother introduce me to Rivers. I fanboy-ed a second there and Rivers asked me if i wanted a beer. I looked at my brother to make sure it was ok, and he was like, "drink it dumbass!" I sat there awkwardly drinking a Corona while Rivers loaded his own gear with my brother to the stage. I'll never forget that memory, thanks Weezer.

I don't normally leave comments that express how i'm emotionally feeling after watching the video but I just couldn't resist this time. It made me think about when I was in high school and this album came out, I played it religiously everyday, learning every lyric and singing along loudly in my room in full blast. It was a perfect album and even at that tender age, I knew it in my heart. The memory of experiencing this band and music has changed from just a kid discovering exciting music to an emotionally resonant and touching life experience. Now, as a new father, I think about if my kids can have a similar type of experience when they get older. The excitement I had, opening the CD up and studying the minimal booklet inside. The ability to go on a journey and listen to an album all the way through and not just listen to "singles". The silliness of singing the wrong lyrics because I heard it wrong and only later realizing what was really said. My eyes tear up to think about the musical landscape now and what the artificial future may bring. I deeply hope that there will be some sort of course adjustment to where we are heading but that's out of my hands.
I just want my kids to be able to think back to their childhood and have their own weezer moment like I had. Thanks Weezer.

I’m also 54. I also worked at tower records in LA in 89 (Westwood store).
I heard the blue album when it came out and instantly fell in love with it.
Around that time I also fell in love with a girl. She had a sister that had a two year old son. As time went by …and by default …I became that kids role model. He was like a sponge that soaked up everything about me. I taught him to play guitar.. and by the time he was in high school he’d become a truly gifted guitarist. Btw..I married his aunt and became his uncle.
Then one night ….randomly…tragically….he died in a car accident.
He was wearing an orange Weezer shirt when he died.
And so …I have always wanted a weezer shirt ..but I could never find one.
It’s funny but …Weezer ..was a common ground for me and my nephew.
I love The minutemen, Bad Brains, Fishbone, X, Black Sabbath, Hendrix, the Beatles, Tom waits, Rakim, KRS one, T-Rex, the velvet underground etc etc
And my nephew loved ..Minus the bear, Built to spill, Death cab, Band of Horses and bands like blink 182 and rage against the machine when he was a kid.
But Weezer…..Weezer is where we came together. Weezer was foundational.
And so thank you 🙏 ..thank you so much ❤️
Your music had an enormously positive and profound impact on my nephews life. And mine too. And on our relationship.
His name is Micah Lira. There’s one vid of him playing guitar on TH-cam. It’s just a random tune he wrote. He was planning on using his TH-cam channel just to save music pieces he wrote so he wouldn’t forget them.
    Of course I cherish it.
Btw years later me and his aunt had a daughter. And of course …she grew up loving Weezer. My wife took her to see you guys. She cried lol.
    Anyway….Viva Weezer ⚡️
    Love ya ❤

Went to concert in Orlando on the 20th. Sat next to a 12 year old with his mom on my left. My husband and I did not hold back our rocking. But the way I engaged with this young person over the music and jamming. Singing. This dude knew every single one of your songs. It was magical. Weezer. You made magic. I’ll always remember this concert for just seeing you but also that young guy loving the music right there with us . Some things surpass time. Your talent, Rivers, is that sound.

I got to see Rivers Cuomo play his first ever solo acoustic set at Agave in Avon, Colorado (2/19/2018) with around only 25 other people because he was in town and felt like finally doing it and reached out to the venue only a few days in advance. A massive winter storm blew in and nobody came out because the roads were so nasty. Agave was already giving the tickets away because it wasn't about making money on the show, they were so stoked that he reached out and wanted to play. I had two tickets given to me from the booking manager for the club and I couldn't give the other one away to anyone. I went alone and it was an amazing story teller set with just him, a guitar and a stool to sit on up on the stage. Hands down one of the best shows I've ever been so lucky to find out about and get to go to.

Isn't this friend Bell wasting his time, huh? hahahahahaha on Instagram there are photos of their relationship, he has a good time with that young girl, with big blue eyes and him with green eyes. They don't have children, nothing like that, they are not married apparently, but it's very bad they don't see each other, but In my opinion, their relationship is already greedy, I hope that girl isn't with him out of convenience.
