    Nice review young man! I’m picking mine up this Wednesday 6/12/24 and I can’t wait! GT Silver Red Top.

    Love this video. The look on your face Seb when you first open her up is priceless. You were expecting sooooo much more of a noise. Then the auto blip was like non existent and your face said it all yet you remained polite and respectful about it throughout! Lovely looking car but I’ll 110% stick with my 981 Spyder. Nothing on earth beats that noise and exhaust note!!

    Cool owner till you started driving. Haha
    Very nice of him to share his inputs. Didn’t realize this was literally a version of a GT4. Pretty awesome.
    14:00 That guy your camera guy or from your team ?

    Get the JCR-titanium OPF delete pipes non silenced, and you'll get the great sound you want.

    Having owned 3 Porsche Boxsters with a fully electric roof I could not imagine going back to manual

    No need to be two persons.

    Lovely spec.
    Gentian blue is very classy
    BTW not sure if it's the same situation in GT4/Spyder but on the GT3 the plastic front splitter is actually very cheap (sand easy to fit) as they know they get scraped so often.
    Totally agree that the sports seat plus are better for a regularly used car over either version of the buckets.
    Way way more comfy and so much easier to get in and out of - however it's the likes of your YT colleagues who are to blame for the fact almost every man and his dog chooses the buckets as every review they announce "buckets are a must have or the car is unsaleable" (whichfhollowing the market shows is clearly not the case)

    I'm stuck between purchasing GT4 vs a Lotus final edition 420. What are your thoughts Seb?also.....I live in Cannes. Id be very interested if your old 380 ever becomes for sale. I know your friend owns it, but I'd be willing to crunch numbers if the owner is interested.

      GT4. No debate. I had been looking at the Lotus (test drove 380), they are very quick but interior and build quality for the price is poor…GT4 gives you all that performance in a beautiful interior. I have GT4 on order

      @@cephasmakuzva Actually UK is a totally different market Porsche cars are generally much more affordable there, plus overall price is lower. Here RP for a 718 Spyder with good specs, is 115/120k Euro. Btw over the last few months, due to general unavailbility of new cars, used prices rose a bit

      @@robertosacchi689 it was the actual porsche dealer who had a client who wanted a delivery millage car with high spec and the only car they knew was a 6 month old 4500 mile car so they phoned him up and said 'we'll offer you over sticker to get out of it'. Shows they got very very little new cars coming if thats the best they could do for 'find me a delivery millage car please'.

    • @hbullock
      @hbullock 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Speedster roof is the same (sells for over $300kUS). I don’t think they care about people who care about the roof. :)

    • @girarcat
      @girarcat 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hbullock they should, though. If you have a look into online Porsche forums you'll see plenty of people prefering the Boxster GTS over the Spyder only because of the annoying roof.

    • @hbullock
      @hbullock 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      All the spyders are instantly spoken for, and I don’t recall seeing posts on the rennlist spyder/gt4/gts forum complaining about the roof, that I have seen (although I’m sure there are some). Since I’m 6 months out from my spyder showing up, all I have to do is surf the forum. lol And watch TH-cam, obviously. Bottom line: I can’t see that the roof has actually cost them a single sale. Resale is well over sticker. But the pandemic shortages have obviously thrown a huge wrench in supply, so the water is muddied. At some point of volume production, I’m sure the roof would start to matter, but that point is nowhere in sight. I might suggest gts people are making excuses rather than rationales, given the popularity and exclusivity of the model.

    • @girarcat
      @girarcat 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hbullock well of course all Spyders are sold out considering its limited production and shortage issues. Regarding the manual top, I guess it all depends on your previous experiences and how you inted to use the car. If you come from a convertible with an electric roof or a manual one that can be easily operated on the move you'll certainly miss it, especialy if you use the car daily. If you only plan to drive the Spyder on short sunny weekend blasts, then you won't even need a roof at all. Enjoy your Spyder!

    • @hbullock
      @hbullock 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I am super excited, if it ever arrives. lol I’ve had 2 boxster s before (back in the day), and I fully appreciate the convenience of a power top. But, as you pointed out, it’s a limited run model with a special purpose. If they meant every boxster driver to get a spyder, it wouldn’t have those amazing humps, a GT suspension and brakes, and cost $95k plus. It is exactly what they wanted it to be, meant for exactly the kind of people that would want it. Just like the speedster. Your desire for a power top is of course 100% valid, and that’s why there is a 4L gts. But they designed the spyder for the loonies, and us loonies like it just like it is. :)
