If it's on Epic, then it hasn't released as far as I'm concerned.
Yeah, for real, it doesn't exist in my world, until a Steam or GOG release.
How absolutely pathetic..
@@Tacitus_kilgore_1903 indeed, exclusives are pathetic
If it's not on Steam with zero requirements for a second launchers it doesn't exist to me either.
@@Rishi1Ishi2Motono what's pathetic is grown men crying like children and stomping their little feets demanding everything is done the way they want it...but but I want it here not there... I don't want to click a different icon don't you know who I am?... get lives
Let's not forget it's partially the publisher's fault as well. EGS offered Larian for exclusivity of Baldur's Gate 3 as well but they didn't take the money and gave EGS the L. Not every publisher is as consumer friendly unfortunately.
No its entirely on them. Just because someone offers does not mean you say yes. If someone says "ill give you 10k if you do a bad thing" then you accept your still doing a bad thing.
@@ronaldmahan8417what
When will people realize that Epic Game "Store" the reason I put that in quotes is because it's NOT a store front it's a glorified launcher that needs to GO. AWAY.
At least its not made by a santa claus knock off
Just don't use it its that easy, but keep crying
@@smurfie8412he probably doesn't? Say it to the people who do.
EGS absolutely does NOT have better quality control than Steam considering they openly allow NFT garbage on their storefront.
Epic: steam is a monopoly
Also epic: we are going to hold these games you can only buy from us
Okay….
Okay…..
Kingdom Hearts hasn't released on the PC for the past 4 years and now it's finally on Steam. This is how I treat every game that decides to go with EGS. It's very simple: you want my money? you put it on Steam.
There are thousands of threads as to why and people who say "it's just a launcher bro" are either trolling or completely unaware of the situation.
So far as I am concerned if they go Epic exclusive to later put it on steam its an old game. I won't pay more than 35$ for old games.
Epic is literally applying console manufacturer behaviour into the PC market. With the whole exclusives thing. You know that has already been proved as an out dated business model. Developers are going to do what's best for their games not the corporate entity.
And then Epic claims "they're monopoly" to all of their competitors. Apple, Google, you name it. It's ridiculous.
I've spent thousands on Steam. Zero on Epic. And never will.
same here
none cares
@@gamerbeast3616Keep licking epic boot
@@gamerbeast3616 correction. Everyone cares.
Same and goes for literally every gamer I know
oh a torrent exclusive
😂
now that kh released on steam there is 0 to no reason to look at epic
Less than nothing 🤣
type shit, the only reason I even got that hoe installed is cuz they holding my car soccer hostage and a steam key for that bitch a few hundred bucks smh. And the free games they be givin out, I won't front they drop some bangers on us every now and then, but they few and far between, they pretty much just try to inflate your library with garbage and a few goodies to give you a reason to keep it installed
True
Lucky me: I have a ps5.
we even get a whole stream dedicated to it by Square Enix and an unique keyblade to boot... its like Square Enix admit that EGS is crap lol
let them find out the hard way again
You can't even put a profile image on EGS and they only just got the feature called a "shopping cart"
Shopping cart thing is rumor, I've seen epic for a couple years, shopping cart was there. That being there are no proper reviews, no game stats no gifting still.
@@DragonOfTheMortalKombat it's no "rumor". Literally plastered "new feature: shopping cart" last year on their front page, even got several gamejourno articles covering exactly that.
Exactly, the friends list looks so depressing without pfps.
@@TheRibbonRedI’ve been on epic for a while cause of Fortnite and never had the issue with the shopping cart?
Epic is treated as bloatware for a reason. The console fanboys who are forced to a singular market will never understand what having a choice in buying power is like with their mindset.
Pc gets GTA & Rdr years after release every trip. What choice? Literally late to the main event every trip
@@johnblicky5966Yawn
These companies just don't understand how petty we PC gamers are. We'll wait as long as it takes for a game to come to the platform that WE prefer rather than the ones that you tell us to use. Then there's the other subset of gamers (me) who because we've played so many games that are better than anything coming out now, we not only feel no rush to buy a game on another platform but we intentionally wait for the games to go on sale. and I take all this even further because I don't even consider a game if it forces me to use a separate launcher after buying it on Steam. If a game I buy requires a separate launcher then 100% of the time I refund it. Because I don't care and have other games to play. It doesn't matter how good the game is either. It can be a 10/10 game but if it inconveniences me to play it then it might as well be a 0/10.
8:55 the quality control is the 2hr non negotiable refund policy... if you get scammed and play a game that is slop just refund it. (Edit: there are literally a series of people speedrunning games with the title "can i beat X game and still refund it" due to the refund policy) also there are plenty of NFT centered games that got the greenlight on epic when they were turned down by steam.
These console fanboys arguing with PC player but they forgetting that these companies are not entitled to our money. Most people at this point have a massive backlog so one game wouldn't make any difference to them. 😂😂
pretty much every ubisoft release I miss because they don't release at the same time on steam, they definitly lose out on sales.
XDefiant was definitely near dead on arrival, since casuals usually just want Steam as their one platform, whereas sweats won't care about the extra launcher
So, what you're saying is that lords of the fallen isn't getting a sequel. What a shame.
Anyways, back to looking forward to Lies of P's sequel.
Selloutnite was a plague on the whole industry already, but of course that wasn't enough.
I don't get it, can someone explain the issue with egs? I use it for return to moria and have 0 issues
I mean it’s clear lords of the fallen is being rebooted not hard to understand. But gonna be waiting on this until it comes to steam or gamepass
It's on Epic!? Oh well, another lost cause.
its been a lost cause since the beginning. the franchise was always bad
@@skiez7430 Glad to know we're losing nothing of value 😊
I'd sooner quit gaming for good than use Epic.
I also love Epic accusing Steam of being a monopoly, while already running their store as if they were a monopoly.
Such a horrible idea from CI Games to hold Hexworks hostage like this. Lords of the Fallen (2023) was a really solid revival of the series and now it’s going to die.
The game didn't really do well. Pc port was trash. Stutter mess, this means it will come out later on steam. This means we will get a better version. They can get money from epic to make a pc version that isn't trash.
@@raven80wolfx2 the game sold 1.2M copies in a month. For a franchise reboot, that’s pretty good. It broke even within the first month. The game’s total budget was $65M. I also played the game on PC. It was rough at launch but runs entirely fine now. There’s been a ton of optimization passed on the game.
@@raven80wolfx2 you are not aware of how willing epic is to throw money at the problem.
@@DragonOfTheMortalKombat and despite nearly 6 years of doing that, Epic is still unaware that throwing money into the problem won't ever solve the problem. It just makes it worse for everyone in different ways, including themselves.
@theyoungjawn Keyword is it's fine now. It's been about a year since the game came out. People still complain about the performance. I am talking about the quality of the game at launch. It will be better to launch when it comes out on steam. It will be cheaper too.
quality control, lol, they literally sell broken NFT games
Epic Games Store fans are almost as bad as Sony fans.
It's likely Sony fans defending it.
I'm gonna be real, I use both steam and epic games literally don't notice e a difference in performance or anything, my info? Bro who cares literally everything you do is selling your info and my info and yours is 100% already out there. Don't like it don't use it that simple, but stop crying about it
@@springtrapnibba Epic Game store fans get more dumb every year.
@GameZard nice insulting someone without even offering a shred of reasoning to back up your statement, good one a great way to show why you are correct and I'm wrong 😉
I dont understand how so many people in positions of power don't seem to realize something super basic: If you make a lot of money, you can have an ego, but you can't use your ego to make money.
Just one more game that I will never buy. When are these Publishers going to learn that PC players do not like or use the epic game store
So the next Lords of the Fallen won't release on pc? No problem.
Simple, put on all of the PC stores. Then you'll see, which store is the most profitable.
Guess who will be at top? PC gamers know it, now publishers.
But then the lazy devs/publishers won't get their money upfront, and have to worry about sales.
If they really cared about fair competition and value for services, they would do this. GoG has drm free stuff and run by CDPR, Steam has been a huge pioneer on how to run a digital distribution service with the biggest market share. all epic has is a crappy store, exclusivity deals no customers actually like, and a bigger share of profits that may or may not go to funding devs.
@@RED_Theory038 I've seen a lot of good & promising indie to AA titles announced in SGF & Steam Next Fest that are doing this. So yeah, only the legit ones don't take exclusivity.
Fun fact, I had an extremely brief Fortnite addiction.
Why was it extremely brief?
Because about 4 days into it I *couldn't get the game to launch.*
After that shit with SHENMUE 3 on PC, I forever said "FUCK EPIC" and have supported the cause ever since. Fans got BURNED HARD on that game and i sympathize with anyone waiting DECADES for a game THEY DREAMED OF HAVING!
I'm gonna say this, Tim Sweeney is the WORST person involved with gaming imo. Jim Ryan & Neil Druckmann are tied for second place imo.
What epic and many of its defenders don't realize is steam isn't the only competent storefront. If steam started angering pc players, they would switch to gog within less than a minute. Valve knows that, so their entire strategy is keeping everyone happy so they keep getting money.
What a terrible business move lol it aint like its a good franchise anyways
This last game was great
@@fgpt4828 After playing elden ring. it felt tedious
I have so many games to get through. I doesn't matter how long something takes to get to Steam.
Idk what surprises me more, that Epic has fanbois, or that they want exclusives after Alan Wake failing to turn profit.
To be fair, Alan Wake 2 had it's own problems regardless of what storefront, or alleged storefront it came to. Releasing exclusive to the alleged storefront didn't help, though.
I don't mind EGS personally, but I hate this news for the game because this means that most people will avoid it automatically, thus leaving a smaller player base and a worse experience for everyone who will play it
Nobody will buy this game on the epic game store. Releasing your game exclusively to that platform is a death sentence for your company
@@kenshinhimura9387 true af. It's epic fault for making themselves the free game store without improving service, experience, UI, features etc that are all Better on steam.
8:53 this guy clearly has never opened egs once... its full of crap low quality nft games like dinodash.
Low key the fella who said he buys his games on gog and epic and doesn’t really care where it goes is so fucking based dude. Genuinely a fucking light bulb in a pitch black room. Like steam still has its problems that must be addressed such as steams subtle drm system where if steam goes down tomorrow millions of games could be lost forever. Where gog prides itself on being drm free. Still not really anyway to justify epic though. Hopefully they realize in another business cycle that the epic store can’t compete with steam and they make it at least a lil better (probably not)
Didn’t lords of the fallen already come out? I’m confused
Yes.
It's Lords of the Fallen 2 that's going to be EGS exclusive
@@RH-Gl21 It's 3 actually
It’s a reboot
Hahahahahaha, I can't get over how fried that Eric guy's brain seems.
What in the bloody fuckin' hell is his profile picture?
Another banger, cheers Joey!
"Quality control on egs" right, like this egs gem I found called OpenSeason
I bought Kingdom Hearts collection on steam, just to say F you to EGS.
I own ganes on EGS, but mostly Steam. That said, exclusivity is bunk
the lords have fallen *meme man face*
Lord of the fallen two just came out on Xbox game pass . So this makes no sense.
This is absolutely stupid. I have both LoTF and liked them, I even recommend the 2023 version.
I know that they do it for the money, but c'mon, they are ruining their numbers, when it comes out to Steam how many people will care, besides Unreal and Fortnite, I don't use Epic for anything else.
I love how often TheGenericParrot pops up in your videos.
Maybe they expect it to sell poorly, and epic offered them more money for the exclusivity than what they expect to do with sales
When Epic Game Store first launched, I was happy to give it a try because I like to see more competition in the market. Then it became clear that the people running it are the same corpo asshat types who don't like, or care about gaming. They'll play stupid anti-consumer games on a trash storefront to try to maximize their profits. Well here's my game. I claim every free game givaway on Epic, even though I never play them, and never buy anything. I just hope it helps out the smaller dev teams who tend to make those titles at the expense of EGS.
Well guess i don't have to worry about buying it
Untitled Goose Game is the only EGS timed exclusive that didn't suffer as a result of the decision. Probably because it was quirky enough to get attention outside of gaming circles.
If it's not even going to appear on GOG at least, it may very well not exist 😂
Exclusive to epic games for the "entire product life cycle" another wards It's going to flop hard no one buys games on epic unless they are a corprite shill game devs really are allergic to money
*Does anyone know how to force stop Epic store?* I be trying to play Wuthering Waves or Fortnite recently and there is a huge chance that the store will not launch the game. Then constantly giving notifications saying technical difficulties. It's like launching the game bricks the entire storefront😅 The only solution is to restart my whole fuking PC.
That chinesium DRM working as intended.
Might test EGS on my Linux rig some day, just because it can't do anything shady on this free OS. :D
Console fanboys really aren't the brightest bulbs in the box. They think it's all about the exclusivity aspect, because that's they care about with consoles. The fact PCMR "whines" as much as they do is why they don't get walked all over like they do on console, because they lack standards.
People wondering why people do t like the store don’t use the store enough
Epic has fanboys?
Companies that let their games be Epic exclusives literally don't give a fuck about their player base. They just want money. They stole From Softwares idea of Dark Souls, put another coat of paint on it and now are selling EGS exclusives lmao.
Wouldn't they want more people to play their game than have slightly more money initially? Weak
It's on Epic Games because technically it's a first party game, like with Alan Wake 2. Epic isn't paying for exclusivity, they are paying for the PC port's existence. Not that I would ever consider buying on EGS. Not on Steam = not on PC.
No, in case of Alan Wake 2 they are paying for the existence of whole game not just pc port.
Saying that is just encouraging a steam monopoly.
Shouldn’t we encourage competition in the marketplace?
FFS, Lords of the Fallen has such a hard time already, even people who like it (me included) have to agree that it's pretty flawed, so putting it behind an extra gate is the worst move possible
I wished i'd played the unreal tournament games before they shut down
Like if egs can figure out how to market their games better they could get more people on board. That’s what steam has over literally every other store front. They are incredibly fucking good at selling the games. It’s crazy sometimes how good it is to get me interested in a game and something I would be willing to buy if I had the money. Only problem I have is that it feels impossible to find fun games to play with my friends online. That’s the only part I don’t like.
Steam could be called a monopoly (I mean it's not) but it is because people WANT to use steam, not because they HAVE to use steam. Steam is just a great service and no one can deny it.
This kinda sucks I actually really liked lords of the fallen from the lamp mechanic to the story
Kingdom hearts fans eating good now that the games are finally moving over to Steam
Not my problem. There are hundreds of other games I haven't played yet that are also good games. Guess I'll check this game out if it ever comes to PC with 70% discount.
This isn't Elden Ring or GTA 6.
I've bought games on Steam I got for free on Epic out of pure not wanting to use the platform.
10:46 Just how people are saying "you are crying" and "you are coping" in the comments because you disagree with him and say your genuine opinion about something.
If you're going to make your game exclusive, make sure it's actually good.
Maybe Xbox can convince the devs of Lords of the Fallen to put it on Game pass which WILL put it on the xbox store front as well. Their launcher is so much better than Epic's; the main problem the Xbox app has is how it installs games which makes modding them a nightmare if not impossible. The game from last year is on pc game pass now as well so that has me slightly hopeful that Xbox will just stop this with a gamepass deal. I'm willing to bet the money they got for last year's game is what's making this game get a confirmed sequel so fast.
Lords of the fallen 1 was already shitty enough, who even cares about a sequel wtf
oh well I'll just pirate it since they force my hand
God i hope CI wisen the fuck up, lords was finally their one truly great game after years of mediocrity to absolute slop dating back to early 2000s, i fuckin love lords, felt very dark souls 2 and i want to see this series succeed, but god its gonna be doa when they're already fighting an uphill battle with just getting prople to take the game seriously
Give it 6 months or 1 year until the game leaves EGS, like EVERY OTHER GAME IN THE FUCKING PLANET, also Here's some games and controversies with the games with EGS
1. Borderlands
- The reason why it was on epic was because 2K (publisher) is a greedy shitstain of a company, and the ge was a buggy disaster
2. Ooblets
- The devs of Ooblets PROMISED tooth and nail that it wont be on Epic, but rather on steam... (Spoilers: it was a LIE), the devs has attacked supporters, while EPIC has defended the devs for attacking the supporters by saying "It was AWESOME!"
3. DARQ (weird title, but eh)
- The dev said he will put the game on EGS if the game can be sold on both Steam and Epic (which he knows Steam got many players), Epic refused and wanted the game on EGS only... the dev refused and putted the game on Steam, he got A LOT of support after that
4. Metro: Exodus
- The devs has threatened to put their next game on Epic and not on Steam if they boycott... let me tell you about fans, if fans will boycott if a game got Sweet Baby Inc or any DEI in the game... then fans will not hesitate to boycott another, even without DEI
The list goes on and on... also the EGS hasn't been profitable since day 1... so yeah, if it doesn't scream scam or low effort, idk
It'll be funny when the game doesn't reach even 5% of its sales expectations from PC customers. Remember Alan Wake 2, anyone?
what game is this please

Lords of the Fallen 2023 was already CI Games chance to come back. It was basically a sequel to the original game. And they flopped hard. The game was super average. Now they're going with EpicGames? This company ahhh man idk 😂
