Gotta say Nintendo's was soooo mid. I don't get the hype, I think it's just copium honestly, there was nothing new announced that was interesting, 90% was remasters. It was better than Sony's but that's not saying much. It's probably the worst one they've ever done
I do feel stuck on console because of my library of games and the history of my account on Xbox. I think Phil Spencer was onto something when he said how gamers will stay with their libraries and all that, so it doesn't entirely matter if Xbox had the better console and better exclusive games only on that console. PC players would stay on PC, and PlayStation players would stay on PlayStation. Just like how I'll likely stay on Xbox for the rest of my life or until it shuts down. If somehow my gaming history and library were to suddenly matter on PC, then I'd make the switch. Currently, I own about five games on Steam? Still like a level one account? I can't be bothered to start over again.

@@HulkAMaineiac PCSX2 is the emulator for that last I checked, unless there is a better one now. All you need pretty much is the bios file + some .iso images of games to load in the emulator. After that it is all just configuring graphics and stuff like telling it if u wanna use dx or opengl that kind of thing. If you go to website of whichever emulator you use, normally they have a rom list which lists all compatible games and any recommended settings for them which are needed for a more accurate experience.

I love every console, I own every console, and I own a gaming pc. I just love gaming. That being said Sony sucks and their fans are the worst of all 4 of the major gaming platform fanbases.
It was bad before. Their issue is rooted in the fact they are 100% reliant on 3rd party exclusives and companies are dropping those deals left right and centre because they don’t make money. We saw from the insomniac leak that not even the most successful PlayStation exclusives are enough to sustain development costs.
@@kjh4496 The development costs aren't even the big problem for the Spiderman games, it's the royalties and contracts they have with Disney that make it near impossible to make that product profitable. And for the other games they make, there's not enough ps5 consoles in homes (still a lot are in warehouses of scalpers) and those that are are barely buying games. It's no coincidence they're pushing pc releases, because that the only thing saving their company right now. It sucks for them, but it is what it is.

They Showcase games at a state of play, which is a dictionary definition, but Sony uses Showcase to reveal bigger titles while they use state of play to showcase smaller titles. It is 2024, and there is only 1 game on the PS5 that I'd want to play, that being the Demon Souls Remaster.. Meanwhile new Doom is awesome, and new Mario and Luigi game after 9 years since Paper Jam actually made me tear up (M&L is my favorite series), and Metroid Prime 4 was finally shown after 7 years of development hell. State of play was so nothing I legit didn't even know Sony had a presentation.
I love how the Ponies act like games are no longer good if the studio was acquired. He couldn't state when the last good Sony show was, so he attacked Xbox with classic what about ism.
The Xbox Showcase was easily the best, but Nintendo showing Prime 4 + a new Mario & Luigi was enough for me! And if we're being honest, Sony didn't have much in 2023 either outside of Spider-Man 2, and who knows what will release in 2025. But Sony knows they can cruise along with little effort & not face the same criticism others would. They're complacent, just like they were to start the PS3 era, only now they know they have locked-in brand loyalty. No risk of players going to Xbox, so who cares?
Joe just to point out the Gears trailers was not CGI. It was made the exact same way as the trailers from the first three games. As in everything shown in the trailer was ingame engine.

I never forgave Sony for giving up on the Vita. I skipped over the Playstation and Playstation 2 while they were out, but I bought a PS3 and PSP because I thought they were so cool. Sony struggled with the systems the whole time, but did everything they could to make them the greatest underdog systems of all time. When they threw up their arms and immediately gave up on the Vita, they stopped being the company that fought against the odds in my eyes. I never bought a PS4 or PS5 because of it.

Unless you think the original Halo Infinite reveal was an accurate depiction of the game we got there as well. That trailer was "in engine" as well. Just like this Gears E-day trailer.
You seem to be under the impression that we wanna see gameplay because we wanna just "see how the game looks" and that this argument is about quality. No, it's about game feel, could not give less of a fuck about how the characters look, the cutscenes could look as shitty as a 2001 Bond game. The point is, how does it feel to play the game. Gameplay is what's important, how a game looks is only important if you only watch movies and are taking a dip into gaming with narrative based David Cage games. Everyone who's been playing games all their lives will tell ya, in engine cutscenes matter about as much as how they're used, and these days most of the time it's to distract from how shit the rest of the gameplay actually feels. The quality of cutscenes matter very little because they're judged in an entirely different way to gameplay, that they're in engine is nice, to call it gameplay is to piss in the coffee of everyone who's beaten a Souls game

Sony did mention earlier in the year that they had no main first party games to announce to be released this year. While I am not defending them, I am only mentioning it as they made it clear to not expect much this year.

Bruh even as a Sony fan myself with PS5 I can confidently say they fucked up this generation so hard. They put all their cards into these massive big budget games then have zero smaller games to help pad out the droughts in between for development time. And then even when those massive games come out THEY STILL CANT MAKE BACK THE COST IN SALES. I used to be so excited but not anymore. I’m thankfully also a Nintendo fan and they have been killing it surprisingly even so close to the end of the switches lifespan. This time, we actually saw gameplay. *South of Midnight* - Gameplay trailer + in-game cinematic *Expedition 33* - First time reveal, Gameplay & CG trailer *Gears of War: E-Day* - First Time reveal, CG trailer, using in-engine assets *Doom: the Dark Age* - First time reveal, Gameplay + in-engine cinematics *Black Ops 6* - First time reveal, Gameplay + CG trailer *Starfield: Shattered Space DLC* - First time reveal, Gameplay + in-engine trailer These are just off the top of my head. Mix of first time reveals + announcement + gameplay previews + CG / in-engine trailers, etc. And that's not including games we already saw gameplay of that got additional looks like Avowed & Indiana Jones, or even more 3rd party announcements. Just had to interject this here, the Gears trailer wasn't CG. It was rendered in game, and to say it was CG is very misleading and downplays the technicality of the trailer. The quality you see is close to the high end quality you'll see in game. Just had to point that out there
Hi-fi Rush was successful, but it wasn't that successful, and it probably didn't make enough money either. It was an anime game, anime games are niche, alot of people don't like or play anime games. It's mostly just people that watch anime and also game that play anime games. Also, from what I've been hearing when the founder of Tango left half the employees went with him, so even if Microsoft hadn't bought them they probably would've closed down anyway (correct me if I'm wrong about that though).
Man the fanboys defending the showcases are idiots, theres honestly no difference between showcases and State of plays anymore. They only had a difference back in in that 2021 Sept Showcase, State of Plays were more of only 1 game should 3 others for a minute. I watched both Xbox and PlayStation shows and Xbox was far more interesting and exciting with every trailer even the small games got attention because of how good the show was

sony state of play was a 4.5 out of 10 for me . but on xbox the show was 8.5 and nintendo at first place 9.5 out of 10 for me it had all my games anime games and rpg games and marvel vs capcom 2 IS FREE i am hype for marvel and off core metroid 4 but marvel stolen the show
I did not know there was an anti PlayStation youtube channel around these days. Feels nostalgic though, I was a battle hardened soldier in the 360 vs ps3 console wars era, and this feels like some continuation of it. That said, PlayStation is obviously doing incredibly well as a brand currently, 2024 is a slower year for big titles, but that's about it.
Xbox killed it but using a dead franchise in Gears of War as a main example over and over of how Xbox is winning is just not it kid. Focus on the tons of other amazing looking games not that one.

There was one time Xbox released some games for PS and it was only 4, not to mention they were basically all multiplayer, and they didn’t release any of their major series either. Xbox’s lineup is looking a lot better than Sony’s this year, not to mention there’s more games, just look up upcoming exclusives for both consoles and you’d see. Most of my friends are there 🤷♀️
Luckily for Xbox, pretty much all games are cross-platform and cross-save. I would say half of my friends play on Xbox and the other half on PC.

Anybody could be on either PC or Xbox and emulate both up to Wii and PS2 games and still have their respective platform libraries

I was kiddding before lol but if I was actually being serious I would say GT7 + PSVR2 / RE4&RE8 VR are unbelievable and truly amazing, one of the few things in gaming that make me really feel like I’m doing something new. There’s also DEATH STRANDING 2 and hopefully some other stuff…I was excited for Wolverine even though I don’t like superhero’s but the leaks are disconcerting
Anyway I think console war stuff is stupid at this point in my life I’ve had basically all major consoles except for a switch and I just like the hardware form factor and the games those bring about…more console competition == better games which is why I’m sad to see Xbox in the state it is in

I love every console, I own every console, and I own a gaming pc. I just love gaming. That being said Sony sucks and their fans are the worst of all 4 of the major gaming platform fanbases.
Sony has been absolutely horrible since the American arm took the helm.
It was bad before. Their issue is rooted in the fact they are 100% reliant on 3rd party exclusives and companies are dropping those deals left right and centre because they don’t make money.
We saw from the insomniac leak that not even the most successful PlayStation exclusives are enough to sustain development costs.
@@kjh4496 The development costs aren't even the big problem for the Spiderman games, it's the royalties and contracts they have with Disney that make it near impossible to make that product profitable.
And for the other games they make, there's not enough ps5 consoles in homes (still a lot are in warehouses of scalpers) and those that are are barely buying games.
It's no coincidence they're pushing pc releases, because that the only thing saving their company right now.

It is 2024, and there is only 1 game on the PS5 that I'd want to play, that being the Demon Souls Remaster.. Meanwhile new Doom is awesome, and new Mario and Luigi game after 9 years since Paper Jam actually made me tear up (M&L is my favorite series), and Metroid Prime 4 was finally shown after 7 years of development hell.

I never forgave Sony for giving up on the Vita. I skipped over the Playstation and Playstation 2 while they were out, but I bought a PS3 and PSP because I thought they were so cool. Sony struggled with the systems the whole time, but did everything they could to make them the greatest underdog systems of all time. When they threw up their arms and immediately gave up on the Vita, they stopped being the company that fought against the odds in my eyes. I never bought a PS4 or PS5 because of it.

Unless you think the original Halo Infinite reveal was an accurate depiction of the game we got there as well. That trailer was "in engine" as well. Just like this Gears E-day trailer.
You seem to be under the impression that we wanna see gameplay because we wanna just "see how the game looks" and that this argument is about quality. No, it's about game feel, could not give less of a fuck about how the characters look, the cutscenes could look as shitty as a 2001 Bond game. The point is, how does it feel to play the game. Gameplay is what's important, how a game looks is only important if you only watch movies and are taking a dip into gaming with narrative based David Cage games. Everyone who's been playing games all their lives will tell ya, in engine cutscenes matter about as much as how they're used, and these days most of the time it's to distract from how shit the rest of the gameplay actually feels. The quality of cutscenes matter very little because they're judged in an entirely different way to gameplay, that they're in engine is nice, to call it gameplay is to piss in the coffee of everyone who's beaten a Souls game

Sony did mention earlier in the year that they had no main first party games to announce to be released this year. While I am not defending them, I am only mentioning it as they made it clear to not expect much this year.

They put all their cards into these massive big budget games then have zero smaller games to help pad out the droughts in between for development time. Just had to interject this here, the Gears trailer wasn't CG. It was rendered in game, and to say it was CG is very misleading and downplays the technicality of the trailer. The quality you see is close to the high end quality you'll see in game.

Hi-fi Rush was successful, but it wasn't that successful, and it probably didn't make enough money either. It was an anime game, anime games are niche, alot of people don't like or play anime games. It's mostly just people that watch anime and also game that play anime games. Also, from what I've been hearing when the founder of Tango left half the employees went with him, so even if Microsoft hadn't bought them they probably would've closed down anyway (correct me if I'm wrong about that though).

Feels nostalgic though, I was a battle hardened soldier in the 360 vs ps3 console wars era, and this feels like some continuation of it. That said, PlayStation is obviously doing incredibly well as a brand currently, 2024 is a slower year for big titles, but that's about it.

And its already June. All ya gettin is timed exclusive Stalker, Avowed & 1st person whipping sim this year. South of Midnignt is a cartoon, & State of Decay lookin like Fortnite. Gears & Perfect Dark have no release window because its not for 2026. State of Play & Sony Showcase arent the same, & September is likely to show more 1st party games, ya know,mfrom 1st party studioss they own that are cookin.....oh yall must think theyre on vacation lol.
