@@askahygienist I was referring to the hismile product (at 4:02) that was endorsed by the Kardashians. I know you’re not recommending that product but that’s what I was referring to. Good video. Your research is well presented.
I thought the PAP+ that you used showed good results after 2 weeks, but your teeth didn't look too bad to start with! As to the blue light device that you bite down on, I tried one a couple of years ago and got a noticeable difference. BUT the problem was that the device wasn't deep enough -- meaning that it didn't fit my teeth all the way to the gum. So I had a halfway look, which I didn't like at all. What I noticed is that all those devices seem to be similar. But the Collgate device doesn't have a barrier down the middle (the part that you bite down on) except out on the sides. So, I'm trying it now, hoping that I can see an improvement on the teeth from tip to gumline.
The waving palms have lightened my teeth atleast 5 shades. My teeth were pretty yellow before and those strips were an absolute life saver. I will say I do see a slight improvement from your pictures but not much. However, I think this is due to the fact your teeth didn't need much whitening in th first place. As for me, it made a HUGE difference.
I have never tried teeth whitening and its sometimes difficult to get anything with strong ingredients because restrictions in my country where i live. I want to try and find something similar ingredients here. Anyway, i looked trough the comments before starting to watch the video and many people seem very angry when they comment, i think you handle the responses really well. It made me wanna stick trough and watch the video for legit advice, i think maybe people are easily angered because when looking for/searching these types of reviews there's lots and lots of fake ad videos. But you seem genuine and honest about what you review. Thanks for the good video! It will help me decide what to get! Hope ollie is available in my country :)
@@askahygienist thank you! All i have found in sweden for whitening ”at home use” are at 0.1% HP max, but i think that small of an amount wont do any help whitening. Maybe ill have to order from abroad. Tomorrow i will see if i can find cheap shipment options :) video was very helpful! Thanks!
No, whitening kits are made of a different material and are not made to be boiled. Moreover, I understand the idea behind making a “custom tray” but specifically for whitening, the process of making a custom tray includes adding a thin layer of material to the teeth mold so that when the tray is made, there is room for whitening solution. Otherwise if you were to use a regular retainer or mouth guard, the whitening solution would squish out.
i noticed that when i used strips, my teeth started to get kind of transparent at the tips. Wheread now when i use gel from the dentist in my retainer, it doesn't do that. Is that just a me thing or is that something about the strips? I preferred them but i was scared i was gonna damage my enamel or something but idk. I feel like if i ask my dentist, he's gonna be maybe biased bc he wants me to buy the gel...but i would value your opinion.
Oh interesting! I’ve never heard of that being a correlation; however I do have to say my teeth are translucent at the edges and I’ve mostly only used strips. However I do have some family members who do not whiten at all and their teeth are translucent as well. It may be more genetic or related to reflux/silent reflux.
Hmm, well crest has always worked for me, but I do wonder how much damage it has done over the years, and it’s not an entirely uncomfortable experience (I’d always get a little shooting pain in gums and/or teeth). I do like the fact that Ollie includes hydroxyapatite, though I can’t speak to how much of a difference it makes long term because I’ve only used one round. I think if I were to whiten again, I would go with Ollie since I know I will get results AND there’s the added hydroxyapatite. I certainly didn’t feel as much sensitivity using them.
Thanks! I just bought Crest Whitening Level 20, 22 treatments 44 strips, from Amazon (the one you've briefly screenshotted in this video). I hope they work to remove some yellowish stains on my front teeth and overall make my teeth whiter. I wasn't sure if I should get the top of the line Crest strips Level 34, it is the one that comes with an extra mouth blue light device at double the price. I don't think I've got any grey teeth looking at the mirror. You're pretty by the way ;)
@@askahygienist That's reassuring! Can't wait to give those strips a shot. If it at least evens out my teeth color and get rid of the yellow splotches, I'll be contented!
Would you do another test whitening test video but try out SNOW instead ? This brand keeps selling out and I want to see if it’s really worth the investment specifically the teeth whitening powder 😅 or at least hear your thoughts about it 😅
First, thanks for clarifying what specific product you were curious about. They have a lot lol. Second, I did reach out to them for some more info. I don’t know that I can do another whitening product review effectively because I’m pretty maxed out on how white my teeth can get lol. That being said, I did take a look at the booster powder ingredients and my initial feedback is as follows: it appears this is a mild abrasive booster to help remove surface stains. There is no actual active whitening ingredient in this formula, so if your teeth are naturally yellow, the intrinsic color will not change. It’s basically like sprinkling yummy baking powder onto your toothpaste to help scrub away stains more effectively. In fact, I would say save yourself some money and start sprinkling baking powder on your toothpaste for the same effect lol. The one thing that got me excited was the first ingredient, CDP aka monocalcium phosphate. It offers the benefit of remineralizing enamel. Buuttt turns out baking powder can also contain MCP. So I stand by my original statement - just use baking powder if you want the same effect for a fraction of the cost lol. In hindsight I could have probably used this product without fear of overwhitening or not seeing results because my teeth are already white - there’s no whitening ingredient in this formula :) hope this helps!
Hmm, I haven’t used crest strips in a while, but from what I remember, crest did cause some significant sensitivity while Ollie (because of the potassium desensitizing ingredient) was more comfortable. In terms of results, both whitened well.
They first ones I tried were complete nonsense, coconuts and lemons definitely don't do anything for teeth! If anything it made them slightly more yellow lol. The Ollie strips are great though I noticed a difference by the 2nd day, very noticeable after 7 days. Teeth are slightly sensitive after use, but nothing compared to the sharp aches and stabs of pain I remember I would get from Crest strips!

As a kid we would boil our sport mouth guards and bite into them to form them to our teeth. Can we do that with the kits to make them more affective?
