As for the manual vs auto debate, I would also add increased RPM at higher speeds, which can be a bit annoying in longer journeys. Went for manual in F30 340i, and I love it to bits, but it's just noisy with mperformance exhaust (stock DP) above 150kph. Fine if you drive alone, but you definitely have to raise a voice if you talk to somebody.

Theres actually an aftermarket bumper for the m340i that is inspired from the M8 and it looks sick. Better put that on an M340i and tune the engine than wait for the M3 touring
I had same thing with right hand corners attacked aggressively in my stock Focus RS. Fuel tank topped up seemed to solve it but interestingly months later after keeping that tank topped is OK even with low fuel (e.g. quarter full). So I cannot really pinpoint to the cause unfortunately. Seemed like a glitch or confounding factors. You might need to upgrade the fuel pump due to the tune (does it cut power on stock map too?) demanding higher volume of fuel under load?! In any case, the dealer explanation that this car is not for track is big nonsense I would say - that is not M division way come on... Don't know the M3's tank design but I am sure is getting fuel from more that 1 sink in the tank just for the case you are in a high G manoeuvre. Good luck sorting it out. Great car!

Probably Dinan has various stages of tunes for thousands of dollars but it would make for a cool video to load a tune, test it with all your gear, put back to stock tune, flash Dinan stage whatever stating similar output as the stage 7 using the Power Chips tune and test it and compare the results. That would be interesting 🤔

Though I did expect a bigger difference due to 660hp vs 600hp, but then again this manual rwd is quite lighter. Based on your head movements at high speeds, the M340i seems really smooth, while the M3 seems to be a lot stiffer, and thus, your head is moving around a lot more. This is rather eye-opening. Does this mean the M340i is a better high speed cruiser?

I haven’t driven an M3 but I have a M340. It’s incredibly smooth on the interstate, especially since I got the run flats off. I had a Q50 RS 400 stage 2 and it does not compare to a stock M340. Completely different class of car, the Q50 walked all over the road and felt loose. BMW is composed and smooth.
First time I hear someone saying race chip brings stock power from 510 to 660hp and I’ve seen tons of videos with Dyno tests and have a g82 m4 Xdrive myself….normally we are talking 60-65 hp gains (unless there is some kind of ethanol blend thrown in) with this tune. I have the Daehler tuning system on mine which is the most powerful piggy back tune comparing to race chip and Jb4 and I’m not getting that much of a gain. Alot B.S. being spewed here.
Not all Bridgestones are runflats on m340i. Some have Touranza T005 on 18”. I would not know if are bad or not … as I just drive normally on the street 😅 What other tires are good for 18”? (bmw x drive star approved)
Im really hestitating to get the m4 comp xdrive since we have snow around here half of the year but can you make it track focus by putting some ohlins suspension and maybe some aero ? I really don’t know if it will change a lot but I was thinking of g power and alpha n preparations

Hey AutoTopNL, I think M340i would be much better in corners if Michelin PS 4S are fitted. Of course M3 will be faster in corner speeds but those trash Bridgestone runflats can ruin it all. Did you ever driven M340i with UUHP tires as PS 4S ? If yes, is that cornering speed still such a difference ?
Racechip? LOL - nobody who knows how that things works (sending false signals to ECU to battle with) would ever install something like that. Do a proper ECU remap!
Meh it's just a piggyback tune what do you expect. An actual ECU reprogram is better obviously. Plus their numbers are BS no way a piggyback turns 480hp to "a little over 600".
M340i is very fuel efficient. Especially with 48v mild hybrid (under 7l/100km) where are some speed limits. If you drive it sporty and 200kmph will change a lot

The xdrive really slows it down after 100
HP numbers are off racechip isn't the same as actual ECU remap, plus AWD drivetrain losses
