I’m actually kinda fine with the pissed off head. Works for the beast during this phase of his in the comics since he was more feral and ferocious. Not perfect, but better than the Grandpa Munster-Steve Carell lovechild head. I think with some grey paint in his hair that matches the body and some black eyeliner painted on, he’d be leaps and bounds better aesthetically speaking!

I love this guy and I love that new head. The smiling expression is more typical of the Beast's days as an Avenger and later a Defender, but then he was also dark blue at that time. His "gray" period was in the Beast's very, very brief solo run where he was more of a monster than a super hero... and he wasn't smiling much then. That having been said, I love this guy much more than that Jim Lee Beast. I just wish this guy were a dark blue. As for the glasses, once Hank McCoy turned furry, he left his glasses behind until he joined X-Factor and was de-furred again. He never worse glasses as an Avenger or a Defender. The glasses were really something made famous by that gaudy 90's X-Men cartoon.

The George Perez head; probably tooled but not included in the original release because of 'budget'.
So, they release a repaint that doesn't include the head in blue as intended.

I mean, his glasses aren't that good but at least they didn't give him those awful Peter Parker glasses... Man, what were they thinking with those? In retrospect, they make these look much better... Awesome review Anthony!

🇸🇪👋🇺🇸 Love this. "You made it to the end anyway". Such a boss! How can they not be aware of the figure not holding its glasses and the book being upside down on the back card? Or it was intentional for spoof. I guess we'll get the Ultimate Marvel Legends Beast within 6 months then. A new blue variant with a thorough black wash, all the hands, heads with great face expressions, snug-fitted nice glasses and and optional cloth lab-coat. 😁

I was thinking of getting it since I didnt get the blue Beast but since you cant make him wear his glasses, its just another beast with different colour. In my opinion the blue one is still better.

This is such a strange release. Like you said, the head doesn't match the grey Beast in comics, it does however match how he looked when he was in the Avengers and X-Factor, where he was blue. Such a weird figure that I imagine most people will buy for the book (I know I did).

This is why I haven't opened up my grey beast. Not until I make or buy a custom head that resembles the artwork. Perhaps I'll make a recast and smooth the eyebrows and paint it comic accurate.
